Thanks for adding me to the official list of passengers DisneyDiva87. It feels good being part of a gang for this journey, roadtrips are always more fun with friends Smile

Did the first journey alone..when AF arrived yesterday morning i couldn't help feeling gutted even though it was only our first try, bit ridiculous really given the odds of it all. Had genuinely thought things had felt different and had started to believe we were gonna get lucky..realising now the mind (and maybe the body!) can play tricks.

But this bus looks good to me girls. The sun is shining and i'm sitting comfortably, wishing you all a pleasant journey Smile

theborrower · 08/08/2013 20:09

Just checking in - period has finished, yippee, so might enjoy one wee last glass of wine tonight, then begin Operation BFP tomorrow :-)

Hope everyone is doing fine

Kirstoll · 08/08/2013 20:42

I'm hopping aboard ladies! I've been a lurker for quite some time all over mn (realise this sounds more like stalker than lurker) but am fx for bfp!
AF are all over the shop, some not at all, some 28 days some 32 etc. so my method is dtd every other day (am knackered) and be positive!!

Kirstoll - ttc #2 - cycle 2 - bfp due.......? 5th sep-ish

ItalianWiking84 · 09/08/2013 07:49

I am in my 2ww now, and I hate waiting... Such a control freak...
And I cant even test if and when my AF is late, because my gorgeous friend is coming to see me and staying from the date my AF is due to come and a whole week and cant face also having to test in the same week because I don't know how I will react if positive or negative. So if AF is not coming (which of course I hope its not) then I can first test a week past my AF due date... Or could I test before? Any advice on tests that can show before your AF due date?

Kemie · 09/08/2013 08:12

italian I've heard superdrug are best and can be used 4 days before AF is due, no experience though as I'm still awaiting that allusive BFP!

I've put my amazon order in for a job lot of cheapy OPK tests, also a few HPT tests so I'm stocked up, won't be able to start using the OPKs this month as it'll be too much hassle, so this'll be last month going it alone, clearly I'm hoping I've wasted my money!

WillowsTree · 09/08/2013 08:31

So many people joining the bus, let's make it a lucky month Smile

Italian I admire your willpower, I'm not even in the 2ww and I couldn't resist the urge to POAS when it was in my hand! I am weak, hehe Grin

RaRaZ · 09/08/2013 10:07

Can I join please? TTC no.1 and this will be my 4th month of trying. BFP date 7th Sept (and it bloody well better be!!!!) Grin

ItalianWiking84 · 09/08/2013 10:16

Kemie Thank you, have a SuperDrug close by, so will go down there tomorrow and get some, and then try perhaps the day before or 2 days before my friend is arriving :)

ItalianWiking84 · 09/08/2013 10:18

WillowsTree Don't know if its willpower or more the fact that I am scared if I either have positive or negative, if I can hide it from her, and my BF will be out working these days, so more afraid that in spontaneous behavior would tell her and I don't wanna tell anybody before after the 12 week scan (except my BF of course :))

WillowsTree · 09/08/2013 11:27

Ah ok ItalianWiking84 I get what you're saying now. That's a tough one. If it were me and I got my bfp I'd likely explode with excitement and it would definitely give it away!! Hope the superdrug gives you an early bfp. When are you testing?

ItalianWiking84 · 09/08/2013 11:57

Thats the things, its so tough to decide what to do... My bfp or AF is due the 17th and since coming off the pill, it has been spot on, so I dont know how early I can try testing. My friend is arriving the 17th as well, and I have known her for ages, so if I am over excited she will defn notice it and then ask, and I don't like lying so arg dilemma.....

onelifeonechance · 09/08/2013 13:37

Hope you enjoyed your glass of vino last night the borrower Smile

I've just treated myself by going to have my highlights done. Had a bit of a dilemma last month when i thought BFP might be on the cards about whether I'd get them done or not (and believe me they needed doing!) so have looked on the bright side of AF arriving and taken my chance. Figure i'll look my best next week for all the DTDeeding Wink

Yes the bus is filling up nicely, hello RaRaZ and Kirstoll, i've only just hopped on myself so i'll budge up and make some room Grin

Just out of interest how old is everyone? and what are you all doing about DTD? Can't decide whether to just go for it every day around my fertile time or to do every other day because of what they say about sperm quality..be intrigued to hear what you guys think

ItalianWiking84 · 09/08/2013 14:12

onelifeonechance I am 29, my BF is 28, We are from Indonesia and Denmark/Italy/Luxembourg but currently living in Scotland. We dont really have a specific pattern, because none of us wants to take the fun out of DTD, but I use clearblue and we have then DTD on the day where the smile was and had already done it 2 days before that day. We didn't do it the day after because my BF didn't feel like in the mood for it, but hopefully the swimmers will have done their work on the smile day. I have thought about the smep, but dont know if we might try that out, if we dont successes this month, which I of course hope we do. My BFP or AF is due 17th and never late, but can prob not test before after the 23th because I have a friend coming over to stay with us....

onelifeonechance · 09/08/2013 15:23

ItalianWiking84 - It'll be hard waiting til your friend goes to test...may be it might be a good thing though, being forced to wait i mean...
I somehow managed not to POAS at all last cycle! I came off the pill in February and since then my cycles are fairly short (mostly 23 days, max 26 days). We started ttc in July and although I thought about testing every day during the 2ww I managed to resist and made a deal with myself that i would only test once I had got past day 26 (i.e the longest my cycle has been). Unfortunately AF arrived bright and breezy day 23 so I feel like I've missed out a bit as never got to test! But i know if i tested early and it was negative i would a) be v disappointed and b) not really know whether to believe it (as even when AF arrived in full flow this month I spent the morning trying to convince myself it was just 'spotting' and i might still be preggers!!) Going to try to do the same this month though and wait til AF is late to test as figure it saves money on tests and prevents any more angst trying to second guess results than there already is with this whole process!
So i suppose time will tell. AF will either arrive whilst your friend is around (which i'll be keeping my fingers crossed doesn't happen!) or she won't arrive but by the time your friend has left and you get to test you'll know for sure that it will be an accurate result and you can jump higher for joy Smile

I'm 32 and my DH is 34. We DTD every night last month (only during fertile bit!) and obviously it didn't work but not sure whether to do that again this time round or try every other day..it's so hard to know! I know what you mean about not wanting to take the fun out of it. Problem is if I leave it to when we feel like it we're both so bloomin knackered from our jobs that we might miss the whole fertile period completely!!! lol

onelifeonechance · 09/08/2013 15:25

Also..sorry if this is a daft question but as a newbie on here i'm not sure what smep means? Smile

Kirstoll · 09/08/2013 16:39

onelife no idea on smep? I only just figured out poas Grin I'm 24 and my partner is 29. As for dtd... I have been aiming for every other day but we both got a bit (whisper it) routine and it was much less fun! If I get bfn then at least I will have a better idea of a more regular af! Coming off implanon has set me all a kilter :)

Kirstoll · 09/08/2013 17:49

Alas a quick google showed me smep = sperm meets egg plan..... But apart from lots of sex I don't see the principle is any different! :)

Sparrowlegs248 · 09/08/2013 18:03

I'm excited to be officially on board and on the list. And feel like i'm a bit more 'in the know' about things this month, thanks to MN!!

I am 35 and DH is 37. We will dtd as and when we see fit! Probably 3 - 4 times over the relevant week. I think that is enough planning for us for the time being, only being on cycle 2.

onelife what day do you reckon you ov on a 25/26 day cycle? I have just started getting AF after coming off depo jab. Cycle 1 was 25/26 days. Not sure what cycle 2 will bring although AF was pretty similar.

ItalianWiking84 · 09/08/2013 19:08

Onelifeonechance : yeah it might be better for me just to wait till she leaves and hopefully no af by that time and then I can start jumping of joy... Thanks for cheering for me.. I sure hope this is the month for us :)
Hope for you too, makes sense waiting to the due date or period for af before testing otherwise it can end up expensive and also, for me, with extra disappointment, if it turns out negative

ItalianWiking84 · 09/08/2013 19:16

Onelifeonechance - my cycle is fairly long, I think, it's 31 days so the ovulation stick really have helped me this month to find our when my fertile days actually is... And yes if we only did dtd when we were in the mood we would never get a baby lol but we still try to follow our moods and luckily my bf gets existed about the smile on the ovulation stick so that helps with the dtd, but I am way to sore down there (tmi- sorry) to do it every day

ItalianWiking84 · 09/08/2013 19:21

Kirstoll the idea behind smep should be that dtd every other day will do that the woman all the time have fresh swimmers in her that are ready for the egg
I think some of the others know a lot more in details about it :)

Choccywoccydodah · 09/08/2013 21:01

Hello ladies, can I join in?
I'm lurking at the back at the moment as I finish my packet of pills on the 24th exactly 3 years after last time!!
Conceived our DS in the November on 2nd true cycle, am hoping for a quickie this time too! Although I am bracing myself for a longer wait. Ds will be 2 on Tuesday Shock how quick the time has gone!

I have forgotten absolutely everything about ttc, so you'll have to remind me! Although I've just ordered my folic acid Grin

Choccywoccydodah · 09/08/2013 21:01

Oh, we did every other day last time, totally worked for us!

WillowsTree · 09/08/2013 21:50

Hi everyone, and welcome new passengers! My bf and I just dtd as and when we please at the moment as I've only just stopped contraception so its nice being care free for a while. We have always done it regularly anyway, normally 3 times a week. But there has been an increase since we started ttc. I'm 30 and he is 31.

Enjoying a Wine while I can. Hope everyone has a nice weekend with loads of ttc Smile

WillowsTree · 09/08/2013 22:01

ItalianWiking if you can handle the wait might be better to not test and just see if af shows up while your friend is staying...then as onelife said you won't get any false negatives from testing early. Its so exciting though, in reality I don't think I'd personally be able to wait!
