Pip what's the timelines for your next cycle? Do you know yet?

sid how are you feeling

CatsCantFlyFast · 10/10/2013 17:28

Clinical trial some of you may be interested in;

www.nhs.uk/Conditions/Pregnancy/Pages/clinical-trial-details.aspx?TrialId=ISRCTN43430382&Condition=Pregnancy&pn=4&Rec=0&CT=0

barkingtreefrog · 10/10/2013 17:41

sid how do you know you're not pg? Shock ^^

Hi Boom I'm still waiting for this horrible cycle to end. It's starting to feel worse again (emotionally) as if it won't let me move on ----

An interesting qu for those of you who have used a clear blue fertility monitor at any point - did you pay any attention to the little 'window' on the stick or just read the monitor and throw the stick away without looking? My reason for asking is that I have 20 sticks that expire next month. I can't use the monitor until I get a cycle back (and have given up on it anyway) but was wondering whether to just poas each day with the sticks and see if they come up with two lines? Better than throwing them in the bin....

merk if you're doing a tricky shape like that and you want a smooth finish I'd go for ready rolled icing every time! I'm not good with fiddly decoration though. Talking of cakes, what happened to scone?

CatsCantFlyFast · 10/10/2013 17:50

Barking if the monitors are anything like a digi preg test I think they come up with two lines regardless i'm afraid

SidneyBristow · 10/10/2013 17:59

Merk I've never heard of ready rolled icing, but for me, buttercream wins every time. What's the occasion? I made a chocolate cake earlier in the week that was fab and if the recipe is to be believed, it's low fat which means it's practically healthy

Bunny that's a good one, I'll think of my eggs as crunchy shelled mini eggs also. Let's hope DH's swimmers have a sweet tooth Grin

Felt vomitey earlier today and have had AF-style cramps for a bit this afternoon and now I'm scared to go to the bathroom. Barking I don't know I'm not pg, but 15 cycles of trying have me mentally beaten down so honestly I may be one of these women who refuse to acknowledge a pregnancy until they have a baby in the toilet bowl Hmm Testing day I believe is Tuesday, but as I don't know for sure what day I'm on, I don't really want to test early and then become obsessive about it. Genuinely trying to be more zen about it this month!!

Thundercatsarego · 10/10/2013 18:00

Zen schmen

Bunnygirlie · 10/10/2013 18:28

Evening all! How are you all today?

merk when I did a funny shaped cake (chicken) we used buttercream!

barking keeping everything crossed that your cycle sorts itself out soon

sid my little mini egg chum, when is AF due?

mrswalker13 · 10/10/2013 18:33

merk my former colleague had a sideline in cake pops and she used white chocolate in her icing - afraid I don't know recipe - but it was good for smooth finish apparently.

sid FX (in a zen way...)

barkingtreefrog · 10/10/2013 18:45

I was talking to someone today about how difficult it is with pg colleague and pg friend and she told me that when she found out she was pg (21 years ago) she told her husband but he didn't seem to get his head round it, was acting strange. They'd been married 5 years and were trying, it wasn't an accident. 5 months into the pg he told her he'd met someone else and was leaving. She had to go through the rest of the pg and the birth on her own, seeing all the other new mums with their partners. I think her point was don't assume you'd rather be in the place of every pg woman you see. Fair point I suppose.

CatsCantFlyFast · 10/10/2013 18:47

I thought (after mixing up the buttercream) that chocolate would have been a good option, but too late now! Cake and buttercream crumb coat chilling in the freezer at the mo. started piping the grass but my piping bag split so I stuck that in the freezer to do tomorrow. Occasion is DHs birthday this weekend

BlindKitty · 10/10/2013 21:10

Pmsl at yorkies dh! Mine was really uptight about talking about it! I always remember a lecturer telling us about fertility centres in the 70s. She said all the mags were 'gardeners world' or 'fisherman's weekly', as if they're going to do any good!

BlindKitty · 10/10/2013 21:23

merk that trial would have been perfect for me!!!

barking my friends friend and her dh tried for about 10 years for a baby inc 3 failed ivfs. She then found out he'd been having an affair and left him. One night they met to discuss finances and end up sleeping with each other and..yep, you guessed it -diffed! She's now a single mum and he's still a twat!

sid don't forget how negative I was pre bfp! In fact I distinctly remember saying 'at least I'd tried iui so now I could say I definitely needed ivf'. All may seem lost but it could always be right around the corner

.bunny do glad it's not mini egg season for a good while!

FeatherFeather11 · 10/10/2013 21:28

Evening all!

kitty - how are you feeling?!

merkin snap! I'm making a cake with buttercream icing too! It's for a colleagues birthday tomorrow. It's still in the oven and smelling worryingly eggy Hmm

sid anything is possible! Got my fx for you.

Fx for you yorkie

As for me - I am totally freakin the hell out. Got dildocam at 8.30am tomorrow to see if there's any follicles after my clomid break and then doing 150mg. Have felt ovaries twinning these last couple of days, but experience has taught me that doesn't have to mean anything. Very nervous and anxious for my body to have reacted to the big dose. I've been night-sweating every day since I started the pills last week and that's just grossing me out now. Help!

FeatherFeather11 · 10/10/2013 21:31

I meant bunny how are you feeling! But also kitty! Find the thread hard to follow on my phone sometimes and up to my eyeballs in icing sugar.

Bunnygirlie · 10/10/2013 21:49

FX for a successful scan feather

I'm ok thanks, can't wait to take my sexy surgical stockings off tomorrow, I look a right sight, my tummy is bright red with 3 dressings on and all bloated like I'm pg lol

Anyone's DH/DP seen the 'penis beaker' and come home worried about what their partners are saying about them on mumsnet?! My DH actually came home with the article ripped out of the paper to show me concerned about what I was saying about him on here! Mwaaahhhh! I told him he wasn't that interesting! convieniently forgotting the story I posted about DH earlier!

yorkiebilb · 10/10/2013 21:55

Fx for tomorrow feather twinges sound like a good sign! Let us know how you get on.

Bunnygirlie · 10/10/2013 22:11

Grin at mr yorkie

FeatherFeather11 · 10/10/2013 22:38

Thanks bunny and yorkie, we'll see! Don't want to get hopes up as if it's disappointing news I need to be able to keep it together as I have a full on day at work straight after.

bunny swelling will go down in a couple of days. I was told to drink pineapple juice and coconut water -pineapple to minimise bruising and coconut water as it's super-hydrating.

Just asked dp if 'penis beaker' meant anything to him and he looked at me like I have two heads. Poor thing's a bit jumpy about all the hospital tests after a traumatic SA analysis experience! Men! Wink

RevoltingPeasant · 10/10/2013 22:45

Bunny post procedure is not pretty, eh! I remember after my kidney surgery looking in the mirror and thinking I looked like the body they drag out of the water in the first five minutes of a thriller Confused am sure you look much better, though!

So DH and I dtd 3 times in my fertile window for the first time ever. It is a major victory!! We were both impressed by his prowess and manliness Grin although he keeps talking about how tired he is today and keeping up his strength with random toast Hmm

So this is CD19 of what is presumably a 30 or 31 d cycle judging by last month and when I OV this month. Thirteen days to wait for AF!

BlindKitty · 11/10/2013 07:13

rp that's amazing news! Maybe the fact he's managed will psychologically help next month too? What am I saying? There won't be a next month!!!!

feather erm I'm ok too haha

yorkie yes, dh told we to watch what I say but only because someone had linked it on fb. It's hardly like we've all got banners with our names and personal details on! Although would be mortified if anyone invited this girl to our fb group!

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/10/2013 07:17

feather good luck today. Let us know how you get on
rp great news. Are the new drugs helping then? Have the headaches gone? Nice crosshairs from FF this morn chart stalking Grin

CatsCantFlyFast · 11/10/2013 07:18

sid?

BlindKitty · 11/10/2013 08:33

feather hope all goes well today

barkingtreefrog · 11/10/2013 08:45

yorkie it was in the paper?!

sid how many dpo are you?

bunny hope you're feeling less sore

feathers good luck

I managed to find the answer to my cbfm question here and as I thought, you can see from the sticks without using the monitor, so I'm going to keep poas rather than throw them away!
