We've almost filled the second thread so here is a new one, so we can carry on chatting! Threads #1 and #2 saw some stunning successes and some sad outcomes. We'll have more of the former and less of the latter on thread #3 please!

All comers welcome. I found it very useful to be with people going through the same thing when I did my first cycle, so if you would like to join us, please come on in!

mejust sorry if you've already said but I'm interested in what injections you have. Gonal F?

I have been on the injections before (fertility treatment before the IVF stages) and started on 35.7 which, side effect wise, I was fine. They bumped me up to 75 which hit me like a ton of bricks the first hit and I was poorly for about 12 hours then was fine for the next 10 days of injections at 75. Weird heh?

I'm starting on 150 for my IVF cycle so worried about how my body will react. Bearing in mind that if a cold is going round, I typically get full blown flu!

Keep me updated on your side effects :-)

mejust · 24/05/2013 07:58

hi wish im down regging at the moment on buserelin 0.5 a day got palpatations twice yesterday but im hoping they will settle down as they scare the hell out of me but iv been doing alot so maybe im a little worn down aswell i should move onto stimming in a few weeks got scan on the 10th june im also worried how my body will react to all these drugs ,like you i will be staying clear of anyone full of a cold or virus as iv already had 3 this year.
you say you have had injections before how did it go.are you on a short protocol or long? mines long and will stay on buserelin for 5 weeks it feels like such a long time

EuroShaggleton · 24/05/2013 08:21

5? That's just greedy. I have a couple of friends with three and another who is just about to start trying for #3.

buzz I've just consulted dr google, and it seems like 22 is right in the middle of what is expected during the first trimester, and they are giving you a boost with an extra bullet anyway, so try not to worry, lovely.

me and wish I found that the downregging drugs made me feel anxious and twitchy.

wishuponapositive · 24/05/2013 08:21

mejust I'm on a long protocol too. I'm down regging at the mo but with the regular 'contraceptive pill' (microgynon). I'm new to all this so don't know much about all the different ways they do it. I didn't realise the also used injections to do the same!

I'm on the pill for 15 days so will stop on the 31st the. Start stims on the 4th June. It seems so far away doesn't it. I just want to start!!

wishuponapositive · 24/05/2013 08:23

Sorry if I sound a bit duh :-)

NookNook · 24/05/2013 10:15

Lovely to hear from youBuzzy!

Wish and mejust I've definitely been feeling dizzy and lightheaded the lasr couple of days. No palpitations and not moody (yet!)

JuicyPear · 24/05/2013 11:24

Buzzy, I'm so, so relieved to hear your beta levels are good. I don't wish to scare you (and I know I won't because they've increased your bullets and you're fine) but when I was offered Clomid I asked them why I needed it. They said because my day 21 progesterone level was 19. I said so what? I know I'm ovulating from my charts and he said you may well be ovulating but that progesterone level will not sustain a pregnancy. It had to be 25. So I'm really relieved to hear they've upped it - you're going to be absolutely fine, love x

I'm having a nightmarish couple of days: the clinic have pointed out that my vacuous dick of a nurse has omitted to test th'usband for anti-HBc total, without which "it is not possible to use the embryo monitoring because of the strict conditions which are to ensure non-infectious environment for all the embryos" Shock The earliest they can fit him in for a further test is Thursday, so I reminded them it is not our fault that the nurse should have stuck to hairdressing. She then pointed out I was getting all these tests for free and I basically should shut my fucking gob. So, Dear Reader...I did Grin

I am also considering walking into the river loaded down with bricks thanks to my bank....but that's another story.

Sorry to whinge & whine but I have no-one else to talk to who actually gives a shit thanks to a husband who believes I have hired fairies to carry out all the IVF dirty work from start to finish.

And in further news: The accommodation is still not booked Hmm

twinklestar2 · 24/05/2013 14:43

Ah juicy, you're not whining, it's ok. You're so great to everyone on this thread, we don't mind if you offload!

Good news buzzy x

Me and OH are having a bit of a blowout this week then back to healthy living from Monday. Anyone got any tips how we can maximise success from IVF? Is there anything we should/shouldn't be eating? I think I need to reread the Zita book.

mejust · 24/05/2013 15:34

hello well i had a mini break down this morning at the first hurdle my injection went wrong and fluid was coming down my leg im sure some went in i rang the clinic and they said take another dose well that was it i was in tears i didnt want to do it so in the end i took a half dose instead that took me an hour to do.my god how am i gonna cope when all the rest starts ,maybe its the drugs or the fact we put ourselves through this.
nook hi i hope you dont feel to bad i havent been moody either but a bit down x

wishi dont know all the protocols either im just doing as the clinic tell me

juicy hi im sorry to hear you have had a horrid day and your not moaning dont worry i hope your ok

buzzybee123 · 24/05/2013 15:34

mejust and wish the side affects can be crap speaking as adrug crazed lady I keep telling myself that it is just for a short time and the outcome will be worth it, then there are days when I just want to stop

euro thanks for being my voice of reason when i'm running round like a headless chicken, I did look up on several sites and 22 is roghlt the middle, and last time I was 34 and still spotted the first week. i'm hoping tomorrows test will show that it has improved

jewcy you pay your taxes so its not really free Hmm could they not do the tests there, Barry had a blood test for something, neither of us know what, the problem with different medical professionals is that they all have differing views, my progesterone should hopefully climb, they worry more when you have low hcg and estrogen levels along with low progesterone, I just worry that it won't get better with 3 arse bullets a day,
tell th'husband he needs to book soon as summer is expensive, what day do you fly out again. how are your ff going

i'm having my intralipid, Gerry the nurse has reassued me a bit, i've tried doing some work but not easy when you are hooked up, blood pressure is a bit low, looking forward to Barry coming home tonight

JuicyPear · 24/05/2013 15:57

Please forgive my muffled voice as I have my head in th'oven Hmm

Aww, mejust, you poor thing [squeezes tightly] Listen: loads and loads of women on these boards fuck up their first injection. If you are really fretting I suggest you go to your GP surgery and ask one of the nurses to give you a free demonstration of how it's done. They won't tell you to fuck off, I promise especially if you begin to weep

Twinks, thanks for saying I'm not a whingeing twat Smile

Buzzy, we fly on the 9th June (two weeks this Sunday) and th'usband has waited until today as it's his payday Hmm Good point about the taxes, I always forget that minor point Hmm I think you should accept, Buzzy, that with two miscarriages behind you, you are going to fret about this pregnancy. Don't listen to the unhelpful thoughts: they are not fact. The facts are in the beta levels and you are going to be fine. YOU'RE GONNA BE A MUMMY!! [GRIN]

There are a couple of FF girls cycling a week ahead of me so nowt to report from the forum.

JuicyPear · 24/05/2013 15:58

It seems I had a Grin fail Hmm

JuicyPear · 24/05/2013 16:05

Twink, there is nothing any of us can do to improve egg quality but protein is mega important in the run-up to IVF. Lots of zinc and selenium and Co-enqyme Q10 for your DH's sperm. You may wish to consider royal jelly, omega 3 fish oil, vitamin D plus a multi-vit for yourself. Keep the booze to a bare minimum and just eat as well as you can. I personally think organic food is a propaganda stunt and an expensive waste of time. Quit caffeine completely and try to limit your sugar intake unlike me

twinklestar2 · 24/05/2013 16:17

We take pregnacare his and hers, do you think that's enough? Oh also takes pycegenol, supposed to be good for morphology.

Is decaf ok? I drink decaf anyway. Will be giving up booze I think.

buzzybee123 · 24/05/2013 18:51

twinks I drink decaf but try to drink other stuff

mejust sorry I missed your earlier post, is it the drugs you have to mix or a pen you are using, honestly juicy is right about the first injection, I hear it loads on threads, you'll soon be shooting up like a real junkie, its just the stress and pressure of the whole process, juicy is right ask the nurse to show you, they should have offered you that in the first place

juicy take your head out the oven I need to make dinner, our place wanted us to pay up before we went but usually you pay a deposit and the the rest when you are there Hmm

I'm feeling a bit nervous about my blood test tomorrow, I probably won't get the results until Tuesday, the digi hasn't moved up to 3+ yet Hmm

MotorcycleMama · 24/05/2013 19:17

mejust try not to worry too much about the injection and just take the advice of the clinic. My clinic gave me the option of injecting myself daily, or having a 1 off injection administered by the nurse, so maybe that is an option for you if it is causing you stess and upset?
jewcy of course you should come here to moan and vent your frustration - it's what we're here for. Glad you've got the trip logistics more sorted now.
Waves to everybody else. No news from me.

tametortie · 24/05/2013 20:43

Hello all,

buzzy- glad to hear things are settled. You are bound to worry. Fingers crossed for rising hcg xxx

Juicy- your DH sounds like mine!!! Too laid back...

The rollercoaster continues here. Back ache has eased off to non-existent. Have some spotting. And a faintly positive test. Trigger shot was over 2 weeks ago- would it be out my system now? Everything I've seen says 7-14 days. Time will tell.....im in bed with a fanny candle....

buzzybee123 · 24/05/2013 21:05

ooooh tamie trigger will be out of your system, will you test again tomorrow, quietly saying congrats

buzzybee123 · 24/05/2013 21:05

spotting could be implantation, I found that the back ache came and went

tametortie · 24/05/2013 21:15

I think I will test again in the morning, just to make sure.

Spotting is quite light. Mostly watery with just a couple of spots of red blood. No more pain.

The test is faint but its a definite pink line.

Shocked!!! Just hope it clings on....

resipsa · 24/05/2013 21:32

Buzzy don't stress. I reckon that I conceived DD on 1 or 2 May (2010) and by 25 May I was still testing 2-3, not 3 plus. All was fine.

resipsa · 24/05/2013 21:33

Tame you lucky thing. Am well jel as the kids say.

tametortie · 24/05/2013 21:52

I have a horrible feeling this may go tits up. Just had a bit more blood.

At least we 'know' it can happen..and the little fella must have made it to blastie at some point.

may shove another fanny candle up for luck...

buzzybee123 · 24/05/2013 22:07

might be an idea with the fanny candle, we can menkul together

tametortie · 24/05/2013 22:08

Menkul? Is that dirty talk buzzy??!!!
