The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 12+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooooh aren’t we strict!

Gillster · 08/04/2014 22:26

I'd say I was pretty relaxed for the first 6 months of TTC Didn't do me any good!

RevoltingPeasant · 08/04/2014 22:37

Okay so I've bought a "deluxe fertility kit" cheap plastic syringe from Amazon. Eek!

Feather cannot believe that baster you linked to - 30 cm long - I am not a farm animal you know!

...... Grin Grin

barkingtreefrog · 08/04/2014 22:43

gill I had very low expectations, I was still relaxed after a year! It was only when I started temping and realised my cycle was wonky that I realised it might not just be a matter of time...

Speaking of which, I've been counting my LP wrong. So my new and improved LP is 9 days. Still an improvement on 7 or 8 though. And no spotting pre AF this time. And for the first time in months and months a proper bleed. BAD pain and cramps to go with it - sat doubled up during a lesson this afternoon, couldn't move - but I shouldn't complain, I've been wishing for heavier bleeding for over a year!

RevoltingPeasant · 08/04/2014 22:53

Barking sounds like it is making a small but real difference. If you can get up to 10 days LP you will be in a much better place chance-wise. :)

beakybeak · 08/04/2014 23:17

barking that's great! I mean, it's awful at the same time but very promising! I really hope you get your honeymoon diff!

winohhh · 09/04/2014 09:54

Thanks for all your support about my delayed/ non existent ovulation berries. I was pretty low for a while back there. It's difficult to keep perspective when you don't talk about it, so thank you for helping me not be so bleak about things. I've had 2 days of temp rises so I'm hoping I ovulated on CD20, late, but still there. Fingers crossed for another temp rise to confirm tomorrow.

I've been reading the syringe chat with interest RP! I hope it does the job!

Barking, I would not have handled things well if my DH had sent me that article. If stress about ttc prompts you to monitor your cycle and dtd at the right time, then I suspect it should help getting pregnant not hinder it. Argh!

Well done all you gluten free dieters! How's it going? The recipes you've talked about all seem lovely!!

winohhh · 09/04/2014 10:30

Barking, sorry you should be leaving for mat leave. It's just so shit.

Feather... What's the decision on the wedding dress?? (And congrats on ovulating!!)

Kami, sorry you're leaving. Good luck with everything and I really hope you get your bfp soon.

Happy, good news that you can get 2 private icsi cycles pre nhs. We aren't allowed to have any if we go the nhs route. They won't tell me what the nhs waiting list is though (we haven't had an nhs fertility appointment yet, got bfp just before so cancelled).

Funky, how was your holiday?? We're hoping to book our summer hols this week. :)

Because, sorry about your fight with DH. I find it all so stressful. I feel more irritable around ovulation and so I'm constantly trying to keep a lid on my emotions at key times! This cycle was particularly difficult as my ovulation was delayed, so extended the whole process!!

Parsley, sorry you've experienced friends avoiding you since the MC. I've told a few friends and work colleagues in RL, but to be honest id rather people didn't know we were ttc. Which makes it hard to tell people about the MMC.

Tiger, good luck with the job app.

Barking, I'm really cheerleading your longer LP. Such good news that the spotting has stopped. :)

winohhh · 09/04/2014 10:32

Sorry for the cluster posts. No posts from me for days, then 3 come along at once!!

Parsley2506 · 09/04/2014 14:58

Fly by irrelevant post: Oh. My. GOD! I have just discovered Leon do loads of GF/WF cakes. Just scarfed an entire brownie in about 2 mins and I swear it's the best thing I've ever eaten!! I've missed cake so much!! GrinGrinGrin

tigerdog · 09/04/2014 15:31

Mmmmm. Sounds good! Starbucks choc brownie is also gf Smile

You must be in the big smoke Parsley to have a Leon close by. I miss the joys of decent lunch places in London. Naff all round here at all!! On the plus side I hardly spend anything on food at all.

beakybeak · 09/04/2014 17:51

Nice to see you back Winn hope you are feeling better.

Parsley so jealous of your brownie right now! But thanks Tiger for the gf Starbucks brownie info may try it out v soon.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 09/04/2014 20:29

Leon's GF stuff is fab, I always have the pecan pie. Beware of the Starbucks GF brownie, seriously laden with sugar and it will make you feel worse.

I have the best recipe ever for a GF, sugar free (but it has honey) avocado and lime pie, it's here in The Wellness Warrior page

DH and I made peace (and other stuff Grin) this morning, we both hate it when we fight but yes winoh, I do get touchy around ovulation!

barkingtreefrog · 09/04/2014 20:35

I think I live in a different universe to you because. Chocolate brownie has categorically never made me feel worse. Quite the opposite in fact. And my recipe has half a kilo of the white stuff in it .

I really need to pick up some wheat free flour so I can see if they still work with that.

I didn't realise baking powder and bicarbonate of soda had wheat in them. Do you think I need to avoid them, or can I ignore what will be a tiny amount of wheat within only a teaspoon of powder?

BecauseIsaidS0 · 09/04/2014 20:48

Oh don't get me wrong, a good brownie is a thing of beauty! But the Starbucks ones are vile in my opinion. I found a GF brownie in the Costa concession in my office (yes, I work in one of those offices) that was seriously good, so much so that I'm trying to make myself forget about it, as sugar is poison for me (pancreatic trauma in my past).

I always understood that baking powder had gluten in it but bicarbonate of soda didn't? Anyway, I bake with the soda and have never noticed any glutenous effects.

greatbigbushybeard · 09/04/2014 21:14

Mmmm, all this chocolate brownie talk is making me want one!! Can I ask why people are going gluten free? Is it to do with your rainbow plans?

tiger well we did the whole go on holiday and get pissed approach when we went all inc in the Caribbean, I think I pretty much had a drink every day, soooo relaxed I was horizontal and a lot of dtd but I think when you have genuine medical reasons and difficulties with ttc then all the relaxing in the world won't help. Although I do sometimes live in hope that it'll just surprise me when I've taken my eye off the ball. On the flip side of that I was re reading Emma cannon's 'total fertility' book and she very firmly states that your state of mind can have a big effect on your fertility and that you should actively find ways to relax, calm your mind and not over process everything. She has a chapter where she defines the different types of ttcers e.g the planner who actually loves all the Ivf stuff as it gives them a clear plan, the all heart person who will normally be very positive but can get ground down and start to use their enthusiasm in self destructive and inconsistent ways e.g. One day they'll be on a health kick, the next they will get wrecked and binge out as a kind of fuck it approach etc, it's quite interesting. Think I recognise a bit of myself in the last one. I do remember about a year or so into this whole ttc business being asked by a friend was I taking folic acid and I just said no, what's the point, I'm not getting pg so stuff it; this came after a supplement frenzy. Pleased to say now I have a more balanced approach!!

Good luck with the new job too!

winohh good to hear from you.

feather show us the dress!!!!

Parsley2506 · 09/04/2014 21:15

Sorry, did you say avocado and lime PIE? For pudding? [confused.com] Grin

nolly3 · 09/04/2014 21:22

That's interesting bushy, last one def sounds familiar :)

I made gf pancakes at the weekend. Gf baking powder. Delicious.

greatbigbushybeard · 09/04/2014 21:37

Hmm, love avocado, love lime.. Is it mean to be sweet??

tigerdog · 09/04/2014 21:46

I agree with you re the amount if sugar in the Starbucks brownie but if s

tigerdog · 09/04/2014 21:48

Bloody phone and fat fingers!! As I was saying...if someone is desperate for a choc/sugar rush then it certainly serves a purpose!!

I have made chocolate mouse with avocado...it's not bad!!

tigerdog · 09/04/2014 21:53

bushy I went fully gluten free only a couple of weeks ago at the advice of my acupuncturist. I also have three immediate family members with celiacs, and another who is gluten intolerant so chances are it was irritating me too. The acupuncturist reckons it might improve my very heavy and painful periods so I was more than willing to give it a go!

BoodleDoo · 09/04/2014 22:01

My acupuncturist has recommended I try wheat free for my heavy / painful periods. She said I had to commit 100% though; no cheating or teeny amounts as it's an all or nothing deal, apparently. Meh. Think I'll be scouting for recipes once Easter gets here!

nolly3 · 09/04/2014 22:55

At least it's new potato season for you gfs-ers! Good luck with it ladies.

I have a Clomid q for you kind people.dud you notice high temperatures from the beginning of your cycle? Mines about 36.6 which is pretty high for me.

FeatherFeather11 · 09/04/2014 23:30

Hi all!
Sorry I've not checked in. Been so manic at work I seriously considered having my lunch in a loo cubicle in order to get give mins of peace!

nolly I found that I had hot flushes and generally felt hotter on clomid. I wasn't temping at the time, but I did feel hotter, generally.

Dress was not meant to be. Tried it on again yesterday and it didn't feel right. Back to the drawing board with less than 8 weeks to go!

Hope you're all well. My eyes are slamming shut so I need to sleep but I'll catch up on thread news tomorrow.

Mmmm....brownies... Grin

nolly3 · 09/04/2014 23:44

Thanks feather. Oh for the days when I never noticed these things.

Also sounds like th right decision re dress. 8 weeks = ages. Will be fine!
