Part 2 this way!

We had 6 BFPs in just over a month on the first thread, so here's hoping the luck continues.

Evening all!

Friday is here :) as is my nausea.....! Although not actual sickness, just a general constant nauseous feeling.

lucy I think if you just dtd when you feel like it it may help take the pressure off. The month we did that I felt much more relaxed even though we didn't have a good chance of a BFP. I tried to think, if were weren't 'trying' would we be doing it? And if the answer was no, we didn't! Easier said than done when you know when you're ovulating though.

atruth I can understand you wanting your husband to be there for the test! like everyone says though! at 9dpo you aren't out yet!

Hope your night out is nice donna

How old will your LO be when number 2 arrives hungry? And my Eddie is August the 1st so were quite close :)

How is everyone else?

CallingAllEngels · 06/12/2013 17:18

When is /was AF due truth? I'd always wait.....and chin up, it ain't over till the witch arrives!

A glass of fizzor two won't hurt Donna. I had a few glasses of champagne at a wedding when 7 and a half weeks pg. One of my friends always says, a glass won't hurt, just don't finish the bottle!

My cupboard is stocked with opks and pg tests! AF is taking a long time. Normally only 4-5 days and on day 8 already. Am supposed to wait till getting all clear from hospital next Friday before trying again, though will start using opks in a few days to see if I ov this month. Hopefully everthing will snap back and remember what's supposed to happen!

HungryHorace · 06/12/2013 17:21

ATruth, I think you're 8 DPO. Or 9 at a push. Sunday is going to be a good day to test. :-)

Better, if I have an ELCS at 38 weeks, which is what I'm hoping for, then DD will be a tiny bit over 13 months. It's going to be hectic.

I've felt a bit sick in the morning and if I exert myself, but it's not too bad yet. I've also started almost being sick when I brush my teeth. It won't be long before I am sick at this rate. Joy! But sick = reassuring, so I'll take it. :-)

ATruthUniversallyAcknowledged · 06/12/2013 18:15

Feel stupid now. Will try again on Sunday. Can't say much now as supervising ds and his dgps x

HungryHorace · 06/12/2013 18:59

If it's any consolation, I only realised I was probably counting wrong this cycle!

Never mind. :-)

I am much more chilled about the food thing this time round. Hve had smoked salmon, prawns, runny'ish egg...and a glass of wine! How bad is that? The drinking thing is all trying to discourage those that binge drink so they tell u to drink nothing. I wouldn't really have more than one and only very occasionally though. I'm also carrying on exercising (sometimes!) and I did that last time. Feel so fat right now! X

HungryHorace · 06/12/2013 19:50

I had runnyish egg last time, as well as cured meat and a medium rare steak (not deliberate, it stubbornly refused to cook!), as well as the odd glass of wine.

The only exercise I get is walking DD round in the pram. Not great as I still have baby weight from her. I need to not put too much weight on this time!

Good evening ladies!
How is everyone? I'm glad it's Friday night, DH is at work and DS is fast asleep. I am very careful about what I eat and drink when pregnant, I'm eating more too. I'd love a runny egg but don't they have to be well cooked? I think cured meat/packeted ham etc is fine. I have been eating the odd steak but well done. Had a nice home made fish pie tonight made by my mum, which was nice. I've switched to decaf tea etc. I'm too much of a worrier to risk eating the wrong things. Although typically, I fancy all the things I can't have. For example I would love a prawn sandwich with Marie Rose sauce or egg mayo.
Everyone knows at work now and my last day is 28th feb! Hungry - how are you feeling? Have you decided if you'll have to go back to work for a little bit or will you tell them that your pregnant beforehand and hope you don't have to?
I spoke to HC at work about my maternity leave and the earliest I can go on mat leave is 28th match but I can save and use holiday so I'm going to finish on 28th feb and have all march as holiday and start mat leave in April. It isn't long really considering there's only two weeks til I finish for Xmas and then I don't go back til 8th jan.
Hungry - don't worry about the weight, it'll soon drop off when you're running around after two. I seem to be carrying the same as last time, carrying my bump low and my hips and bum are getting wider.

HungryHorace · 06/12/2013 20:52

Wow, that's not long, mrs! :-)

I've already told work and have had no response to my email so far. How nice of them. Not!

If the eggs are in this country and have the lion mark on they're fine to eat how you like as those hens are vaccinated.

OP posts:
mrsm22 · 06/12/2013 20:59

I know Hungry, it's not long. I just want to spend some time with my DS before new baby comes along. I can't wait to finish! I hope your work decide it's pointless for you to go back too. How many weeks do you reckon you are now? Have you got a midwife appointment yet?
Ooh that's good news about the eggs!

Toothpastekissesno2 · 06/12/2013 21:21

Oh good hungry glad I'm not only one! I wouldn't eat anything like that somewhere potentially dodgy - only very posh foods obviously!
I have no energy for exercise but hate seeing the jeans get tighter and not doing anything physical. But it's a bit half hearted I have to say. Dh out at a all day lunch and obviously hammered. Quite weird being the sensible one at home throughout Christmas-don't really mind but it's easier when u tell everyone.
Hungry how come u told work? Mrs I wish I could do that but think we will need the income for as long as possible sadly. Very envious! Though actually I don't mind working 3 days. (Most of the time)

HungryHorace · 06/12/2013 21:35

I think I'm 4+2 now, but until the scan I won't really know.

No appt through yet. I'll chase on Monday if I haven't received it in tomorrow's post.

Toothpaste, I told work as I'm trying to get them to pay me off and make me redundant. Also, because I'll only be back for 6 weeks there's stuff they will need to rearrange as soon as possible, such as my external secondment next September. It's not really fair to go back and drop a bombshell on them, but I'm hoping they see sense and we can come to some sort of agreement and I leave!

OP posts:
mrsm22 · 06/12/2013 22:04

Hi Toothpaste - I work 3 days too. I did work as far as I could to the end last time (full time) but with having myDS at home I find it really hard being at work. I only went back in June when my DS was 18 months off and have found it really hard since and don't feel I've settled back in well. It's difficult for me because I've gone back to work and means my mum and dad are helping out having DS and DH has to work slightly less or not as good hours. I feel so tired all of the time and really want to spend some quality time with DS before new baby in June. The maternity package from work is quite good and I'll get a year off but doubt I will go back with two. Will you go back to work do you think?
Hungry - I think it would make sense for your work to let you go. Chase that appointment! I'm waiting for the results of the Down syndrome screening test which is quite scary and then see the midwife on 18th dec.

HungryHorace · 07/12/2013 06:56

Mrs, will you have to pay some mat pay back if you don't return? That's something you need to consider.

I've just done and OPK as HPT and my final FRER and the test lines are really dark and strong, so I'm feeling happier about increasing hcg levels now.

DD has had an epic 7.5 hours' sleep. We turned the nightlight off as we don't think she's keen and it seems to have worked. But let's not get carried away!

How is everyone today?

OP posts:
CallingAllEngels · 07/12/2013 08:33

Morning all!

ds managed to have a reasonable sleep too hungry...though I woke up at 4am and he was next to me!

right, off to clear out our cellar. Ds is going to mil. Time to get off mn, but will7ll be back on this evening.

donnas1984 · 07/12/2013 09:38

Good morning all!
Party night was great I spoke to the bar staff when I arrived and they made me a few faux French Martinis through the night so I didn't feel left out and the food was lovely, scan pictures got passed around so everyone now knows.
mrs I'm funny about what I eat like you i think I will struggle over the festive period as my mother is a fantastic cook and has been making pate and some very alcoholic ginger wine already!
I'm sure I felt a wee flutter / pop last night when I was falling asleep is it too early for this? I am 14weeks tomorrow. How is everyone else doing? I really need to start wrapping ive been putting it off for ages uch the thought! xx

HungryHorace · 07/12/2013 09:45

I felt DD from about 10 weeks last time and had my first kick at 14 weeks when she took offence to my slightly too tight jeans! So no, not too early. :-) Bet you're so happy.

Party sounds great too.

Now get wrapping! :-)

OP posts:
Windywinston · 07/12/2013 09:53

Sorry about the BFN but it is really early so even a frer is unlikely to pick anything up. I'm still hoping for a BFP for you this cycle.

I'm super careful in pregnancy, or at least I was last time as it took so long to conceive I wasn't prepared to take any chances. This time I am a bit more relaxed but I still won't drink (even though deep down I know that the odd drink is totally ok). I have had a couple of steaks which haven't exactly been well done, but they were cooked longer than I normally would so that's a start right?

I think you can eat prawns. As long as they've been cooked they're fine (who'd eat a grey prawn?) so a prawn sandwich should be ok.

It's my 6 year wedding anniversary today so we're packing dd off to the in laws and getting a Christmas tree and going out for dinner. I hope I can keep my food down!

Have a lovely Saturday everyone. Swede, I have been thinking of you in SA.

HungryHorace · 07/12/2013 09:56

Happy anniversary, Windy! :-)

And I eat prawns. And nuts. I'm a bit crap really, ha ha!

And yes, cooking for longer is a start. It's bloody wrong to cremate a steak!

mrsm22 · 07/12/2013 11:23

Hi everyone,
Hungry - I was worried about that too, having to pay maternity back but rang HC to ask them and they confirmed you don't have to pay anything back if you choose not to go back. In my leaflets and things from the midwife it really states no seafood or shellfish at all so I definitely would never risk that. My mum does a lovely starter on Xmas day with melon, smoked salmon, prawns and this delicious seafood sauce but looks like I'll only be able to have the melon. Also need to start warping presents soon . In fact can anyone help me with any ideas ? I've bought my DS a lovely snowman Xmas stocking but still need to buy the stocking fillers. Does anyone have any ideas for stocking fillers and nice toys and things to go in it. He is nearly two remember x

HungryHorace · 07/12/2013 12:31

That's good news. You may have alerted them to your plans though! :-)

Here's a link to the NHS website about food: www.nhs.uk/conditions/pregnancy-and-baby/pages/foods-to-avoid-pregnant.aspx

I wish the postman would come so I can see if my appt has been arranged yet. He was really late yesterday...it was almost dark when he arrived!

OP posts:
mrsm22 · 07/12/2013 14:40

Hi Hungry - any post yet? I'm waiting too for my blood results/Down syndrome screening results but nothing has come today. When I rang HC, I had a list of questions and I just said, hypothetically if i did decide not to cow back to work while on maternity leave would I have to pay anything back and they said no. But you speak to a different person everything you ring HC, it's a big company I work for so I don't think they will have thought anything plus it doesn't matter really as they have to keep my job open. To be honest Hungry, some people probably do think I won't be coming back like colleagues but that's because they know I'll have two. And I don't really mind who knows or thinks what. We will both be stay at home mums. If your baby is born August then they won't be too far apart in age. We can meet up with our babies I hope x

HungryHorace · 07/12/2013 14:54

No post :-(

Can't work out if he's late like yesterday or we aren't getting any!

And yes, best not to care what people think. :-)

OP posts:
mrsm22 · 07/12/2013 16:04

No post for us either! So anyway how are you feeling Hingry and what are you up to today?

HungryHorace · 07/12/2013 17:00

I feel there's a no post conspiracy going on! :-(

We've done nothing today; it's been great. :-) I've just showered and put my jim jams back on!

We have been researching double buggies too. It's very confusing. :-/

I'm feeling ok. Not very pregnant overly, but that's early pregnancy for you!

How about you?
