Anyone want to join me?

I'm 36 yo, ttc #1 and very excited about it. It's something I have wanted to do for a long time but it took me a while to find mr right!

l know I am no spring chick so I have some anxieties around that but I am trying to do everything right (eating well, exercising, cutting out alcohol/caffeine etc) and I want to start off optimistic :) am a seasoned pessimist/worrier!

Have been tracking my cycle for a good while. My periods are pretty regular and I thought I could feel my ovary twinging (strongly) when it wad supposed to. This has synched with positive opks so I guess I will soon be starting my first 2ww.

Thanks patience

Aibu (and baby making) will keep us busy until the bfp start arriving Wink

patienceisvirtuous · 16/03/2014 20:12

A *good :)

Oh yes, I can while away many an hour on here!!

Odd thing is acknowledging that we are ttc. No one in real life knows and if we are lucky enough to get a bfp, it'll be a surprise to friends / family (I do 'professional career women' well!)

clairewright32 · 16/03/2014 20:29

Hi this is my 2nd cycle ttc I am on day 5 of my cycle so will start using my sticks end of next week. I am a 32 day cycle so have a bit of time to wait. Hope won't be too long for an bfp xx

patienceisvirtuous · 17/03/2014 08:02

Hi Claire. Welcome :)

Yes fingers X for us all.

Semi will be great for you to deliver the news and surprise everyone :)

We are the same in that I think friends have assumed I may not be interested in having any. I always have been, it's just I never said and they never asked - probably because until now I haven't been in a committed relationship. My family know how much it means to me though so they will be delighted if all goes to plan :)

Um, hello. Can I join in? 33yo, TTC #1. Currently in my first ever TWW. About 10dpo, I think. No great hopes for this month as I think our timing was off (DH works away). Thought I was treating it as a practice run. And yet the symptom spotting has begun in earnest... Despite being off pill for ages I obviously took no notice of what was going on as I can't honestly remember whether my boobs are normally this sore. And this weird saliva thing? Does that normally happen? Argh.

patienceisvirtuous · 18/03/2014 00:01

Welcome Moo :)

What saliva thing?? Oo sounds quite promising.

I am symptom spotting too - my boobs are sore (altho could be due to ov) and I am feeling pmt rage of epic proportions even tho it's too early for pmt.

OP posts:
Mooperson · 18/03/2014 01:16

My boobs are killing. Even keeping me awake (along with MN of course).

The 'saliva thing' is more saliva than usual, with a possibly imaginary strange taste? Of course I may have just read about this as a possible pregnancy symptom and internalised it. I seem to have slightly lost touch with reality this month! Thought it better join in to vent here as I'm generally considered quite normal in real life...

sparkbubbles · 18/03/2014 11:37

Hello ladies! My hubby and I TTC first baby, just came off pill a week ago. Excited and scared! Like some of you though, you promise not to obsess but hard not to at first! Good luck! xx

Braemar1 · 18/03/2014 13:12

Hi all,

Can I join too? DP and I are going to Florida in May and will be TTC from then...
Been reading loads in 'preparation' and went to docs yesterday as recommended expecting loads of questions and tests etc...
Nothing? Just got told to 'crack on'..
Is that normal? :)

Semirural · 18/03/2014 13:18

Hey Braemar, my GP said the same...I was expecting all sorts, but nope, she said crack on, and we are Wink

patienceisvirtuous · 18/03/2014 13:22

Hi Braemar! I considered going to docs too - but if that's the case I won't bother haha :)

No - I've done plenty reading and adjusted lifestyle accordingly, so I'll crack on for a few months and consider docs a little further down the line if needs be.

Jealous re Florida. DP and I are going to the Lakes and are sharing a caravan with my DPs so we'll have to be very discreet Blush

patienceisvirtuous · 18/03/2014 13:22

That should say 'the Lakes in May and...

Ha ha, discreet with parents, good luck with that Patience.. :)

I thought docs was a waste of time really, I lost one in 2012 following weeks of hyperemesis gravidarum, so had expected something to help this time!
As it is, I have read that I should up magnesium intake prior to conceiving to help prevent it happening again. We'll see soon...!!

Good luck with TTC :)

Seablue1920 · 18/03/2014 18:03

Hi all

I've been lurking around here for a while. I'm 26 and currently in 2nd month of trying. I'm feeling very frustrated at the mo because AF was due on Sunday and is still not here - I can't remember the last time this happened - yet all tests remain negative. Finding it hard to think about much else tbh!

Here's hoping we all get our BFP's soon!

CatFaceCrayola · 18/03/2014 22:07

Liking BFP...definitely my favourite so far.

A few of you have mentioned coming off the pill recently...has it sent you a bit loopy? My emotions are all over the show. Feeling ever so sad for no reason at all etc

it's bothering me somewhat

kitkat321 · 18/03/2014 22:46

Hello everyone - 32 and ttc #1 after 2 early MC's late last year. Was swithering about whether or not to try again or wait but what the hell :D

MrsHairspray · 19/03/2014 04:07

Can I say hello too? Started ttc January this year. Stopped taking Cerazette and I haven't settled into a cycle yet. Have my vitamins on standby ready for after my first AF. Just spent the last hour on Pinterest making a baby essentials board. Obsessed much! If only I could sleep.

Semirural · 19/03/2014 10:51

Mrs H, Pinterest secret boards are the best and an ideal place to hoard baby related cuteness away from real life - until the bfp roll in anyway! Is now the time to admit to a stokke brochure hidden at home?

It's so sad to think of people going through mc, must say I like your go for it attitude KitKat Wink

spence24 · 19/03/2014 12:27

Is there room for another?
I'm 28, ttc #1 with my OH, his #2 as he has an 8-year old girl with his ex-wife.
I'm currently on day 36 of what is usually a 29 or 32 day cycle, but a negative test on day 33, so a little frustrated and confused with my body right now!

MrsHairspray · 19/03/2014 13:28

Spence I'm the same, totally confused! I just expected my cycle to be a regular 28 days, I had no idea it would be this frustrating. I've been averaging 3 or 4 days on and then the same off! My poor DH, mood swings have been delightful. Ha.

spence24 · 19/03/2014 15:06

Hairspray this is why I'm confused! I usually have my moody PMS and a lower backache for about a day, 5 days before I'm due. I've not had that this month, but I also haven't had any other "symptoms" like sore/bigger boobs etc. My OH did say yesterday I was looking more "pert" than usual - but I'm very busty anyway, and didn't know if he was teasing me or being honest!!! Argh!

I'm self-employed and have a rare day off tomorrow - alone - so I think I will test again in secret, just for my sanity!

MrsHairspray · 19/03/2014 17:13

Only one day of pms, mr spence is a lucky man!! I've been horrible and my boobs have been a no go zone for about the last month. The furthest I've made made it to is a six day cycle before starting right over again.

Did anyone visit a doctor before starting ttc or did you just stop? I wasn't really sure if it was necessary?

spence24 · 19/03/2014 17:33

I had to have my IUD removed in January, and the doc told me then that it was just a matter of going for it, and taking my folic acid supplements - I was there less than ten minutes, for the whole thing, removal and all!
