Here we go again.....

The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 6+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot) and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooooh aren’t we strict!

RP weird cycles just mess with your head! It ain't over till the witch arrives though :-)

barking hope you get some sleep Hun!

Boodle9 · 18/11/2013 22:57

Oh Barking, not a good day at all! I hope your pupil progress meeting isn't a raking over the coals. I'm dreading this week as I've got to do them for the people I line manage at school. I know that sounds silly, but I still have my own to go through too and I hate making other people feel like shit! Teaching is so hard at the moment and I just don't see it getting better with all this performance-based pay coming in. I have a friend who has been told that her target is for all children to make outstanding progress. If her overall average isn't outstanding, she fails performance management. Ridiculous, much?

Boodle9 · 18/11/2013 22:59

Time to set up some kind of Berry business venture so we can all pack in our jobs?! Yes? Grin

Foodylicious · 18/11/2013 23:02

Its all a pretty similar set up in nursing boodle I have all my supervisions to do for those I manage and sort my own out too. They keep wittering on about performance related pay but the supervision/pdp structure is pants and not robust enough for them to be able to enforce not giving people due pay rises. Yet.

Foodylicious · 18/11/2013 23:03

lets all go to Thailand and buy a bar!

RevoltingPeasant · 19/11/2013 08:36

AF :(

BlueBirdy · 19/11/2013 09:39

Sad sorry RP You knew it was coming but we couldn't help getting all hopeful for you! Good at least that your LP's are longer now!

SidneyBristow · 19/11/2013 10:33

RP Sad really sorry. Being late is just cruel. By the way, how great are mooncups, right? I started using one several months ago and it's the only good thing about AF showing up. Although sometimes I wonder if seeing exactly what's being discharged is a good thing...easy to wonder if a period really is a period, or something else - especially when you're a bit late

barking hope today is better for you; bunny's right, time for an emergency wine & eggs run to the shops!

Foody at the Berry bar can I please be the one who puts the umbrellas in the fruity drinks? Loving the suggestion; the main reason being that babies are not allowed in bars and we'll all soon forget this TTC crap bag!!

Exciting day for me ahead, not. Polypectomy going through since AF seems to have gone so spare me a thought at about 3pm. God I am tired of spreading my knees for randoms and pretending that what they're doing isn't bothering me mentally or physically...

FeatherFeather11 · 19/11/2013 12:28

Good luck today sid. Thinking of you.

rp sorry af got you. Man, I hate her.

Hope everyone else is well. Could someone pls add me to the list? Am on my phone as usual.

Feather, TTC since Sept 2011, six rounds of clomid, ectopic in November 13. Not sure what's next.

Foodylicious · 19/11/2013 15:04

Sorry AF got you RP Sad
Thinking of you sid shame there is not some sort of award for the best kept [ahem] lawn?? the amount of viewings they get! Hope it goes ok and you get some rest after, cosy in with duvet and film on sofa perhaps?

Back at work yesterday, was so tired after I was really sick in the evening (burst loads of blood vessels on my face too Sad) and then had a migraine which kept me up till after 3. Worst one I have had in ages, was actually groaning out loud at times. Made it to work for 10 today but left by 2.30, In bed now. Off tomorrow thank god.

Hope today went ok for you barking

Bunnygirlie · 19/11/2013 18:25

Oh RP that's crap Sad

Sid how did op go?

How is everyone else?

RevoltingPeasant · 19/11/2013 20:03

Thanks all. Yeah, I knew I wasn't pg - but how weird is that, a 15d LP after a 10/11day one the month before....

Anyhow, resetting the clocks for CD1!

SidneyBristow · 19/11/2013 21:20

Well I survived. The only saving grace was that the consultant was borderline campy and very funny and chatty so although it was awkward and rather painful, it wasn't as bad as it could've been. One promising thing, he said there's been a study of women with fertility problems who also had polyps, whereby half the pool of women went on for IVF without having had their polyps removed, and the other half had them removed and then went on to IVF. The "removers" group had a statistically significant higher rate of success with IVF, so the supposition is that polyps might emit some sort of chemical or hormone which changes the womb to be not as hospitable to pregnancy as it would otherwise be.

Could be complete bunk but I'll cling to anything that makes me feel like I'm solving whatever our problem is.

Achy and sore and will be bleeding for a few days but I'm so glad it's over. Early night for me x

Foodylicious · 19/11/2013 21:40

Rest well sid Flowers

CharmingCats · 19/11/2013 21:56

Well done Sid x

CatsCantFlyFast · 19/11/2013 22:01

Good news Sid. Lets hope that's 'all' it will take for you to get that bfp

Gillster · 19/11/2013 22:06

I'll go along with that Sid, hoping the same applies to fibroids. Did they say how long you should wait before starting IVF?

Look after yourself, you should feel loads better tomorrow.

Pipbin · 19/11/2013 22:50

Boodle I have to do observations tomorrow. I feel such a tit giving feedback to people who have been teaching longer than me.

I had my appointment with the IVF clinic today. I was hoping to start from my next day one, which should be 23rd, but they suggested that they might not be able to do that one as it might not work out for egg collection due to Christmas. Still, having to wait another 4 weeks isn't the end of the world.

Do you remember that when I was having my egg collection there was a woman in the next bay who only had one egg taken? Well, while chatting to the nurse, we were talking about the odds etc and she said that someone recently had only had one egg collected and it had fertilised and the woman is now pg. Isn't that lovely?

Boodle9 · 19/11/2013 23:36

That is lovely, Pip, but you are an absolute saint sometimes...I suspect I'd just end up feeling jealous...

I know what you mean about observations...one of my appraisees had been teaching 4x as many years as I have. One of the others is older than me but I don't have a clue about her background...suspect she's been at it longer than me as well!

RevoltingPeasant · 20/11/2013 08:14

Aww Pip that is lovely! and it is sort of hopeful, isn't it?

Foody in my mardiness yesterday I totally missed how ill you were! Flowers

Sid ouch. So wait, is the polyp now gone? If so maybe the worst bit is over for you :) Also, I think it's so important that you got on well with the consultant. Really nice when you feel relaxed and that they are engaging with you!

yy to feeling like a tit during appraisals. Mostly, I end up just using them to nick ideas from other people Blush

Bunnygirlie · 20/11/2013 08:29

sid hope you are feeling better today x

pip damn Christmas grrrrrrrrr lol that's the reason I can't start this month too. I agree with boodle it is lovely about that lady but I'd be well jel!

Are there any non-teacher berries left?

SidneyBristow · 20/11/2013 09:02

Bunny I don't teach, although I did do a graduate degree in education. Thought about dusting it off and looking for teaching jobs here but all the talk about marking & horrible parents and explosive kids has put me off a little! Blush

Pip That's lovely about the one-egg lady; she must have been so worried and it's nice for her that it worked out. I read the Egg Buddies threads sometimes and they have a saying that "it only takes one" (ioto.....took me forever to realize what it meant). Really hoping that your "one" happens during this next cycle, and sorry that they've pushed it back Thanks Looks like there may be a lot of Oct '14 Berry babies Grin

Foody how're you feeling today? Migraine gone? Thanks

I am feeling a bit better today. In hindsight I suppose it was an interesting experience, having someone point out where my tubes feed into my uterus, and was a relief being told everything up there looked totally fine and that it's possible that the polyp being gone might be the trick. It was a bit surreal, having this guy draw the female reproductive system and then hold it up to his own crotch so I could see where everything lay Hmm, but as I said he had kind of a "I'm one of the girls" vibe going on so the whole thing was kind of amusing rather than overwhelmingly awkward.

and yes, I do think there should be points awarded for a nice lady garden Wink, but I am 100% sick of random men sticking things up there!!

mrswalker13 · 20/11/2013 09:28

Bunny I'm another non teacher though like sid I'm qualified so I suppose former teacher is more accurate... I do miss it sometimes. Or I miss the teenagers, the actual teaching, not all the other bits. Appraisal system just as bad here in the silly service though.

Am very down today. Had a chat with a friend yesterday - ha, friend - we were talking career progression. I said I wasn't applying for a particular development programme because I felt like it'd be misleading them; my focus is on starting a family not career. She said she thought that was foolish because I was passing up a 'real chance' for one that isn't certain and I should think about being 40 and not having a child or a career Angry

She's just back from second mat leave Angry

Will add myself to list later when I have more to say than mrsw, 35, Sad Angry Sad Angry Sad

Foodylicious · 20/11/2013 11:11

Shoot her mrs, save a lot of other people from her and shoot her now.
What a stupid insensitive bitch. That and she is just WRONG too!.

Still a bit headachey here, still in bed, should get up soon but I am just sooo tired. work 10-4 tomorrow and 10-1 on friday then back to full days next week. Only one way to find out of I am up to it, though have a feeling I am not. Also sick of being self indulgent moany cow when I really shouldn't be. Just so bloody tired.

And christmas interfering with your IVF bunny & pip is another reason it should be banned.grrr. anyway limiting myself to 5 mins on the comp at a time, bye for now!
