Here we go again.....

The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 6+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot) and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooooh aren’t we strict!

OP posts:
Tallyra · 02/11/2013 19:19

congrats lady and feather!!!! and it definitely comes in threes or more so someone else must be joining us soon!

Tally, 16w already, Hyperemesis finally gone into hiding, yay!

FeatherFeather11 · 02/11/2013 19:45

Thanks all! Not getting too excited yet. No that I've calmed down. Off to dinner with friends now. No wine for me! Will do another tomorrow to be sure.

We will all be bfp'd before you know it.

Merk & lady - would never have done FRER without you two saying to xxx

ladybunnikins · 02/11/2013 20:10

Feather have you told your DH? What was his reaction? My DH is still in denial, doesn't want to get his hopes up until we've have the blood test on Tuesday. I dragged him into a Kiddicare shop today but even I felt like a fraud being there!

barkingtreefrog · 02/11/2013 20:15

Sounds like you're doing really well Tally Grin . Are they still keeping a nice close eye on you?

Tallyra · 02/11/2013 20:36

thanks barking. I've been having weekly scans til this week. but reducing appts now, they are happy for every 2 weeks now. I've finally got my head around it which is good because I'm starting to get baby/steroid weight on my face as well as my belly.

RevoltingPeasant · 02/11/2013 21:00

Feather !!!!! Massive massive congrats Grin

RevoltingPeasant · 02/11/2013 21:07

Eurgh I feel really mean, but can someone just please tell me if I'm a massive bitch? Bil and sil are down with DC. This has been planned for a few weeks now and the plan always was that we'd go swimming. We went last time they were here and their DC loved it. DH and I always go on a Sun.

Tonight sil announced she hasn't brought her suit as she has gone off swimming. Bil will take the DC in but as he can't manage them on his own can we go in with him in the children's pool instead of lanes and help sort the children out?

I think I am probably being really horrible but I find that entitled. So we skip our normal workout to babysit sil's children whilst she fecks off and has a coffee in the leisure centre cafe? Please tell me why I should be jumping at the opportunity... I'm sure iabu.

ladybunnikins · 02/11/2013 21:41

She's gone off swimming? But she's just talking about paddling around in the pool with children, not actual swimming! And what do they do about swimming when they are not visiting you, does your BIL have to manage by himself then? Is something else going on, e.g. body confidence issues/AF/pregnancy?
Personally, I love taking my niece to the pool, but it's more splashing than swimming.
How many children are there? Could your DH and BIL not manage by themselves while you swim properly?

RevoltingPeasant · 02/11/2013 21:47

Lady dunno about AF, but even so..... I suppose she could be pg though I think unlikely - they have 2 DC and don't seem to want more. Deffo not body confidence as I've seen her in pools or at the beach loads before. She is a size 10 max.

I am not sure she really sees the difference between playing with DC and swimming. It's also just the casual announcement, no sense it might be a pain.

I probably am being a bitch, but I do find them quite hard work sometimes.

BecauseIsaidS0 · 02/11/2013 22:18

Ask her to look after DC while you two waltz off to dinner tomorrow evening.

Adding myself to the list...

Bunny - 33, TTC since June 12, had lap 3 weeks go, next step DH sperm freeze and IVF/ICSI

BecauseIsaidS0 · 02/11/2013 22:19

Hey RevoltingPeasant, you and I are in sync!

barkingtreefrog · 02/11/2013 23:07

RP I agree the problem is mainly the way it has been announced and assumed rather than requested. That would get my bristles up as well. I would probably have asked her whether the DC were going to be in the pool before or after I'd done my workout Wink .

RevoltingPeasant · 02/11/2013 23:36

Ah I'm just going to suck it up. Am not good with Other People's Kids though and I have to say being responsible for someone else's 3 yo who is too shy to speak to me in a crowded public swimming pool for half an hour is a little bit like my idea of hell.

At least there have not been any offensive comments about ivf this visit, although we did get the little dig at working mothers, who leave their babies up to 12 hours a day with strangers but that's okay because it works for them Smile Smile

And yes that was a PA smiley!!

yorkiebilb · 03/11/2013 00:02

Huge Congratulations feather and lady!!!!! Very pleased for you both. Currently v drunk after night out with dinner and karaoke. Feeling a little bit guilty as told DH he can't have more than 2 glasses of wine on a night out and I've just had 3 cocktails plus 5 sambuccas! Drunken hypocritic springs to mind! I need it after disastrous iui plus wonky next cycle. Sleep well my berries. Did I say I was drunk?! Oh and a vodka and tonic. Oops!

BlindKitty · 03/11/2013 07:42

feather f*ing YES!!!! Get in!!' Oh and Madame, it was ME who told you to do a FRER! I'm taking all the credit thank you Grin! Ah love it when I'm right Wink

BlindKitty · 03/11/2013 07:49
Gillster · 03/11/2013 08:26

Massive congratulations Feathers! It seems that the odds were stacked against you but you've managed to overcome them.

Can someone add me to the list:

Gillster, 39, TTC since March 12, FC appointment on 5th, fibroid removal op on 20th.

CatsCantFlyFast · 03/11/2013 08:32

Hold on, hold on kitty, i was first to suggest feather tried something other than an IC. Don't be stealing my thunder GrinGrinGrin

barkingtreefrog · 03/11/2013 08:44

Oi! If you pg berries can't stop fighting you'll not be allowed in anymore! Keep the noise down, it's very important we're all relaxing in here Wink .

^^

FeatherFeather11 · 03/11/2013 08:55

Now, now Berries! kitty oh gosh sorry! It was you and merk and then lady told me to do it yesterday rather than my plan for this morning. Thank you all otherwise I would have kept doing IC and drinking Wine not knowing!

kitty scared to join the copter yet! Too early and intimidated a little. Plus, I'm not ready to leave here!

Thanks yorkie, gill and rp - thank you! Your turns next! This is a v lucky thread!

rp your sil sounds like mine - a right pain in the a*se. Hope you get to have your proper swim while the Bil and oh look after the little'uns. Know what you mean about Other People's Children - I'm a bit like that too. Flowers

Someone asked how I told oh earlier in the thread. It went down like this: OH was on the phone re work so I went and sat on the bed with the test under my pillow. Finally, he came off the phone and I asked him to come in to the room. He sat down on the bed and I handed him the test and he burst into tears - in the 10 years we have been together, I have only seen him cry once before. So we both basically sat there laughing and blubbing and saying 'can't believe it' and 'we can't get too excited yet' and 'what if the test is wrong?'

Did a digital this morning at 5am - pregnant!

Took all my strength not to tell our best mates last night. Think they knew as they're aware we're ttc and know how much I love a wine to six usually. Grin

DO NOT TRUST INTERNET CHEAPIES!

ladybunnikins · 03/11/2013 09:06

Ah, that's so sweet, that's what I wanted from my husband but he's still not believing it. (Plus I've only seen him cry once in 7 years.) Congrats on the digi!
I had a look back and yes, Merk was the first to suggest using a digi and then Kitty suggested a Frer. I also liked your rant, Feather, on 29/10, "Basically I'm screwed and never going to get pregnant." Smile

Thundercatsarego · 03/11/2013 09:06

Oh my actual god congratulations feather!! Just had a tear in my eye with your story Thanks

FeatherFeather11 · 03/11/2013 09:17

Ha lady - I was obviously having a hormonal moment!

Thanks so much thunder - can't believe it! As I said before though, I really had everything stacked against me, so if it can happen to me, then everyone should know that they'll be ok.

Know it's early, and know anything can happen, but just the fact that I now know that I can get preg is a relief. Have spent 10 years with no contraception and no 'accidents' so just didn't think my body was ever going to play ball.

CatsCantFlyFast · 03/11/2013 09:26

~Tiptoes back in so as not to annoy barking~

Feather have you done an IC today just to see if its showing positive yet? (And an OPK, that's interesting too)
Ps- get a photo of your digi, the screen goes blank after a couple of days!

Good job on the yellow brick road barking, I
expect you're back on it this cycle

FeatherFeather11 · 03/11/2013 09:34

Not yet merk but will give both a go soon. Didn't take a pic of the digi as I forgot it disappears - may have to do the other digi one now too.
