The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 6+months (preferably 12+) NO instadiffers, must have a special pot and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooooh aren’t we strict!

The 17th thread, wow! This had better be it ladies, time to get off the Sofa of Pity onto the Pouffe of Positivity and beyond!

Evening!

Briefly spoke to somebody tonight who had a child after 7 years of trying, via ivf. Baby is nearly one and they have just discovered they are pg again, by accident! Children will be just 18 months apart. Looks like her body reset itself, the body works in mysterious ways!

BlindKitty · 27/12/2013 23:29

My friend had 3 goes of ivf (1 ended in mc, 2 failed), then had an iui (against medical advice) and bfp. Then 2 years later got pg naturally!

barkingtreefrog · 28/12/2013 07:12

cd24 and still not ovulated. I know I only had spotting and not a proper AF but I really thought the clomid would have done it's job anyway. Trying not to get stressed about it. I was ovulating before the clomid (although the short LP was probably not helping) but since the mc I didn't ovulate naturally on the first cycle, I didn't ovulate on the provera + clomid cycle and now I appear to have lost AF and the ability to ovulate even on clomid Sad .
What I can't help hearing in my head is the nurse at epu saying that if I responded well to the clomid it's a really good sign for ivf. But I don't seem to be responding to it anymore at all, I'm not even ovulating Sad .
Feeling quite helpless.

barkingtreefrog · 28/12/2013 07:17

And we're missing pipbin and sparechange from the list. Is sparechange still posting?

FeatherFeather11 · 28/12/2013 09:13

barking remind me again what dosage of clomid you are on. What it 50mg? My FC told me right at the start of my clomid taking, that 50mg doesn't tend to work for most people, and that they alway try out first round on 50mg to see how your body reacts. I think you should ask for your dose to be upped - I got my bfp after I begged to be put on 150mg after 100mg for four rounds was hit and miss. I really thing you need to have a chat with your doc/fc. Not being monitored is just absolutely ridiculous and dangerous. Is there an alternative FC you can go to in your area? How they're treating you is just so wrong.

Still at the MiL's over here and starting to get at little tetchy due to lack of space. Af finally stopped on Boxing Day so I'm CD9 here. No idea whether I'm coming g or going and finding it difficult to work out what my temps mean! 55.4 yesterday and 55.8 today - is that a weirdly massive increase? FF app is being crap so have just been writing temps down on a bit of paper.

How is everyone else??

FeatherFeather11 · 28/12/2013 09:38

Oh, gawd, funky didn't mean to be insensitive. Can only see one page at at time on my phone. I'm sorry you are going through all this and having to wait. Life is so unfair sometimes. look after and be kind to yourself. Flowers

BlueBirdy · 28/12/2013 10:05

Hey Feather I think FF may not like your temps because your temps seem a bit off - normal range for body temperature is 35ish to 37ish degrees C (or about high 90's if in F) (sorry, don't know exact 'normal' range). Also for charting bbt it is usually advised to use a thermometer that records to 2 decimal places. I may be wrong, but I don't think your '55' readings can be right. Hope you get it sussed, and get your space soon!

Sorry your cycle is still messed up barking! Hopefully a change in dosage will help. If not, they still count as cycles before you get to IVF, so at least you are getting somewhere. Re what the nurse said, IVF is for when other treatments DON'T work well, so even just for peace of mind maybe don't take what she said too seriously.

Love hearing about those types of stories Bunny and Kitty!

For anyone interested, www.ivfpredict.com/index-1.html predicts your chances at a successful cycle in IVF. I'd come across it before, but at our appt yesterday our Dr used it and took note of my 'result'. It came back at 36.2% which is apparently pretty good. Still there is always more chance per cycle that it won't work, but still a way better chance than not having it! Also I mentioned acu to her and she highly recommended it, and said it was the only thing that helped her when she was suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum. Also, when I mentioned that DH and I were on the pregacare conception tablets she said that there had been a study that had shown that it had improved IVF success rates compared with generic standard Folic Acid tablets. The only thing that bugged me at our appt was that apparently the don't like IVF babies to go past there due date, which I suppose means that they would preform a C-section, which I would rather avoid. I wish I had questioned her more on this at the time, but I think my brain was pretty full by then.

Anyway, have a good weekend berries!

BlindKitty · 28/12/2013 10:08

barking unfortunately a lot of clinics don't monitor on clomid (stupidly) but you could do it privately? I considered it as at least you'd see how your follicles are responding to it but it'll cost you

BlueBirdy · 28/12/2013 10:08

Lady - 34, TTC since Jan 2012, unexplained, chemical after IVF#1, awaiting IVF#2
Bunny - 33, TTC since June 2012, DH low count, me PCO, ICSI starting very soon
Feather - 34, ttc since Nov 2011, six rounds of clomid, bfp in November which ended in Ectopic. Deciding on next steps in early 2014
Aquarius - 32, ttc 20mths, diagnosed with endo, awaiting follow up FC apptmt
Birdy - 30 - TTC around 26 cycles, DH low count, 1% morph, starting ICSI early 2014
Happylass - 35, 13 months of TTC but currently on a break due to wedding purposes. Starting back after one more cycle - sod the dress! Currently awaiting HSG.
Gillster - 39, TTC since Feb 2012. Just had fibroid removed but otherwise unexplained infertility. Starting short protocol IVF in Feb.
barkingtreefrog - 34, ttc since January 2012, clomid bfp ended in mc in Sept, cycles not returned since.
Kuma - 39, TTC 13 cycles, high FSH, low AMH, low antral count so generally a bit stuffed. Next NHS FC apptmt in March, likely to go private before then.
Boodle - 30 - now on my 31st cycle if TTC. Unexplained infertility with slightly low amh. Clomid failed. Now in the IVF process, long protocol, hoping to start early spring.
Yorkiebilb, 35, ttc since Sep 2012. Mmc Dec 2012. High fsh, good amh. Possible immune issues. Fx starting egg sharing ivf mid Jan. Long protocol.
Funkymonk, 31 (32 almost here). TTC since Nov 2012. MC July 2013 (5+2). MMC Dec 2013 (identified at 8+2). 2 lots of medical management but bean still in there refusing to leave. In limbo until 8th Jan when will prob be ercp. A miserable sniveller.

tigerdog, 33, ttc 12 cycles. Initial FC appointment in January. Berry newbie but glad to be here whilst aiming for a bfp.

CatsCantFlyFast · 28/12/2013 10:17

Blue who is the they that don't like IVF babies to go past due date?? Everyone I know that is/has diffed with IVF has had consultant care but been able to go to 40 + 14 as normal. Plus nobody can make you be induced so it will always be your choice once you're diffed

FeatherFeather11 · 28/12/2013 11:04

Yes, blue, my pesky thermometer seems to be playing up. It did once do two decimal places but it recently stopped. Also, I personally hate the FF interface! So old fashioned and fiddly! Might look for a better app to do it in.

Did that ivf predictor and I got 31.9. I don't believe any of that sort of thing though - we're not one size fits all, and you hear about people getting pregnant and staying pregnant against the odds all the time. I like to think that there's more to this baby making than stats! Science, yes, but 9 generic q's on a website is a load of old crapola.

Bunnygirlie · 28/12/2013 11:24

Ohbarking that's crap. Sorry things haven't settled down, are you back to see the docs soon?

I got 35.7% on the ivf success thingy, hope that's a good sign!

As for me, AF is coming I can tell, I reckon she will be here tomorrow so stabbing Monday! How nervous am I!

BlueBirdy · 28/12/2013 12:46

Merk my fertility Dr said that. She said most IVF babies are on the smaller side and also that they (don't know if she meant her team/the clinic/the NHS/the HFEA?) don't like them to go past their due dates due to any risks, and I was just thinking if they are smaller, then what is the risk of them going past the due date, but by then she was on to another topic which distracted me from my questions. I'm glad you mentioned that, as last night I imagined having to go AWOL if I felt it was right. I think if it was all safe then I would definitely wait until the baby was ready!

Feather haha, I know what you mean, but stats seem to make me feel better (or at least give me a realistic idea of how things are, rather than get my hope up or dash them completely). 31.9 if still really good though, anyway Grin

Bunny good luck! FX it will work first time for you!!

funkymonk · 28/12/2013 19:42

Bunny, are you first with IVF journey? When's the big day?

That's shitty about your cycles barking. Seems that maybe increased Clomid is worth a try. How are your cycles after ectopic feather?

Welcome Tiger xx

funkymonk · 28/12/2013 19:45

I did a cb digital this morning which is now showing pregnant 1-2 rather than 3+ so I must have lost more tissue than I thought after the first medication dose. Hoping that it continues to drop before 8th Jan so I can avoid the surgery. Very very strange to be wanting a pregnancy test to be negative. After months and months of studying ic with a torch trying to desperately see even a hint of a line, its most odd. A horrible feeling.

BoodleDoo · 28/12/2013 20:25

Funky, i hope things are sorting themselves out and you'll be able to avoid surgery; what an absolutely shitty thing to have to be wishing for though. Sad

Mega evil AF going on over here, as usual. The only positive is that it will be over for New Years. Back to a 9-10 day luteal phase though, which is depressing.

Bunnygirlie · 28/12/2013 21:16

Evening all.

birdy seems odd for ivf doc to be discussing the birth before the pregnancy?!?

funky I am so sorry you having a grotty time, it seems especially unfair at this time of the year, hugs and Flowers

boodle Nasty AF for Christmas, poor you!

Thought AF was about to arrive but she appears to be taking her time! As soon as she does I will start jabbing on CD2.

Wow bunny! Not long now! How exciting!

FeatherFeather11 · 29/12/2013 12:24

I meant IVF not af re excitement btw!

Bunnygirlie · 29/12/2013 12:24

It doesn't feel very yay! Obviously as its my last AF for a long time (check me out with the positivity) it has come with a vengeance! Off for a stroll to try and exercise it away, drugs ain't working today!

Just playing the 'what day do I count as day 1' game. TMI just a little pink when I wipe at the mo so usually count full day of red as day 1, do the berries agree?

Hope everyone is ok?
