wispa if you're worried you could always go to the doctor & they could do some tests to reassure you. I went last month (on my 4th cycle of trying) & they did a swab to check my womb (all ok results) then bloods (only had those today so no results yet) & my dh is having a sperm test. I know it was really early to go to the dr but I'm hoping these tests will just reassure us that nothing is wrong & put our minds at rest.

gillywillywoo · 27/08/2013 15:07

Just letting you all know I'll be lurking in this thread until my fertile time and 2ww... Then I'll be back and obsessing with the rest of you Grin

I like to try and take my mind off ttc..... at least until around the time of ovulation else it rules my whole life!

Will be checking to see how you all are and seeing who's getting BFPs though! Smile

Cupcake1985 · 27/08/2013 15:10

I was looking up what pre seed was and came across the sperm meets egg plan (SMEP) which people seem to really like. Seems like a straightforward plan on when to dtd for success. Is anyone following any plans like these or using specific aids like pre seed? Wondering when to start going full throttle. I'm also bit wary of anything going into my body that's not something I've heard on from the docs... Don't want to buy something dodgy or counterproductive Confused x

mama31 · 27/08/2013 15:15

Maybe I'm being too optimistic after having my first real af in 8 yrs (on 12/8)after coming off the pill and expecting to get preggers and to have a normal cycle this month :/ I have my bfp as 7th sept but realistically I have no idea as yet how long my cycle is or is going to be!! Oh well....I will keep on trying anyway and it will happen when the time is right I guess!

Disney I had ewcm (lots of) last month 15 days prior to my af, but this month am guessing that I should have ovulated around sat/sun....but no real signs of cm! Quite confused about that now and if I've even ovulated....only symptoms I've had is a bit of moodiness and feeling easily aggitated and slightly emotional (for no real reason).

Wish I came off the pill months ago.....

onelifeonechance · 27/08/2013 15:17

Disney, I completely agree with you that its actually feeling a bit easier as i'm moving through the process (albeit hands up i'm only on cycle 2!).
I think that first cycle of ttc is so exciting and its all you can think about. As much as I knew the odds were stacked against in terms of conceiving first go you can't help but hope its worked as you've dtd without protection and we've had years of it being rammed into us that if you sneeze on the pill you're at risk of getting preggers (if only it was that easy!) But when af arrives you're crestfallen and then the thoughts start creeping in about why its not worked when you had sex??? Surely that should be enough and does that mean somethings wrong?
But coming on here and reading and chatting to others really does make you see that its all normal. Some are lucky and hit the jackpot straight away, others take a bit longer, and others need more of a helping hand. But one way or another it will be each of our turns and in the meantime we hold each others hands, make each other smile, share our tales of woe so that we can see others understand what we're thinking/feeling, be picked up when we're down, and if needed give each other a reality check when the madness all gets too much.
So what i'm trying to say is thank you ladies, you are all wonderful, and I can't wait to see each and everyone of you write that status that tells us all you've got a BFP, whenever that may be Smile
In the meantime let's get comfy&enjoy the ride, someone crank the tunes up and pass the sweets to the front please, let's get this bus rockin!! Wink

mama31 · 27/08/2013 15:27

HERE HERE onelifeonechance!!!!! What awesome words of wisdom....I hear ya!!!! Let's enjoy the ride indeed ;) hahaha! (Loving the pun)

It will happen when the time is right for us all :)

CoffeeGuzzler · 27/08/2013 15:50

Onelife - you're making me emotional! Thank heavens for the internet handholding.

mama31 · 27/08/2013 15:52

Can't wait til start of sept for the first BFP's!!!!

wispaxmas · 27/08/2013 16:24

I came across SMEP recently, too, and I have to admit it's why I bought the thermometer and opks. I want to follow it for a month and see what it does for us. I think I actually already know when I ov, but I just want to make doubly and triply sure, right?

But I think for the next couple weeks I'm going to bow out of the conversation a bit. I will definitely be keeping an eye out for some early september BFPs, though!

VJONES1985 · 27/08/2013 16:36

Cupcake We were basically following smep this month but I wanna follow it properly this time.

onelifeonechance · 27/08/2013 16:58

Sorry, did get slightly touchy feely a bit there but sometimes you've just got to share the love!!

And mama you helped me last week when it was all getting v stressy and I really am seeing the bigger picture at the moment...remind me of my words if I start getting obsessed again please!

But for now all pile in, GROUP HUG Grin

VJONES1985 · 27/08/2013 17:01

Aww, group hug! (and pass the chocolates and wine...)

jaykay987 · 27/08/2013 17:04

Ooh chocolate. I have an endless appetite today!

DisneyDiva87 · 27/08/2013 17:05

That's exactly what I think too onelife

-feeling emosh-

I'm really hungry now which isn't helping my concentration or my symptom spotting and I'm on my 3rd litre of water today... Not peeing as much as I would have expected for drinking so much so maybe I am just dehydrated

DisneyDiva87 · 27/08/2013 17:06

OP posts:
DisneyDiva87 · 27/08/2013 17:25

Maybe this weekend mummytobe if I don't get my normal AF symptoms or if I drive myself crazy with symptom spotting that I have to in order to bring my sanity levels back to balanced

mrsmummytobe · 27/08/2013 17:31

Ahh so exciting! Fx for you :)

VJONES1985 · 27/08/2013 17:33

I'm hitting the wine tonight after I've had a bath while hubby watches the football. But that's the kind of mood I'm in! Currently doing some work ready for the new year next week.

Can't believe I'm way back at cd1 again! Feels like a good and bad thing!

mama31 · 27/08/2013 17:34

Disney!!! This wkend!!! Wow I will say a wee prayer for you and I see you are relatively calm....that's great! I know I will be getting obsessed in a few days time...need to stop it!!!!!

DisneyDiva87 · 27/08/2013 17:39

Indulge yourself while you still can VJ, once you have that bfp and that baby you won't have the same time to yourself Smile It will get easier.

mama31 and mrsmummy I'm terrified at the thought of POAS in case it is negative but we'll see how I feel come the weekend! I have a big night out on Sunday although I've already said I won't be drinking at it (they do drinking games/forfeits and I don't like to can't drink that much) but will prob POAS Sunday morning anyway just to see, unless AF arrives before then. Fx!

I think I'll have a bath tonight too since the footie is on.
