Part 2 this way!

We had 6 BFPs in just over a month on the first thread, so here's hoping the luck continues.

Ahh thats good [smiles] my DS has been very quiet and cuddly this week, think he may be missing my DH. Yep the whole situation is! It is really hard not to stress about it! I really wanted to look into other job opportunities too, cause I work till 6 three days a week, and it’s just too late to get in with DS. I leave at 7:30AM too, so such long days. When does your mat leave end?

donnas1984 · 07/11/2013 22:00

kt i have my first mw appointment tomorrow morning looking forward to getting my notes it will seem more real! will update when om out x

Kt1991 · 07/11/2013 22:05

ooh good luck Donna, what times your apt? let us know how it goes! Smile

HungryHorace · 07/11/2013 22:22

I'm meant to go back on March 6th, and I'm dreading it. :-(

I'll have to leave at 6.30am and would get back at 6.30pm. It's too long and I can't do it. :-/

Awww for your DS being cuddly while DH is away. It'll be lovely when your DH is back.

Hi all! Lots going on. Happy birthday to Donna and Lucy's dds!
Hungry / Lucy did u both get pg very quickly first time? Can't remember. I did it at all the right times last month and nothing and then this month again and bfp. So I can't remember which of u was saying that it's 25% chance each month even when u do it on right times but that helped me reason it. If that makes sense! Do u def want to be preg in next cpl of months according to that!
Hungry do u know what your dd has? My baby has thrown up all his food all day. He has some kind of chest thing and I've been given an inhaler to try but it's since then he started being sick. What to do?! It was a milk tsunami at bedtime!
Thanks for thoughts on trying to get scan pre Christmas. I will be12 weeks all being well on 20th dec so cutting it pretty fine! Might do some white lies to persuade them. Had more symptoms today (bigger boobs and sickness) which aren't fun but I find reassuring.
Sleep well!

lucyjojo · 07/11/2013 23:13

Ooh KT that is a long day at work, it's so hard getting in from work and then having to deal with feeding yourself and putting a child to bed when all you want to do is put your feet up and close your eyes for a few minutes! I love seeing my DD obviously after not seeing her all day, but it is hard work!! My DH works 4 evenings a week so I do solo bedtime those evenings, only 3 out of the 4 are days I work though luckily. I soo know what you mean about people asking about ttc no 2 too, it's so annoying when they ask and I know they don't mean to be hurtful and insensitive but maybe people should consider what is going on behind closed doors before they ask!! My mum is getting quite bad for it actually, she keeps saying things like by now I had a 6 week old to deal with too, or mentioning that she saw a newborn baby. Everyone keeps saying how DD needs a sibling. I think I will just tell my family come christmas if still no success. I've also been thinking about going to the drs in the new year if we still haven't had any success, it will be 7 months trying in Jan, which I suppose isn't a year, but I'd like to just know what is going on sooner rather than later.
Oh Hungry I so hope you get your bfp before you have to go back to work. Whats the bleeding situation like now? Sorry for the very personal question!!
Good luck for tomorrow Donna!

lucyjojo · 07/11/2013 23:16

Hello toothpaste! Yes it was very quick with DD, second month of trying but we didn't exactly give it our all in the first month. I know I'm making it worse for myself by stressing about it but I can't help myself!! I'm trying to convince myself to give it another 3 cycles before I'm allowed to really worry. Sorry your DS is also poorly, the poor little things! Hope you and he both manage to get a bit of sleep tonight.

HungryHorace · 07/11/2013 23:36

Toothpaste, cycle 5 last time, but the first month we really went for it, DTD wise! So I naively thought that'd do the trick this time. Hmmmm.

The GP just said a virus as she was well in herself. She'd had a snuffle as well which is why the generic virus diagnosis. It's scary when they bring up that much milk, isn't it?

I hope your DS improves quickly.

DD appears to be getting into a nice sleep / eating routine finally. I've not pushed her really, apart from the little bit of sleep training for naps this last week. Hopefully we can prove that babies do find their own way eventually!

Lucy, the bleeding is confusing me. It really is a bleeding annoying situation. I'm not sure it's AF now. Again. It's gone back to watery blood, no clots. I've no bloody idea what to do / think. I'll POAS tomorrow again though!

Toothpaste, I mentioned the 25% thing. Doesn't help me stay non-pissed off! :-)

Gosh, Lucy, your mum sounds a bit full on. Can't you ask her to stop? Must be frustrating.

Good luck tomorrow, Donna.

Good morning everyone, how is everyone doing?
Donna - good luck for your midwife appointment today. Let us know how it goes and we can both compare notes.
Toothpaste - sorry your DS is poorly too, it's this time of year. Just thinking about your scan. My midwife told me on weds that the hospitals won't do it early unless there is a concern and they also don't like to do it late. It has to be done apparently between 12 weeks and 12 weeks plus 6 days over as a max because they like to get the measurements as accurate as possible. Sorry if that's not what you want to hear and the only reason I'm saying it is because my mw has put me down as 10 weeks today but I'm not sure how accurate that is based on them using my withdrawal bleed off the pill as my last period but she said that when I go for the scan if they can see at the scan that I'm under 12 weeks I will be sent home and recalled to do it again. Could you not maybe consider going somewhere for a private one, if you can spare the cash? If you're that desperate (like me) and can't wait that's a good idea. I am waiting for my scan appointment as it should be end if this month or early dec so not too long to wait but I will treat myself to a private one at 20 weeks as well as the hospital.
Hi Kt, Lucy and Hungry - don't panic yet about becoming pregnant by Xmas. There's still nearly 7 weeks to go which is nearly two months. I think doctors usually say anything up to a year of trying is not long so just bare in mind. I hopeful for everyone on here. Luckily I didn't get anyone ask me if we were trying for another.
Hungry - how is your DS?
Could have stayed in bed this morning but my DS dragged me up. I'm ringing in again today which means I will have had two days sick and go back next weds. I just hope that scan is soon and pray everything is ok so that I can tell work and they will be understanding about appointments and sick days etc. If my due date stays the same, which is 6 th June I think I will work until end of feb and go on leave on 1st march as March would be holiday I have to take and may leave would start April. Looking at it like that, there's not a long time left at work as I finish for Xmas on Friday 20th dec and go back on weds 8th jan. Feb is always a short month. Fingers crossed though for all of this as I'm still nervous until I've had my scan. Having said this, I look big round the tum. Hungry - I really hope you won't be going back in March. You all have long days at work, it is really hard. I do 3 days and leave the house at 8am to start at 8.30am and finish at 5pm. I'm home at 5.30pm but I still find it long and tiring. Ooh to win the lottery... X

HungryHorace · 08/11/2013 12:02

Hi Mrs, DD is much better today, thankfully. Back up refusing to nap, ha ha. :-/

I only have to try for 6 months thanks to being over 35 before before allowed intervention. I hope to not take that long though.

But as I'm having a proper WTF cycle this time god knows when my next chance will be! I really need to either start AF proper or stop bleeding. It's so annoying. If no joy this time next week I may see about going to the GP to see what's going on. Prolonged bleeding isn't normal.

Sorry you're still feeling exhausted, Mrs. I hope you start to feel better after the weekend.

If I had got pregnant this cycle I'd have had to go back for 5.5 days before taking 6 weeks' leave then starting mat leave on the first date possible. I'm not sure there's still hope, though who knows?!

OP posts:
mrsm22 · 08/11/2013 12:47

Hi Hungry - I'm glad your DD is getting better. DS is asleep in the car at the moment. DH is going to work soon. Your bleeding has been a bit strange and it's hard to pinpoint why. It could be worth mentioning to a doctor just to get their advice. If you do have to go back to work for 5.5 days that's not bad at all. Were you full time or part time before you went on Mat leave?

Metalhead · 08/11/2013 12:54

Hi ladies! Just thought I'd pop in to see how everyone is getting on. Seems like I haven't missed any more BFPs since I was last on here, though your bleeding sounds very suspicious Hungry. I would definitely mention it to a doctor if it carries on and you keep getting BFNs.

No news here, I'm currently in the 2ww as I'm having quite a long cycle this month. We've decided to have a break next month if this cycle doesn't work to avoid an end-August baby (and so I can enjoy a few drinks over Xmas!).

Hope everyone has a nice weekend!

donnas1984 · 08/11/2013 13:26

Hi guys Sad
well my booking apt was a disaster. mw couldn't even guess a due date as my periods never came back and reckons I might only be 6 weeks! even though I got a bfp more than 6 weeks ago! 2 veins collapsed trying to take blood she never tested for CO2 as there were no breathing tubes left and didnt check my bp which is now sky Fking high! Angry

HungryHorace · 08/11/2013 14:24

Bloody hell, Donna. That's utter nonsense. How can she say 6 weeks in that situation? Surely you're 8-9? I'd contact the head of midwives and ask for another appointment with somebody else.

In other news, I think AF is actually here after loads of false starts! Bang on schedule.

Soooo...I either put it down to bloody Pregnacare and see what happens next cycle (bearing in mind I was fine the cycle before without Pregnacare, and I OV'd on the day expected) or I treat it as a progesterone issue and get some progesterone cream in, in case it happens next month, as apparently that can really help.

I'm going to tell work as soon as I know as I'm hoping they will want to pay me off as even 5 weeks at work isn't really worth it, is it?! They're making people redundant, so I can hope. :-)

Otherwise I'll probably resign and look for something here. I'll actually be better off on maternity allowance as my 90% at the moment is 90% of SMP. At least with MA it's the flat rate of £136 or whatever it is. No enhanced package for me.

I'm thinking that maybe my body knows it's too early after my EMCS so it's protecting me by not allowing a pregnancy right now. Got to have a positive somewhere!

OP posts:
mrsm22 · 08/11/2013 16:33

Hi Donna - Oh my God, that's disgraceful! I'm so sorry for you. Ring and ask to see another midwife. Like you, I haven't had a period since coming off the pill but she still worked out roughly 9 weeks for me and a due date and sent off for my scan. They can confirm how far you are at the scan. There may be more than one midwife at the surgery. My mw gave me a list of midwives in the area that I can contact if I ever can't get hold of her. Were to given the same, if so you could ring one and try explain you'd like to see someone else. You were looking forward to this, how awful to be disappointed like that. I hope you're ok. If I can help at all, let me know. I don't know whether I could speak to my mw and see if she has access to finding others in different locations. Where are you again Donna?
Hi Metalhead - Good to hear from you. Sorry you having got a BFP yet.
Hi Hungry - sorry you've got AF. Maybe your body is still a bit all over the place from not long ago having your DD.

Kt1991 · 08/11/2013 16:51

Sorry to hear about your MW apt donna I would request to see someone else, how annoying she couldn’t give you a due date. How did she leave it with you? Has she booked another apt, or do you have to wait for your scan now?

Sorry that AF has finally showed properly Hungry So annoying when you get symptoms too! Hopefully it’s our month next month! My AF isn’t due till 3rd/4th dec now so probably won’t be testing at all in Nov! Nice to hear from you again metalhead, sorry you’ve not had a BFP yet either. Enjoy your weekend too Smile Hope your feeling better mrs we’ve had another chill day here again, I had a driving lesson this morning first time in over a year, and I’m really hoping to stick at it this time! been learning on and off for 3 years now! but DS and the wedding got in the way! Not long till DH is back either so me and DS are getting excited to see him.

HungryHorace · 08/11/2013 16:55

To be honest, after a week of bleeding, I'm glad that I've got some sort of resolution, even if it's not the result I'd have preferred.

I just think it's my body's way of telling me it's not ready for the stresses of pregnancy just yet. Once it is, it'll let me get pregnant. :-)

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 08/11/2013 17:01

Ooh, yes, sorry...hi to Metalhead. I'm a bit self absorbed.

Kt, I'm due a couple of days after you, so we are almost cycle buddies. :-)

I wish I could just relax when TTC and let nature take its course. But no. Never mind.

Oh, this AF hurts too. Just what I need for our weekend away!

donnas1984 · 08/11/2013 18:34

I seem to have calmed down now called her and managed to convince her im 8 weeks even though im sure im 9+1weeks so should get a scan beginning of dec fx! Shes is also pg and will be going on mat leave and I know the other mw shes an old matron type Sad. Going to treat myself to a big piece of birthday cake!
Lucy happy birthday to your dd hope she has had a lovely day. Have a good weekend everyone xxx

mrsm22 · 08/11/2013 20:01

Hi Donna - thank goodness for that. I think it's a nerve wracking thing waiting to see your midwife when she's going to be the person that sees through your pregnancy til the end. It's important to us that she's nice and understanding and listens. As you know, I saw mine on weds and she seemed nice but I didn't form much of an opinion as it was a lot of form filling. I did get the impression that she knew her stuff. When do you see her again?

HungryHorace · 08/11/2013 20:27

I barely saw the same midwife twice last time, so got to see almost all of them. :-)

Will you definitely have just the one all the way through? That'd be great.

OP posts:
mrsm22 · 08/11/2013 20:31

I think so Hungry. I hope so. Are you still going Say tomorrow and are you meeting up with ATruth?
