Here we go again.....

The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 6+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot) and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooooh aren’t we strict!

Pipbin · 24/10/2013 22:43

At 15 I could understand it. Not a 41 year old mother of 4!!!

Bunnygirlie · 24/10/2013 22:44

Hey Pip good to see you x

Sorry you think AF is coming, it's just rotten isn't it Sad

Grrrrrrr to surprise babies, how can a woman not know her body?!?!?

OP posts:
RevoltingPeasant · 24/10/2013 23:13

Really Pipbin? Wow! That's in the category of once looks unfortunate, twice like carelessness IMO....

Pipbin · 24/10/2013 23:29

Calculating I think.
She 'forgot' to get a repeat prescription of the pill. You don't forget that. Especially when her new husband said he didn't want children.

FeatherFeather11 · 24/10/2013 23:42

I don't even know her and I dislike her. Plus a little Envy truth be told. It's so easy for some people and it's just not fair. (I buckled and just did a hpt at 8dpo - bfn, obviously.)

BlindKitty · 25/10/2013 06:40

In her defence , I know I'm only 10 weeks but I don't really feel 'much' different. Although she carried full term so she must be stoooopid!

barkingtreefrog · 25/10/2013 07:35

I didn't have to see the gp feather but I can get a gp appointment the next day, I knew the fertility clinic could be a month wait. All I wanted was provera to bring on AF, I thought the gp was worth a go. Given it's now on my notes that she sought advice from the gynaecological ward and was advised to send me to the fc, there's no point going to a different gp now as they won't overide that, I'll just have to wait to see the fc and hope AF arrives in the meantime.

Although then I would have to work out whether I still wanted the appointment. I was due an appointment in December after my 6 cycles of clomid but obviously I will only have done two full cycles by then, one which worked, so I imagine we'll have to wait until we've done another 4 before we get the IVF referral (unless it's worked again by then of course). Part of me is worried we'll go back to the beginning of the 'ttc for 2 years' criteria, but surely the fact that I didn't conceive until I took clomid shows that we can't conceive without it so it would be pointless sending us away for another 2 years, especially as I can't take 2 years of clomid and I'll be 36 by then?

I think I've just waffled enough to answer my own question, I need to face up to where we stand and get some answers!

Morning berries! Anyone else woken up by torrential rain this morning?! (doesn't help that we sleep in the attic room).

ladybunnikins · 25/10/2013 07:36

I've seen one case where I believe it was genuine.

barkingtreefrog · 25/10/2013 07:41

pipbin my ex decided he didn't want children and a not-very-close friend said not to let this worry me, her husband said the same but she just 'forgot' to take the pill. Twice. Best thing that ever happened to them and her husband didn't regret the children at all, he loved them, she said. I resisted pointing out that she was talking about her ex husband and wasn't that significant?!
It's amazing how she can hide it so long. I'm assuming this woman isn't skinny??

Pipbin · 25/10/2013 07:58

She's not tiny, but she's no bigger than about an 18 I'd say. She wears really baggy clothes. But I don't understand how her husband didn't notice. To be very blunt though neither of them are the shiniest buttons in the tin.

Well AF decided to arrive here at 1 am. I didn't realise until 2am. As I sleep wearing only Chanel No5 and a smile it was all over the sheet, through the blanket under the sheet and onto the mattress.

Grrrr. Still it means that next AF will be the start of my next IVF cycle.

ladybunnikins · 25/10/2013 08:40

Boo to AF Pip but great about the IVF. Do they repeat the antral follicle count scan again on a new cycle?
Did anybody read that thread about timing pregnancy to avoid having a child who was the youngest in the class? I remember when I first started TTC that was a consideration, it feels like such a time of innocence now!

barkingtreefrog · 25/10/2013 08:50

Same size I'd guess as recent pg colleague. Bump wasn't obvious until just before she left on maternity and even then a jumper would have hidden it. Helped with Envy levels!! Currently pg colleague is wearing tightly fitted clothing and showing off obvious bump. Felt like asking her to wear a baggy jumper for the sake of my sanity! Hmm

Shock to arrival of AF. Winter is coming here so I'm now back in my stripy onesy!!

I really hope next cycle is your lucky one. Thanks

barkingtreefrog · 25/10/2013 09:02

lady it's definitely something that made me more Angry about my mc. I would have had an April baby, perfect in my eyes as it's not close to Christmas but not a 'summer born' either. If I get pg on my next cycle of clomid (should AF actually arrive by mid November) it would be an August baby. As a teacher I've seen lots of August born children and they are definitely socially, if not academically, behind a lot of their peers. I have a child in my current class who was born on 31st August! ! She's ok socially but academically would be a lot better off in the year below - and if she'd been born a few hours later she would be!!
Right now I would take any due date, but I remember last year not being as disappointed as other months when AF arrived in December Hmm .

Foodylicious · 25/10/2013 11:18

RP - what have british gas done?? I thought they had done the same to us cause my direct debit says to British Gas Trading - not sainsurys who we have switched to, but when I have checked it is the same direct debit, same date and amount so it has gone to sainsburys!! WTF - they are also putting the rates up alot and offering foxed price until 2015 - got some reading to do to figure out if this is good or not??!! Hmm

barkingtreefrog · 25/10/2013 13:03

So. GP must have taken pity on me as she called the fc herself and booked me the first available appointment - next Wednesday! Grin This would be great except it's half term and we were supposed to be going to Scotland!! Sad I called to see if I could move it a couple of days but the next available appointment is in December.
DP agreed this should take priority but talk about timing!!

PowderPuffs · 25/10/2013 15:36

Hello Berries,

I was here quite a few threads back, hope you still have space for me on the SoP! Been doing all the 'not focussing on ttc' stuff - didn't work.
I bring Cake, sausage medley and Flowers for those having it tough at the moment.

We're on cycle 12 so haven't been trying a massively long time, but DP had really bad 1st SA results so we have a FC appointment scheduled next month. It was a real shock but glad to get things moving. He has a 2nd test soon so I guess we might see improvements, but not much we can do as he's so healthy already, doesn't drink etc. GP thinks we'll be heading for ICSI.

Any wise Berries know if I should take DP to the appointment?

Foodylicious · 25/10/2013 15:43

Oh Barking yay and rubbish all at once! can you pack the car and drive strait from the appointment on Weds - would still have a few days away - or go somewhere less far maybe??

mrswalker13 · 25/10/2013 16:19

Barking that is great news - and I can report Scotland is currently horribly rainy, windy and grey so you wouldn't be missing much...

Back from doctor. He was much better than I expected. I walked in, sat down and said still no AF, 105 days, clearly there's a problem here so I'm confused as to how blood tests were normal. He said actually they aren't entirely normal; he wants repeat bloods but is almost certain it's PCOS. So more bloods; in the meantime advice on a low GI diet. He'll refer for a scan to confirm after the repeat bloods. After confirmation he wants to try me on metformin. It's not FC but it feels positive Smile

Off to Rocky Horror tonight with a friend so maybe a bonus celebratory DTD for DH when I get home in my fishnets!

BlindKitty · 25/10/2013 17:35

lady I remember that thread well!!! Hmm wonder if she ever did get her sept baby?! Hope not then remembers own edd being may 21st

happylass · 25/10/2013 17:38

It's half term yipeeeeee!!!

Lady I remember having the same thoughts this time last year about not wanting an August baby Blush. If only we could be that choosey eh?!

Barking good news on the FC appointment. Would it be possible to delay your hols for a few days or come back early? I know you also really need the break.

Welcome back Pip. Grrr to AF but great news on the IVF. Keeping everything crossed as always.

Powder I'd this your 1st time at the FC? I took my DP to our 1st appointment and he was definitely meant to be there. Not sure about our next appointment but I'm taking him anyway. A worst he'll have to sit in the waiting room. Better to be there in case he's needed I think.

BlindKitty · 25/10/2013 17:42

barking oh man it's slap bang in the middle of the week as well! Must have been a cancellation. Can you have a long weekend?

mrsw you'd prob wait ages for an appointment with the fc anyway. At least you can make a start.

powder 100% take dh with you! You'll only remember half of what's said so someone has to remember the other half!

barkingtreefrog · 25/10/2013 19:03

Powder at my FC they wouldn't have gone ahead with the appointment unless we were both there, it specified the importance of both of us attending in the letter. My appointment on wednesday is our third with the FC and I'm going because AF hasn't returned after a mc 52 days ago (I conceived on clomid) but even though it's clearly just about me this time DP still has to be there.

Weekend break is not possible as both weekends (and Monday) are busy, we were going Monday evening to Friday Sad . Might be able to go somewhere closer to home from weds evening until friday but we were going up to Scotland to stay with friends of mine I haven't seen for years and I was really looking forward to it. Cosy farmhouse, amazing home cooking and baking, a good old natter. Now I'll get a couple of days sitting in the camper van with the dog in a storm while DP goes surfing.... Hmm Confused

BlindKitty · 25/10/2013 19:12

Barking How about staying in a nice hotel with a spa so you can pamper yourself whilst dp goes surfing?

Bunnygirlie · 25/10/2013 19:40

Oh pip boo to AF but yay to next cycle of ivf!

lady I remember those days, don't want a baby over Christmas, don't want baby on my birthday, would rather not have baby born in August....... Ideally I'd love a spring baby but right now I just want a healthy baby anytime!!!

barking I agree, you just have to take the FC appt don't you, we give up so much for what we want don't we Sad

Hey powder remind us of your stats, and def take DP to FC!

mrsw fX the docs can get things progressing for you

News in bunny land, we have appt through for DHs sperm freeze, week after holiday, so much for DH cutting out the booze before the freeze, we are all inclusive FFS grrrrr

OP posts:
ladybunnikins · 25/10/2013 20:02

Bunny the life cycle of a sperm is 3 months so hopefully a few drinks a week before won't matter. He could always have the non-alcoholic cocktails!
