PurpleGeekyGirl · 22/08/2013 11:07

Cd6 is early yes but I normally ov on cd10-11. Am gutted as dp too tired to dtd last night (we did day before) and now I'm convinced we have missed the window this cycle so it's on to the next one boo hoo.

Also got results of my blood tests and liver bone one ?? Is abnormal but I can't speak to gp till next wed so am worried about that now...

Never mind am in car now off to Wales for mountains and camping and the sun is shining so life isn't that bad Wink

DisneyDiva87 · 22/08/2013 11:08

Fingers crossed mama

Yay long weekend!!

Welcome Vickyvix. Good luck.

I agree mama31...can't wait for September to start and all the bfps to roll in.

So I meant to start using opk from this morning, but in the braindeadness of early morning, went for wee, all about opk forgotten. Instruction leaflet says to definitely use pee after the longest sleep. Eh.

In more encouraging news, got some nice knickers in the post.

DisneyDiva87 · 22/08/2013 11:44

Long weekend!!

Envy

I want a long weekend

Disney I was thinking of buying the cheap ones from Amazon (having spent a fortune over the last few months on obsessive POAS Blush). Which ones have you got? Do you know if they're any good?

DisneyDiva87 · 22/08/2013 12:38

I got the ones that say they supply the NHS (not sure if I believe them) and only used 1 so far and it was bfn so I can't/won't comment on if they are any good, the reviews were pretty mixed for them

OP posts:
DisneyDiva87 · 22/08/2013 12:40

Just realised they don't say they supply the NHS so either I lied, got confused with another load I was looking at or they removed it.

Very excitedly jumping on the bus - have finally persuaded DP that we should be ttc, always seems to be a reason not to! it's our first child together, but I have 2DCs from a previous relationship.
Stats are ttc#3 cycle 1, bfp 25th Sept.

Good luck and oodles of baby dust to everyone

ExactlyWhat · 22/08/2013 12:47

Just thought - should I be taking folic acid / pregnacare vits now? Which ones do you all take? Seems to remember them being quite pricey?

DisneyDiva87 · 22/08/2013 12:49

Yes start with Folic Acid asap so it builds up in your system, I'm not taking any other vitamins but maybe I should?

I've been taking folic acid from Morrisons with a couple of other vitamins as I like their 3 for £5 offer. There's 180 tablets so its a billy bargainGrin

ExactlyWhat · 22/08/2013 12:54

Thanks - will get started on it.
I'm not sure about other vitamins etc tbh

ChubbyKitty · 22/08/2013 13:02

I've got omega 3 capsules and multi vitamin with iron. I love the capsulesBlush I could eat them all day haha!

charleslingus · 22/08/2013 13:16

Watch out for multivits, they Inc vitamin A and it's a no no, even eating liver is not advised when ttc as it's full of it. Google it, as can't remember all the details but it's best to take specific ttc bits as some vits can be v harmful to v early pregnancy!

ExactlyWhat · 22/08/2013 13:22

Thanks , didn't know that about vitamin A, off to google..

Kemie · 22/08/2013 13:42

exactly I have folic acid from good ol' wilko's, cheap and cheerful. I also take B6 which I get in superdrug (with no effect so far!) Can't be doing with the expensive ones, will be different if I actually get my BFP

Have ordered some cheapy OPK's from amazon but they haven't turned up yet, they'll be ready for next month (hopefully I won't need them though!)

ChubbyKitty · 22/08/2013 13:50

Ohhh. PooBlush

These will retire to the back of the cupboard.

DisneyDiva87 · 22/08/2013 13:54

I'm taking a mixture of Tesco and Asda folic acid a friend gave me hers after I'd bought mine so I stuck them all in the one pot.

Folic acid helps the neural tube to develop/grow and prevents spina bifida, but if spina bifida runs in your family (or your partners) you need to take a higher dose and your Dr can prescribe that for you Grin.

Other vits are just a bonus but they aren't essential (unless you have a terrible diet with no vits in it!)

OP posts:
ChubbyKitty · 22/08/2013 13:59

I always wonder why it's such a big pot and there's only about a third taken up by tablets...why not fill it?

theborrower · 22/08/2013 14:21

Well, we managed another session last night, so fingers crossed...!

I think it was ovulation pain (Mittelschmertz - love that word) as it was localised and now it's gone. Woo hoo!

I've been taking pregnacare for a few months now. Read somewhere you should ideally take folic acid for 3 months beforehand, maybe it ensures you have enough the time you conceive.

nettle86 · 22/08/2013 14:47

I ov last Saturday (17th) well that's when I noticed ewcm and dtd weds, thurs, sat and sun but yesterday and today I have had lower abdominal pain and noticed a load of the stuff in my pants (oh god how bodies are disgusting!). AF is due on the 1st Sept so I'm not sure if we dtd too early and i'm actually ov now. Don't have a test- bodies are also very confusing!

VickyVix · 22/08/2013 15:07

I'm taking Pregnacare Conception, figure they have the right stuff in, but the pharmacist told me off for buying them at the same time as high dose Vitamin C, had no idea that is not good to take for TTC - it was quite obvious I was TTC with a basket full of Pregnacare, oodles of OPK kits and a CB digi HPT (don't laugh Blush ). So lay off the high dose vitamin C!
