This is all so new & scary to me so just looking for people I can chat to who know as fewof the abbreviations as me and are going through all the same scary stuff for the first time!! Either that or some pro's who don't mind my million questions!!

I'm very early stages as in body still coming off the contraceptive pill so it might be a while til a get my BFP (I do know that one!!) so might need some chums in the meantime!

Hi, I'm 25 and was ttc for approx 3 cycles (only properly for 2 cycles though). Found out I was pg at about 5 weeks and unfortunately miscarried at about 7.5 weeks. We were both absolutely gutted and I can say it was more upsetting than any death I've ever had to deal with.

I've been given 2 weeks off work but I feel guilty taking that long. I'm a teacher and just keep thinking about my classes. But then I think 'well why should my job mean I go back to work quicker than others would?'.

I think we're going to try again around Nov. I'm just so scared incase it happens again. Now my family know we were ttc, I hope they don't start hinting/trying to guess again in a few months.

The month I got pg was the first month I made sure I stayed lying down for about 20 minutes and tilted my bum up after dtd, we dtd every other day around the time I ovulated. Tmi alert...! We dtd a couple of days before my phone app said I would be fertile, the day I got really snotty looking cm (which is the day my app said I'd be fertile), two days after that and another two days after that. It worked anyway :)

Good luck ladies!

Thanks meringue baby & Tina, it's just a relief to talk to people who feel the pressure & frustrations too, I just seem to look at my friends/sister & even mum who said dad just had to look at her and she was pregnant & think there's something not quite right with me.
I will never return to the contraceptive pill.

Wispy woo, I'm so sorry for what has happened, you deserve to take all the time in the world to come to terms, sending my deepest condolences & Wishing you the best for the future xxx

Wispy sorry for your loss Flowers

Haven't read the thread through properly recently but just wanted to pop back in and say 'Hi'

Surely someone must be needing to test soon, can we have a live POAS thread?

I have definately convinced myself that I am pg... which must be close to impossible (TMI alert) because we have only dtd twice this week following my pill bleed. But I feel 'weird', it's probably only coming off the pill weirdness, but I can't help but symptom spot!

I'll keep at it, hee hee, this weekend and if weird feelings carry on, I will POAS for fun late next week. I surely need to check that I know how to POAS, you know, in case the real thing occurs soon?!

I can't be tho only one eager to POAS, anyone else?

Well (TMI) three days of unexplained, severe wind has started to make me twitchy! Lol! Now on CD40 and no AF, I remember seeing EWCM on day 28, we managed to DTD day 29 but that's it! So even if I did ov late, it's highly doubtful!
I'm going to leave it until next week and if AF has still not arrived I'll POAS! (Again!).
I'm reluctant to do it, the disappointment seems to get worse as the months go by.
Best of luck everyone Smile xxx

meringue I totally understand re the pill! I was having the injection a few years ago but came off it as I didn't know the long term affects. it took a while for my periods to return to normal. You will know when you're back on track though.

I was actually quite reluctant to POAS! Resisted for at least 5days last time!

How far into your cycle are you Tina? When AF finally shows up I was gonna get the clear blue opks & chart for the next one to try my damnedest to find out when/if I ovulate, are you taking any supplements? I'm sure I read that they can increase your fertile CM, I'm on conceptioncare, keep positive Thanks

breakingbadaddict I'm on CD 49. I have in the past had a 70 day cycle so I am resisting testing until then.

has anyone in this group been lucky yet? just after having implant out i got a visit from AF, and it felt like a pre implant AF if that makes sense! we are going to have a go this month and up until xmas and then start temping etc!!
I am just concerned, i think my arm is infected from where implant came out :( nothing is ever straightforward with me, and cant help but feel that i am going to end up disappointed for quite a while!!

Hi Newleywed, (congratulations!) sorry to hear you have an infection, can you get some antibiotics?
3 days after I stopped the pill in may, I got a withdrawal bleed, which was just like a period I had when taking the pill, then got a 'regular' AF 39 days later, then another 53 days and still waiting for my third 41 days in! It does get disheartening to be irregular and not get 'caught' anytime, but we're all in the same boat and you never know you might have better luck! I would suggest trying to chart from day one, to try and find a pattern. I haven't and wish I had as I'm so irregular. I will start next time, when AF shows her ugly head.
I don't know if it's the same from the implant, but the first month post pill, I had every pregnancy symptom under the sun, nausea, sore breasts, hunger, tiredness, emotional, apparently its usual from your body trying to adjust back to normal. (Bloody frustrating though)!
Best of luck x

I'm on cd 17 but pre-pill my cycles were around 30 days! Need some advice tho....
We dtd last night in case I was ovulating (didn't use the opk's to check first tho - just went with the flow, don't want dh feeling used, lol!) and today I've got ewcm, but could it just be remnants of something else if you know what I mean ;) was planning on having a few glasses of wine tonight with the girls but don't know if I should or not?! Hello again ladies, I haven't posted on here for a while due to head being all over the place like a crazy woman. I'm currently 19DPO and will be a week late tomorrow...

I've been symptom spotting like a crazy woman since 3DPO (things like spotting for 2 days at 5DPO, sore and sensitive BBs, cramps, mega hot all the time, indigestion, nausea, dizziness, insomnia, weird and vivid dreams when I can sleep, lotion like CM) and still BFNs (the last one on Tuesday or Wednesday)

FX for everyone :)

Hi Tina EWCM is fertile CM so I wouldn't worry too much about having some wine tonight :)

tinaw20 · 04/10/2013 10:26

Oooh fx indeed!! When are you poas? I'm just paranoid about doing anything that'll have an impact on my fertility! Damn doctors!! Will have to dtd again tonight if I'm compos mentis after a few, but wasn't sure if it was ewcm or something else? X

Tina If that was to me, I'll probably wait to POAS again since I'm not buying cheap ones haha. Maybe wait and see if I still have nothing at 2 weeks late then test again :) or I might buy cheapies to test with anyway :)

Uhm in my experience the 'other stuff' usually breaks up and is expelled or absorbed or something the night of dtd anything coming out now is all you (: because I read in my book (I'll check which one later and let you know) that the Sperm are only in the ejaculate fluid (to help protect against the acidity of us) until it mixes with the EWCM which helps it go through the cervix. Or something along those lines. Besides plenty of people have gone out on complete alcoholic benders before finding out they're pregnant and go on to have healthy babies :)

Sorry neurotic, yeah it was to you! Yeah go get a cheapy one and test soon! The suspense would kill me!!
I'll maybe use an opk when I get tonight before the girls arrive, dh works shifts though so won't get in until 1am and is up early again so we've only got a tiny window :( I'll maybe just stick the one bottle of wine then, can still enjoy myself on that ;) x

That's okay :) think I might but another BFN would be so disappointing. If you're just ovulating now it would take a few days for an implantation anyway so a bottle or so won't hurt :) x

Can I ask a complete beginners question? How do you temp / chart? What do you look for? We've been ttc since June but I havent had any sort of regular cycle since periods started when i was 13. They seem so random - had coil out in june and have had my first period this week - while coil was in i had a random 1 day bleed every couple of months and before that I was on the injection and they disappeared completely then. Because my system has never settled down, I dont think I know what to expect.

Me and dh did say we were going to have a low pressure approach to this - just dtd often, enjoy it and it if happens it happens but we were not going to worry - but it isnt working out that way for me and im wondering if maybe i should be temping to work out when would be the best time to pounce dtd? Wink

Hi handbagcrazy, we've been trying since June too, I don't fully get the whole temping thing I think you check your temp with a special thermometer as soon as you wake up in the morning (the same time every day) & look for a spike which means you should be ovulating, I got a kit from Amazon that wasn't expensive it came with the basal thermometer/chart/ovulation sticks etc it does tell you what to do but I gave up when my temp just seemed to go up & down every day! I will try again next time & have a bit more patience!

HandbagCrazy · 04/10/2013 22:04

Ah, thank you!! I thought that was bit of a newbie question. I feel a bit naive - at 28, my cycle has never been allowed to just settle down so i have no idea if i have any sort of pattern!

I think i'll look into getting a kit - may have to wait until christmas before dh will agree though - he's very sensitive to us getting stuck in the sex-by-numbers approach and it becoming too pressured.

Hope someone is having better luck than me!! x

Handbag I'm 28 in a couple weeks and was a complete novice til some good ladies on here gave me great advice so don't feel embarrassed!! I've been charting every day for 2 weeks and tbh I haven't noticed a pattern at all yet so I'm guessing it may take a few months! With no obvious signs of ovulation also I'm just kicking myself that I may have left dtd till too late but there is always next month and we shouldn't put so much pressure on ourselves to get the BFPs so soon!! X
