Sorry to hear that shamrock, love the positivity x

Mel3062 · 16/05/2014 05:29

Day 8 for me and got high on my monitor as I have got the last couple of days as getting used to me and used my advanced opk as well and got a peak on that! Busy weekend ahead, seems abit early!

VillageMum · 16/05/2014 09:05

Shamrock so sorry for your news. Well done to you for looking ahead. Miracles absolutely do happen - I had my beautiful and perfectly healthy DD at nearly 43. I don't actually think 42 is that old! (I'm 44 now!)

Team you are the absolute proof that miracles can happen - I remember when I joined this thread last October and you were going through so much, with another early miscarriage - and now everything has changed and you have a baby boy on the way! It just makes me smile and smile. I am SO happy for you Grin

Oops Team, why do I seem to think that you are having a baby boy? Did you post this earlier, or am I making it up... or is it a hunch? Smile

Hello Team that's such good news. Babies still turn a lot so don't worry about the breech.

Yes am 28 weeks (and 5 days, yay).

brownstag · 16/05/2014 18:31

Sorry for this sudden fleeting appearance, as I had been studiously trying to wean myself off MN, at least until I felt I really was out of ttc mode, but just wanted to share some amazing news for anyone with crap AMH. I just had mine retested out of scientific interest after taking melatonin for 2.5 months and it's the highest it's ever been since testing over the last 2 years! 3.8! (Previously 1.5, 2.1 and 1.14 the last being more than a year ago I think.) Now only low fertility and not undetectable! What's more, I took it on the day of ovulation, which according to a study I read is the point in the cycle when it is lowest (although it doesn't fluctuate much).
Not sure what to do with this information personally as yet, but for anyone else struggling with poor egg quality/dwindling reserves, this has to be good news.
I take 2mg btw and have lovely sleep too.
Waves to everyone! xx

Mel3062 · 16/05/2014 18:55

Wow brown that's amazing thanks for sharing ;) umm not sure whether Try it incase of raising uterine cells, blinking heck!!

brownstag · 16/05/2014 20:00

An avenue for later if necessary, maybe? But hopefully not needed.
I just worked out that my AMH has increased 3.333 times since 16 months ago.

duggs1976 · 17/05/2014 04:43

What?brown. Just googled it and says melatonin might stop ovulation so sometimes used as birth control also increases immune system response?? I guess just possible side effects eh ?

brownstag · 17/05/2014 06:20

Only at absolutely massive doses. I think they were talking in the 1000s of mg for a contraceptive. I take 2mg as advised by Penny at Serum (well actually she said 3mg but I never got round to it).

brownstag · 17/05/2014 06:22

Also I don't detect any increased immune response, with a raging cold on top of a three-week cough. :)

duggs1976 · 17/05/2014 07:54

Ok that is very interesting then brown I think shamrock was only asking a few days ago what she could take for improving egg quality ...

brownstag · 17/05/2014 08:33

Other effects I've noticed are lengthening AF, increased CM and boobs less saggy. I found my last results (1.14) and it was indeed 16 months ago so that's a increase of 3.33 times in that time.

duggs1976 · 17/05/2014 10:13

You could start a blog brown Smile

teamdozie · 17/05/2014 13:24

Mel3062 · 17/05/2014 16:09

Arianrhod · 17/05/2014 16:35

That's fab news brown. Hmmm wonder if melatonin is contraindicated in pregnancy .. I need sleep!!! :)

brownstag · 17/05/2014 16:46

I think it is, Ari, because it affects other hormones. Incidentally, anyone wanting to try it, there are a few drugs it is contraindicated with, easily found online. Are you finding it hard to sleep still? Pregnancy for me is the one time I have no trouble sleeping.

brownstag · 17/05/2014 19:14

Love to you all - I am now disappearing again :)

Arianrhod · 17/05/2014 21:13

Yep, I keep waking up around 5am no matter what time I've gone to sleep. Which is usually quite late as OH wont go to bed at a sensible (for me) time, and I can't go to bed before him (ie him come up later) as he's a noisy bugger and wakes me up! Plus certain bits of me hurt quite a bit (you can guess what!) so every time I turn over that wakes me up too. Hence why I'd like something that gives me decent sleep!! I figured melatonin would be out, as I know it affects hormone balance. Darn it.

tannyLoo · 18/05/2014 15:38

Hi everyone, I wonder if I could de-lurk.

I've been hanging out on the rm board and I recognise a couple of names

A quick bit of back story...

I'm 42 and have 2 DSs aged 14 and 2. Been trying to get upduffed for the last year and a half but ended up with 5 mcs instead. All early, between 5+5 and 6+6. No fetal pole in at least 2 and no hb seen in any. All tests so far are normal, although first test for APS came back high and second normal. Consultant thinks I'm super fertile. Currently waiting for karyotype results.

I talked to my consultant about going to see Prof Q and he is very supportive and encouraging. I'm currently waiting for ov in a few days time to make an appointment.

It's been a shitty time and I'd never have stayed sane without mn.

shamrock72 · 19/05/2014 08:38

Thanks for sharing your news Brown about the melatonin. As Duggs said just asked about improving egg quality there a few days ago :)

@ Village always think that I am still a young one Wink till I see a child of 16 behind the wheel of a car and think you should not be driving yet lol.

Got the Royal Jelly and the myo inositol there last week and D&C on Wednesday.

waves to all

freelancegirl · 19/05/2014 09:45

Interesting stuff brown! Does that change anything for you or are you still staying out of the game as it were?

Welcome Tanny, although sorry to hear about your miscarriages. Glad we have helped in keeping you sane! Good that you are going down the nkc route, it certainly sounds like it could be down to that. Let us know how it goes! We have a load of success stories here on treatment and lots more pregnant people at the moment too.

Tumtimes1 · 19/05/2014 13:35

Hey tanny!

havent been on for a bit but all is good thing end. Just 4 more sleeps and I will be 24 weeks. Which I also cant believe! Team did you get a random scan at 24 weeks or did you have that booked in on the midwife? My next scan is not until 28 weeks.

Hi shamrock sorry to read your news.

Hey everyone else x
