Oh Stars I'm so sorry to hear your news, how devastating for you. Hairstroke.x

I've been having the same problem with the phone app - it's been driving me mad!

Miss and stars - I'm really sorry to hear about bfn :(

Cupcakes - you and your oh sound lovely - your OH reminds me of mine, very supportive.

It's really not fair is it, girls?

I haven't been around for a few days but have been meaning to say this for a while: THANK YOU. Not only for the support that you have given me but for all the wonderful support you all give each other. This thread and all the girls on here (past and present) are bloody fabulous. It's so welcoming and supportive, I wish you were all my friends in real life.

stars I'm so sorry love. I think it's so unfair too. As for labs, I think they do vary, but only because my friend who works in one told me so. I hope you do find the money to try again.

Really sorry to hear that you weren't successful this time stars - so disappointing. I hope you can see forward to trying again and succeeding. X

Good to hear from you twinks. How are you doing? I shouldn't really still be hanging around on this thread, but I do like to keep up with how people are getting on.

It's nice to see you motor, please hang around. We all have a shared experience, no matter what the outcome was.

I'm ok. Have my review appointment next week so will know more then. So not really much to report.

Stars, I am so sorry this hasn't worked for you. I believe the skill of the embryologist is paramount to IVF success but this is only my opinion. Obviously getting the embryos to day five is a huge bonus as they can see which ones are superior and can discount any fragmented ones. None of this matters, of course, if you are skint so I hope you manage to find the means to continue at a different clinic, ideally one which uses the embryoscope and will take your embryos to five days.

Mary, best of luck for a skilled transfer tomorrow. Stay cool.

I totally agree. Thank you everyone for being so kind to me today and just lovely people supporting each of us. It really is so amazing we have such s lovely group.

Pram, thanks for your opinion on lab/embryologist. I think I agree. And if we can find money to cycle again I think I will go back to Hammersmith as I just feel that this might be better though. Not sure if they do embryo scope there though. My consultant at my current clinic poo pooed the embryoscope,, saying its not new and he's worked at places where they've trialled them and they didn't buy them as they found no significant improvements in success. Hard to know what to think? I did go to day 5 with my embies this cycle and last and had 3 put back! But still not one stuck :-(

My clinic have told me to stay on bum bullets for 2 more days and retest as I'm not bleeding. I'm not bloody likely to with 2 of them a day in my system though. I wish they would just change the test day to 16dpi rather than 14dpi as it just prolongs the agony of getting a bfn but having to carry on like you've not tested. Stoopid if you ask me!!!

Hope everyone's having a nice bank holiday Monday? What you all up to?

Shit, Stars, I didn't realise you had gone to day five and had three transferred. What the absolute fuck? How did they choose three wrong 'uns (if it is the fault of the embryologist)? Of course there are other factors to take into account, like implantation issues, but I have no idea what makes some embryos implant and not others. I do think more can be achieved and deduced when an embryoscope is utilised. But I would say that, wouldn't I?

Stars So sorry to hear your news. Just rubbish.

Oh wise IVF ladies I have a question - when regular people get knocked up, egg and sperm meet in the fallopian tube, fertilise, then start dividing, float about a bit and implant about 7 - 10 days later.
With us science-babies lot the egg meets sperm and dividing stuff happens in a lab, so when it is put back it has already had 5 days of floating about. So, does this mean that implantation happens 5 days after ET when the embryo would be at the same point as with regular people or does it still wait for 10 days to be sure it likes it?

What I'm really driving at here is could the tiny tiny bit of spotting I had yesterday (6dp5dt) actually have been implantation?

stars what an absolute bummer. So, so sorry Sad I hope you can get the money together for another go. I think having confidence in your clinic has a huge effect on the outcome. Not only in reducing stress during the cycle but in helping you feel that everything that could be done has been done, even if the outcome is a bfn Flowers
Hi to all you lovely ladies Smile This really is a special group of people x

Pip, implantation can happen from day 5-12. Most common is 7-10. Often people who get implantation bleeding do seem to report it around the time you're saying. The thing is when the embryo implants its not just like a 1 day thing, it attaches and then nuzzles in deeper a bit more over a few days I think. It's difficult to know if its spotting or implantation, but some people seem to report the spotting alongside some funky creamy pinky discharge! I will be keeping everything crossed its your embie snuggling in :-)

Pram, yeah bloody 3 of em and still a single line. Bahhhh! I like the sound of the embryoscope, it made news recently and sounded good. And if it worked for you :-) I've had immune tests and all was clear and my uterus has had 2 ops to make it less scarred and was apparently nice and lush following this. Also had endo scratch this time to aid implantation. So I just don't know? Old eggs? So many unanswered questions. Last cycle was similar. He was so pleased all the way through but a negative result. I wonder if my high temp this week had any baring?

Urgh!

Hello,

If I've come to the wrong place then do give me the boot, a soft sheepskin boot or something.

I'm waiting to start IUI whenever AF decides to show up.
So it's not ivf, I know. We were given the choice though they said IUI may not work.

I have gone private as with sacrifices I'm lucky to be able to afford it for now. Feeling nervous about it all but I was feeling ok about going in the right direction. And then yesterday a family member announced their happy news. It was awful. They don't know my situation and I just stood there feeling like a failure.

Whilst a couple of friends know, no one I know has been in my situation and therefore I don't feel able to discuss it in detail. So that's where I am.

Enlighten me ladies, is this a problem? Have I fucked it all over?

pip you and I must be on the same page! I've just been googling "FET implantation" and "when can I do a HPT?" Blush.

I've had an awful migrainey type headache since 4am which I often get just before AF or if I haven't eaten enough. I didn't eat much yesterday (horrible lunch then indigestion at dinner time), so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that's what it is.

You're more than welcome here deelia. Most of us are IVFers but we all know how it feels ttc with no success, and I'm sure most of us have been in the same situation as you when someone announces their happy news. I don't know anything about IUI but hopefully one of these lovely ladies do.

Pip there's been no action here - but the crinone gel doesn't make a particularly pleasant lubricant! Try not to worry too much, I'm sure plenty of babies have been conceived by orgasming mothers.

Pip, after a day five transfer the embryo takes only 48-72 hours to implant - no longer. HcG will then appear in the urine approx three days after that. Most women will have a definite result, therefore, at 7dp5dt. Remember Buzzy? She got her BFP at 6dp5dt. You really shouldn't orgasm during the 2ww, didn't your clinic warn yo? Some research says that the strong vibrations of the cervix and uterus can affect implantation.

Welcome, Deelia. Can you tell us more about yourself and your ttc history and criminal record? What percentage success rate has your clinic given you for IUI and will you consider IVF?

We were told not to have sex, but no sex and no orgasms are not the same thing.
Anyway, I often have them in my sleep, so I couldn't avoid that even if I wanted to.

As Nobeer says I can't believe that no baby has been conceived by a woman who had an orgasm during the TWW. I imagine it can't help, but I've decided to believe that it won't make a difference.

Thanks.

I've had to deal with several announcements but this one stung more due to the timing and that it will be their second. Her af is late because she is pg. Mine is late because I have pcos. Brill bags.

We can choose ivf or iui. They said dh's sa was just about ok for iui. She said about 20% success.

Been ttc for a year. I know it's not as long as many others. To me it feels longer as I had wanted to start ttc 2 years ago but various reasons meant that could not be.

No run ins with the law but I could tell you about the near misses - once after a concert I needed a wee so bad so went down an empty side road and squatted next to a car. That had some one in it.

Pip according to my clinic these are the dos and don'ts (mostly don'ts) after leaving the clinic following ET:

Don't do any exercise which involves a lot of movement (jumps, aerobics, gym) or lift any heavy weights.
Avoid situations which can cause an increase in body temperature or dehydration (intense exercise, sauna, jacuzzi, sunbathing).
Don't drink alcohol or take unprescribed medications without consulting a doctor.
You can return to your normal activities with regard to work and sexual relations, bearing in mind the points above.

So we took that to mean that we could have sex as long as we weren't jumping, drinking rum and knocking back sudafed or in a sauna. But we haven't DTD since before FET Sad. On the bright side if we get a BFN next weekend could be interesting Grin.
