This is a positive thread for all those diagnosed with High or Very High NK Cells and looking to start TTC or already pregnant on Prednisolone and/or Intralipid treatment.

Newcomers very much welcome!

Thanks - I did email louise and she said to go in for a scan and blood tests but I felt that was a bit too much considering I only missed one month if it doesn't appear again next month then I'll go in. It's crazy as been pretty regular every month for ages then the one month I need it to arrive to start something it doesn't appear. I just feel like months are going by and we are doing nothing I just want to get started!!

Triplespin · 19/08/2014 11:49

Maybe it's just late. Hopefully it will appear in a couple of days! fx. It's hard to wait when you are ready to start on treatment!

Thanks Mel - yes I will just take it tomorrow now, otherwise the whole cycle will get ruined from taking in evenings. I am so sleepy this morning without the preds lol.

Mel3062 · 19/08/2014 11:52

Dr g said that with me I needed a blood test even though their was no way I was preg! It's the cyclogest that holds mine off. V frustrating when you want to get on!

sunnyday01 · 19/08/2014 16:04

Well signs look like I'm ovulating at the moment so hopefully that means a period coming in a couple of weeks! Fingers crossed!

rb30 · 19/08/2014 22:01

Hopender and freelance thanks for getting back to me too. Cartoon you also. After copious amount of research convinced myself that the lymphnodes weren't going g to kill me. I actually did show dr Shehata the lymphnodes when I had my hysterscopy in surrey new life clinic, he said they were blood clots but as I was cabbaged from the sedation I didn't think anything of it. The gp didn't give me much to go on, so I emailed Dr S office and he came back and said could be side effect "but of no usual concern", I took it as a positive. They're still there but fingers crossed go down soon.

Wow reading all the success stories really is so encouraging. Good luck with your pregnancies.
I've took my second humira injection on Sunday which made me pass out cos my blood pressure dropped (which is normal for me). I then have to go and get a repeat TNF test in 2 weeks and then a further follow up 2 weeks after that. If my TNF levels havent come down below 30 I have to repeat the humira. But apparently if it doesn't work by the 4th injection it means it's never going to work. It's been 4mnths since my last mc and I really want to start ttc so having to wait another 4 weeks and potentially a further month after that if TNF levels haven't dropped means I can't start trying till November :-(

I agree with Mel re seeing your treatment programmes. I'm really interest especially in finding out about those that had similar probably as I had (shown below).

Ignore the rest of my information overload if you're not interested...it's a bit of a download

Phase 1 for me is as a follows:
TNF alpha IL-10 at 34 (normal 13-31): treatment = 2 x humira injection, retest bloods, if TNF drop to acceptable level then move to phase 2, otherwise repeat2 x injections and blood test. Each 2 injections costs £700 and the TNF blood test costs c280

Phase 2 to treat the various High NK (lymphocytes at 12.8% - normal is

rb30 · 19/08/2014 22:04

Sorry about all my typos!!! How awful! Re the fertilaid vitamins I was trying to say "Fertile aid (daily dose has 600mcg of folic acid)"

rb30 · 19/08/2014 22:11

cartoon my total NK absolute count was 194.6 (dr a said should be less than 200 so not to worry...) and total nk cd69 absolute count (activation market) was 0.26 (dr a should be at zero). Not sure if this is of any use to you...

Triplespin · 20/08/2014 09:01

Rb -Dr S put me on metformin too. I have been taking 1500 post my mc too. I will try to get my GP to prescribe it to me though. What are the side effects you are having? I haven't had many, except for a reduced appetite.

rb30 · 20/08/2014 09:52

First day I took metformin was day I got my blood test results from Dr S - so I think combined with anxiety, stress, travelling back to midlands had me vomiting for about 6 hours! Same here with the appetite being reduced, and of course the more than normal visits to the loo (tmi sorry). Sorry about your mc. How long have you been seeing dr S? When I was told I was pcos by a diff private doctor last year they never gave me the meds. But from research I found metformin apparently helped regulate ovulation? Not sure how true that is...but many women ttc found going on metformin helped them conceive (conception probably not an issue for most of us - rather the carrying)

Triplespin · 20/08/2014 10:04

I was lucky I didn't have any irritable bowel /vomiting from metformin.

I have never been diagnosed with pcos - but do have symptoms. My LH was high relative to my FSH and so Dr S had me on metformin. I took it only 2 weeks prior and conceived that cycle but I don't think it had anything to do with metformin as i wasn't even on the full dose when is conceived.

I probably have some complex immune issues which Mr S plan didn't address. I am now having these investigated and exploring reasons for my mc.

Hopender · 21/08/2014 12:48

Glad you are feeling better about the lymphnodes Rb30. You definitely don't want to have that to worry about on top of everything else. It is great that you have started treatment now.

I hope you find some answers soon too Triple. Hopefully you will have some good news before too long.

We have just moved to East Lothian Iggi from the centre of town. Are you in Edinburgh?

Only two and a half weeks until I go back to see Dr S for results. Feeling quite nervous but also hopeful that he will be able to help.

Hope all well with everyone else.

MattsMamma · 22/08/2014 11:19

Ladies - hello again! Don't know if remember me but I was on a few months ago. I had to stop coming on here as I was starting to obsess slightly and although I loved coming on here I found it seemed to make my obsessing worse and it wasn't good for my mind! If that makes sense!! Plus found out my mum was ill so I have been somewhat preoccupied!

Anyway to cut a long story short I have done a first response this morning and there is only a bloody line there - albeit very faint but its there!! My period not due for another three days but already I have so many emotions running round my head - excitement, fear!! Plus I haven't been taking the pred at ovulation - I have been taking all the other stuff, vit d, omega etc so I have popped the steroids this morning and obviously under dr s he likes from ovulation.

I just had to share my news with someone as I am going to burst but obviously you ladies know exactly what other emotions I am going through too! Has anyone else taken steroids at a positive pregnancy test?

Sorry for a me me post but I am busting!! After so many disappointments of negative tests and period arriving I can't believe that positive test has actually happened - I am now terrified of poas again in case the line doesn't get stronger etc........

Triplespin · 22/08/2014 12:46

Congrats matts!! I know it is exciting and so good to share with someone as usually we can't do so with people in real life! All the best - do u need to have intralipids too?

Hopender - best of luck with your next appointment. Hope you get some answers.

cartoontrickster · 22/08/2014 12:51

congratulations matts I took nothing until bfp and have to DS to show for it so try not to worry to much from the point of view.

Mel3062 · 22/08/2014 14:48

Hopender good luck with results
Matts mamma congratulations!

MattsMamma · 22/08/2014 21:04

Thanks so much ladies - not sure about intralipids Triple. I'll have to find out. Just daren't get my hopes up too much at the moment.

cartoon. That's very reassuring - thank you Smile

Hopender · 22/08/2014 22:56

Congratulations Matts!!!! Probably is a little weird how excited I got when I saw your post!! I am really happy for you. I'm sure it is scary but so great that you have an early positive. I got an early positive with my DS so I think it is a really good sign. Sending positive thoughts your way. You'll have to keep us updated!

Thanks to everyone else for good luck messages!

Tumtimes1 · 23/08/2014 01:01

Ah it's lovely to read an update from you mattsmama that is so positive. Nice one! When I got pregnant I hadn't taken the pred from ovulation either and started it the day I got my bfp and so far so good.

Hello and welcome to everyone else on here who is new and embarking on this journey.

Congrats free on your 20 weeks scan. Yay!

So to those who don't know me I had 3 previous mc's and was tested by shehata and found to have borderline high nkc's. I was prescribed 25 mg of pred and took that from my next bfp. I am 37 weeks today and due for my c section on the 4th sept and still can't believe it. Will keep you posted as to how it all goes. Xx

MattsMamma · 23/08/2014 08:35

Thank you hopender and tum! It really helps reading the reassuring posts and I am going to try and remain positive ( easier said) wow Tum. 37 weeks! not long at all now - exciting times! hopender - I will definitely keep you all informed. Took another frer this am and it's darker! Was so nervous doing it but very relieved and glad I did now.

Next step will be a clear blue digital but not gonna do that for a couple of days yet! I just want to enjoy this little bit of time with my secret! I know I have busy times ahead , ie appointments with Mr Shehata etc but not thinking of this just yet

Hello everyone else x

rb30 · 23/08/2014 09:50

Good luck hopender...fingers crossed you get your answers.

Matts congratulations!!! What treatment have you been / will be following?

Tums congrats to you too. Great success story! Did you take anything pre bfp? Good luck with birth

I do repeat TNF test on1st and see dr s again on 15th to start next phase, and basically start ttc that next cycle...(I've had a rash on humira so not allowed to take anymore thank goodness). Can't wait to ttc again it will have been nearly 6 months since

Baby dust to you all xxx

Tumtimes1 · 23/08/2014 20:50

Hi rb30, in the run up to bfp I took the following:
1000mg omega 3
X2 d vitamins per day
X folic acid (normal dose)
X1 baby aspirin
1000mg of vitamin c
Evening primrose up to ovulation

When I got my bfp started on prednisolone and progesterone. I also ended up on clexane for good measure xx

Mel3062 · 24/08/2014 06:53

Tum can't believe it's nearly time for you good luck!
Bfn for me, it's so disheartening when you try so hard then you hear a collegue is showing a scan pic after first month it's just unfair :(
Anyway guess id best stop cylogest now, I have this worry every month that I'm stopping it too early and maybe I'm implNting later but af should be due this weekend though ff says tues so I think a test would show now would t it??

Triplespin · 24/08/2014 08:04

Mel - I am so sorry for the bfn. It is very depressing seeing colleagues or even baby bumps on the tube!

What are the next steps? Have u considered ivf or iui?

Mel3062 · 24/08/2014 08:20

Going to go back to dr g to see what's next.im getting my day 3 fsh test done wed as it's over a year since last had it done though don't know if it will change much apart from decline. Don't know if to go at the weekend to see him with that result or wait til I get progesterone result day 21 as well? I just don't want him saying he wants that and then I've to go back again. Any idea?? I emailed to ask but got 2 different answers. I think it will be ivf next and were hoping to go to serum for that but it will be feb I reckon ( need to speak to my boss)

MrsPixieMoo · 24/08/2014 09:25

Just popping in to congratulate Mattsmama and to wish Tum all the best for the CS.

My baby is 3 weeks old tomorrow. She's doing well. I had a few very down days but we are all delighted with her.

Thanks For all on here.
