Im convinced my cramps were ovulation now from beginning of week, app tells me its this week tho so il carry on doing td!!

Been taking folic acid for about three wks, was actually going to ask do you think I should get some iron supplements as im prone to low iron and read somewhere it can stop conception?

DisneyDiva87 · 22/08/2013 15:20

I'm just hit my 'I'm not pregnant this month' moment. I think it's from all the bfp's on the August bus...

Feeling rubbish but on the plus side hubby is stopping his tablets for the foreseeable future so hopefully we'll be able to DTD more next month

OP posts:
Kemie · 22/08/2013 15:29

No idea when I ov'd, dtd saturday and sunday, noticed what I think was ewcm tuesday and dtd again last night (think here was still som ewcm yesterday too) tuesday would have been cd 15 and oh was to tired for any dtd grr... Hopefully I haven't missed it
2ww's now hitting the September bus with a vengance-i'll be on hols with family when AF is due Hmm

ChubbyKitty · 22/08/2013 15:33

I just don't understand how it can not happen if there's no protection and neither partner has any issues?

I'm probably alone and have a limited understanding of the science behind it all, but surely, if there's and egg right there and a whole army of sperm flying towards it...it should work right?

I think that's why I get frustrated with it. All through puberty and that everybody urges you to use condoms and go on the pill and everything and tells you how you can get pregnant from the very first time you have sex and then you fuss about making sure you don't forget you pill and the condom doesn't break.

And then you stop using anything and you just think..wtf, man? No baby. Sad

Needed a little rant about that. Wink

DisneyDiva87 · 22/08/2013 16:18

I know what you mean Chubby

-sigh-

TTC sucks all the time sometimes when it just doesn't result in a BFP. Although I know we aren't DTD'ing enough cause of stupid medication but no more!! Woohoo! (at least for a little while, hopefully long enough for me to get upduffed)

Know exactly what you mean chubby. A friend was ttc from January 2013, nothing wrong with either of them, started ivf drugs last year and took the last ones in December. Due to have ivf in April, they came to us for dinner one night, we finished off quite a few bottles of wine, she did a pg test the next day and she was pg!
Then she felt really bad as she had drank a lot Hmm
Anyway, they came to see us a few weeks back with a scan piccy and it was twins!! We all thought it was the drugs she had been on, but turns out they're identical boys so nothing to do with the drugs!
Just goes to show, it will happen eventually, and then 2 turn up at once!
She's due 30th December, going to be a fab Xmas this year for them Grin

Anyway, back to it. I bought my folic from healthspan online, was about £6 for about 360 tabs.

these are the tests I have, and had last time, test to your hearts content Grin

Choccywoccydodah · 22/08/2013 16:30

January 2011 not 2013!!

WillowsTree · 22/08/2013 17:34

Yay I finally have stats as af FINALLY showed up!

WillowsTree ttc #1 cycle 1 bfp due 20th sept.

Only annoyance is I'm away prob on most fertile days...typical!

CoffeeGuzzler · 22/08/2013 19:01

I am taking pregnacare conception vits. The pack has a nice encouraging picture of a sperm racing towards a healthy looking egg. Grin

Chubby I know exactly what you mean. This month is our first proper ttc, but last month we did it a couple of times without protection...and wonder of wonders ...didn't get preggers. I have learnt a lot about ov and the right days etc. in the one month since then...but the statistical chances of pregnancy in normal circumstances still leaves me baffled. It's a bleeping miracle that there are 7 billion of us.

WillowsTree · 22/08/2013 20:02

Oh feck, totally ballsed that up...

WillowsTree ttc#2 cycle 1 bfp due 21st

Was so excited to actually have an estimated bfp date I pressed the wrong number for ttc# !!

keepswimming1 · 22/08/2013 21:06

chubby I was just saying that to a friend yesterday, I spent 12 years trying not to get pregnant and worrying when I missed a pill etc now 3 months down the line where is my baby bump eh? lol

coco808 · 22/08/2013 21:43

I agree Smile and I just don't understand who are these people, who get pregnant by 'accident' by just doing it the once without condom!!

purple fingers crossed for you, hope it is nothing serious. Do you know what exactly is wrong with the full blood and liver function test? (presuming that's what you had done)

Mistyautumn · 22/08/2013 22:49

His all, just wanted to check in and see how everyone was doing. I am on CD 9 now and started using my OPKs. Had a 65 day cycle last time so have no idea what to expect this time. Fx I ovulate soonish so can stay on the September bus with you all rather than getting booted off to the October one :-( xx

Refoca · 22/08/2013 23:34

Can I climb aboard the September bus? I'm being stubborn and not testing until at least 14th Sept...or if AF gets me this weekend, I'll wait it out until 5 weeks after that so may get two shots at a Sept BFP.

Refoca Ttc#2 cycle#1 BFP (I hope!) Sept 14th

Refoca · 22/08/2013 23:37

Misty - If we could average our cycles, maybe we'd both be happier...I have a long, light 8-9 days every 3 weeks, sometimes spotting in between. Drives me to distraction! Can imagine 65 days is stressful too. Fx for ov soon.

internationallove985 · 22/08/2013 23:40

Hi refoca. Welcome aboard. I'm testing 1st September if A.F doesn't arrrive, she's due 31st. xx

ChubbyKitty · 23/08/2013 01:15

All the women around me bar one are these women! It's mental. Poor DPs getting worn out by the disappointment too, I can tellSad and each new announcement takes its toll on us both.

I don't know why I'm so positive for this month though. I'm already preparing my speech for my dad heh.

Ladies I was that person! My little boy is 12 yrs old now and was very much a surprise!!! Also my friend is preggers at the min as she was taking antibiotics which cancelled out her pil....so another little surprise!!

But sure as hell I ttc....well we will see what happens its early days!!!

Off on my hols for a long wkend with hubby today....and it just happens to be my ovulation wkend also!! :) :) :) have a great wkend everyone!!! I will be officially walking like john wayne next week!! Haha!!!!!

flame40s · 23/08/2013 08:55

Finally got a smiley face on my ovulation stick at day 12 ...Yay! Its funny but at my age it was a nice confirmation for me that its all working. Tested on Wednesday evening so have been dtd 3 times since then. Problem is hubby feels under pressure to perform so no sperm in sight so far!!!! Will try again tonight as we need that missing ingredient right?

Anyone else having the same issue with their oh or is it just me?

Kemie · 23/08/2013 09:17

flame I have cancelled my order for the cheapy opk's as oh didn't want the extra pressure! There have been months when the ingredients have been missing also! This month has been much better, I think more relaxed, I let him know when it's just for fun when not near that "time of the month" as he calls it, not that he believes me though, I get a lot of "you just want a baby".... It can be hard, but it's getting better. I think a lot of us are in the same boat, which it's why coming on here's so reassuring.

DisneyDiva87 · 23/08/2013 09:34

Yup I hear you ladies!

I don't tell hubby that I'm doing the opk's so he doesn't feel the pressure, we've had issues with this as well.

Hubby keeps saying how I wasn't interested in him before and all I want is a baby but he won't listen to the fact that my sex drive was suppressed from the pill. Will have to make it up to him now he is off his tablets.

OP posts:
Kemie · 23/08/2013 09:41

Hi Disney doing them in secret's not on the agenda, he just thinks it's decietful and wants to be able to talk about it (but with no pressure) his argument is that people have been getting pregnant for centuries before using 'technology' so why should we be any different, he's got a point but it is frustrating. He's also convinced himself he's firing blanks which is just plain annoying Hmm

onelifeonechance · 23/08/2013 10:52

It is so reassuring to read your posts ladies about the impact ttc has on our OHs. I thought it might just be us but think my DH felt so much pressure last week when i think i was ov that the 'ingredients' as you so politely put it Kemie Wink weren't there. Our prob is we were perfectly in tune and happy with our sex life before deciding to ttc but that mostly consisted of great fun at weekends! But now i know all about timings etc. i've been telling him when we need to get cracking and the pressure to 'have' to do it can sometimes seem too much and it's all a bit mechanical or the end result doesn't happen (which i find worse than not even attempting to dtd...)

Not sure what to do about opk's. i'm half way through my 2ww but i'm having a 'it's not worked this month' feeling like you Disney. Thinking of trying them next month as keen to know i'm actually ov but think DH will find it too much. Arggggghhhhh the pressure of it all!!!!!

mama31 · 23/08/2013 11:46

Awh ladies I think the pressure needs to be taken off the men (as easy as that sounds I know it wouldn't be) but I have not been using ovulation tests and hope to avoid using them if at all possible! He is aware of when I'm ovulating but I ensure that we have lots of fun prior to and after ovulation times so that its not all baby related!!

Keeping the spice in the relationship is also a good idea I find! Wee msgs during the day and wearing something nice for him (in the bedroom) as a surprise is also a good way to treat him and will distract him from feeling any pressure as it will be more of a treat ;) give it a try!! :)
