Ladies need some more advice please... Had ewcm for the last 2 days but today there was tons and it had a brownish tint to it - is this normal? My opk reading yesterday was negative but we dtd today anyway just in case! According to the charts I'm on a fertile day due to my cm but have no other indicating factors, my temp is all over the place! So it says I'm not on a fertile day but never had so much ewcm before!! Any ideas???

From what I've googled you see ewcm before ovulation so I'd try checking opks for the next day or so & keep up DTD! This is a useful thread if you scroll down someone has been very thorough in their explanation of what happens when!

Breaking that was a really helpful link, thanks! It's just the shade of it that I'm confused at now, it's almost like the last few days of af and I'm feeling a bit bloated and sore tummy today! Fingers crossed I'm fertile though! Only got 10 days or so til the first possible due date of my af so only time will tell! Just have to be patient now! X

Good luck to you all on this thread. I won't bore you all with my very long story but I want to recommend reflexology and also dietary changes. A very good book is called getting pregnant faster by Marilyn Glenville. Also, Before your pregnancy by Amy Ogle and Lisa Mazzullo, Zita West's Guide to getting pregnant, the Infertility cure by Randine Lewis. All can be bought cheap on Amazon for about a quarter of the regular price. You can always get the delivery to your work address if you don't want your DH to think you are obsessing. Good luck everyone!!

Hi Nikki,

I too am having similar problems to you, came off the pill In feb and had one normal period, since then pretty much nothing other than spotting and no regular cycles! Very annoying!! Been TTC since about march with no joy yet so it's just a waiting game I guess!

Really blue today, I'm nauseous, tired, spotty & at 42 days this cycle without a period I've POAS several times & got BFNs as expected just been to see my pregnant sister who showed me all her recent purchases, her third child, I'm so happy for her but I just feel useless, I'm pretty sure I don't ov, the one time I tried opks they were negative all month, yet I get ewcm? I know I've got to wait a year but after 5 months with only two periods so far I'm getting more disillusioned :(

Hi, I'm a complete novice. Have read through the posts with lots of interest. Not currently actively ttc, came off pill with a view to ttc in December. Have not yet had a normal period and am on day 34 from last withdrawal bleed. I know it's not super late but panicking as there have been a couple of times we got carried away this month, not a prob if it's a bfp but I am a control freak! After being on the pill for 15 yrs don't like this feeling of no control over my body. Anyone else in a similar situation?

I'm having a completely different problem to you I'm afraid but need someone to please tell me if I should be worried? As I've said, been ttc since June. Before that I had a coil (and used various forms of hormone based contraception before that). I have no pattern or regular cycle. I've had my first period since coil was taken out in June but it's been going for 8days. Side effects faded after about 5 days but still bleeding. Am starting to worry there's something wrong. Could this be normal? x

breaking I know that feeling, my skin is awful after stopping the pill... can someone memo my brain and report that I am now 30 and do not need the skin of a 15yr old!! raaah. I am yet to decend into out right jealousy of another woman's baby, but I can totlally see it happening if BFP is not forthcoming in the next 4-5months. On the plus side, we'll all be here to help so please dont feel too sad, here is some choccy cake, it always helps me! Cake

Came off the pill last month after 15yrs on it too Rhi... have no scooby what to expect, just dtd merrily, hoping for a little miracle. Have you thought about POAS, if 34 days is late for you it might be an idea if you 'got carried away' Wink I'm going to be mad as all hell if my normal period take months to reappear... I'll be thinking I am pg and it'll be gutting when it turns out to be a stupidly long cycle thanks to the pill!

Handbag I have no idea if you should be worried. Could you call NHS direct or use Dr Google to find out if this is normal? I've never had a coil.

DH is away for work until Weds (our wedding anniversary) then I'm going away until Sun... might pounce seduce him when he gets back! Lucky devil!

breaking and meringue my skin has been awful since I came off the pill as well, in a way I haven't seen since I was a teenager. It's horrible! I was originally put on Dianette at about 14 to try to control my skin, but it didn't work so ended up on very strong stuff that did the job but it appears it is still a bit ropey now I'm off the pill. Stupid things! Waiting for AF is bad enough.

I can't get my head round EWCM. Is it meant to feel very wet? Sorry, tmi! I kept feeling that AF was coming on my last cycle due to that feeling, but it was only ever CM of some form, I was at about CD 40-45 at the time so rather late, but it turned out I only OVed on CD43. I'm not guessing it was EWCM but I don't know! I have read about it but can't get my head around what to look for!

On the plus side, DH is finally on his way home tonight after 3+ months away, so we can actually get on with ttc!

Ok AF finally arrived today, when do I start opk so I can figure out if I'm ovulating at all? Spent the last 2 years losing weight ready so want to make sure everything is in working order before TTC.

Barmybunting, think clear egg white, sometimes I feel like I'm having a period when it comes out, thick gloopy & if you can stomach it, try to stretch it between your fingers if it stretches chances are that's the goop you want! If it's just wet & a bit milky white in colour that's just mucus.
My skins really getting me down now, there's just no let up every day there's more, I hope this isn't it now for life :( I was put on dianette too but wonder if I'd sat it out & stayed off the pill by now, aged 30, my skin would have settled down! (I forget however, how utterly miserable I was being bullied at school, so at least now I don't have to put up with that)

Rhibee, can you try temping from now (cd1) you're looking for a spike in temperature to show when you ov, on an 'average' 28 day cycle they say you ov between 10-14 days after the first day of your period, I'm pretty sure there's an ovulation predictor here on the mumsnet site, have a look at the conception section

breakingbadaddict I don't think I ovulate either. Have you been to doctor about your cycle? Apparently it should be investigated if your cycle doesn't fit into the normal 21-35 day range.

breakingbadaddict · 08/10/2013 11:15

I saw a nurse in August when my period was so late then and she said that it can take up to a year for your cycle to settle in post pill. So i reckon if I go back they will just send me away again to wait until June (a year since stopping pill).
I can't help but worry about the wasted time though, I really wish i'd started sooner :(
Sorry to hear you are having problems too. Have you seen a doctor?

Hi everyone!

I've been lurking around for a while too and thought it best that I sign up and introduce myself!

Firstly please forgive if I seem a little confused with all the lingo, I know what grandparents feel like now when they see txt spk!

I'm 28 (almost 29) and have been with my OH for nearly 2 years. We decided at the beginning of the year that we would start trying for our first addition around December this year. I came off the pill at the end of September after being on it, on and off for about 10 years with the idea that we would give my body chance to get back into some kind of rhythm. I am yet to see whether it's going to get back to "normal" straight away or whether it's going to take time. It'd be good to hear what other's experience of this is smile I was on Microgynon for about 7 years (although I would say it was probably only about 3 years in total) and then I switched to Cilest as my moods were terrible on Microgynon.

I have the worries that I expect everyone of us has e.g. constantly thinking that I haven't fallen pregnant in the last 10 years despite many times I had forgotten to take the pill so there's clearly something wrong, worries about my age, worries about just not being able to conceive etc etc

Anyway I've probably bored you enough but I look forward to speaking to everyone soon and sharing everyone's journey smile

P.S. I've just realised that my username is quite the innuendo shock

Hi sausagesaurus (love it!!)

You have described me to a t! I'm the opposite with the pills tho, started off on cilest, went psycho so switched to Microgynon! I'm 28 in 9 days, been married for 3 yrs and had been on the pill on and off since I was 14 due to the horrendous cramps I used to get! I'm on CD23 and still no sign of ovulation, apart from the right kind of cm, but all ovulation tests have been negative, so I'm also wondering how long my body will take to get back to normal!! Feel free to let off as much steam as you need :) x

haha it's actually what my OH calls me! I've never noticed the innuendo before but I'm going to have to ask him now!

And I've just realised my smiley faces didn't work so it just looks like I've added random emotion words! Hmm < see I can do it Smile

Haha "went psycho", I was pretty much like that on Microgynon, my ex knew just not to speak to me when I was on my 7 day break! I went to the doctors to ask them to change it and the GP said, quite patronisingly, "the pill can not affect your moods, but we'll change it anyway"! I was a little concerned that she didn't seem to understand that the pill affects your hormones! That's a different story anyway!

I'm trying to steer away from tests and kits for now as I know I'll just become obsessed with it and probably end up like Monica from Friends. I'm starting to wonder whether we should just go with the flow and not wait until December though. My only concerns is if it happens now, it changes our plans somewhat, well, just by bringing home buying forward a few months, however, I don't want to wait until December for it to then take months from then to happen. I suppose it'll happen when it's meant to happen! See, I'm already over thinking things!

I hope it doesn't take much longer for you to get back to normal. Waiting is always the worst part of any plan! x

I am hypothyroid which can go hand in hand with PCOS so I am going to ask my doctor if I can be tested for it.Irregular cycles, not ovulating, bad skin and tiredness are all symptoms so perhaps worth asking your GP about being tested for it as well?
