Anyone about to start/just started TTC number 2?

mrsm22 · 03/09/2013 20:35

Hi ladies, I am 31 and have one DS already. After my DS I went back on the pill but have decided to stop the pill and start TTC baby number 2 and wondered if anyone was also just about to start trying or just started and we could follow each other and share as we go along. I literally have stopped my pill last week for the 7 day break, and am meant to start taking it again tomorrow but obviously won't be, so I am very literally just starting to try for number two but am very excited! That's why I thought it might be nice to go through it with other people who are also trying. I have heard some people say that after your first baby you are more fertile but I am not sure so I am really not sure how long it will take this time. Does it usually not take as long second time round? It has taken a lot for me to decide for definite that I'd like another as I had an awful time in labour with forceps and 3rd degree tears etc which really scared me and must admit I'm terrified of another scary birth experience.

Hello and welcome Roy, goodbye good luck and no offence taken metal.

I am ovulating! Big whoop. never thought I'd write that on an internet forum So I'm technically fertile I think? Of course this classically coincides with the in laws staying. Hmm. Although we worked out that ds was conceived while mum was staying last time, so maybe a furtive fumble is a winner!

HungryHorace · 25/10/2013 20:42

Hi Mrs! DD's in a bit of pain. She's already had some Calpol which I try to reserve for nighttime. She's not napped very well today either. Come on teeth!!

I have no plans really. I've says that DH should ask his dad to come round (his mum is away) but I've not been told if it's happening or not. If the weather's ok I'll try to get out for a walk.

What's everyone else up to?

W00t to OV, utopian! :-) Are you using OPKs? And if you don't get preggo with your furtive (I suggest the floor!) fumble at least AF will definitely come now! Fx. ;-p

lucyjojo · 25/10/2013 20:45

Evening ladies.
Hurray for toothpastes sister!!! Its this thread!! Its even lucky by association!!!! I bet she is over the moon, fx it all goes well for her.
metal you probably won't even read this now but just in case I totally understand you backing away for a bit. I have been feeling myself get more and more irate about the whole thing, I literally can't think about anything else, so I don't blame you for not wanting to obsess over it. Please let us know when you get your BFP though!!
I was pretty good when pg, but I struggled to give up my caffeine addiction,I did cut it down to one maybe two cups of tea in the first 12 weeks, then re-introduced coffee afterwards, but only one cup a day. I suppose caffeine is actually one of the worst things for growing babies, but I figured I'd be much worse if I had to go through caffeine withdrawal too!! Mrs I bought some decaf tetley a few very optimistic weeks ago, and I suppose you can tell the difference, but it's still perfectly drinkable and it's got to be better than no tea!
Kt mickey mouse biscuits sounds challenging, some pics would be nice please when they are all done! Grin
Hello RoyMum I am also 27 and my DD will be 2 in a fortnight. Hope you fall pg a bit quicker this time.
Well I am just tucking into some pineapple, apparently it helps implantation along? (Hungry I'm sure you will know the answer!!) Its a bit late past ov really but it can't hurt.

HungryHorace · 25/10/2013 20:52

Pineapple and implantation, Lucy? That's a new one on me! :-) fx it works for you!

We managed to DTD this afternoon. In between cuddling DD. That was the last useful attempt this cycle. My ovaries (still worried about the both!) still ache so hopefully we will be fertilising an egg soon. Gaaahhhh...I really want this!

HungryHorace · 25/10/2013 20:54

Oh, anyone else on their phone...what banner ads can you see? My bloody employer keeps popping up on mine and I'm not sure if it's targeted through my email account or everyone can see it? It's My Legal Friend, BTW.

Toothpastekissesno2 · 25/10/2013 20:55

Thanks all! Yes everyone associated will fall pregnant in the next 6 months. I predict it now!
Utopian that made me laugh. I'm at inlaws and can't imagine much fumbling tonight but I expect it would be different if I was in o time!! It's back to button up pjs and big knickers for next two weeks before the lingerie gets dusted off again!
Lucy I might test on 1st but expecting af before then and def wouldn't do it before thurs. X

lucyjojo · 25/10/2013 21:14

Haha utopian go for it!! It will give you a giggle if nothing else. Glad you are ovulating! Also never thought that would be something I would say to someone!!
Im using a laptop so can't help you sorry Hungry. Yep, app eating pineapple core in the days 1-5 post ovulation can help the implantation. But it can't be consumed before ovulation as this is bad....can't remember why though. I'm with you there Hungry, trying not to think about how badly I want this. Well done on the DTD, and baking - very productive day! Well I did actually work through my lunch break to get home early to get down to business with DH. We literally had 20 mins before he had to leave for work tonight, so we stuck DD in front of the TV, dashed upstairs and DTD. We were done and dusted before an episode of balamory had even finished.
I think today we reached a new low!!!!!

HungryHorace · 25/10/2013 21:30

Ha! Not as low as my low yesterday, but not far off there, Lucy! :-)

I foresee pineapple shopping this weekend now. I'll save to look at that one. Very interesting.

lelly78 · 25/10/2013 22:23

Hello ladies, may I join you [shocGrin
Not sure whether I will manage to keep up, I always start with the best intentions but it never works out for me. However utopian have a furtle... you may get lucky and Lucy that Balmoral comment made me lol Confused

So technically I am on my 2ww but still having a Wine I have a 10 month old DS who I am still Bf at least 4 times every 24 hours despite trying to cut it back as I am back at work ft. I have had 2 sorry excuses for periods and used OPK's for the first time this month but no positive to be seen. Envy

Anyone got any magic tips to help my cycle kick in again? Have been taking evening primrose and Angus castus so far...

Hope my waffle is ok Blush

mrsm22 · 26/10/2013 01:21

Hello lelly and welcome, of course you can join us. This thread started early September and so far we've had 4 BFP's, 3 of those all around the same time which is nice as baby's should be due around the same time. Good luck x

HungryHorace · 26/10/2013 07:49

Hi lelly. The more the merrier!

And isn't it 5 BFPs with pencils coming back to say she'd got hers?! Amazing number of successes anyway.

I'm officially in the 2WW now taps fingers impatiently

donnas1984 · 26/10/2013 07:52

Hi Donna - are you having a party for your DD? My DS's birthday is 28th December, so 3 days after Xmas so I know exactly how it is. We've decided to have a pirate party this year on the 28 th . Last year we had a Mickey Mouse party. Donna - have you told many people yet? Are you feeling very pregnant or not yet ? Are you still eating the same things or have you found yourself going off things?
Hungry - would you pm me your Lemon drizzle recipe (if you don't mind sharing)? I really fancy cake.
Who was it who mentioned the Disney magazine coming out with Mickey Mouse recipes etc?

IBelieveInEngels · 26/10/2013 08:22

Welcome roy abd lelly.

Lovely news for your dsis toothpaste.

Lucy that sounds like serious commitment to ttc!

Fx for everyone on their 2ww. Feel a bit in limbo...never thought I'd say this, but hurry up AF!

Ds managed to climb out of his bed this morning Shock he turned up in our room at about 6.30am, so guess the side of his bed has to come off which means some sleepless nights/early mornings for us now!

Right, am determined not to be on mn all weekend and actually get stuff done so pledge not to come back until this evening (if you see me on here feel free to give me a clip round the ear).

HungryHorace · 26/10/2013 09:41

My DH's birthday is 23/12. Annoying it's so close to Christmas. For him especially!

Mrs, cake recipe sent via PM. :-)

I'm still trapped on the bedroom nursing chair as DD had a rubbish night and this was the only thing which would get her to settle. She's not eaten much either so far, so I'm hoping she wakes hungry at some point. After I've eaten my bacon sandwich which is just being made, that is!

utopian99 · 26/10/2013 09:52

Hello lelly and congrats to your sister toothpaste!

Mrsm ds is 27/12 which is a real bummer for him. Doing small family birthday this year as it'll mostly go over his head, but thinking of giving him a royal birthday on the date his maming was on instead next year 14/09.

Ds has gone backwards sleep wise- last week he was sleeping 8-5am, now I can't put him down without him waking again. Ugh.
He will sleep for an hour or so if dh puts him down though, Hmm so furtiveness achieved! Thankfully dh doesn't mind the hilarious unsexiness of the situation - he woke up this morning and asked in a very cheesy american newsreader voice "so, do ya feel fertilised"? Grin

donnas1984 · 26/10/2013 10:00

mrsm we go to a wee toddler group and most of her friends are at the same class so were having a wee tea party there then a bunch type thing the sunday after.
ive only told my work as im really chucking upSad and a few close friend n family im already in my early mat jeans but think its due to bloating. how are you keeping? its so hqrd ro keep secret coz its good news! Grin

donnas1984 · 26/10/2013 10:01

so do ya? utopian haha x

Kt1991 · 26/10/2013 10:10

Morning everyone, welcome to the newbies! mrs that was me who mentioned the Mickey Mouse biscuits Smile we are going it give them a go so if they turn out okay will put a pic up on FB! toothpaste that's great news about your sister! hope your not waiting to long after for yours! lucy and hungry glad we're not the only ones who stick DS in front of the tv, don't feel too bad now lol.

HungryHorace · 26/10/2013 11:03

Ha, utopian! That's the kind if thing my DH says!

He was checking yesterday if we've DTD as much as we can and is very interested in how I feel in the 2ww. :-)

I'm still feeling crampy / achey which is odd as OV would've happened yesterday at the latest.

Hope everyone has a lovely day. :-)

Stacks · 26/10/2013 12:18

My DS was born 25/12.. So the maximum unlucky! I'm interested in how you all manage birthdays so close to Christmas. Seriously considering giving DS a half birthday on 25/6, though that's right on this babies due date!

Congratulations to your sister toothpaste, let's hope you get your bfp soon too, you cab share your pg journey with her then. I think it'd be nice to have someone due around the same time that you could do all the shopping and chatting to.

Utopian do glad you've got your ovulation! Get dtd!

Welcome to the newbies.

lelly78 · 26/10/2013 15:15

Ha, I thought I was going to be the "winner" with DS on boxing day but stacks has beaten me. Am also considering a half birthday but dh also pointed out it would be close if I conceive now... Although not sure that is worth worrying about!

Thanks for the welcome gang can't believe this thread had only been going since sept. I Def don't have time to read it but if anyone cares to let me know the age of their current DS or DD then would be very interesting Grin

IBelieveInEngels · 26/10/2013 15:28

My DS has justed turned 2 lelly. I'm 32 and live in the Netherlands.

I must say I'm getting confused by the thread now because I can't remember who is pg, who is on 2ww, how long everyone's been trying...

I know I said give me a clip round the ear if I turned up too soon but it's nearly evening here Grin (well, 4.30 anyway!).

HungryHorace · 26/10/2013 15:34

My DD is 4 months old. I'm on the 2ww of my 2nd cycle of TTC. I'll be 37 very soon (hence the indecent haste after DD to TTC).

Pregnant people are: Windy, Pencils, Donna, Stacks and Mrs.

And 4.30 is very nearly evening! :-)

Kt1991 · 26/10/2013 16:00

My DS will be 3 in Feb, I'm 22. This is our 3rd cycle, AF is due next week so really hoping she won't show her face! It was this cycle we conceived DS. Also don't want too much more of an age gap either!
