Here we go again.....

The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 6+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot) and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooooh aren’t we strict!

Hello all, I'm a non-teacher berry who is still around dipping in from time to time. I've been keeping a low profile though as I've not had much to add; we've been going au naturel with a GL diet, Miss West's supplements and acupuncture (for me). First TTC anniversary next month so we'll be making an appointment soon to see our GP to talk tests etc. Best wishes to all berries and whatever you're going through, you really are a supportive and inspirational bunch x
Re-adding myself as its a been a while!

CharmingCats · 20/11/2013 20:02

mrsw. Yes, shoot her!

CharmingCats · 20/11/2013 20:04

I missed my berry-versary. I think it was last month. Cake

Parents' evening part two complete and now time for a bath with DH. Rock and roll.

Pipbin · 20/11/2013 20:28

A bath with DH Cats? Sounds like a good night.

Well I was sure AF was going to show today. Heavy spotting and then lots of proper red this morning. However, nothing all day, just a tiny bit of light spotting, nothing more that slightly coloured cm really. It was a little annoying actually because the sooner she turns up then the better chance I have of getting it sorted soon.

CharmingCats · 20/11/2013 20:48

AF is so annoying like that. The last few cycles, I've had v bad boob pain from ov to af, but nothing so far 1 wk post ov. Just when I thought I understood.
Sudden horrible thought: are hot baths ok in the 2ww? It wasn't scalding, but it was v warm.....

BlueBirdy · 20/11/2013 20:54

GAH! MrsW what a stUUUpid thing for your 'friend' to say! Think you are making a good choice anyway, nobody needs the stress of a different job when TTC, pregnant or with young baby. And that's all still to come Smile

I'm not a teacher berry, but had got most of the way through an Open Uni degree with the intention to go on to get a PGCE. Then I decided the job I'm in already is waaaaay easier than dealing with all the crap teachers have to deal with, so decided to come to terms with being an underachiever instead Grin

Hope you feel better soon Foody and Sid

Charming! Cake Have fun Wink

Hi Snow, hope it doesn't come to it, but if/when you do see Dr you tend to have a bit of weight lifted of your shoulders, hope things go well!

Pip hope things become clearer for you tomorrow!!

RevoltingPeasant · 21/11/2013 08:58

Pip really hope I'm not out of line in suggesting this, but is there any reason for you to poas at this point? I mean, any way the last cycle could have been effective, as your AF doesn't seem to be normal?

AF is making up for lost time over here :( Had to miss usual morning swim today due to flooding. Yesterday I was at an open day stall from 3.30-6.30, standing up talking to people, in a cream skirt (why did I do that?), mostly concentrating on keeping back to wall in case... argh.

Charming I'm sure it is fine. I go swimming all the time during mine! I don't think it'd really get thru the cervix :)

Pipbin · 21/11/2013 12:56

Well RP. AF isn't actually due until Friday or Saturday. If she hasn't shown up by Saturday then I might poas.
I normally get a week of nasty brown sludge and then the first red blood is on day one. This time I've had more than the usual amount of spotting with about two days ago and not much since.

Hmmmmmm

Bunnygirlie · 21/11/2013 16:10

Alright ladies!

Hi snow

Happy berry-versary cats how are you?

Hmmmmmmm indeed pip

My drugs have arrived, now I'm freaking out a little!

CharmingCats · 21/11/2013 20:34

er, I meant the heat of the bath rather than the water itself..... Grin

Yay to the drugs bunny !

My clinic are trying to over charge me for a scan at the moment. FFS. Doesn't fill me with faith when they can't even invoice correctly. I know it's not the admin guy that does the scans etc, but jeez!

RevoltingPeasant · 21/11/2013 21:19

Sorry Charming Blush if it helps when I read the response to your first post I thought it said you were taking a bath with cats which seemed kind of ... novel. Honestly thoug I think heat will probs be fine.

Pip hmmmmm I do wonder. Fx for no AF tomorrow at least! One day at a time.

So Bunny when do you start drugs?

V v long day at work today - whole bunch of horrid stressy emails flying around but I also saw the first review of my new book and it was really positive :) how is everyone else?

Aquarius1 · 21/11/2013 21:46

Hi berries - I've been AWOL and haven't managed to catch up with threads - was feeling a bit low but the lovely bunny encouraged me to come back and so here I am. Have been ttc 19 months , age 32, finally just had first FC apptmt. Have been referred for a lap as i have suspected endo (agony & gastro problems every month). Will then get moved to IVf but not sure if we want to go there... all happening a bit suddenly. i have been told to fatten up to get my bmi at 20 or more - it's 19- anyone else had this? personally feel like I have enough "cushioning" but if a doctor's saying I should eat more pies I won't say no! Have also been told to cut down on drinks - to 3 glasses of wine /wk. bit stingy in my view- again, anyone else been told this?? Sorry if I'm going over old ground& you've all had this chat already....

Ps. I'm a non-teacher

Bunnygirlie · 21/11/2013 21:53

Booooo to bad invoicing cats

RP drug starting all depends on AF, likely to miss 1 (or maybe 2) month because of Christmas/new year. Only time will tell!

Bunnygirlie · 21/11/2013 21:59

Yay Aquarius is back Smile

Pipbin · 21/11/2013 22:59

Hi Aquarius. Nice to see you back, although of course we all wish we were all meeting the copter.

Gillster · 21/11/2013 23:18

Hi Aquarius - welcome back! Given that my BMI is around 26 then I definitely wasn't told to eat more pies! I do think that if your body fat is pretty low then it messes with your hormones which is probably why they'd like you to put on a few pounds. As to the alcohol, I said I drank a couple of glasses of wine per week and that was fine as long as I stayed within the recommended units (14).

Yay to the drugs Bunny!

Pipbin · 21/11/2013 23:34

My BMI is very close to the point where they tell you to go back when you've eaten less pies!

Pipbin · 21/11/2013 23:45

More bleeding. I think AF proper will be here by morning. I'm going to call the clinic first chance I get.

barkingtreefrog · 22/11/2013 07:26

Hi Aquarius Grin . I was told by the gp that I just scraped the lower bmi requirements and if I'd been lighter she wouldn't have been able to refer me. The fertility clinic haven't mentioned it at any point though.
I went tee total for over a year when first ttc, then the nurse at the fertility clinic said a glass of wine now and then wouldn't hurt so I started allowing myself the occasional glass before the tww, but not in it. Since the mc I've been a bit more slack but now I'm back on the clomid so after this weekend (shag week next week) I'll be taking it right back again. It's partly because in the spirit of doing everything possible I'm trying to be healthy (and for me alcohol is less of a temptation than cake and chips), partly because some reports suggest alcohol can reduce fertility and I'm not taking any chances, and partly because - you never know - I might actually get pg again and I wouldn't want to touch a drop if I was, even in the very early days. That's a paranoid personal thing because I've had some experience of children with foetal alcohol syndrome and it doesn't take an alcoholic mother every time. Everyone's different though, I think as long as you stop as soon as you know you're pg (which for any berry will be a lot sooner than any woman who isn't trying) then you're ok she says with a gin hangover Wink Shock

pip boo to more bleeding but fx for a speedy start to your ivf bfp Thanks .

barkingtreefrog · 22/11/2013 07:28

Grin for your book review rp

Aquarius1 · 22/11/2013 08:26

Thanks for the welcome ladies.

Well done on your book RP- fiction or non fiction?

Hope the clomid goes well for you barking. And hope the drugs work bunny

barking thanks for sharing re alcohol and weight. I did cut down for a bit in the early months of ttc but just felt it was a bit pointless as no sign of a baby. Need to start being more positive about it all (and replacing g&ts with pies)

Happy Friday everyone Grin

RevoltingPeasant · 22/11/2013 08:54

Oh Pip let us know what the clinic says. Sad, but cycle 2 will be your time, I bet!

Oooh barking you put me to shame. The office cleaner who is for some reason convinced I am pregnant keeps telling me off about my caffeine intake ('Is not healthy for you, I think' on seeing the mound of coffee cups in the bin) Confused I definitely drink alcohol outside the 2ww. I dread to think what my BMI is now - it used to be about 23ish but I have got really lardy over the last 6 months.

thanks aquarius non-fic, boringly - I am an academic so only 3.5 people will ever read that book, and it's nice to know one of them liked it!

Pipbin · 22/11/2013 12:31

AF here properly. Nice cycle though, 28 days to the hour!
Called the clinic and they said that if they can't do it this cycle they'll call.
