Please do not see that post as a lack of empathy!! That's not what its meant for....just trying to help with what has helped me....

DisneyDiva87 · 23/08/2013 11:55

I know, I need to make more of an effort in the bedroom to encourage him but sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who makes an effort. I'm noticing he only tends to initiate sex if he has been drinking so he has obviously developed some issues about it but then he does have depression as well which doesn't help.

Argh!

-feeling stressed-

DisneyDiva87 · 23/08/2013 11:56

No worries mama I appreciate the advice now I just need to find some enthusiasm/energy from somewhere

OP posts:
mama31 · 23/08/2013 12:00

Disney I know that must be so tough for you!! But its ok for you to make the effort and initiate if he's finding that tough then he needs a little help....don't stress....just feel good about yourself and slip in to something sexy for him and I am certain he will be up for it....even better if u can surprise him....or msg him and build up to it all day then he will be ready for it!!

Don't let the pressure get to you....try and keep it fun, I know its tough but the more positive you can be the better for you x

ChubbyKitty · 23/08/2013 12:11

Got home from work last night and I was all EW-y, going to assume I'm about to ov. Or I did yesterday. Either way, the swimmers are there and they should mesh nicely like I want them to.

I remember when my mum used to say I wasn't planned or tried for. I'm living proof that it shouldn't be difficult.

Still, we have it better than cats. Once a year Shock

onelifeonechance · 23/08/2013 12:14

Wise words mama31, thank you, know you're right...it's just so hard when you know the time is right and it doesn't happen and then you'll be waiting another month to try again. But determined if AF shows up this time around to heed your advice and try not to focus everything on the fertile time and make the whole month more fun.. that's my homework for this month Smile

And Disney i'm sorry you're feeling stressed with it all, it must be hard if your OH is feeling low and not in the mood...hope him being off his medication will help things and wishing you lots of luck with it all.

So pleased you ladies are here and you understand the thoughts and the rollercoaster of it all...as the BT ad used to say "it's good to talk!" Am i showing my age now? Wink

DisneyDiva87 · 23/08/2013 12:24

I'm having a stress head day sorry guys! I didn't get enough sleep last night cause the dog needed out at 12.30! Can't wait to get home and sleep, maybe I'll try and seduce hubby this afternoon. Our sex life has been dropped by the wayside of late, so need to kick start it again. I'm finding I'm getting more and more prudish Blush about it all though. I used to be fairly adventurous (but nothing hugely so) but now the thought of some of the stuff I did before scares me and grosses me out. I need to pull my stockings socks up and give myself a slap kick up the arse (or maybe hubby should do it...Wink)

OP posts:
mama31 · 23/08/2013 13:53

That's more like it disney!!!! :) and I am certainly not the most adventurous person out there but definately makes a huge difference if I wear something sexy, surprise my hubby and focus on having fun all the time and not just for baby making purposes!! So pull your socks (stockings) up and get to work!!! You will feel great afterwards knowing you are happy, he is happy and if you end up preggers from it....well what a bonus ;) I'm pretty sure men are all the same....pretty fickle when it comes to a lady in her sexy stuff....they can not resist it!!! :)

mama31 · 23/08/2013 14:15

Oh and remember everyone once you have your bundle of joy...fun/sex with your partner/hubby will be like gold dust...so best appreciate it now and make the most of it while you can ;)

snoozysleeper · 23/08/2013 14:16

Great advice mama31 and disney sorry you're feeling stressed but glad you're being proactive about it, best way to be, fx for you both Smile

mama31 · 23/08/2013 14:33

Thanks snoozy! Hope it helps!! Now let's get to work on these BFP's for sept...and make it fun...not a chore ;)

Good luck ladies!!!! I'm off now for my long wkend ;) and have packed some nice lingerie...coz after all I must practice what I preach ;)

No doubt ill be on nxt week obsessing about preg tests!!! Lol

DisneyDiva87 · 23/08/2013 14:50

Enjoy your weekend mama

OP posts:
ChubbyKitty · 23/08/2013 15:37

I might take Disney and mamas advice and wear something lacy tonight and spoil him. He's off today so he's doing tea so it could be like a pretend little date night.

jaykay987 · 23/08/2013 15:56

You're right. But I think DH would have a heart attack if I got dressed up! I do OPK without telling him the results (he knows Im doing it) that way he doesn't feel the pressure. If I dress up - he'd be very suspicious about what time of the month it was! Smile

Choccywoccydodah · 23/08/2013 16:51

Oh no, sorry a few of you are feeling stressed, and your partners are too.
I must admit, when we started ttc for our now ds, my dh said you're not going to do the temp and ov thing are you and you just have to pounce on me at certain times of the month? With that, we just dts every other day at least, and I kept track of my ewcm.
I bought some opk, but I didn't use them as I was pg when they arrived, so obviously we didn't need them.
I'm with mama on this one (good advice there!) no testing here except pg tests.
I've downloaded fertility friend, which is what I used last time, but tbh it's all just a guessing game for me.
I know a lot of people test just to make sure you are actually ovulating though.
My dh said to me yesterday he wishes I'd come off the pill months ago due to my sex drive going up again, but with a 2 year old coming into our room at 1am to sleep on the futon does not make for glorious morning sex! We're grabbing time whenever we can, even if it's just a quickie Wink

Choccywoccydodah · 23/08/2013 16:53

And have a great weekend mama!

bushprincess · 23/08/2013 17:23

Could I hop on the bus too please?!!

TTC#1, cycle 2, BFP due 1st sept (but going to desperately try to hold out until the 4th to test incase its a sneaky 28 day'er!)

Good Luck everyone and looking forward to hearing about all the BFP's in September!

Kemie · 23/08/2013 17:42

Good advice mama we've been a lot more relaxed this month and managed every over day regardless, I look at mydays app but still just guess work, have ordered some fancy pants (etc) so shall get them on over the weekend... Onwards and upwards, just trying not to obsess too much (although in 2ww now at a guess so that'll be a tad harder) hope everyone enjoys the bank hol weekend, that's an extra morning lie in for fun times Smile

leezl · 23/08/2013 19:29

Hi bush princess and leezl welcome aboard!

Hendricks · 23/08/2013 21:13

Hi to all the new passengers - hope this is the lucky bus for all of us.

flame40s · 23/08/2013 21:48

Thankyou all. Its so nice to hear your honesty about oh pressure and im not the only one. This forum is great your support is awesome!!

Our sex life has always been great but this is the only area I have not been successful in dominating him on coz its so important. That seems to work other times tho and sex earlier this month has been great! I think I will still test for ov due to my age and not spell out the days to ease the pressure. We can still dtd tonight and for a few more days so who knows. Im only on cycle 2.

Great advice from all of ye... cheers ♥

ChubbyKitty · 23/08/2013 22:30

Erm I think I've broke DPHmm

leezl · 23/08/2013 22:35

How do you guys feel about flying in the first trimester? I've just booked flights to my mum's for the end of September and realised that according to my ovulation calendar I might be either pregnant (FX!) or on AF that very week. NHS Direct website says there's no reason not to fly, but that some women choose not to because there's more risk of MC in the first twelve weeks. Thanks for that confusion Hmm BLAH
