I'm very early stages as in body still coming off the contraceptive pill so it might be a while til a get my BFP (I do know that one!!) so might need some chums in the meantime!

Not sure if we're allowed to post to products but I got my whole charting kit on Amazon here and it's brilliant. Comes with the chart - everything is in there, including the thermometer. A normal house one doesn't go to two decimal places so you do need to buy a special one.

I've been taking my temperature as soon as I wake up - even if I go back to snoozing at the weekends, and it seems to be doing the trick for me as there is a pattern to be seen.

Mine seems to work ok, gives readings of 36.4 etc which is what the charting site I use is looking for.... I think?! I've only done it twice, once at night once in the morning so no pattern yet! I think I'll stick to morning readings too! And checking cm before a shower seems to be working ok! Any other tips from anyone?

Hello all, yet another newbie here! 30 years old, cycle 1 ttc using the CBFM (can you tell I've been lurking for some time?). Enormously excited about the whole thing and so pleased to find somewhere that I can talk about this. One of my friends gave birth recently and after asking if we wanted to start a family soon and being told that we did, smugly remarked that we probably shouldn't tell anyone that in case we couldn't have children. So hurrah for the interweb, fingers crossed that the pressure of anticipation is lifted somewhat!

Eeeekkk! Me and hubby are wanting to start ttc! I have had issues with getting implant removed and I am seeing a specialist in the morning! As soon as it's out we are not going to use any other form of contraception! My cycles however have never been regular so I've just downloaded an app to be able to keep track!
Wish me luck at the hospital tomorrow!
Go d luck everyone!

Hi everyone, I have very apprehensively joined this site too after browsing for a couple of years on and off.. I'm 33 and since last week embarked with hubby on the ttc journey- ttc 1 at present. Obsessing with the whole thing as I feel very weird in my body after ttc1 (strange cramps almost immediately after ttc, huge appetite, AF due in 8 days) and trying hard to keep cool!
I had been an occasional smoker :/ and had taken Niquitin lozenges for a long time and am hoping that won't have effects on the ttc.. Good luck to everyone!

Hi everyone, it's my first time posting too! Came off the pill in August so am sort of guessing cycle, although last time of month was 28 days after end of post pill cycle and have had EWCM on day 16 of this cycle so think I am in my 2ww! Good luck everyone.

Hi everyone, can I join in too? I am 31 and came off the pill (Cilest) at the beginning of August and myself and DP are TTC number 1! I am already obsessing and googling like a crazy woman and finding it really hard to concentrate on anything other than baby making!

Am currently on cycle 2 so first proper cycle after a proper period and not just my pill withdrawl bleed.

Now we have made the decision to try for a baby I just want it to happen now! I am such an impatient person! I seem to be seeing pregnant women all over the place and 3 of my work collegues have announed pregnancies in the last couple of weeks!

Wow, lots of lurkers have emerged Wink

Quick Q to anyone who temps, does the thermometer have to have two decimal places or is one place past the point sensitive enough?

Officially stopped AF now so am hoping that I'll be ov in the next 2 weeks, when Dh's Mum and Dad will be staying with us. Hmm

Report
barmybunting · 24/09/2013 19:23

My thermometer just has the one decimal point, and it's been accurate enough to show a shift for ovulation so far which agrees with opks.

Mine just has the one too! My temps have been very different so far though, not sure if normal or not?! Started on the folic acid today, not sure if I'll see any benefits though! I do feel I'm becoming a little obsessed as couldn't sleep last night for thinking about it!! Neeeeed to chill Confused x

It's official we are ttc! Implant removal was awful! Implant is out!!
But it's out!!!! Took 20mins to find it on ultrasound! Then had to be prepped and have the anaesthetic! It was 1.7mm away from my main artery and lots of nerves! It had moved down loads and to the right by a couple of cm! 1hr of digging in my arm 3 top ups of anaesthetic! Stitches need to come out next week! It had never taken him more than 40 mins from start to finish before! He said it would be one he won't forget! :-D

Will have to wait for things to settle down but the hormone had been wearing off! Going to get some frolic acid and hope for the best!

Good luck ladies!

Wow - great to see so many of us on here.

AF has been lighter for me this month so been testing every day hoping it's implantation bleed, as due to late OV on day 20 with a 31 day cycle it's not easy to tell - but and even I know that testing every day like this is obsessing waaaayyy too much!! But I can't help it Blush

Ellabella - like you I'm definitely an impatient woman on these matters!

Newlywed - sorry to hear about your drama - but at least you can start now start SWI Smile

Well I used my first ever OPK this morning. The clear blue one with the smiley face and I got an error message. What a great start! Confused

Newly well done, that sounds awful but I know someone who conceived on her first month after the Implant!

Newly don't worry, I only use OPKs when I am sure I am near to ovulating (correct CM etc) and then I do two a day, one in the morning and one in the evening. As ov can happen in 12 hours you can miss a positive OPK if you only do one a day.

Started temping this morning, I'm officially out of control Grin
Decided to dtd every 3 days and then every other day around ov as it will be a major turn off for DH if he knows im only interested in conceiving.

p.s I use Ebay cheapies 50 OPKS for £6.99

Thanks for the advice on the eBay sticks. I will have a look as at £2 a stick in Superdrug I will be bankrupt before a baby even arrives! I am thinking just dtd every other day for the 2 weeks after my period ends and look out for all the ovulation signs. must not turn into a crazy lady !

I think we're all as keen as each other so don't worry about being over excited just yet!! Interestingly enough I had a chat with the chemist today who completely disagreed with what the doc had told me about folic acid so the 'experts' aren't always as clued up as you think!!

Anyone else taking Pregnacare? I started in August when we agreed to TTC?

Tinaw like you the doc told me to start taking Folic acid (prefer frolic acid as the name Wink hence the pregnacare did your chemist disagree on this?

Hi, I'm new on here as well, also trying to learn the abbreviations and what everything means! Everything seems quite scary at the moment and in agreement with others after trying so long NOT to get pregnant now I'm trying it seems like the hardest thing in the world. Am 30 and came off the pill after about 13years in April, got a cycle straight away which was good but nothing else so far.
Will be nice to have other people to talk to that are also trying to help understand it all!!x

Haha, love it! My doc had said that if I started taking pregnacare (which I intend to ASAP!) then I should prob stop the frolic acid as the dose would be high enough but the chemist said that was rubbish and I could easily take both, she did however suggest alternating the folic acid and pregnacare daily though, which seems like a plan?! Which pregnacare ones are you on? They had 3 different boxes so I didn't get one yet, I'm guessing they're for different stages of pregnancy?

I'm taking sanatogen mum to be which you can take beforehand and also while pregnant... It has 400 mcgfolic acid and 10 mcg vitiams D

Report
SJD99 · 25/09/2013 21:57

Great tip on the alternating - might need to do that myself - just to keep those frolic levels up!

Yeah there are all sorts of variations, for before, after and with extra supplements. I got super confused so kept things simple and went for original in the end - the biggest box I could find.
