Pip my clinic said the same. No strenuous activity for the next two Weeks & just to take it easy

WannabeMaryPoppins · 26/08/2013 15:25

I will do my very best nobeer but no promises! How are you today?

WannabeMaryPoppins · 26/08/2013 15:30

Ps can only watch UK TV via you tube. Any recommendations for series or shows to help pass the time?

nobeer · 26/08/2013 15:46

Fine thanks MaryPops, apart from an annoying headache. You need to get yourself a VPN then you can watch iplayer etc. Ideal for the 2ww!

WannabeMaryPoppins · 26/08/2013 16:05

I've been meaning to look into that for a while now & it looks like I've finally got the time to do it!

eurochick · 26/08/2013 17:18

pip the embryo hatch around day 6 and try to implant from that point until, so that could be implantation bleeding. That's the same whether the first few days are in you or in the lab. As stars said though, they keep burrowing in for a while . I had a bit of bleeding on my first cycle at 15dpec- a few days after I had had a positive test.

There is a whole big thread on sex/orgasms in the 2ww on fertility friends. Some clinics don't advise either way (including mine). Some say to avoid. There doesn't seem to be much on the way of consensus either way. As I mentioned on the last thread, there is an immune theory that having the father's swimmers in there at implantation time is a good thing.

I was just told no hot stuff (saunas, hot baths), no swimming in the days immediately after (I assume for infection risk), no strenuous exercise by my clinic. Nothing about sexy time.

stars I had forgotten about your temp. I think that could well be the problem. With 5 blasts something should have stuck, so I reckon the fever did for them. What unlucky timing.

Congrats on being PUPO, marypops!

Welcome deelia. I think we are all on various stages of the IVF "journey" on the thread, but as far as I'm concerned the more the merrier.

MotorcycleMama · 26/08/2013 19:34

pip I'm quite sure that orgasms don't have a negative effect on conception or implantation. I'm really glad to hear that I am not the only person who has orgasms while sleeping! It doesn't happen often, but all the same.

nobeer · 26/08/2013 20:14

Pip and motor I'm very jealous/impressed Wink.

OP posts:
Fabuluce · 26/08/2013 20:22

Wow I thought it was only men who had orgasms in their sleep - my husband does all the time - I'm always waking up with him sleep humping me!!

We were advised no sex during the 2ww and if a Bfp then not for the first trimester!

Welcome Deelia - you've come to the right place for headfuckery!

tametortie · 26/08/2013 22:02

Evening all Smile

Just got into bed after a very busy weekend. Had a gorgeous time but am very tired so its a quickie from me and then ill be back properly tomorrow.

Sorry to miss cupcake and stars the treatment journey is longer and harder for some than others and its hard and sad Sad stick with us and keep talking, get support. Lots of love xxxx

pram im not rich!! Im very posh though Wink

There is a big section on orgasms on FF. Some say its actually good because it increases blood flow. I also orgasm in my sleep so hoping it has no effect at all!!

Night xxxxx

BrookerC · 26/08/2013 22:14

Evening all!
Blimey I appear to have missed a very interesting discussion on orgasms while sleeping ! There are some lucky ladies in here! Envy
Sexgate update: my clinic advises 'sexual intercourse can continue as normal' during the 2ww. It's really interesting & bloody confusing how different the advice can be Confused
euro I am the same. If I can get past that first wee that's me done until the next day. Good luck for tomorrow. Keeping everything crossed for you
maryp well done on being PUPO. Let the headfuck begin!
Welcome deelia Smile I don't know much about iui-will you be taking fertility drugs as part of the cycle?
nobeer hope that headache has buggered right off! How are you doing otherwise?
fabbie I imagined eating that dinner yesterday & t'was well lush!
twinks it's good to hear from you. How are you feeling about the review? Do you feel ready for it?
Glad you've had a fab weekend Derek Grin

Afm still no sign of af. I know I'm only 1 day late but:

  1. I am usually sooo regular-28 days on the nose (I have only had one cycle differing during the whole of the ivf shenanigans, at 25 days')
  2. I expect to be in control of something in my life and now my body is making a mockery out of that too! FFs it's gonna have to be sex to bring it on isn't it?
talulahbelle · 26/08/2013 22:23

So it begins.
I used to be delilah belle (no space) for those of you that might remember me (or fancy stalking me... Grin ), but fancied a name change as I think one of my RL friends might know who I am, and I am keeping this cycle on the down-low.
Contacted the clinic, I have to let them know when my next period begins (due about 6/7th September) and I'll be having a FET the cycle after that. I also have an appointment with my GP on the 4th September to give him a heads up and make sure he's happy to write me a few private presciptions. He was before so hopefully it won't be a problem.
Transfer should hopefully be sometime mid October.

Current plan is a September of healthy eating, gym as much as I can, and positive thinking. We have 2 top grade frozen embies, and I hope to transfer one.

Looking forward to getting to know you all :)

eurochick · 26/08/2013 22:31

Hi delilah. I remember you (I was probably euro-something else back in Jan though). How are you doing now?

deeliasmythe · 26/08/2013 22:31

In the interests of getting to know each other I'm in the no sleep orgasm camp. Sounds fun though.

I'm waiting for af but I think the plan is:
Dye test of the tubes
If I pass that then gotta inject myself with the one that isn't clomid to get follicles going. About 3 scans are needed and if they've not over stimulated me, dh pops one into a cup, they remove the ones that are swimming backwards etc and very gently, ram the rest up my lady bits.

Is the injecting yourself bit hard? Im most scared about that bit.

Fabuluce - bring on the head fuckery! Can't be any more of a muddle than my brain at the mo.

I don't have any uk tv recommendations but I have a netflix account and watch all the US series on there. Oh actually I do watch British bake off and celebrity masterchef.

eurochick · 26/08/2013 22:36

deelia the first injection is a bit odd - you have spent however many years avoiding sticking sharp objects into you and then you have to do it. Once you are over the first one, it gets a lot easier. I recommend taking a deep breath and just going for it. Other people get their partners to do it for them.

BrookerC · 26/08/2013 22:45

Hi belle & welcome back Smile Can we have a brief history of your ttc journey for all us newer folks nosey buggers Looking forward to following your journey.
deelia the first one is the worst by far. I passed out at my nurse training session Blush back in April but now I'm as good as the bestest scag hag! We will be with you all the way so try not to worry too much.

deeliasmythe · 26/08/2013 22:50

It's freaking me out just reading your answers. So pathetic! I can't decide if it's worse if I or dh did it. I wish I knew a nurse.

nobeer · 26/08/2013 23:14

deelia it's not so bad, honest. The first one is scary and I made my DP sit with me on skype (he was working away) and I didn't want to do it on my own. But honestly, you do get used to it. Psychologically I felt quite positive every time I did it because I felt like I was one step closer to getting pregnant. It wasn't fun, but at least I was doing something about getting pregnant instead of DTD and being gutted at getting AF each month. Don't freak out, we've all been there!

Nice to meet you Tallulah and welcome back. I think I joined here in June or thereabouts so I missed you last time you were here. I've just done FET, waiting for OTD!

OP posts:
nobeer · 26/08/2013 23:16

brooker headache still here. Not sure if that's good or bad re hormones etc, trying not to think about that too much. I've had paracetamol, but I'd really like to knock back a couple of stronger painkillers. But apart from that, I'm ok and not worrying too much about the result as there is absolutely sod all I can do about it.

OP posts:
WannabeMaryPoppins · 27/08/2013 08:41

Morning all
deelia the first fucker is definately the worst. Before I started at all this I couldn't actually look at a needle without freaking out. But you do what you have to do and then I actually felt very proud of myself. You will be absolutely fine.
tallulah I am new to mn so nice to meet you!
nobeer hope that headache is wearing off
tame can't wait to hear about your Weekend
fab have got a top tip for you (and whoever else is interested) about how to get really crunchy crumble. Melt the butter before adding to the flour & sugar. I swear to God it takes you to crumble heaven.

British Bake off and celebrity masterchef are a couple of my favourites too, so let the fun and head fuckery begin!

tametortie · 27/08/2013 08:45

Morning all!!

Is anyone testing today?

I've totally lost track so please forgive me if it appears im not paying attention. I am honest!

Made another big batch of red lentil soup last night. I really love it but after I made it, I noticed the bag of lentils said 'may contain traces of gluten' Sad so have totally fucked up the gluten free already. I thought lentils were a pulse??

Pilates tonight followed by Thai green curry and brown rice Smile my soul food.

Welcome to all the newbies Smile this is a lovely thread but hope you aren't here for too long.

Will be back with personals later- need to read and catch up and stop going on holiday!

Love to all xxxx

tametortie · 27/08/2013 08:49

marypop weekend away was ace- on the east coast at caister. Lovely caravan on the sand dunes, penny arcades, pub lunches, ice creams, bike rides and a caravan destruction rally! Proper British seaside stuff Smile

Congrats on being pupo!! Xxxx

WannabeMaryPoppins · 27/08/2013 09:29

tame that sounds ace. Hope you had plenty of fish & Chips too Smile

Fabuluce · 27/08/2013 09:54

Marypop I am fascinated by your crumble recipe....frustratingly though I am officially on my health kick as of today though so won't be able to try it out until I've lost at least a stone, booo. I've done my Hannah Waterman body blitz work out this morning already though and am finally going to try out a yoga class tonight - I must be the only person in the world who hasn't ever done yoga! Congrats on being pupo and getting signed off too - that's excellent news - time to chillax :) You need to get netflix or something like that and get on to Game of Thrones - fabulous series.

Welcome back Derek ;) Your mini-hol sounds like great fun - lucky cow bag!! I'm not aware of lentils having gluten - that's probably one of those stupid things that has to be said if they were packaged in a factory that also packages other things that contain gluten.... I couldn't let it lie so have done some mini-research and found that it is indeed the case although it should be only tiny amounts but if you are super intolerant and want to be absolutely on the safe side then www.arrowheadmills.com/category/beans apparently are extremely careful with their packaging :)

Welcome back Tallulah - in the nicest possible way I hope you don't have to stay long and that everything is successful with you this time round :)

Brooks - I presume you've POAS'd just to be on the safe side?? Thanks for joining us for dinner Grin

Off to our review meeting in a bit - have prepared by wearing waterproof mascara :/

eurochick · 27/08/2013 10:14

Morning all.

Derek your weekend away sounds lovely. We only had a holiday last month, but both feel like we really need a break, so I'm jealous.

I caved and tested this morning: BFN. I kind of knew. I had loads of really strong symptoms up to Saturday night but nothing for the past 2 days. I think it tried but didn't make it (again).

This one has hit us both pretty hard. We seem to make embryos that get to blast and try to implant but fail to stick. And it was my last chance to be pregnant on my due date from my miscarriage from the first round. Today is not a good day.
