BecauseIsaidS0 · 11/04/2014 13:05

Peasant, I've manager to give up the wheat, but the sugar...oh, the sugar! It gets me every single time. I'm a sugarholic I'm afraid Sad

BecauseIsaidS0 · 11/04/2014 14:53

Ultrasound in half an hour. Have drunk one litre of water. Want to pee so badly!!!

FeatherFeather11 · 11/04/2014 19:02

barking great news re IUI appointment! Be sure to make the most of your honeymoon as you may be diffed before you know it. Grin

beaky that is totally rubbish. I agree with tiger - definitely kick up a stink.

funky welcome home! So pleased you had an ace time.

Hi everybody else! I've had one hellish week and not checked in properly in a while. Will do soon, but probably not till Sunday. School's out you lucky teacher berries! I am SO Envy Flowers

FeatherFeather11 · 11/04/2014 19:03

And because good luck! Let us know how you get on Flowers

BecauseIsaidS0 · 11/04/2014 19:11

Ugh. Just ugh. It was the dildocam in the end and there was a lot of raised eyebrows and concerned looks but nobody would tell me anything other than "nothing horrible or scary" so at the moment I'm thinking endometriosis or PCOS.

Parsley2506 · 11/04/2014 19:12

because how'd it go?

barking when do you depart? So flipping envious, have the most amazing time!!

beaky exactly what tiger said. That is outrageous, you must be so angry!

funky sounds like a fantastic holiday, hope the real world is treating you kindly now you're back!

Had another Leon brownie today. I think I'm addicted. I am a sugar addict too!

9DPO here and allowed myself a quick vino post work. This new crazy short cycle of mine probably means I'm out anyway Hmm

Happy holidays teacher Berries!

Parsley2506 · 11/04/2014 19:14

X post because - when will you get actual result? Why can't they say anything at the appointment, so frustrating!

BecauseIsaidS0 · 11/04/2014 20:10

We have a meeting with my GP in two weeks to review everything: bloods, smear, ultrasound. Then I guess at least we will know where we stand.

funkymonk · 11/04/2014 21:29

How frustrating Beaky! That is not on at all. I agree that you should push with the fact that you were referred before 1st April.

Feather why have you had a bad week? Sorry if I have missed something earlier on the thread.

Because, how annoying having to wait 2 weeks for the appt! All these processes take such a looooong time.

Barking where are you going away? Was it a UK break with the woof?

Parsley whats up with your cycles? Are they a bit wtf since mc? What cycle are you since mc now?

Whats going on with all these dietary changes? I've missed all this. Is there something I should be/shouldn't be doing?

Any nice weekend plans berries?

ladybunnikins · 11/04/2014 21:32

That's really rubbish, Because, every dildocam I've had has been shown to me on the screen and talked through (with dildocam still in place!). I haven't seen any GPs doing ultrasounds though.

Parsley2506 · 11/04/2014 21:49

I self medicated EPO and agnus castus (cos I used it the month of my BFP) after the MC funky, which gave me 3 very regular but longer than pre-MC cycles (31 days compared to 28/29).
I got a 'plan' from Catching Rainbows last month which took me off EPO and halved the agnus castus and I have gone from OV around CD17 to CD10 this month!
Closer to my old normal, but pretty drastic change wise! The plan is also why I've ditched the wheat. Really craving some spaghetti right now!!

tigerdog · 11/04/2014 22:02

Hmmm...annoying that they didn't give you more information at the time because but good that you have a proper appointment with the gp to go through it all. Bloody grim all this prodding and poking we have to endure.

parsley I also indulged in a gf brownie today, all the talk of brownies yesterday was too much and I cracked!

Hey funky it seems like everyone has been advised to try going gluten free! My acupuncturist suggested it because she thought my diet contained too much wheat and apparently it might be contributing to my painful, heavy periods.

Brunch for a friends 'pre-baby' get together tomorrow. I'm sure it will be lovely but imagine that I'll have to fend off at least one question about my childlessness as is the norm at these things!

beakybeak · 11/04/2014 22:50

Thanks Berries. The nurse told me that they were stopping doing it because their success rates for it are so low, she said it would be lower than us just having regular sex every month on our own. From what the FC said to me, I thought it would benefit me as I may not be ovulating properly, so thought that would increase my chances but who knows. I'll see what they say next week when they ring.

RP and Funky I am doing gluten/wheat/sugar free for 2 weeks as I've read that high levels of estrogen are what can cause endometriosis and adenomyosis and some types of cysts which is what I have, and I'm following what is basically an estrogen detox plan which means not eating any of those things or anything nice ever hopefully it will decrease my estrogen which will increase my progesterone too and hopefully I'll get diffed. Who knows. I feel a bit like I'm clutching at straws.

Because how annoying that you have to wait two weeks for the result. Fx everything is fine though.

Feather sorry you've had a shitty week. Did you decide what to do about a dress? Have you looked at Jenny Packham? She has some similar styles to your Vicky Rowe dress. I loved her dresses when I was looking.

Barking have an amazing honeymoon!

Parsley that is a massive jump forward but hopefully the plan will work and you will be diffed again soon!

Good luck Tiger for the get together, it's always the same I find, someone always asks!

I'm not up to much this weekend, brought work home to try and catch up which isn't going to happen, but I want to enjoy a long Easter weekend and not have to work then. What's everyone else up to?

beakybeak · 11/04/2014 23:49

Have just worried myself no end by reading up on adenomyosis and infertility and the decreased success rates for IVF with this condition. Sad

barkingtreefrog · 12/04/2014 06:52

beaky step away from google, that way madness lies! love giving advicevI can't follow myself.
The trouble with any success rates for fertility is that the only women having the treatment are those that can't get pg themselves. The results are therefore always going to be skewed. What your nurse said was absolute rubbish, same kind of crap I heard from our fc. IUI success rates are 15-20% whilst chances of getting pg naturally in a cycle are 25%. But the latter figure includes loads of young fertile women and the former is only those that have already been found infertile, so it's irrelevant. If I had a 25% chance of getting pg each cycle I'd assume that 28 cycles in I would be diffed. I'm not. However, IUI will take control of my cycle, make the follicles the right size and pop them at the right time, which given my hormone imbalance issues (very late Ov + short LP) will give me a massively increased chance of pg compared to trying to get pg with a wonky cycle. I'm going to be one of the 15-20% Grin Grin Grin .

Come join me on the yellow brick road, get on the phone and kick up a stink to whoever necessary. They cannot offer you a treatment then take it away. Unless there's a medical reason and they want to offer you something better in the same time scale.

tigerdog · 12/04/2014 07:09

Jenny Packam, specifically the Eden dress was also what I thought of, feather. I tried it on myself and thought it was beautiful!

barking what you say makes a lot of sense! Hope you have a fab honeymoon!

This is my third day of elevated temps following a dip at 8 dpo. Does it mean anything?! Also does ff usually get ov dates right?! I'm not sure if I agree with it.

Am awake early because my foot hurts after a ridiculously clumsy stumble at work yesterday. I'm an officially an idiot who can't be trusted in heels!

nolly3 · 12/04/2014 07:19

Morning all
I think it's ridiculously hard to get good info on stats for ttc when you have fertility provs. One reason to come on here, best source of specific advice around imho. Still have depressed evenings googling things randomly and making self depressed though.
Interesting so many gf, and that send to had an effect. I admire all your discipline ladies.

Hope things go well at the fc beaky and because, hope brunch ok tiger and enjoy honeymoon barking, waves to everyone else. I'm off to oz for family wedding for 2 weeks so ttfn. Hope to read good news when I'm back!

FeatherFeather11 · 12/04/2014 07:41

because that's bang out of order of your FC. But remember if it was serious-serious they would have said something straight away. I just can't believe they leave you hanging like that. barking is right though - kick off properly about it. And ignore the 'stats' - I know quite a few people it HAS worked for - our very own bunny and vouch for its effectiveness!

Parsley and tiger I hear you! 6dpo here and wondering if my elevated temps are a sign! Also terrified of another ectopic so every time I feel a twinge on my left side I'm convinced it's happened again. tiger I can't really walk in heels either.

funky I'm ok, really. Just has a mad and very stressful work week - lots of things going wrong and having to make them right pretty sharpish.

For anyone getting. Married and can get down to London on April 24 - Jenny Packham bridal is having a sample sale (70% off), sizes 6 to 18, at the Westbury Hotel in London. Starts at 8am and finishes at 6pm.

I've given up on dress hunting. The last one I tried on on weds was perfectly nice and I'll probably just get that one. I look a bit fat in it though, but I'm so sick of looking now. For those interested, here it is: www.net-a-porter.com/product/400841

Hope you have a lovely trip to oz nolly!

BecauseIsaidS0 · 12/04/2014 07:53

Ooooh Feather, I like it!

Beaky, yes! step away from Dr Google. Nothing good ever comes out of it! (and I should know, since I've interviewed with them countless times and they never offer me a job Sad)

The two weeks will go quickly though. I've got tons of family descending over me for Easter! Shock

happylass · 12/04/2014 08:13

My we are up early for a Saturday!!
Beaky that is truly outrageous. You must complain. If your FC won't listen take it higher. On the stats front I think it was Kitty (who got diffed on her first round of IUI) who told me the success rates are calculated by patients returning a questionnaire and most just don't bother.
Barking have an amazing honeymoon and enjoy the skydive. Can't wait to hear all about it and see the pics. Nolly enjoy your travels too.
Shag week should just be starting here but DP is in fucking Finland until Wednesday Angry. Not that it matters much I suppose as I've pretty much given up hope of an au naturel BFP! On the upside I have 2 long weeks off work. Good times! Have a great weekend all.

OP posts:
happylass · 12/04/2014 08:16

Ps - gorgeous dress Feather. How long til the big day? Someone informed me the other day that it's 18 weeks til
ours. I was like Shock how'd that happen?? It was 18 months away when we booked it. I need to get my butt in gear and get organising. May possibly be the worst bride ever!!

OP posts:
FeatherFeather11 · 12/04/2014 08:42

happy seriously think I am the WORST bride ever. Mine's on June 7 so only 8 weeks away (7, really) and our invites haven't even gone out yet. No dress etc. we have venue ceremony and transport booked and that is it.

happylass · 12/04/2014 08:55

Feather you may just beat me on that one. I have no invites either but I did get my dress last August - decided to look early as I'm fussy but indecisive!!

OP posts:
Parsley2506 · 12/04/2014 09:00

tiger same here! Night sweats galore!

nolly have a fantastic trip! I love Australia Grin

feather you're very good at sniffing out amazing dresses! Love it! Are you going to the JP sample sale too?
Don't you or happy worry about being 'disorganised' - it will all come together, I felt the same before mine and it was amazing in the end Smile

Anyone heard from otters recently?

Parsley2506 · 12/04/2014 09:29

Ps because - interesstiiing!! I wonder if we work in the same industry??.......
