Here we go again.....

The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 6+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot) and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooooh aren’t we strict!

Oh gosh Feather! How long is your literal phase normally?? Fingers xed!

I have just been feeling stupidly down about it recently and haven't temped for a day or two which is silly and I need a smack! Need to man up and get back on the horse as we're cd8 here and will soon be in fertile window!

FeatherFeather11 · 26/10/2013 22:06

Who knows rp! LP and cycle is all over the place. I dunno, 22 days on average having just done a quick tally?

You have to allow yourself to feel a little down sometimes, but then comes the time where you have to pick yourself up, dust yourself off and get Dtd-ing! I don't temp, but have used OV sticks before. Do you? Fx-ed for you this month rp!

Have just stuffed myself with a delicious dinner the oh took about four hours making - steak, homemade double cooked chips and bernaise sauce! Plus a few green beans for health purposes. Now thinking about ice cream....

Gillster · 26/10/2013 23:54

AF here. You could set your watch on the basis of a positive OV result. Next cycle will be out due to fibroid op in Nov. I'm convinced now that we won't get pregnant without help. Our FC appointment on 5th so not too long to wait but feeling pretty despondent to be honest.

BlindKitty · 27/10/2013 08:10

feather can I swap my dh for yours??? Make the most of meals like that, you won't be able to eat them soon! Smile

gill help or no help, it still gets you to where you need to be. Smile

BlindKitty · 27/10/2013 08:15

feather you need to post your stats so we can copy a d paste em!

FeatherFeather11 · 27/10/2013 08:32

Ha, kitty! He ALWAYS leaves the kitchen looking like a bombsite - which I then have to clean. Yum, but almost not worth it.

My stats are:

Feather, 34, pcos/no OV. One Fallopian tube. ttc since September 2011. Round six of clomid Oct '13. One more and then moving on to IUI. Probably.

Gill hope you're feeling better this morning. Hang on in there - op is just around the corner and could mean you'll get diffed v soon after! x

So, did anyone else leave there info on that 'ask the specialist' thread on here? Finally found the answers and the doc that answered my dilemma suggested ovarian drilling and said that iui probably wouldn't work. Argh! Confused now!

FeatherFeather11 · 27/10/2013 08:33

I meant their not there

BlueBirdy · 27/10/2013 08:59

Morning all! Calm before the storm, down here in the south...

Feather I've just started eating pineapple too. That old man sounds intriguing - hope the diet works for you!! Can't be any help re the ovarian drilling, but defo worth asking the FC about... hopefully the old man is right and you won't need to make that decision Smile

Hey Gill, I also came to that realisation (guess it took me long enough!) I kept putting off getting help as I hate getting help from others, and esp for something like this, but now that we have the appt I actually feel a lot better, like it's taken away some of the stress (we'll see how long that lasts!).

Hope those going on hol this next week have a lovely, distracting time! Right, I'm off to batten down the hatches...

CatsCantFlyFast · 27/10/2013 09:13

For anyone coming up to IUI I read an amazing study that suggests lying down for 15 mins afterwards massively affects the results... Sounds crazy but true. Can dig out the research if anybody wants it

BlindKitty · 27/10/2013 09:15

Bunnygirlie · 27/10/2013 09:32

lady 2 weeks off sick?!? Mental!

RP and Gil sorry to hear you are feeling down, we all have times like that!

What's the deal with pineapple? My friend mentioned that, I can't eat fresh pineapple so I'm screwed lol

OP posts:
PowderPuffs · 27/10/2013 09:40

Morning all!

Feather that dr sounds interesting, would love the details please!
Pineapple you say..?

It does look beautiful out, feel a bit daft bringing in the pot plants

FeatherFeather11 · 27/10/2013 10:45

here's the link kitty: www.mumsnet.com/Talk/mumsnet_q_and_a/a1875884-Q-A-on-women-s-health-with-BMI-Healthcare-CLOSED

powder he's called...wait for it...Dr Mistry! He owns and runs a pharmacy in South End Green, NW3. Still can't get my head around the fact that he kept saying "pcos or not, you need to eat lots of wheat" - when EVERYONE else says to avoid it and gluten. I'm going to give his diet a shot. Anything goes for me at this point.

bunny I believe pineapple has something called bromide in it and that's something that apparently improves fertility. Dr Mistry waffled about enzymes and pineapple and papaya, but that bit went over my head.

barkingtreefrog · 27/10/2013 10:50

rp and gill I think it's the weather. I've had a good week emotionally, started feeling almost positive again (despite lack of AF and obliging gp) but today I'm feeling teary. I don't think I'm very well though, slept all afternoon yesterday after my bike ride, went to bed feeling sick last night and still not feeling right this morning.

BlindKitty · 27/10/2013 18:06

feather I know you're desperate and you'll try anything (and believe me, I know and haven't always practiced what I preach) but you need to take a lot of what people say with a pinch of salt. As a dietitian I'm constantly faced with people trying fad diets that quacks have suggested. At most it gives people the feeling that they're doing something and are in control. Re diet, if you do have pcos you might want to try a low glycemic index diet diet. Otherwise, I'm afraid it's just big standard healthy eating and limiting alcohol. I definitely wouldn't avoid gluten / wheat (unless you're a coeliac) and wouldn't force pineapple down you, unless of course you like it and its part if your healthy eating regime

Shame that forum is closed. Would have been interested to know whether BMI would suggest ivf for me when iui clearly worked.

RevoltingPeasant · 27/10/2013 18:23

Ooh barking shame. Sleep lots!!

Yeah I'm having that childish "booooo I don't want to go to work" Sunday feeling.

Cd9 and negative opk. But temps went all weird, almost like I'd OV way early but think it's just a blip.....

Sorry about AF gill.

RevoltingPeasant · 27/10/2013 18:24

So feather you have about 12 days to wait then? Eeek!

PowderPuffs · 27/10/2013 19:26

Thanks for that Feather, I may well pop along once we get more info from FC... do agree with you though Kitty and we probably don't need to overhaul our diets, but interested to hear what he might say.

Hope everyone's gardens survive the night!

barkingtreefrog · 27/10/2013 20:17

Out of interest, given the difficulty we're all having/we've had getting pg with #1, are there any berries who still want a larger family (if you wanted more than one in the first place)? I'm thinking ttc #2 is never going to happen. I'd be very happy to get #1 and that'll do me fine, don't want to ever go through this again (and also, if I'm lucky enough to get a bfp and a healthy baby next time, wouldn't want to then risk going through another mc, never mind the ttc).

I don't want to come across as negative, I just wondered whether your experience so far of ttc #1 has affected future plans (future hormones and forgetting current troubles onve you're holding baby aside).

IamKuma · 27/10/2013 20:40

I seem to have fallen off the list; think I was on holiday when the last update went up

Bunny - 33, TTC since June 2012, just had lap&dye, next step ivf/ICSI

kitty - 33, ttc since jul 2011, 10+4 today thanks to the wonders of iui
foody - 33,ttc Nov 2011, mc May 2013, 7 weeks, in self preservation denial

IamKuma · 27/10/2013 20:47

Barking I think I'd still like 2; although given my age and the amount of time its taking, I guess I might not have time. That said, my cousin has just announced she is expecting No 2 and she is 42.

lady I hope your weekend has been suitably restful - FX for you!

Gil sorry AF got you, but not long till you have your op. Maybe an enforced month out will be a good thing; It would be nice not having the 2ww build up and disappointment for a change.

feather I ate lots of pineapple this month as it was on the menu every day on my holiday, I also cut out coffee again for the month. AF arrived yesterday though ...Angry

RP I'm also having that Sunday feeling, I think it's even worse now that the clocks have changed. Given the number of trains that seem to have been cancelled already I fear I'll be the only person at work tomorrow!

BlindKitty · 27/10/2013 21:07

barking was thinking same earlier. Trying to see positives in my infertility and that at least I'm highly unlikely to have a 'surprise' bfp before I'm ready. When the time is right we will just have to pay me BMI for our second baby, assuming iui will work a second time.

Bunnygirlie · 27/10/2013 21:12

barking yep I still want two! Ideally I'd have twins and get it all done and dusted!

Of course it may all change if this ivf journey is hideous!!!

How's tricks peeps?

OP posts:
ladybunnikins · 27/10/2013 21:25

I'd still like two in an ideal world but if I could have at least one I'd be happy. Back to work tomorrow, will be spending the day on delivery suite. Envy

FeatherFeather11 · 27/10/2013 21:35

kitty I know you're absolutely right, but I kinda need something to hold on to right now. The diet he's given me isn't that complicated -quite simple healthy eating and I don't really eat processed food anyway (aside from ice cream! told me to avoid cheese, eat lots of wheat, and to drink aloe Vera juice in my water first thing plus royal jelly in honey and hot milk before bed.

rp not sure how many days I have now- af my arrive any time in the next week I guess. I'm 11dpo now. 99.9% sure I won't get a bfp this month.

barking I'd be happy with just the one at this point but I've always wanted two and OH was keen on four. Doubt that'll be happening.

Hope everyone's tucked up and dry! OH insisted on bringing in the BBQ along with the pot plants. Hmm

Went for a long walk this morning. bumped into two lots of acquaintances - both told us they were expecting. Had a cry when we got back, but ok now. Sheesh!
