Thanks you jesse, victoria and mama. I don't think its quite sunk in. Going this afternoon to buy some more tests so i can poas for dh Grin. Im peeing quite a bit today and all ive had is a cup of tea and a glass of water with lunch. lol I think im going to play it pretty casual with dh and when he asks me 'any news today' im just going to say 'oh yeah, we're pregnant.' ive been looking up ways to tell him all day, but its been such a stress getting pg i think i just want to keep the news simple. i just know he's going to be elated.

Victoria, that is so annoying. There is nothing worse than having to chase things, especially something that is so important. I'm sending out all my positive thoughts to all you wonderful supportive ladies on here. I will definitely be popping by and checking in on you lot, i don't really want to leave this thread Sad, this is where I got lots of wonderful information and the support I so badly needed. Thank you all so much from the bottom on my heart.

Enjoy your tropicana! Im convinced it was the smep though, who knows!

Martie1 · 01/04/2014 13:29

Thanks M33r!!!

mama31 · 01/04/2014 14:15

Martie the Tropicana is much nicer than the one I was drinking before :) had a large glass of it at lunch! I do smep usually, but sometimes end up dtd too much instead of eod. Will stick to smep (I say this every month) this month! Starting today! :)

Can't wait for our next bfp's ladies!!! Very exciting!

Martie feel free to hang out with us as long as you like!

Victoria my DH had to chase up his SA appointment with the GP 3 times as he was waiting a month. Then finally got a letter through after he last called within a week so I think they didn't bother the first time referring him! So frustrating. Now he's had his SA and was told would get results 4-6 wks!!! Given that his GP is so rubbish I told him to ring after 3 wks to see if anything was back yet.

The waiting game is so frustrating, especially when it can be helped if people do their jobs properly! Like we need any more unnecessary waiting added to ttc!!!!

So I was so happy for Martie I thought I would tell my DH how nice it was and that she had used grapefruit juice (we had talked about little things I could do the other day)....his reply- it doesnt matter.

Why is he such a knob sometimes how can I try to be positive about things if he cant be bothered to even try grrrrr

m33r · 01/04/2014 18:07

Thanks one! I'll be on tomorrow afternoon to share everything.

Congrats again martie!!!!!

lil1ady · 01/04/2014 18:45

congrats martie!! that's wonderful news!

Victoria sorry you've been let down by the DR's. why are they so useless sometimes. I've been let down in the past so I always mark in my diary when they said things will be done and chase that day if I don't hear. fx it comes through quickly for you.

well the appointment wasn't what I expected. was told we would see a consultant and it would be an hour app. we saw a senior nurse and were in there about 15mins Max, after being called in 30mins late. I have got an ovary scan booked for next week and I've got the go ahead to book my hsg. could've have done it Thursday but they didn't have any space. has to be done before cd10 so next month is likely out as I'll be on holiday. and apparently you can't try for pg in the month you have the hsg. never heard that before.

off to contemplate if I want a baby enough to drink grapefruit juice!

lil1ady · 01/04/2014 18:45

oh and good luck tomorrow m33r hope yours goes better than mine!

maybug3 · 01/04/2014 23:46

Wow Martie! That is the most amazing news. Cannot congratulate you enough! !!!

It's just what we all need to be reminded about. .. That it does and will happen for us all. Enjoy every minute and every moment of it all. X

Victoria - doctors are rubbish. Can't believe they've left you hanging like that. Hoe you have them hell!

Good luck m33r - let us know how it goes and I hope it's better than poor Lil - they just don't seem to get how important it is for us and how much we build hopes around our expectations only to be made to wait yet again.

AF got me today. Feeling low as anything as did my usual hopes raised for it to come crashing down all around me. Stuck in a hotel room in my own feeling horrible and lonely. Just trying to keep focused on my appointment with the new gp Friday to get things started. Hoping it will be straight forward given I came off the pill exactly 2 years ago this month.

mama31 · 02/04/2014 08:33

Good luck for today M33R! X

Sorry your app was so crap Lil!!!

Hugs maybug xx

Martie, on top of the world?!!!i bet! How did telling the news to DH go? I love hearing these bits :) x

Hope everyone else is doing ok??

I've ditched opks this month. Just doing all my crazy vits and grapefruit juice. Gona dtd when we want to. It's usually pretty often anyway. No pressure this month- no poas- no stress- just gona live my life, have fun, lots of plans for april to keep me busy so that should help. (let's hope so anyway)

Hi all, thank you so much for all your congrats. im so chuffed.

So y'day afternoon i headed out to buy some more poas incase dh wanted me to poas. There was a £1 shop next to the chemist so i called in and they had tiny baby grows- and one which said on the front 'instructions not included'- i couldn't resist and I purchased. I wrapped the baby grow and my positive stick from the morning in a box and put our address on it and some old stamps. I masked my writing. Wink when dh arrived in, he queried what it was, i played dumb. And so when he opened the box he looked at it for like 2 seconds, then snapped his head round at me and said 'are you pregnant?' with big wide eyes. To which of course I started crying saying yes. And of course being the most supportive dh that he is, he said, I told you, see you were worrying for nothing. He's so sweet and has always been so confident that this would happen for us [though i know at times he's been worried, thinking he knocked his jewels playing sport and has changed his underwear to boxer shorts as his favoured tighty trunks aren't good for the swimmers]. About 10 minutes later he realised that he has a designated driver for the next 9 months and was jumping around our kitchen about that, and then went into, you can't eat this and that mode and that this doesn't mean he has to limit his diet. Men! We're renovating our new home at the moment and despite being there grafting all day Saturday and Monday night, i was not 'allowed' to go last night, and am not allowed to get back until he gets a banister installed. lol.

I am now a little nervous, i poas again this morning as I can't actually believe it's true. i don't want to say it, but I keep thinking that something will go wrong, so it doesn't get any easier this side ladies.

Anyway ladies im making this my last post (i don't think it's fair to keep commenting, i do not want to breed any resentment on here which I know would not be intentional but only how we have all naturally felt at times.) I will continue to read up on your goings on, and will drop in with my congrats once this snowball picks up more of you. I really want to thank you all for being so supportive and full of information. I wish you all the luck in the world trying to obtain your bundles.

m33r i really hope your appointment goes well today and answers start to roll in. mama good luck with your smep, fight through the tiredness it causes Wink, blueberry stuff the doctor, I would definitely go with the signs your body is sending you, victoria i hope it all starts to get better for you, and the doctor starts to do their job! lil fx for your ovary scan next week, will definitely be weird seeing your insides!maybug good luck for Friday.

Over and out ladies xx

xBlueberry88x · 02/04/2014 13:22

Awwww Martie that is such a sweet way of doing it!!! Congrats again and good luck :)

I never trust doctors anyway really so we shall see

m33r · 02/04/2014 17:08

Ok girls I'm back from the appt with renewed faith in the nhs.

So they asked some basic questions inc my original 21 bloods and DH's sa. I recommend taking copies of the printout to give full picture.

She then gave me an ov scan which was fascinating to see. All the little (and one large) follicles were amazing. She then let me know that I could wait 8 months to see about tubes being blocked via an ultrasound or wait 3 months for a procedure under general anaesthetic.

Regardless of this result though, we're now in a queue for an ivf - circa 18months.

In the meantime then, we're 'unexplained'. As such, my opks, SMEP, and everything else is the bin. As far as I'm concerned I'm now just in queue for our baby...

I asked about lying on back after dtd (one I think you asked) and she said it doesn't make any difference. I asked about vits and she said only folic but others won't do any harm.

She was lovely and - as I say - have renewed faith in nhs.

Hope this helps and that you're all well. Any more questions, as away...

onelifeonechance · 02/04/2014 17:44

M33r that's great, thank you for reporting back! And thank you for asking about the lying down after dtd bit, always good to know the experts opinions on these things! Do you feel more positive now you know there's a plan? Hope so Smile Glad it went well. Out of interest did they tell you how many follicles they could see?? Have you decided about scan or surgery or have they left you to think about it?

Hello to everyone else! My eyes hurt from this Sahara dust!!!!! Confused Never thought I'd type that sentence........

victoria401 · 02/04/2014 17:51

Hi m33r, thanks for sharing. May I ask if you've been ttc over 2 years before getting this appointment?

m33r · 02/04/2014 18:13

one i do feel better now that there's a plan. I'm out if tww and into 18month wait. I feel strangely better about that. I'll be going for the op under general.

m33r · 02/04/2014 18:14

bictoria no, we got referred by gp right away after going t

m33r · 02/04/2014 18:17

Sorry...

Our gp referred us after 12 months and we waited 7months for the referral. We are now in a queue for ivf which is 18months from our year referral ifyswim. So by the time we're ivf-ing I'll be 2.5 years in theory. I think it varies with health boards though...

victoria401 · 02/04/2014 18:34

Hmmm coz we were told come back on month 25. Begged for these tests we r getting now (after month 15). She said could get earlier referral if there was something wrong with one or both though. By the time we get these tests til will be bloody month 25 the way its going. Can't believe wasted 7 weeks waiting for hubby's SA when they hadn't even referred him for one! Still fuming at that!

Jessewalt · 02/04/2014 18:48

Victoria, I mentioned to you a couple of pages back, I am not happy about you having to wait until month 25 - that is not in the national guidelines which states referral after a year. I appreciate there are differences in every health board, do you mind me asking the area you are based. You could always phone your local hospital and ask if they accept referrals after 1 year. Postcode lottery makes me angry.

Jessewalt · 02/04/2014 18:50

M33r - glad you feel positive, that is great. Another step forward!

m33r · 02/04/2014 19:03

victoria what jesse said. You should pursue this.., our gp wasn't very knowledgable but she got us to people who were. I think if you wait to month 25, you'll then be in the up to 24month queue for treatment (should it come to that). Good luck!

maybug3 · 02/04/2014 19:57

Hi all and thanks for info m33r

I was also told by my old gp that we had to be 2 years ttc before they would undertake investigations. I'm now there but have also changed area so may be different here but either way hoping for action this time. I was previously South Wales.

It chills me that I'm now 33... With waiting lays and delays through all the tests you've all described I will be much much older than I ever hoped for by the time I might have a bub. ??
