Allo ladies! Wondering if there are any other over 35's (apparently the age of fertility suicide, who knew?) ttc for over a year wanting to chat? If so, pour yourself some virtual wine and let the chatting commence!

Thanks everyone Smile Hopefully have a nice pic to post tomorrow eve!

Karmanna your DH is in for a nice treat later Grin

mampam · 08/05/2014 17:09

Forgot to say Ginger with last pg, hyperemesis started to ease at 16 wks....hoping it will be the same this time and not longer, fx.

AnnieHoo · 08/05/2014 17:48

Hi Birds!

I haven't tried acupuncture or reflexology but I've tried Softcups - they're not tricky to get in and out and you can't feel them when they're in. Same effect as elevating hips on the pillow / legs in the air but without the waiting around. Can't say it worked for us though.

I went to see OB/GYN consultant this afternoon who took bloods for testing for 1. Chromosomal abnormalities 2. Lupus Anticoagulant 3. Antisperm antibodies

He also took DH's blood for testing on Chromosomal abnormalities.

The tests results should be back in a few weeks.
I am also expecting tests from the 'products of miscarriage' which were sent away for analysis.

All this testing business is REALLY good because it gives me hope that progress is being made. I made a wee table in Word with all the tests I've had done by GP and showed that to the consultant - he said thanks it makes his job easier!

He told me I have to "lay off the crisps and chocolate" and lose 2 stone because he has seen weightloss help fertility many times and also the criteria for IVF has become much tighter in Scotland so if my BMI is over 30 I'll hit a brick wall.

I asked about continuing on Clomid and as soon as I get my next period I'm going to start again on 50mg days 2-6.

So diet starts NOW. No more champagne blow-outs!!!! ; )

I'm very driven in between sadness. Being a woman-on-a-mission keeps you going!

AnnieHoo · 08/05/2014 17:51

Forgot to say, all the best with your scan tomorrow mampam!

stubbornstains · 08/05/2014 19:07

Well, we attended the pagan fertility festival this morning, and not only did I manage to surreptitiously poke lots of people wearing greenery, but DS got handed a sycamore branch to wave during the dance. That branch is now adorning the headboard of the bed. Grin

Inshock73 · 08/05/2014 19:07

So much going on on this thread! exciting! :)

Good luck tomorrow Mampam

Annie crack on with that healthy eating! My fertility consultant said a healthy diet, especially a protein rich one, can really boost fertility!

I've just had my day 13 acupuncture, and don't know whether it's my imagination, pure coincidence or not but I have achey ovaries which is very exciting :) one little problem......DP working late again! Haven't seen him since Monday so might have to call on a neighbour or friend as really need to do the horizontal shuffle this evening! :)

Inshock73 · 08/05/2014 19:07

LOL loving it Stubborn

stubbornstains · 08/05/2014 19:30

Can you manage a 2am special inshock?

I suppose that's one advantage of being an insomniac- if we miss DTD in the evening due to tiredness, I often wake up in the middle of the night- and DP has let it be known that he never minds being disturbed!

Inshock73 · 08/05/2014 19:41

LOL Stubborn I have the same agreement with my DP! :)

Tranquilitybaby · 08/05/2014 19:49

Stubborn inshock both of your comments really made me laugh lol x

Annie I'll be your diet buddy from Monday I need to lost two stone too xx

stubbornstains · 08/05/2014 19:54

I lost 1.5 stone on the 5:2 diet, and it's not really that painful Smile.

It's supposed to have all kinds of health benefits, too- there's a Horizon programme on it, that will be knocking around Youtube I'm sure.

Although, based on a sample of 1, it hasn't done much for aiding fertility so far Hmm.

Inshock73 · 08/05/2014 19:58

Just told DP if I'm asleep when he gets in, no need for pleasantries or even waking me up just hop on board :)

Fankletastic · 08/05/2014 20:00

Wow! Lots going on here this week!

Welcome new 'old birds'! - lovey to see you here and hope you'll feel at home with us hens! I'm so impressed with your newfound mission Annie. Go girl! You just stay focused and strong and you can really get what you want. (But you're allowed a wee blub and mope anytime you need one).

I am doing ok thanks Kegirl. All of a sudden I am feeling very tired today. DH working away again this week and I've just got back from work and supermarket. I had planned to make a nice healthy dinner for myself...But I am soo knackered I can't be arsed so have ordered pizza and plan to get into my jammies and snuggle up in bed with The Sewing Bee on Iplayer.

Inshock a 2am shag is what did the magic for me! Go for it! (Not with a neighbour or a random though...this is not Easterenders)! Wink

spinning You have an actual fertility branch above your bed?!?! Oh wow, loving your work girl! Hope it does the trick. Will be interesting to hear how you get on...

Ginger thanks for posting that article. Very interesting- it's like DIY iui!. Ironically my letter from the ACU today about starting iui. The timing of this BFP is bloody amazing! I'm 5 weeks today so trying to remain calm.

mampam lucky you nearing the 12 week stage. Do you feel like the first trimester dragged by?? Good luck with your scan.

stubbornstains · 08/05/2014 20:07

Good to hear you're doing well fankle.

That's me with the branch. I am already fantasising about getting a BFP and pressing the leaves to post out to you all!

Fankletastic · 08/05/2014 20:11

Oops sorry Stubborn! So many ladies to remember now!

And looks like it's getting near the end of the thread....

AnnieHoo · 08/05/2014 20:19

Fankle ! Great to hear you're doing well and looking after yourself. Bed at 8pm is the best!

tranquil yeah let's lose it. I should have done it last year but have a huge motivation now (to go with a huge ass). I fancy the 5:2 stubborn will check youtube thanks!

And thanks ladies for making me laugh too! Smile

Karmanna13 · 08/05/2014 20:36

I'll join you for the dieting! Started this week and 4lb off but suppose it's always quicker in the beginning. I'm thinking if I get down to my ideal weight then I'm bound to fall pregnant cause of sod's law, and put it all back on again! [Grin]

Inshock73 · 09/05/2014 07:19

Good to hear you're doing well Fankle

Don't forget to update us on your scan today mampam

irma77 · 09/05/2014 10:08

Good morning everybody.

Annie, I'm with you with the diet! Due to PCOS, I've been eating low GI and exercising for 3 months now. My cycles still all over the place, but I'm losing weight slowly which it suppose to help. Will see. I'm controlling my calorie intake wit My Fitness Pal and it's helping me a lot.

Stubborn, I need to get me some sycamore, you have me all intrigued now Smile .

Inshock, the things we have to do, right?

Ginger, thanks for the article. Two days ago DP was joking about getting a turkey baster for similar purposes Confused .

Fankle, great to hear you're doing well!

Mampam, good luck today!

I'll poas on Monday Grin.

Tranquilitybaby · 09/05/2014 10:11

Erm I'm just catching up on this thread whilst eating a choc digestive dunked in my year. Oops Blush

Let's do this dieting thang! Well Monday for me, I'm doing Herbalife.

How is everyone in the 2ww doing?

X

Tranquilitybaby · 09/05/2014 10:12

In my year?! iPhone fail. My tea!

mampam · 09/05/2014 10:28

Scan not til this afternoon so will update this evening.

On the subject of diets, when I had my booking appointment mw told me I needed to join sw or see a nutritionist.....I politely declined. Admittedly I am overweight but I was for dc's 2 &3 and had no problems. Feeling like I do at the moment with the hyperemesis it is the last thing on my mind. I have actually lost weight with throwing up so much and barely eating.

Inshock73 · 09/05/2014 10:37

Irma I even found myself uttering the words "Don't worry just go for it it doesn't matter if it's quick" I never thought I'd hear myself say that :)
