Sending berry vibes for today parsley. Thanks

IamKuma · 02/02/2014 10:30

Hi feather I'm still here just lurking; I rarely get time to sit at my laptop and post and I find trying to type on the phone app a real pain. Anyway, CD 4 here; AF did arrive last week, my last four cycles have been 23, 27, 23 and 23 days. Cycles were always short, about 26/27 days but this is really annoying. I wonder if it is psychological as its the last 4 months that I have been having tests an getting bad results. Either that or my body has just given up. I read on the internet that really short cycles could be anovulatory, which isn't what we want..... Anyway, NHS follow up appointment to get test results is Thursday and private FC appointment a week on Monday so I may get some answers, even if they aren't good ones.

vagina jack made me laugh - a speculum, I assume Wink

Good luck today parsley I hope it isn't too emotionally draining.

barking sorry you are feeling blue Thanks; your wedding will be wonderful. You will spend the whole day having fun, you will have no time to think about bumps and it will fly by so fast that you will wish you could do it all over again. I'm sure the other married Berries will back me up on this one.

Parsley2506 · 02/02/2014 10:40

Definitely agree with kuma, your wedding is all about you and Mr Barking, other people's bumps won't even register. It will be amazing, promise!

Is a list being compiled? Here are my stats
parsley 32, 22 months ttc #1, au naturelle BFP cycle 18 ended in MMC at 11 weeks. 2nd cycle post MC, trying to stay positive!

BlueBirdy · 02/02/2014 11:34

Speculum! Yes it's called a speculum! - thanks Kuma (In my mind it was basically similar to a car jack) Anyway have looked into it more and don't think turkey basting will help us as DH morph is so bad that it will take ages anyway.

Kuma do you not use OPK's or temp? You may Ov earlier than usual but still have a normal luteal phase which may not be so bad. Hopefully the FC will figure it all out for you anyway!

Barking good to hear the adjuster works for you, they are not 100% and don't work for everyone. I know it is no comfort now, and you will feel the same about any baby you have, but the baby you have one day will never have existed if things had been different now. When you do finally have and hold your baby, you wouldn't want to change her for the world! (At least that's what I tell myself!)

Was talking to DH last night about the lengths we would go to financially to get pregnant, and it will be a struggle or it may completely cripple us, but we will do what ever it takes to get PG. The chances are that it WILL happen within 3 cycles, and so I am telling myself that this year I WILL get pregnant and have a baby. And that has made me pretty darn happy.

Barking I agree with Kuma, the wedding day will fly by and will be even better if you can hide the fat cow in the kitchen while you're having fun.

barkingtreefrog · 02/02/2014 12:58

Thanks kuma, lady and parsley, I think I'm having a bad day because I'm still injured. Our wedding is in the middle of a weekend away in the hills. My consolation for not being pregnant was that I was going to be able to do a particular fell run that I've wanted to do for ages, and have all my friends with me. Now that's not going to happen either, and at my current rate of recovery I won't even be able to go for a decent walk and I'll be stuck in with the bumps. That's what's scaring me and fueling the not fair feelings for today!

RevoltingPeasant · 02/02/2014 13:03

Cannot copy n paste properly on iPad so could someone kind please add me?

RevoltingPeasant 34, ttc 'properly' since May 2013, DH erectile dysfunction issues and me retro cervix, hopefully starting GP testing in March

RevoltingPeasant · 02/02/2014 13:04

Barking what's the injury? I have received amazing running injury treatment from local osteopath. What treatment have you had?

barkingtreefrog · 02/02/2014 13:09

It's a knne injury, rp. I've been having physio and I thought it was sorted but this week it's started hurting in a different place and it's painful just walking a short loop of the park with the dog Sad . I've not been able to run since Christmas.

RevoltingPeasant · 02/02/2014 13:16

Oh no :(

Is it the muscles over the knee? Because my physio once told me that many runners have knee injuries which are in fact related to overtight muscles pulling on tendons. She reckoned if you stretched out quads thoroughly it would help.

Knee injuries are a bastard though. Have you tried biking instead? Or aqua jogging if you can get a belt? Looks daft but would keep up fitness!

barkingtreefrog · 02/02/2014 13:50

I've had knee problems for years and do daily physio exercises to stretch and strengthen all the right muscles. The injury in December was tendon damage and inflamation where it connects to the muscle. The pain is now round by my it band though. I'm sure my physio can sort it out and it's probably partly to do with having had to rest it, as running actually helps keep the muscles strong and the knee caps stable. Debating whether to get on the turbo trainer or just not risk it in case it's still inflamed. The circuit training I did on Friday was all on my arms and gut as I avoided anything working the legs. Probably why I'm still in agony two days later!

RevoltingPeasant · 02/02/2014 15:08

Ooooh IT band nasty. I used to go on one of those foam rollers at the gym for ITB - really hurts but helps keep the kinks out. It is crappy, though.

tigerdog · 02/02/2014 19:42

hello everyone, hope you're all having a good sunday.

pip I hope you're ok, and well done for being so brave.

barking sorry to hear you are having a bit of a crap weekend of it. Time for a positive focus on the future and your wonderful wedding. It sounds as though you have worked so hard and put so much of yourself into making dresses etc - it can't fail to be amazing.

rp it must be tough coping with the ED issues as well as the usual madness of ttc, but don't give up - sperm can live for up to 6 days in the apparently!

Happy Birthday feather! You should enjoy yourself without feeling bad about it!

parsley hope you managed to get through the day. Its not quite as bad, but I am dreading a friend's baby shower in a couple of weeks. I guarantee that at least one person will ask when we are having kids, plus all the cooing and baby talk generally Hmm

Lol to the vagina jack birdy! I was curious!

So, to all those that temp, is it worth doing? I did it for a month, had a fairly standard looking chart and then OH got too annoyed with the early alarm and bleeping thermometer (although he would be much more sympathetic now) so I stopped. I have regular 28 day cycles (give or take a day) with a 14 day LP and tests have indicated that I ovulate, so not sure what additional benefits there are to temping - advice please?

CatsCantFlyFast · 02/02/2014 19:46

Tiger if you've only temped one cycle how do you know you have a 14 day LP every cycle? (Sorry if that sounds provocative, its a genuine question)

tigerdog · 02/02/2014 19:46

tigerdog · 02/02/2014 19:49

Not at all merk! I use opks, and other checks for signs of ovulation, and always have 14 days from a positive to af. Am I being too presumptious that this means I have 14 day LP?

barkingtreefrog · 02/02/2014 20:21

rp, yep, I use the foam roller every morning!

Parsley hope today wasn't too bad.

tiger you can ovulate from 24 to 36 hours after a +opk. You can also have a surge but not ovulate. If you temped once and all was ok then there's no reason to think it's not. My cycles aren't regular so I like to monitor what's happening.

FeatherFeather11 · 02/02/2014 20:38

Please could someone add me? On annoying phone etc:

Feather, 35 (!), ttc 'officially' since Nov 2012. 6 x Clomid = 1bfp Nov 13, which ended in ectopic. Waiting on next af and hsg to decide on next steps.

Gillster · 02/02/2014 21:33

So was at FC at 7:50 this morning for day 3 baseline blood tests. Returned home for breakfast and a powernap, then returned back to FC for dildocam at 11am (thank goodness we live close). All was OK so got the all clear to start stimming this evening. First injection done about an hour and a half ago so I guess that's me on the IVF bandwagon now!

Gillster, 39 (just), TTC 24 months. Unexplained infertility. Just done first IVF injection on short protocol.

CatsCantFlyFast · 02/02/2014 22:38

Congrats Gill. Here's hoping this cycle is successful for you (and the side effects of the drugs aren't too bad)

RevoltingPeasant · 03/02/2014 08:24

Morning all!

Gill did you start stimming last night? How do you feel?

Tiger, Merk will know much better than me, but i have found my cycles are sometimes quite variable, which I never would have known without temping for several months! It might be worth doing it for 3-4 mos to check you definitely stick to a pattern. Some women's LP changes, I believe.

AF due Weds/ Thurs and I am symptom spotting like crazy here, despite having messed up my OV date and therefore dtd timings. I think it is probably technically physically impossible that I am pg but that is not stopping me Hmm My main symptom is needing to wee in the night a bunch of times. DH says I probably have Type II diabetes Hmm My other 'symptom' is being able to smell his breath really strongly, although I kindly didn't mention that one!

Somebody smack me....... I will never learn!!!
