Allo ladies! Wondering if there are any other over 35's (apparently the age of fertility suicide, who knew?) ttc for over a year wanting to chat? If so, pour yourself some virtual wine and let the chatting commence!

Thinking of trying the whole acupuncture/reflexology/abdominal massage thing to help me heal and stop the who's coming back. What would you recommend girls? X

Gingerbreadlady1 · 07/05/2014 20:53

I've played a bit with the first 2 tranquiliy but can't offer any advice as on the fence with it.

I'm having my fourth session of acupuncture tomorrow, roughly once a fortnight, I'm seeing an acupuncturist who specialises in fertility. With me we're working on nourishing and ovulation, in other words had acupuncture on day 1 to encourage a heavier bleed (worked a little bit) lengthen luteal phase, last month it was 12/13 days as opposed to the usual 11/12 days and then tomorrow is cd 13 so more needles to boost ovulation. Because I don't have any obvious reasons for not conceiving it's quite a general approach but they can work with specific problems like poas or anovulatory cycles.

Hi I'm quite new to mumsnet and have eventually read all this thread and would like to join in.
I'm 41 my DH is 37 and we have been TTC since June last year.
I got pregnant in Febuary and we were ecstatic, this is DH 1st time I have 2 children aged 16 and 12.
I had a MMC and am still trying to recover, I realise time is running out for us so want to get back TTC ASAP. Everthing is still very raw but I have found real comfort in reading all your stories, hope I can join your coop and talk to people who understand all my worries and fears

Inshock73 · 07/05/2014 21:50

Hi Tilly welcome to the coop! Sorry to hear of your loss. We're a supportive bunch on here :)

Inshock73 · 07/05/2014 21:53

Just read you read the deleted message Stubborn seriously i don't get these sodding trolls get a life!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 07/05/2014 22:22

Welcome in tilly, really sorry to hear of your mc. This is a great place to get support. (Seriously impressed you read the entire thread!)

It took 2 days but I'm off sick at the moment and I have more on my hands

KEGirlOnFire · 08/05/2014 07:09

Morning all,

Yes I read the deleted post aswell, literally minutes after he/she posted and reported it straight away. After being on here nearly 6 years I've managed to pick those that don't look genuine and a quick search on the nickname showed that the post was the first and only under that name, classic troll behavior. What the person put was beyond cruel hence my reason to report. Then 'soft-ass' me started to wonder if it might be true and I'd been mean!! Shock Luckily MN confirmed my initial thoughts. Phew!!

Welcome Tilly (fab name - my gorgeous doggy has the same name Smile). We are an incredibly friendly bunch!! So sorry for your MMC. There are a number of us who have had similar experiences along the way so you will get lots of support here.

I am seeing my friend who is getting in touch with her Mum. She's going to give me free reflexology so I'm looking forward to starting that. Luckily I've been monitoring my cycle enough to be able to give her chapter and verse on the workings of my body!!

I'm also going down the Agnus Castus route (although because I OV not sure whether to take it whole cycle or just post ovulation - does anyone know?).

Horrible soggy day down here - yuck!!

Where's Mampam gone - we need to hear about the progress of one of our success stories ;-).

Fankle, how are you getting on hun??

Big waves to everyone!! Smile

irma77 · 08/05/2014 08:26

I'm really interested to hear your opinions about angus castus. I've read very positive things about it, but I read as well that here in Europe is very difficult to get the right dosage. Has anyone heard this too?

I started taking inositol, but it's too early to see any difference.

By the way, just in case somebody finds my English a bit odd, it's because I am Spanish living in the UK.

Gingerbreadlady1 · 08/05/2014 08:47

Good morning, crap weather up north too.

I found Angus castus def seemed to help me regulate my irregular periods. Got it from holland & Barrett. Think I took it every day of my cycle. Did anyone see this article (gonna try to post pic)......

Hi tilly waves!

Ah you are going to try agnus cactus/vitex kegirl - I'm on the fence about it as my luteal phase is about 12 days which is ok isn't it? I've read mixed reviews, although they seem to be more positive than negative.

I'm going to start taking Serrapeptase a supplement that aids healing of scar tissue, adhesions etc just in case there's anything inside my other tube and it'll help with the laproscopy scars too hopefully.

X

Gingerbreadlady1 · 08/05/2014 08:50

In the metro the other day. Interesting but not sure we're at that stage....

I've been lurking on the May bus thread and a lady on there has just announced her BFP (she's 43) and she spoke about using a cup to keep the sperm close to the cervix, I wonder if it was this! Thanks for this Ginger I'm off to do some research!! :)

KEGirlOnFire · 08/05/2014 09:39

I guess that the advantage of that Ginger (aside from the cost), is that it's £100 you spend once I guess? Assuming it can be reused?? Whereas IVF is only one chance for £1000.

I think I would struggle to use it, I don't even use tampons (find them too uncomfortable to put in) so wouldn't even know how to do it!!

Interested to hear about the woman on the May thread though... Sounds like it's definitely the same thing.

mampam · 08/05/2014 09:50

Frantically waving to Ginger and KEGirl ......I'M OVER HERE! Grin

I'm always lurking behind the scenes Wink

I'm 13 weeks tomorrow and have my first scan then too. I know I'm being irrational but I'm dreading it. Petrified they'll tell me something is wrong. I think it's because I know that this will be the last time I'll ever be pg even if it does go wrong. I can't put myself and my family through this again re: hyperemesis.

Anyway I'm just being silly.

Will let you know how I get on.

I see there are some new old birds Smile

It's DS's birthday today, poor soul has had to go to school and in the pouring rain too Grin

Sorry for jumbled post......posting from DH's tablet rather than my laptop which dd2 has stood on and buggered the screen!

Tranquilitybaby · 08/05/2014 10:15

Good luck with your scan mampam post some pics when you get back x

Gingerbreadlady1 · 08/05/2014 11:14

You're not being silly mampam it sounds horrendous, will it continue throughout the preg?

I've also lurked on may threads inshock, 2 40+ pregs in a couple of days! Always good to hear. I'm gonna try softcups, much cheaper, and use them after dtd. Can't hurt, don't think ill tell dp tho, tmi I think!

kegirl consider Maca, I forgot about it but going to start again. Look at naturalfertility website, got loads of good info on there x

OP posts:
spinningirl10 · 08/05/2014 11:23

Hi ladies, I too have read about the softcups, not sure I could use them! I read up about them and sounds tricky to get them out!!

Good luck with scan MampanGrin

Gingerbreadlady1 · 08/05/2014 11:26

Hmmm, gonna do more research. Here's a link (if it works)

Hi mampam, good luck with the scan!

I got a positive OPK today, but it's been so long I've forgotten what to do next - is it all systems go straight away or is it best to wait for a day or so? I used to be an expert on this ttc malarkey but it's amazing how quickly you forget things!

Gingerbreadlady1 · 08/05/2014 14:44

I'm no expert karma as evidenced by lack of up-duffness but I would aim to dtd as much as poss for next few days.

KEGirlOnFire · 08/05/2014 15:41

Karmanna, you OV between 12 and 36 hours from a +ive OV test so you need to crack on hun!! Smile

Mampam, good luck for tomorrow hun - looking forward to seeing the pics!!

Ginger, thank you, I'll have a read.

Waves to everyone!!

Karmanna13 · 08/05/2014 16:55

Thanks KEGirl and Ginger. I shall jump DH as soon as DS is in bed! Grin
