Here we go again.....

The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 6+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot) and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooooh aren’t we strict!

barking why don't you ask them for a blood test to 100% rule ou pregnancy and once that is confirmed, ask to be put on Provera, which will bring on af? I'd ask the FC if it were me, but only because my gp is useless and would refer me
To the FC anyway.

barkingtreefrog · 23/10/2013 08:39

I've booked a telephone appointment with the doctor. Doesn't hurt to ask!

SidneyBristow · 23/10/2013 12:26

Barking I think Feather's suggestion is a good one - glad you've made an appt, hope they do something other than tell you to go home and wait.

Trying to catch up on the thread while trying to research clinics. Going sloooooowly, on both fronts Sad Feel like my Berry name should be Bad Berry, bc I've been so AWOL lately. Hi to everyone Thanks

barkingtreefrog · 23/10/2013 14:23

Didn't get immediately fobbed off after telephone appointment, given an appointment tomorrow afternoon to go in. Fingers crossed they'll give me the drugs to bring it on!!! I'll hit day 50 tomorrow, I think that's long enough to wait!!!

ladybunnikins · 23/10/2013 14:32

That's good news. I know you said you're certain you haven't ovulated but have you PIMPed just in case? The GP will probably want to be sure you're not pregnant before giving drugs to bring on AF.

FeatherFeather11 · 23/10/2013 14:48

Good news barking. Agree with lady - you should def insist on blood test to make sure you're not preg before taking Provera.

CatsCantFlyFast · 23/10/2013 16:12

Barking that's great news Grin

CatsCantFlyFast · 23/10/2013 16:12

No news from yorkie?

BlueBirdy · 23/10/2013 16:12

Hi Barking, glad the ball is rolling again for you, hope it goes well tomorrow...

Thanks Merk, will keep that in mind... don't know if I should bother though Sad

Got a form from the FC today and needed to fill out a page on test results. Phoned up the doctors to get them. My Dr had told me my results are about normal and had always just assumed that DH's Dr would get in touch with him if anything to worry about (he never goes to the Dr) (and we have different Dr's anyway) Anyway our files or whatever are linked now so was able to get his results as well and been googling to try and see what is normal and count seems pretty low, but motility is pretty good, just the % of 'normal forms' was 0% in first test (2011) and 1% in 2013 test. That's pretty terrible, isn't it? Sad Sad

Does anyone know what exacly that could mean for us? I'm to scared to think about it let alone google it Sad.

CatsCantFlyFast · 23/10/2013 16:38

blue that's the morphology figure... I think from memory around 30% up is considered a normal reading. (No doubt other berries will be along to correct me if I'm wrong). Seems strange this wasn't flagged as an issue. Anyway I think this is one of those things that can be improved quite dramatically by lifestyle/diet changes so there is hope x

CatsCantFlyFast · 23/10/2013 16:41

blue
Helpful info here

ladybunnikins · 23/10/2013 17:09

Blue my husband had low morphology and low count on his first semen analysis. His diet wasn't that great so he made changes and started taking wellman tablets, since then his counts/morphology have been normal. It takes time to see a change though, the life cycle of a sperm is 3 months.

I can't remember where you are on the TTC conveyor belt but if you get to the IVF stage and the semen results are the same, it would probably mean ICSI/IMSI rather than straightforward IVF. It just means they inject a sperm straight into an egg, saving the sperm from the effort of getting inside the egg to fertilise it. It is available on the NHS in the same way that IVF is (i.e. postcode lottery), if going private it costs about an extra £1000.

I think Bunny is in a similar position and it sounds like this has resulted in a fast tracking of the process by her FC since conception is much less likely naturally.

yorkiebilb · 23/10/2013 17:35

Sorry merk nothing exciting to report here. I've been a bit of a donut plus fc haven't explained things properly to me.

My normal cycle is that I have a lp of 13 days with spotting starting on the 13th day. I normally get a sign that af is on its way with cramping plus I get incredibly sore bb's after ovulation until a few days before when they stop hurting and this is a sign af is due. I had all this happen this cycle so I KNOW that I am not pg and I had my big sob on Sunday and just decided to wait until af turned up.

I'm on 14 dpiui now and have suddenly realised that my af hasn't shown up yet because I'm taking progesterone suppositories and it won't arrive until I stop taking it. I think I am supposed to test with fmu (so this morning)on day 14 and then if it is a negative stop taking the progesterone. However, because in my infinite wisdom and because it wasn't clearly spelt out to me in the iui booklet they gave me I was just going to wait until af showed up which obv isn't going to happen if I'm taking this additional progesterone. All the booklet says is that they recommend testing 14 days after iui and if it is a negative to give them a bell to discuss next options with a consultant. It doesn't mention anything about the progesterone or when to stop taking it!

Sooooo long story ladies but I will test tomorrow morning. As I said I'm 99% certain it will be a bfn but feel a bit stoopid that I didn't work all this out before. Doh! Can I ask you to get ready for some consoling and positivity tomorrow please?!

barking I am so pleased you've got an apt - I think 50 days is long enough to wait now. Hopefully they can give you something and I am sure it will make you feel a bit better knowing that you can get on and try again.

Wow bunny your holiday sounds great. Hope you have an amazing time and can forget about ttc for a while.

sid what clinics are you looking at?

hello to everyone else and apologies for the very long explanation!

CatsCantFlyFast · 23/10/2013 17:49

yorkie I was worrying we had lost you! Consoling all ready for tomorrow but will also pray that you're wrong about what the result will be x

CatsCantFlyFast · 23/10/2013 17:50

Oh and how crap of your clinic to not explain things properly to you. Arseholes. It's stressful enough as it is!

Boodle9 · 23/10/2013 19:17

Hello Yorkie - nice to see you. Fingers crossed for tomorrow anyway, although I know the feeling of lost hope when you can feel the PMS symptoms kicking in. Mine are so obvious it's impossible to bury one's head in the sand over them! I hope you're wrong though and that pregnancy symptoms are identical to PMS!

Blue, my husband's morphology was iffy on his first test (3% I think?) but then he started on vitamins and did some diet tweaks and the follow-up was 'normal' (although the nuisance never actually found out what that actually meant in terms of numbers).

Barking, sorry you're still waiting. I hope the doctor can offer some explanations/solutions for you tomorrow.

Bunnygirlie · 23/10/2013 20:32

barking hope the docs do something tomorrow Hun x

blue my DH has low sperm count too and I was worried about it. Then my consultant told me I have PCO and endo too! Says its very unlikely we will get pg naturally so straight to ICSI for us!

Hey yorkie sorry to hear you are feeling crappy, will be here tomorrow if you need us x

Ouch, just popped a stitch! My tummy button looks soooooo orrible Sad

OP posts:
BlindKitty · 23/10/2013 22:11

birdie my dh's morph was 3% initially. Never actually had another formal sa but I banned all alcohol for 2 months prior to iui and insisted on healthy eating. Don't know whether it made a difference but it can't have hurt in getting diffed!

yorkie I can't even tell you how much I want you to be wrong! I bizarrely had no expectations whatsoever as well!

barking know its prob not going to accurate but would you have any idea what your temps are usually like post ov?

sid good to have you back bud

barkingtreefrog · 23/10/2013 22:49

feather & lady definitely not pg. Pimped earlier today just so I could tell the doctor I had done a test.

kitty Pre O temp are always 36.4. All temps since I started temping again a few weeks ago are

BlindKitty · 24/10/2013 07:16

barking you still might be more fertile, when you're next cycle starts

yorkie???

yorkiebilb · 24/10/2013 07:19

Not pregnant. Even though I knew I still feel pretty gutted Sad Thanks for all your messages. Think I'm just going to crawl into a hole somewhere and hide for a bit.

BlindKitty · 24/10/2013 07:26

On ffs, I was convinced you were wrong. I'd still do another tomorrow just in case. Brew

Thundercatsarego · 24/10/2013 07:45

I really sorry yorkie

Thanks and Wine for you x

ladybunnikins · 24/10/2013 07:51

Really sorry Yorkie.

CatsCantFlyFast · 24/10/2013 07:55

yorkie I'm so sorry. Sending cake and tea down the hole for you. Do you have another cycle? Stay positive if you can, its not about whether it will happen, it's about when it will happen for you. Hugs x
