Anyone want to join me?

I'm 36 yo, ttc #1 and very excited about it. It's something I have wanted to do for a long time but it took me a while to find mr right!

l know I am no spring chick so I have some anxieties around that but I am trying to do everything right (eating well, exercising, cutting out alcohol/caffeine etc) and I want to start off optimistic :) am a seasoned pessimist/worrier!

Have been tracking my cycle for a good while. My periods are pretty regular and I thought I could feel my ovary twinging (strongly) when it wad supposed to. This has synched with positive opks so I guess I will soon be starting my first 2ww.

Good luck kitten. Thamrin, how did it go? I'm taking advantage of my week post period by enjoying a few drinks! Silver lining and all that! X

freneticfox · 27/05/2014 10:13

I'm still trying to get the hang of the forums, never sure where is best to post to get to know people!

TTC #1 - just finished ovulating on our first cycle and I am already going a little bit crazy with symptom spotting!

Rainbow555 · 27/05/2014 10:28

April-there is a silver lining! Wine
Hi Frenetic, why not hop on the June bus! Lots of chatter on the buses Smile

freneticfox · 27/05/2014 11:59

Thank you - I'll give that a try! :D

kittenmamma · 27/05/2014 19:47

Frenetic I am exactly the same, it's all new so I've no clue what feels like what!

I cane off my pills half way through a packet a couple of weeks ago, had my withdrawal bleed which was different, kept coming and going, not as heavy or painful as normal. Now a week after that stopped I've been having stabby pains and feeling off, any ideas anyone?
Could just be that my body is confused and is about to give me another beautiful AF or could be something else....?

April1984 · 27/05/2014 20:08

I came off the pill in march kitten mid pack. I think I've been lucky and my cycles sorted themselves out straight away. Though I have had horrible period pains and constant aches all
over throughout my cycle which I hoped were preg symptoms. I think our bodies go slightly haywire post pill but you can get pregnant soon after stopping so if I were you I'd get a pack of ovulation sticks and figure out your timings for baby dancing! Good luck! X

kittenmamma · 28/05/2014 11:14

I think you're right April, I am starting to wonder if I am about to ovulate because according to my cycle (if you go by my last AF from coming off the pill. Stabby pains and CM could indicate that. So sticks will help me. I've gone a bit mad trying to symptomise everything I feel, hopefully I'll get a BFP quite quickly or I may be driven insane!

kittenmamma · 28/05/2014 11:17

Wow I think I'll just try that again! Haven't slept much last night as we went to bed late and got up when our Superking bed was delivered (yay!)

I think you're right April, I am starting to wonder if I am about to ovulate because according to my cycle (if you go by my last AF from coming off the pill) I should do so on Friday. Stabby pains and CM could indicate that, so sticks will help me. I've gone a bit mad trying to symptomise everything I feel, hopefully I'll get a BFP quite quickly or I may be driven insane!

thamrin · 29/05/2014 09:05

hi all ladies, rainbow April all new ladies. and patience* how are you doing?

i can't get mumsnet app to work anymore for some reason so haven't logged into the laptop for a while.

i am out this month got, AF on schedule a couple days ago. rather down about it all but trying not to dwell. silver lining: a few shandies and vodka tonics at a BBQ and no worry or anxiety about potentially hurting baby and also a few days grace without being symptom spotting nutcase. Grin

April1984 · 29/05/2014 10:56

Oh that's a shame thamrin. Like you say, there's always a silver lining and it's usually alcohol related! ??

No news with me, I'm cd10 and so due to ovulate this weekend so planning to get some serious BDing done! DH is raring to go! I will be due to test mid June the day I go on hol so at least if it's a bfn u have a ok to soften the blow! I've been using a phone app- ovia I think it's called which is great to input info. Keeps me occupied!

thamrin · 29/05/2014 11:44

yes I'm using fertility friend phone app which is great too. i think its good to help u get more in tune with your cycles or i'd never remember or even take note of OV symptoms...

good luck at the weekend, woowooo Wink

Hi Everyone,
I've been off the pill for 18 months now but trying for 11. No luck so far Hmm Me and my other half have had various tests done but it looks we are both ok?! Have been just referred to the hospital but that's about 5 months wait. I'm 30, he is 33 and I'm getting a bit impatient Hmm not sure whats available out there I could start using before I get to see the specialist? Thanks xx

April1984 · 04/06/2014 17:10

Hey I'm afraid I don't know much about options for you. There may be another thread on mums net that may have some ideas though if you do a search? Sorry can't be of much help!

Sleepykaz · 04/06/2014 23:27

Hiya.

Ttc for #1 too! All very new to this. It scary! Coil was taken out a month back, had af and we've just hit high fertility, according to the app anyway... So of course bf has been called out tonight!! Not going to get anywhere fast that way! Lol.

Fingers crossed! x

LadesC · 07/06/2014 12:24

Hello strangers!! I have returned at last after mc and af has returned yesterday so will soon be back in the ttc game!! Hows everyone doing? Smile

HappilyMrsR · 07/06/2014 13:11

Hello gang, can I join in? First proper month ttc, trying in vain not to get sucked in to obsessing but it's a losing battle! Cupboard stocked with pregnancy tests, ready and raring to go! Currently on my tww, af due 18th.. Been off bc since August so cycles are regular enough but quite long. On medication that can affect things so a bit nervous and hoping that we have no issues...

Tracking with opks, peak fertility 31 may and 1, Dtd 26 may, 31 may, 1 June (been distracted this month, should have done more).

Excited, nervous and counting the days til I can do a test.... Aaah!

MistressKatherine · 07/06/2014 16:39

Oh good lord, I think I may be joining you ladies. Slightly freaked out but here we go!

I'm 28, came off dianette in May. Husband and I have been talking about it since September and he's all go but been waiting for me. Made a conscious decision to start exercising more this month so doing workout dvd's every other day and went for a run this morning too. Cutting down on alcohol and caffeine too.

Excited but totally jittery! Anyone else feel a bit freaked too?!

Lk265 · 11/06/2014 00:36

Hey,
I've been away for a while....been a lot more chilled out about this cycle. I am in my tww now and feel like I have no symptoms but trying to be hopeful as had a positive opk and DTD regularly... I was really tired the past few days but today had some energy again.
How's everyone else?

bakingmad83 · 11/06/2014 11:08

Will keep my fingers crossed for you Lk, tiredness was my first symptom, but found it came and went :)

I've got my 12 week scan next week. Think this has been the longest 7 weeks ever, but a bit more chilled now than when I first found out.

Hope everyone else is well x

Lk265 · 12/06/2014 09:03

Great to hear from you bakingmad...time has flown...already almost at your 12 week scan! Can you tell me the other symptoms you had? Hear so many in different websites, just wondering what you actually felt?

bakingmad83 · 12/06/2014 12:35

Thanks LK. I think symptoms are very variable from one lady to another, but early symptoms for me besides tiredness were taste changes, going for a wee more often and very painful nipples. The day my period was due I had what I assume was an implantation bleed. I had some headaches early on too and I guess I was more irritable, though that's now been replaced with getting emotional. I didn't get any real nausea till week 6 and that's when food aversions kicked in, but touch wood I've never actually been sick.

Hopefully good news for you soon :)

Lk265 · 14/06/2014 11:50

I can't quite believe I am writing this, but I got a positive pregnancy test this morning!!
My period is due today, I tested last night with an internet cheapie on some very weak urine and it came back invalid, but there was definitely a line...so first thing this morning I tested again with a Sainsbury's test and there was a cross! I can't believe it!
My husband is away until Monday night so I am trying to keep my mouth shut until then! But I just had to tell someone!
Ladies, I was beginning to lose hope, I was thinking of IVF, adoption....after a few months these things come into your head more, and now I am just blown away and pray it stays this way.

Rainbow555 · 14/06/2014 11:55

Congrats lk great news!! Smile

NewLeafExpat · 14/06/2014 11:58

Aww that's wonderful! congrats LK! good luck keeping quiet til DH is back! TTC cycle 5 for me and I've been imagining ways to tell Dh when the time comes!

bakingmad83 · 15/06/2014 17:40

Congratulations LK, that's lovely news :)
