Part 2 this way!

We had 6 BFPs in just over a month on the first thread, so here's hoping the luck continues.

9/10 dpo tomorrow. If it doesn't show up on a FRER with FMU it's probably not happening is it? Fingers crossed for me please?

Sounds like you're squeezing in enough DTD Lucy Grin

I'm just watching the news about Mandela Sad Sad Sad

Lucyjojo · 05/12/2013 22:14

Mandela? Oh no, I haven't seen that...Sad
Think I'll leave it a week or so before btd again after tomoz, so won't be doing it at all during my most fertile time so will be interesting to see what happens! Take that fate and chance and all this trying to conceive business!!!!
9/10 dpo hmm I suppose a FRER might show up a positive result...but then it might not and you still won't be any the wiser! Was it a pack of 2? If you do get a bfn you should try and put the other one away until a more likely bfp time! What is your gut telling you it will be? What cycle are you on again?

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 05/12/2013 22:21

I can't tear myself from the telly Sad I'm trying not to think of it as sad. Such an amazing life. I'm trying to work out how to talk to pupils at school about him. He's so loved, and yet he was a terrorist... how do you explain that?!

HungryHorace · 05/12/2013 22:32

ATruth, how about sometimes desperate people do awful things in order to right a terrible wrong?

Machiavellian end justifying the means kind of thing.

I'd wait until Sat to test if I were you. I had a bfn at 9 DPO then the BFP at 10. Good luck whenever you do POAS though. And yes, did you get the twin pack? I was lucky enough to get a 3 for the price of 2 box in Windermere!

Lucy, sounds like you're doing the right thing too. Fingers crossed you get your BFP too.

Windy, I hope you're feeling much better now.

OP posts:
ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 05/12/2013 22:35

Yes, I think I'll go for that angle. I've found a powerpoint on the TES that discusses the words 'terrorist' and 'freedom fighter' in an interesting way. I can't not talk about him tomorrow. My lesson plans have all been torn up. They'll all be learning about Mandela instead!

I'm going to test tomorrow as DH won't be here on Sat and because I'm so addicted to POAS but I also managed to get a 3 for 2 box Grin so there'll be another two opportunities to torture myself if it's BFN.

HungryHorace · 05/12/2013 22:48

Yay! So it's only about £3.30 you're going to be pissing on then! :-)

My first was bfn, my second was BFP. I'm saving the third til Sunday to see a hopefully darker line.

Did you see the post above where I said that digis are 2 for £8.50 on Amazon. I've 2 more coming as I need to get to 3+!

OP posts:
ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 05/12/2013 22:58

Haha. If I bought them on Amazon they'd come off the joint account and then dh would realise how crazy I am how many sticks I've been peeing on!

On a serious note, if you are getting so anxious about the digis could you ask your doc to do consecutive hcg blood tests?

HungryHorace · 05/12/2013 23:10

Apparently hcg levels vary so much from person to person there's not much point. Though I'd see them rising, I suppose!

I'm not too bad now after reading up on it today. :-) But last time I only had one digi left which was a 1-2 and I've never seen a 2-3 or 3+ and I want to as this is (hopefully, all being well) my last pregnancy!

I also used an OPK today after someone said you get a smiley on the Clearblue OPKs when pregnant. Which meant I had to find that out, but I also did an IC one, which got a nice strong positive, and they're less sensitive than the HPTs, so that's cheered me up too.

I'm just a worrier, sadly.

My DH knows about my POAS habit! :-)

OP posts:
ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 05/12/2013 23:24

Yes, as i understand it, with the hcg blood test you have another test two days after the first and so long as it's doubling it doesn't matter what the number actually is. Hopefully you won't need it though as the digi will reassure you x

Lucyjojo · 05/12/2013 23:33

Hope you get your reassurance Hungry. Are you having any symptoms yet? Were you like this with DD? I remember when I found out I was pg with DD, my AF was a day or so late, I did one test in the evening which was a faint line, then another in the morning which was a nice strong line. I don't remember obsessing over it so much, and I certainly hadn't bought IC and POAS every day since 10 dpo! Wish I could get back to that frame of mentality...but then I did conceive the second month, and I was only 24 Hmm
It will be nice to see 3+ for you Hungry!!
ATruth are you up this late writing up lesson plans for tomorrow? I am impressed by your dedication, it must be hard work being a teacher?
Huuuge good luck for the morning. They say things come in threes so with Hungrys bfp there's still a spot for two more....what time will you be testing?

Lucyjojo · 05/12/2013 23:35

Oh and yes..I like the term 'freedom fighter', that is a good angle to go for! What age are your students? Would you be allowed to put all the facts on the table and let the children discuss and make their own minds up? Or is that more university level....

Lucyjojo · 05/12/2013 23:37

Also I am getting really tired and feeling less and less motivated to DTD tonight. Still waiting for DH to get home from work and just finished a mug of ovaltine which is putting me to sleep! Would it be a wasted oppurtunity if I skipped tonight and just did tomorrow??!

Windywinston · 06/12/2013 00:14

ATruth, the way i see it is he didn't break the rules, they were already broken. He may have been a terrorist by some definitions, but he changed the world for the better and one can't always fix things by peaceful protest alone. If he could have, I really think he would have.

HungryHorace · 06/12/2013 03:52

No severe symptoms yet. I have increased appetite (when we wake with DD overnight I'm soooo hungry!), I'm gassy / windy and I've had some nausea in the morning. And I have pregnancy RAGE!

And yes, sadly I was like this with DD. :-/

It's weird that I can't remember early pregnancy though, considering it was only last year!

Did you DTD in the end, Lucy?

What time did you finish your new lesson plan, ATruth? What subject do you teach?

Time to go back to sleep here now if DD will kindly shut up in the nursery! She's talking to herself. Joy. :-/

What news to wake up to! The whole country is at a standstill. Every day on my way to work I drive past the street where Mandela lived. Today it was total chaos there. So sad. He was truly and extraordinary man.

So no symptoms this morning apart from a severely bloated tummy and gas (sorry TMI). My twinges were going all day yesterday but not so much this morning so they were probably nothing.

ATruth keeping my fingers crossed for a BFP for you this morning. Let us know how you get on!

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 06/12/2013 07:09

BFN. Gutted. I was so hopeful this mothing. I'm staying at my parents' house while dh is away so won't be testing again until Sunday at the earliest, but I think I'm out now anyway Sad

swede - what news to wake up to indeed! Is there a day of mourning or anything?

windy - i love your explanation of things already being broken. I'll use that. And no lucy I don't normally plan late at night, but it would feel wrong to not discuss Mandela today. Did you manage to stay awake for dh coming home? Dtd to order is a killer isn't it?

HungryHorace · 06/12/2013 07:23

ATruth, it's too early to test. You're so not out yet! Sunday is a much better day to be doing it.

And you're not out until AF comes. If she does!

Swede, it must be mental around there. I can't imagine it really as other countries do grief etc quite differently to us Brits.

Well, today is the day I'm officially late for AF. It seems crazy that I've known since Sunday yet I think I'm only due on now. Now I have to hope it's not going to come. I'll be happier once the weekend is over. :-)

OP posts:
SwedeAway · 06/12/2013 07:42

ATruth - Its way to early to test so you are certainly not out. I agree with Hungry, wait until Sunday.

Yes it's all crazy here, everyone is in shock. We all knew it was going to happen soon but the death still catches everyone as a surprise - it is so final. We are waiting for the government to inform us of how the mourning etc is to be conducted. He will have a full state funeral so that should now happen very soon. It's so sad, I have cried several times this morning.

donnas1984 · 06/12/2013 07:51

Swede i thought of you last night when I heard the news it must be quite surreal for you living so close xx
Atruth dont give up just yet I havr a feeling this is a lucky month for a few of you!
I have my first Christmas night out tonight with the mummies from dd's toddler group.
picked what ibeas eating mibths ago so its gonna need to change! No pate or goats cheese for me or cheeky glass of fizz! So what Grin wonder ifbill manage to stay awake past 9:30 haha xx

donnas1984 · 06/12/2013 07:52

good god I need to put my specks on when I txt!

HungryHorace · 06/12/2013 07:56

I bet your parents are finding it quite strange being over with you at this time and seeing the mourning in person rather than just on the TV.

I don't think the death was a surprise at all, but he was such an iconic man who achieved what appeared to be the impossible, that his passing is a massive event in itself.

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 06/12/2013 08:00

Donna, you're in the second trimester, so you could have one glass of fizz if you like! :-) I was just into the second trimester last Christmas and had one glass of low alcohol pink fizzy stuff. It'll be fine.

I had to change my choice for the work Christmas do last year. I didn't like missing out on cheesecake though. :-(

I'm not sure how closely I'll follow the rules this time. Naughty mummy!

OP posts:
ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 06/12/2013 14:48

Thank you for your support. Really though? 9/10dpo is too early for most? I hope so.

Man, I feel so sick. Seriously, I can barely stand up and have been alternating between resting my head on my desk and sipping sparkling water for the last hour (luckily I have a free period!) This is torture. Surely if I was pregnant enough to feel so ill then I'd have a positive test wouldn't I? Isn't it the HCG hormone that causes the nausea? But it's giving me hope and that just means i have even further to fall if I get another BFN on Sunday. Bugger. I am so impatient. And as well as being impatient I've got a bloody tummy bug haven't I?

I like your 'just one small glass' attitude hungry. I think I'll be much more relaxed about food if I get another go at pregnancy. The rules have changed even since I was pregnant three years ago, which suggests they will change again Grin I've been allowing myself small drinks the whole time I've been BFing so I suspect I will have the odd drink through pregnancy too.

Loving all your typos donna Grin

How's the rest of the day been Swede? I'm absolutely fascinated by what life must be like in SA at the moment. Keep us informed?

HungryHorace · 06/12/2013 16:20

Remind me what day you got the positive OPK, ATruth. I counted the day after that as OV day then counted from there. And yes 9 DPO is definitely too early. Unless you had very early implantation. And 10 DPO only works if you implant on 6 DPO.

You're as impatient as I am, so I fully empathise with you. I really hope it's a BFP not a tummy bug. :-)

How did your lesson go today?

OP posts:
ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 06/12/2013 17:05

27 November. Have I counted wrong?
