Feather are you taking your temperature at the same time each morning?

Report

Yes-ish! Around 7.30-8am...does it look a little nuts?

Can't help with temps I'm afraid feather have never tried it

Well I guess CD1 will be tomorrow then! And NYE is jab day Shock

bunny I agree, day 1 tomorrow

feather your temps seem all (almost) within a degree of each other. Do you use opks as well? Would be easier if you can post a link (no idea how you do it though!)

Feather I think at a glance your temps look fine for pre O. Most people's temps are erratic during and just after AF, settling only a few days pre O. Can't remember if it was you saying you weren't keen on FF, I'd recommend sticking with it purely for the amount of data on which it is based (hence much much more accurate at pinpointing and predicting O)
Good luck Bunny Grin

CatsCantFlyFast · 29/12/2013 19:42

Also one final point Feather, are you taking your temps when you wake up naturally? That would affect them... You need to set an alarm at least 30 mins prior to the time you would wake up naturally and take them then

Report
ladybunnikins · 29/12/2013 19:44

They seem to vary quite a lot day to day but at the beginning of my cycle they are often quite irregular.
I managed for ages with a thermometer which only read to one dp but I've changed to a 2 dp one from amazon, I think it was about £5.
Ideally you should be taking your temp as soon as you wake up, without getting out of bed, at the same time each day.

Report
BlindKitty · 29/12/2013 21:25

My downfall was always reaching for the glass of water before I took the temp because I sleep with my mouth open

Report
FeatherFeather11 · 29/12/2013 23:29

Thanks for the advice ladies! merk, yep, taking my temp the second I wake up (setting my alarm) and then going back to sleep over the Christmas hols. Will give FF another go. lady I think this thermometer is the one you're talking about only since I changed the battery it only give me one decimal point instead of two. Think I'll treat myself to a new one. kitty using opk's but erratically. Did one this evening and no second line.

Wondering if my temps are a bit erratic for two reasons: my cycle may still be trying to regulate after the ectopic. Also, and I know this is not something I should be doing, but I have not been holding back on the booze (at all!) over Christmas and have had more hangovers in the last two weeks than I have in months. Feel like I've just needed to let loose a bit after the last couple of months, and maybe it's been a bit of a (foolish) coping mechanism. Plan to stop after NYE.

How's everyone else?

Report
BlindKitty · 30/12/2013 08:19

feather my temps have never been more stable than yours even the cycle when I got pg. they can vary within a degree. Re blow out, I think you are absolutely right! I have myself the whole if June off (trust me, I was very naughty!). It was great! Plus my friends loved having the old me back if only for a month!

How exciting Bunny although I know it's a mixed bag of emotions. There will be a lot of us right behind you very soon; you won't be in the Berry IVF Waiting Room by yourself very long

As for me, I have a decision to make. Have just found that the specialist consultant appt has been set for me for mid-Jan, 1 week after CD1 (which would be the start of my IVF cycle, if I weren't seeing this consultant). Appt is likely to be a major waste of time as I've already had specialist advice on this subject, and the medication I was taking that's been in question is no longer being prescribed for me (as per last week) so I'm off it, whether I like it or not (so far, so good though) - so seeing a specialist for advice on whether this tablet is OK during TTC is a moot point.

So, I have to decide if I want to a)see her anyway (not even sure how much the appointment will cost, if anything - and this lady is apparently shit hot so not likely to be cheap), b)politely decline the appt and tell my FC why, c)request to start IVF in 2 weeks and see her (or not) 1 week later, or d)see her or not, but start IVF in 6 weeks.

I have a raging cold and want to be as strong as possible for our first cycle - physically this would be hard, but waiting would be tough mentally as every day I become more convinced I'm "childless for life" and even though I have no real reason to believe it, it's hard to push it aside. My birthday is soon and I feel like Jack Bauer trying to defuse the bomb that is my biological clock. What would you guys do?

By the way I scored a 19% on the "will IVF work for you" quiz, as opposed to my FC giving me odds of I believe 36% based on my test results, so I'm going to choose to believe the FC's opinion Hmm

Adding me to the list:
Lady - 34, TTC since Jan 2012, unexplained, chemical after IVF#1, awaiting IVF#2
Bunny - 33, TTC since June 2012, DH low count, me PCO, ICSI starting very soon
Feather - 34, ttc since Nov 2011, six rounds of clomid, bfp in November which ended in Ectopic. Deciding on next steps in early 2014
Aquarius - 32, ttc 20mths, diagnosed with endo, awaiting follow up FC apptmt
Birdy - 30 - TTC around 26 cycles, DH low count, 1% morph, starting ICSI early 2014
Happylass - 35, 13 months of TTC but currently on a break due to wedding purposes. Starting back after one more cycle - sod the dress! Currently awaiting HSG.
Gillster - 39, TTC since Feb 2012. Just had fibroid removed but otherwise unexplained infertility. Starting short protocol IVF in Feb.
barkingtreefrog - 34, ttc since January 2012, clomid bfp ended in mc in Sept, cycles not returned since.
Kuma - 39, TTC 13 cycles, high FSH, low AMH, low antral count so generally a bit stuffed. Next NHS FC apptmt in March, likely to go private before then.
Boodle - 30 - now on my 31st cycle if TTC. Unexplained infertility with slightly low amh. Clomid failed. Now in the IVF process, long protocol, hoping to start early spring.
Yorkiebilb, 35, ttc since Sep 2012. Mmc Dec 2012. High fsh, good amh. Possible immune issues. Fx starting egg sharing ivf mid Jan. Long protocol.
Funkymonk, 31 (32 almost here). TTC since Nov 2012. MC July 2013 (5+2). MMC Dec 2013 (identified at 8+2). 2 lots of medical management but bean still in there refusing to leave. In limbo until 8th Jan when will prob be ercp. A miserable sniveller.
tigerdog, 33, ttc 12 cycles. Initial FC appointment in January. Berry newbie but glad to be here whilst aiming for a bfp.
SidneyBristow, 38, TTC 18 cycles. Unexplained. Private IVF cycle to start no later than mid-Feb; bricking it.

Argh! So annoying! Just wrote a big long waffle and accidentally deleted it.

Anyway, sid I would go for option C or D - either way, I'd see the specialist. I'm taking the "sling everything I've got available at ttc in 2014" approach. Hoping you're feeling better soon. Flowers

bunny hope the jabbing goes well tomorrow!

And thanks all for your temp advice. I have no idea about it so very appreciative of your help and knowledge.

Actually I now realize that an IVF cycle for me will start on CD21, not CD1 - so, I won't starting til ~Jan 30. No way am I ready to start on this cycle's day 21, which would be Thursday, mentally or otherwise - it couldn't be arranged in time and I haven't got my meds anyway. So, I have the month of jan to gear up, which is kind of a relief. I'm still torn about the specialist so I think I'll email the FC and remind her that I've seen a similar specialist back home, and offer to supply her with his notes. My preference is to save my money and not set myself up for being frustrated by wasting everyone's time - I really think the only way I'd happily see the specialist is if the FC says they won't do IVF without her approval. (Which I really hope was never a possibility anyway)

I only scored 12.5% on the IVF predictor. Still it's better than 0 I guess.

I've got my baseline scan on Friday but I've started bleeding again. Called the clinic today but they didn't seem too worried.

Hi berries, hope you're all doing ok, (I don't post too often as we've been going it au naturel) fingers crossed for IVF starters in 2014 and thoughts best wishes to those having a tough time and all those undergoing tests etc.
Our first TTC anniversary has come and gone and still no BFP so we've been to see the GP who has booked a blood test for me next week to check progesterone levels and see where we go from there. (DH tested previously due to other health issues and he is all good).
I am interested to know if anyone has tried using a chiropractor on their TTC journey? I have had to use one recently for a back injury and one happy side effect of the treatment was that my period pain was virtually non-existant on my last cycle. I've been looking into it and there are limited and (slightly biased!) studies into infertility and chiropractic treatment and effects, any thoughts?.....

I have added myself to the rather impressive list :) best wishes for 2014 and BFP's all round x
