notsoold - today I am hoping and praying, too, that you can spot with miscarrying... I found a bit of blood when wiping this morning. Only a little bit, and it didn't continue, but I have been feeling really awful all day, crampey and with an increasing backache. Didn't go into work Sad

I never had anything like that during my first pregnancy, so am at loss of what to make of it.

I called the early pregnancy unit at my hospital, they were lovely and calming, told me to take paracetamol and keep an eye on it for about a week Hmm Obviously call back if the bleeding comes back/gets stronger or the backache gets worse.

I've been reading around, it's not uncommon to spot in early pregnancy, a friend of mine had it all the time, but no complications. So I'm trying to stay positive. Sending good vibes your way!

notsoold · 07/12/2012 22:40

Thanks jbrd...so kind of you to share..thinking of you hun...
Hope good news all around actually really!!

hopefulgum · 07/12/2012 23:09

Jbrd and notsoold, so sorry to hear about the spotting. I know how worrying it can be. But so often it is nothing and everything continues on to be fine. I do wish you could get a scan right way to put your mind at ease. Try and rest and let us know how you get on.

mamslatts, it could be that your body is taking its time to ovulate,so I'd keep trying. Do you take your temperature in the morning and check for other signs, like cervical mucus? What about opks to catch the LH surge. You can buy them very cheaply on the net. I guess if AF doesn't come in the next couple of weeks your docotr can prescribe something to bring it on, then possibly prescribe clomid to induce ovulation.

I am going to do a bit of a roll call, can you add your bits of information(cut and paste). If you are a lurker, come on out and add your information.

Hi !!!
Again questions for you all (sorry for being a bore!) and way TMI for which I apologise!!! please help?

I bled yesterday (a NORMAL pad every 4 hours) and last night (a night pad) and up to now ( a pad for 2 hours and still fine). Cramps were the same as during normal period but bleeding is wwaaayyy lighter (for me, anyway). Last night and today should have already been heavier and with clots, but I passed only a small one yesterday in the evening.

Symptoms are all gone (sore boobs and nausea)...
But I trailled Dr google ( I know, I know....) and seems to be those that went through this and had a babba in the end... is it true???

Should I go back to Agnus castus today -as I was told by the holland and barrett people or is there a small hope of a sticky bean?? I am concerned to take it and if by any chance I am still pregnant I will lose it... on the other hand Agnus castus would help to remove any clots and tidy things up (sorry if wrong expression!) and I would not be bleeding for too long....

help???

lotsofcheese · 09/12/2012 11:43

notsoold would you consider doing another pregnancy test? I have heard of women who bleed regularly in pregnancy & go on to have healthy babies.

Bizarrely, I never really bled (only spotted) with both my miscarriages.

So I suppose you never really know. Hopefully your HCG reading tomorrow will provide some answers. Also it's maybe worth a call to EPU to see if they'd scan you tomorrow, depending on how far you are on (many won't see you until 6 weeks at least, unless they suspect an ectopic pregnancy).

Good luck, will be thinking of you. It's such a nerve-wracking time. Take it easy today xx

notsoold · 09/12/2012 12:18

lotsofcheese thanks for your promptly reply. I Thought of the pregnancy test, but was unsure if reading would still show pregnancy ...I am glad that the blood HCG results comes tomorrow and will go for the second blood test (when they tell me the date) as it would provide a clearer idea... the EPU here only sees you after 6 weeks...

I am also sharing this with you all as my dh was quite distraught yesterday when I phoned (he is away- and told him that I started bleeding). I do feel that is very hard for him as if is for a lot of men. In his case he feels that it is a race against time as he is now 53... so everybody is racing here...

I am updating my details...

Morning. Notsoold I am so sorry to hear about what you're going through. I've been there twice, once good news, the other time not good, both identical patterns of bleeding so really difficult to call. I think it would do no harm to leave off the agnus castus for a day or 2 until you get your hcg readings. Do you have another test in the house? With my chemical pregs/early mcs I got bfns after bleeding at this stage. I think it was only with my later mc that I got a bfp for a few more days after bleeding. Maybe better to wait though?
Sorry I've not been on much - I've not even congratulated miasmum - wonderful news!!! . My computer has died and I'm on dh's old petrol powered one - not even any letters left on the keyboard!!!
One reason I can't wait to get into work on Tuesday! Trolley service again for bistro I'm afraid, though will make up for it with wonderful Christmas feast in a few weeks.
Love to allxxx

Hello all

AF arrived here on saturday sadly, not that I really expected anything else, but still, it meant the end to bit of a dream. I'd had huge pms symptoms the day before which I tried to turn into early PG symptoms, it wasn't very convincing though. All this means I ad a 24 day cycle last month. It's enough for CBFM to be happy, and I don't think there was a short LP, but still, I'm a bit disappointed since last cycle was 28 days.

Anyway, back to the drawing board here. More sex this month (as long as xmas parties don't get in the way), and hopefully I can get a postive OPK to coincide with a CBFM peak day.

Fingers crossed for you notsoold, and for everyone else on 2ww.

Hi everyone, hope things work out for you JBrd and notsoold, it's such a worrying time. Congratulations to Mia'sMum, lovely news. Been a bit quiet this end as I had to have antibiotics during my fertile week which was a bit depressing as it meant another month gone by. Still trying to remain cautiously optimistic for 2013 though.

Morning girls. Thanks for adding your details.

Notsoold, I too have had bleeding in pregnancy. With my first pregnancy I had a bleed around the time (though I didn't keep track in those days) I would normally have AF.I was so convinced I had had AF that I wouldn't believe the doctor when he told me I was pregnant(I went to see him because I felt so tired and kept vommitting!). I wouldn't believe him until I had a blood test. I was very young and didn't go on to have the baby, so I can't say how it might have been, but the pregnancy was still going strong at 7 weeks before I had a termination.

The last miscarriage I had a bleed around 5 weeks and that was after my preg tests were getting lighter, so I expected it and accepted it was a miscarriage. The crazy thing was that I then had symptoms reappear around 6 weeks, so I did another test and it was positive. I went to the doctor and he did a quick scan, and we could see something in there. I was hopeful, but he said it just looked like something left behind.I had a hcg blood test, which was only 110, so I knew I had miscarried, and soon after I bled again. I have probably written about it on the last thread.

It is such a dreadful roller-coaster ride. I hope you can get some answers soon. And I hope for you it is happy news.

Jbrd - how are you getting on?

remnant, sorry about AF. Crank up the CBFM, this could be your month!
woolywomble, sorry you missed your fertile time. Stay optimistic, there's every reason that you can have a baby too.

Nice to hear from you Deige, it's a bloody inconvenience when the computer doesn't work, isn't it?

This week is my second last week at week before the long summer break. I can't wait! It would be perfect timing to start my first trimester, I can lounge around and sleep alot if I want to (do you hear that Universe??I need my BFP this time please). I have taken a day off tomorrow, and Thursday afternoon, so it will be a short, easy week for me. It was a strategic move on my part to take that time off because I am sick of my bully-girl head of department pushing me to do things I don't want to,and actually aren't part of the curriculum. She decided I would do parent afternoon teas with my cooking class, which is a horrible amount of stress, so I circumvented it by having important specialist appointments Xmas Wink on those days. I should have just told her to piss off, but it isn't worth the drama. This way I get some extra time at homeXmas Grinto catch up on some housework. We have been doing so many Christmas parties lately I have let things slip substantially at home.

I hope everyone else is okay.Xmas Smile

JBrd · 10/12/2012 00:20

Thank you all for your kind thoughts and well wishes, sorry for being quiet over the weekend.

I am feeling much better, and everything is OK (I think) - the spotting stopped already on Friday, but I was still feeling a bit crampey and had a bad backache, the kind I usually get with af, but worse. But it all got better - yesterday, I just had a slight backache, but nothing else, and today I feel completely normal again Smile
So I'm hoping that it all has passed now, that it was something completely normal and nothing to worry about. Apparently, spotting in early pregnancy is very common. I didn't have anything like that with DS, so I freaked a bit.

Got a letter yesterday telling my that my long-waited for appointment with the consultant haematologist to get me clexane (which I'm supposed to be starting asap during my first trimester), and it is - wait wait, ta-daa! - January 17. When I will be exactly 12 weeks. Which, last time I checked, is the last week of my first trimester. What muppets!
Called the number on the letter, but they can't do anything, it all has to come from my GP (who apparently didn't mark my referral as 'urgent'). Poor DH then had to witness my very un-ladylike hissyfit Xmas Angry

However, on a more positive note, got a call from the midwife today who scheduled me in for my booking appointment. Even better, she gave me a contact number to help sort out the appointment with the haematology consultant (she didn't promise that they would be able to do it, but at least it's something!). At least now I feel as if something is happening!

notsooold - how are you feeling? I can understand that your DH must be upset, all this does affect the other half, too. I would hold off with the agnus castus or anything else until you know for sure what's happening.

gum - good to hear you're taking some time out, sometimes it's just not worth the hassle to kick up a fight.

CaliBee - how are you getting on with the 2ww?

Sorry for not more name checking, I need to go to bed!

hopefulgum · 10/12/2012 02:51

Jbrd, I am so glad everything is alright. I cannot believe that you can't see someone sooner re: the clexane.Surely it is important enough to get you an earlier appointment? Isn't it a possibility that your condition could cause a miscarriage? Surely that would require them to get you an appointment asap?

CaliBee · 10/12/2012 07:56

jbrd I'm pretty sure your gp could arrange to talk to your consultant . They both have a duty of care towards you and, under the consultants advice your GP could make the prescription. Clexane is available through general pharmaceutical wholesalers and so could be written on an FP10 prescription (thats the green pad your GP would use) and ordered in at a community chemist. Or even better the GP could request that your consultant see you immediately and prescribe it himself.....afterall the ramifications of any problems occuring through their lack of care are monstrous. I think its a case of being insistent here sweet.
Thankyou for remembering me during 2ww....its soooo damn tedious lol. For some daft reason...at 10dpo... I did a test last night (I think it was boredom actually lol ). BFN, but then thats hardly surprising...but I'm so used to seeing them that its a little like water off a ducks back now!!
Oh....and I HATE BLOODY MONDAYS...Friday seems like a marathon away. I'm looking forward to xmas just for the break. Feeling envious of hopeful and that long "summer" break. I'm about to scrape and chip the ice off my windscreen lol.

Isabeller · 10/12/2012 09:09

Hello fellow roller coaster passengers.

The next step on our journey is for my cycle and our kind egg sharer's cycle to be synchronised by the clinic. I'm also wondering about endometrial scratching which apparently improves the chances of implantation, does anyone know anything about this?

Ever since we knew donor eggs would be needed DP hoped the donor would share some of my physical characteristics. We were stunned and delighted to be offered a match a few weeks ago and when we got over our surprise that she was totally opposite to me in colouring we were keen to go ahead. Sadly she had to postpone treatment so we were put back on the waiting list.

We were then offered a match even more different (which hardly seemed possible) but the nurse said if we carried on waiting she thought there would be a closer match before the end of the year so we decided to do that.

I'm struggling to describe what happened next but the punchline is that on Friday we were matched with someone who comes from the same small country as my one non-UK grandparent...
