cups I'm sending you and your DH a hug. You sound like a great team and you'll get there eventually. Does your NHS clinic offer any counselling services? It might help with the panicking.

pip I think a teaspoon of bicarb in a class of water helps cystitis. Tastes revolting, but helps clear it up.

Good morning everyone. Don't check the Chat for a couple of days and have to go on a search Party [Party]

WannabeMaryPoppins · 25/08/2013 10:22

Shit that was meant to be a Smiley Smile really should preview my Messages before posting

BrookerC · 25/08/2013 10:23

pip no experience after ET but what makes you think you have cystitis?
cups Sending you a huge hug lovely x. This whole process can be so cruel. Have you looked into switching your Nhs funding to a private clinic?
Your clinic sounds very different to mine at my age (40) I couldn't afford to wait 6 months' between cycles.
fab that's so great that your review is next week. I had to wait 6 weeks' (Our consultant was on holiday for 3 so we could have gone in sooner & seen someone else but I wanted ours as he's the head guy) Have you had any thoughts about questions fir the review? I got a lot of help from reading Agates very lengthy posts on FF. I know how raw you must be feeling at the mo. It's tough at our age as we have to jump straight back on board if we're continuing-although after my last cycle was abandoned I was told another month or two is not going to affect the outcome significantly. My attitude however was slightly more LETS GET ON WITH IT SHALL WE?, but I hadn't just had the trauma of a bfn. You will get stronger by the day-promise x
beetle how are you doing lovely?
motor hello

Morning stars
llw it's very normal to be overwhelmed by the whole ivf process at the beginning. Lets be right, no-one imagined they'd be here, stabbing themselves & shoving pessaries up their foo foo or back passage to get a bay bee! We just want to have sechs & pop a little one out -like everyone else seems able to do Hmm
nobeer how's the 2ww today lovely?

BrookerC · 25/08/2013 10:27

ha! Morning maryp My spelling is absymole at the mo Grin Grin

WannabeMaryPoppins · 25/08/2013 10:43

Can't believe how much has happened in the last couple of days - have literally had to take notes to Keep up!
missm you poor love. God this is a nightmare. So understand about you wanting another Baby, it's the same with us. Am extremely grateful for DS but are desperate for Nr. 2 so I don't think you are ungrateful in the slightest. I don't hear other Mums who have conceived naturally saying the same Thing and without ivf you wouldn't think twice. And thats the problem with IVF. You are confronted with questions that you wouldn't normally ask and that aren't normally relevant. Hope that this is just one more step towards getting there . x
brookerC I'm assuming you didn't throw your phone? Wink What a fucker of a day
fab Can't believe you even went out. You are one strong and brave Lady!
choc great Hearing from you. DE sounds really positive and hope Thurs goes well
llw Good luck today. You can join Fab's Club
Cups 6 months is a Long time but I am all for letting you hair done and drinking as much wine as you possibly can before jumping back on the Train believe me I could kill for a glass of wine and it isn't even midday

Reading all the Posts made me realise just what amazing women we are. What we go through to get a Baby really is above and beyond the call of duty. Couldn't imagine any man doing that.

AFM just getting excited about ET tomorrow.... the hours are just dragging by

nobeer · 25/08/2013 10:57

brook MUCH better today! I think getting out last night did me the world of good. I've got more things planned this week so that will distract me until Thursday. I'm not going to be tempted by the HPT sitting in the bathroom, oh no. But I might go slightly mad after blood test waiting for the result.

MaryPops Good luck tomorrow!

WannabeMaryPoppins · 25/08/2013 11:04

nobeer also wanted to say to you not to give up hope. With my last round I had all the symptoms you described and was convinced that I was going to get a BFN. Did the test with DH half heartedly on the day before the blood test as didn't want to be on my own when I got the bad News. And it turned out to be a BFP. Don't want to give you false hopes but just wanted to say hang in there. This is one hell of a rollercoaster ride and you just never know which way it's going to go.
Thanks for the good luck wishes.

BrookerC · 25/08/2013 11:12

nobeer that is so great to hear! It's amazing how doing something outside of IVF land can make you feel so much better. It's too easy to get stuck in a bubble but we all do it. Distract, distract, distract. Now, what you having for tea Grin
maryp how exciting! Good luck for tom! Remind me, how many are you having put back & when was EC?

Fabuluce · 25/08/2013 11:44

Roast chicken for Sunday dinner today stuffed with lemon, thyme and rosemary with roasted taters and sweet taters, asparagus, broccoli, leeks, peas and whatever other veg I can find and yorkies of course! Anyone joining us??

BrookerC · 25/08/2013 11:49

Oh yes please! What time? Shall I bring White or Rose?

nobeer · 25/08/2013 11:55

fab count me in too. That sounds amaaaazing!

OP posts:
WannabeMaryPoppins · 25/08/2013 15:53

Fab that sounds immense and I don't even like chicken. We're having veggie Lasagne and apple crumble. Certainly not up to Mrs Fab's Standard but it's absolutely pissing down outside so comfort Food is the way to go here.

My EC was back in 2011 and I'm having one frostie put back tomorrow. Would have liked to have two but the others are not such good Quality and apparently you shouldn't mix and match. So choo choo to everyone and see you tomorrow in the PUPO carriage!

Pipbin · 25/08/2013 18:47

Good luck tomorrow Mary
Nobeer when is your OTD?

Here in Bin Towers the MIL has gone. She is very lovely and it was a great distraction but I'm glad to get the house back to myself.
Cystitis was really bad this morning, I know it's cystitis as I get it all the time. I got some cranberry juice (only Ocean Spray contains a high enough % of actual juice) which might sort it. If not I'll call the clinic on Tuesday and see if I can take the powders.
Only 6 sleeps until OTD.

Fabuluce · 25/08/2013 18:50

Dinner's in an hour ladies - Brooks, bring whatever alcohol you want, I'll drink it!! Marypops - I love lasagne in whatever form it comes (my sister did a really unusual one the other day with green veg and lots of herbs which was delish) and really - can there ever be anything wrong with an crumble?? I love it with lashings of custard :) We have tons of rhubarb growing in the garden so I should probably make one too but what normally happens is that we pig out on the main course and then I'm on the only idiot who will manfully force her way through the crumble as Mr. Fab will wuss out claiming to have meat sweats or something similar. Any wonder that I put on weight??

Good luck tomorrow Marypops :)

Cups I really feel for you and can completely understand that the waiting must be torture especially if you're using a clinic with sub par scores. How depressing for you :( I really think that you are best off using this in between time to spend some time thinking about you and your DH for a couple of months and doing fun things together. Are you able to book any time away maybe? Something to take your mind off IVF and babies. I would love to be able to do that but unfortunately at 41 i feel like time is slipping through my fingers at an inexorable rate.....

I have been a grumpy evil witch today - snapped at my DH for no reason (I really didn't want to paint a bedroom!) and had to apologise for being a twat. Have now had a bath, dinner will be soon and I am resolved to get to a happier place :)

Fabuluce · 25/08/2013 18:51

Pip my sister has a real problem with cystitis and takes cranberry capsules - she reckons those are the only things worth taking. I'll find out what ones they are and get back to you.

Pipbin · 25/08/2013 19:03

Thanks Fab.
I'm sure a past episode of cystitis is what left me with broken tubes. I let it go far to far without treating it and made myself properly ill.

MotorcycleMama · 25/08/2013 19:40

pip I got very bad cystitis which developed into full blown UTI following my first dildocam at the clinic. I worried it was poor hygiene (on their part) but somebody suggested I might be allergic to latex, so at my next visit the nurse used non- latex to cover the probe, and I had no problem. The next visit I forgot to say anything, and they used latex again, and I got cystitis again. After that I have always remembered to ask them not to use latex, and I have had no further problems. Hope this helps.

nobeer · 25/08/2013 19:58

pip OTD is on Thursday - blood test at the clinic. Eeek!

OP posts:
Pipbin · 25/08/2013 22:49

Thanks Mama, I don't think I have a latex allergy though as I use a mooncup and that is latex I think.

If/when I get a BFN on Saturday I am going to have sex and then sit in the bath with a beer.
My clinic has said no baths after ET and no unprotected sex at all during the cycle! So we've not DTD in about 8 weeks now!

starsandmoonandback · 26/08/2013 07:41

Omg! I've not been able to get onto this thread! Every time I tried to log onto this thread it closed the app!!! I was so desperate yday!!! It's taken me until this morning to realise I could get in the old fashioned non app way online!!!

Well it's OTD day and its a BFN for us. Am completely numb. Been here so many times now. I'm not sure what to think or feel. It's just such a deflating feeling after going through all the tx and 2ww. Why does life have to be so unfair to some of us? Nothing more depressing than watching the lonely line appear on the test :-(

Do you think some clinics lab work can be better than others or suit some people better than others? I can't help wishing I'd gone to my old clinic in London as they have got me pregnant twice, even though only one lasted. I just don't know where we can find the money for another cycle but my time is running out :-(

Maryp good luck today

Hope everyone is good. We should all meet for a slap up meal! Lol. All this yummy food talk is making me want a chef to move into my house!

I will update properly from everything I've missed later and look forward to catching up on everyone else :-)

NoMaybeAboutIt · 26/08/2013 08:39

Oh Stars I'm so sorry to hear about the BFN. Tske care of yourself lovely x

chocolocodowninacapulco · 26/08/2013 08:46

Really sorry to hear that stars, take care x

eurochick · 26/08/2013 09:13

I'm really sorry to hear about the BFN stars. I think some labs are better than others, but everyone will make duff embryos from time to time. What are the stats like for the new place?

pip I'm sensitive to latex and can use a mooncup - it's silicone.

Last time I had it, I found a bicarb solution to be very effective at shifting it. Although it did also give me the squits as I overdid it I am also on the case as soon as the burning starts as the first ever time I had it as a teenager (too much enthusiastic teenage bonking) I ended up with a pretty severe kidney infection and as a result spent the whole of my fresher's weeks at uni teetotal. I am sure I missed out on lots of great snogging opportunities as a result.

AFM, I managed to get through my morning wee today without testing (having someone staying in the guest room which is where the tests are helped!). Only one more to go and then I will test. I find if I get through the first wee, I forget about testing for the rest of the day.
