Our brand spanking new thread full of luck, baby dust, BFPs and a few choice swear words.

The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Punching the air for you over, YES!! Delighted. And for me, you do give me hope! Everything crossed (even legs, as am on 2ww) for a smooth-running almost 9 months. xx

alyant79 · 10/12/2013 09:56

over that's fantastic news!!!!!! really really really happy for you

so sorry for AF ark and handsfull

temp still high here but not reading anything into it. AF due tomorrow or thurs I think, so still plenty of time for it to drop...

Sundance2007 · 10/12/2013 10:04

Congratulations over, that's lovely news, I know still early days but stay positive and good things will happen.

ark, so so sorry. Big hugs, but still time for a September baby and they are meant to be the most successful people!

Also wishing for an Xmas pregnancy, my af is due 22nd but given that I don't even think I've ovulated this month it's looking very unlikely. CD 17 today! Post mc random cycles I think.

chosen, it sounds like we are in the same boat - we can be POAS buddies!

fedupofrainydays · 10/12/2013 10:57

Hi ladies. So it's not gone that well for me. I did go to EPU. They couldn't find a pregnacy but I had some internal bleeding in the pelvis so they admitted me to hospital with suspected ectopic. I'm allowed home today after tests being ok over night but back for bloods tomorrow. If the pregnancy is developing still then they need to find it so re scan and surgery poss required. I don't feel pregnant now though so I suspect it's just on the decline and I'm due a miscarriage. However, I'm still scared about ectopic and potential tube loss.
I only wanted a normal pregnancy, like we all do. Why is it so hard to get that?

HollyBen · 10/12/2013 11:47

I am so so sorry to hear your news fedup. No one tells you when you start ttc just how hard it can be. Fingers crossed no surgery required, not that either option is good. Bit rubbish at this but saw your update and couldn't not respond. Take care of yourself and let us know how you get on. You are in my thoughts. Big hugs x

wingandtalon · 10/12/2013 12:07

over that's wonderful news. So happy for you.

ark sorry to hear that AF has arrived. Sending big hugs.

fedup so so sorry to hear your news. Keeping fingers crossed that you don't require any surgery. It's so unfair isn't it? I'm no good at this, but I wanted you to know that I'm thinking of you.

I'm a little worried today. AF stopped on Sunday and we DTD last night. This morning I have a very sore cervix and I'm losing a bit of blood that looks a lot darker than AF blood. I had 3 loop excisions a couple of years ago and my cervix feels like it did when I was healing after them. I was told that I didn't need to go back 6 months ago after 2 normal smears. I'm just really worried that they signed me off too early and the abnormal cells have returned/got worse. Not sure if to go to Dr or not. I may just be being paranoid, but this just doesn't feel at all normal Sad

Sundance2007 · 10/12/2013 12:28

fedup, I'm so sorry Hun - shitty shitty news, hopefully you won't need any surgery but best that any probs get sorted now rather than waiting to appear several months into a healthy pregnancy...which WILL happen. Hopefully they can run some tests to help give you reassurance that this is just awful luck. Thinking of you.

wing, I' also had the loop treatment 3 years ago - still going for 6 months checks, all of which have been fine, however, on occasions where we have DTD and got a bit...umm..."deep", it has caused a bit of soreness afterwards. The cervix is very tender but you will have tougher scar tissue there now which is nothing to worry about and darker blood is older, healthy blood. If it's brownish blood then I wouldn't worry at all especially if you just had AF.

OveranxiousUnderated · 10/12/2013 12:58

Sending you a huge hug fedup Thanks really sorry, hope its all over for you quickly xxxx

alyant79 · 10/12/2013 13:38

oh no fedup what rotten news.
There is still a glimmer of hope that they just couldn't find the pregnancy because it's too early to detect - i'm sure that happened to someone else on this thread a while back and everything turned out OK.
fingers and everything crossed for no surgery.

wingandtalon · 10/12/2013 14:05

Thankyou sundance I'm all over the place at the moment and inclined to panic first think sense second. Your reassurance has really helped Smile

fedupofrainydays · 10/12/2013 14:45

Thanks ladies. There is a tiny chance it will be a normal pregnancy but 3 doctors said highly unlikely and one just assumed I would miscarry. They just don't see how I could have got a bfp so long ago and hcg not be higher... So not even a dates issue, it's a when I got a pos test issue.

Right. Off to catch up on some zzzzz. Was on a ward being checked every hour, wheeling a drip trolley to the loo and back, and woman opposite me snored worst than DH. Knackered.

Bit out the loop on everyone's news so will catch up soon xxx

triplespin · 10/12/2013 15:35

fedup I also remember someone else on the forum - katatonic had a similar issue - pregnancy of unknown location, but at a subsequent scan, everything looked fine. I would not lose hope quite yet. FX for you that it turns out ok and if the worst is to happen, then I sincerely hope that it is not an ectopic.

over that is excellent news !! I am sure you must be relieved and at least you can now start enjoying pregnancy. fx that all goes well from this point forward for you.

wing - no experience with excisions - but if something does not feel quite right, then you must go see your GP. Otherwise this will keep weighing on you all day.

handful I normally see at least 3-4 baby on board every day ! Yesterday, there were two in my building and thne one lady sitting next to me on the train...argh.

aly at least temps are staying up so far...keep us posted.

Floweroct · 10/12/2013 18:47

fedup so sorry to hear your news

over that's fab news so pleased for you

aly afs due with me tmrw or thurs hopefully she'll stay away for both of us.

It's a year on Friday since I found out about mmc can't believe I'm still no closer to having a baby :(

Misspositivity · 10/12/2013 22:16

this thread is so busy. Blink or a day and you miss so much so sorry if I miss anyone out.

sundance and sal sounds like your appointments were positive for the future. That's good and good luck with the snagging to come

fedup so sorry to hear things not good. Bleeding in pregnancy is no fun - I do have a DD who I was told I was mc at 5 1/2 weeks as bleeding and nothing on scan. Called back a week later and there she was. Also have 2 mc to show for bleeding in pregnancy too.

over excellent news

alyant. Fx temps stay high.

It's shagging week here - no poss opk yet. Knackered by work but going to go every other day until temp rise.

Hi to newbies. Hopefully you won't be here too long. (I feel like I am a lifer at the mo). Sorry for your losses

On a happier note my wee cousin had a baby boy this morning after 3 mc. So happy and proud of her. Not a prang of jealousy it was her time. Though I have told DP that he better up duff me before I am 36. 4 cycles to go.

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 11/12/2013 07:58

Fedup - so so sorry to hear things are so stressful. Hoping very much it ends up being one of those happy endings Triple mentioned. Hope you had a good sleep and are at least feeling a bit rested this morning. Flowers

Handsfull - that really made me smile - mainly because it was 100% accurate and exactly how I got through the day! As I understand it they work very well for some people and I've had positive experiences of the clearblue fertility monitor - I'll be going back to it this month.

Over - that's fab news, really happy for you. Best wishes for one of those lovely happy non-eventful 9-months we keep hearing about!

Ark - really sorry AF came. I know what you mean about wanting to be pregnant over Christmas. I was over Christmas last year and loved that feeling of next Christmas we'll have a little addition. Not only do we not have a little addition but we have nothing even resembling a hint of a new addition. If I sound bitter - I am!!

Aly and Flower - everything crossed for AF staying away. I'm hoping for lots of vicarious Christmas BFPs to cheer me up after my lack of one.

MissP - I'm totally with you on feeling like a lifer. Hugs. Yay for your cousin though.

Camhova · 11/12/2013 08:01

P.s. I'm changing my username - CamomileHoneyVanilla annoyed me by being too flouncy. This is to go with my new laid-back chilled out attitude (Ha).

SeasideLily · 11/12/2013 08:56

Good luck with bloods today fedup I was so sorry to hear your news-if it helps on the ectopic note, my hcg doubled as normal, so hopefully your tubes are safe. Really sorry if it is a mc though, it's so unfair.

Feel like I'm here until menopause too...lunch with a friend today who stopped taking the pill at the same time as me. Took her a while to get pg-at one point DH and I were even commiserating between us about how long it was taking them. She's due on Xmas day, and not even a zygote here...

alyant79 · 11/12/2013 09:04

so this morning I poas because my temps were still high and i've got work xmas party tonight - and it's a FP (faint positive)! No drinking for me...
not getting my hopes up at all as i'm fully aware that there's every chance it won't stick, but at least I know that sperm can meet egg and begin to produce the right hormones. Which is frankly a relief.

fedup since you're my twin and everything has been the same, including bfps in the same month, i'm fully expecting spotting to begin at some point today or tomorrow. Hope you're hanging in there and looking after yourself. Let us know how today's bloods go.

it's exactly the same cycle in which i conceived mc baby last year - so maybe i can only get pg once a year. which doesn't bode well if this one doesn't stick! Hmm

fingers crossed for you too flower

triplespin · 11/12/2013 09:08

aly that is wonderful news ! so very happy and excited for you.It really gives us all hope. fx that its a sticky one. You will be missed on the board, but certainly (potentially) going away for all the right reasons !

triplespin · 11/12/2013 09:19

also flinging a trout at you for poas on Wed !

Floweroct · 11/12/2013 09:24

Eek aly that's great fx for you!

My temps are down today so expecting af to appear on time today/tmrw :(

wingandtalon · 11/12/2013 09:35

aly that's wonderful news. Keeping everything crossed for you.

Sundance2007 · 11/12/2013 09:45

(Short intake of breath), Aly, that is tremendous news. Even if, as you say, it isn't meant to be, at least you know things are working properly down there, and there's no reason why this won't work - every pg is different and you are due some good luck!

Still waiting for a pos opk result...but wondering if I must have missed a really early one. Luckily, I started using a charting app over a year ago so have records of af's post mc....on both occasions I ovulated really late in the first months afterwards.

fedupofrainydays · 11/12/2013 09:49

Oh aly that's fab news!! I told you this was your bfp month!!! But please don't expect the spotting as that's taking the twin joke a bit too far Smile

So waiting again at EPU for bloods. I hate EPU. It's waiting times are ridiculous and why do some people come back in waving their scan pics around?!

I feel more chilled about my situ. I'm kind of expecting the worst and preparing for mc, work know so the pressure is kind of off too. My progesterone on weds did not indicate ectopic I don't think - was 35. I think they look for about 10 or below when ectopic. But if that's dropped this morn it could be different...

alyant79 · 11/12/2013 10:05

triple i'm not going anywhere just yet. I'm compartmentalising this bit of info to the back of my mind and won't even begin to think of myself as possibly pregnant until AF date has been and gone (except for not drinking much).
