Hey ladies -

There are a few of us who are ttc after mc's, however there will be ladies out there who are also ttc for the first time or second or third without success. If anyone is on, considering or had success on a super ovulation programme then do join us. How long did it take ? Did you try IUI with it.. ? Did you have PCOS?

Kicking this off and hoping some of you will join....

By 'date' of course I meant delivery ... I do (now) realise that the 14th was 3 days ago! Brain is tired .. :)

Ah yes breezy, I was indeed thinking of buzzy. Sorry buzzy, I blame 6 hours sleep last night and 5 the night before on my complete and utter failure to remember anything for longer than about 2 minutes. Now what was I saying? :)

Really interesting to hear about your cycle - OE IVF seems to be so different to DE, and the Fragile X info is interesting too. So if you have this, what is to be done? Do they test your embryos for its presence, is that necessary?

suemays · 17/05/2013 14:15

A quick post - has everyone heard about the new ivf technique that care have pioneered? It's supposed to increase success rates by 50%! They take images of the embryo over a few days to determine which ones are viable. Google time-lapse embryo imaging.

Pebbles73 · 17/05/2013 14:20

Abney wishing you the best of luck with the birth and hope all goes well.

I guess it is difficult to sit around with your feet up when you already have a child Ari! Sounds like you are a pin cushion at the mo, you so deserve this too work.

I just went for my blood test on Wednesday to see if the humira had made any difference, Newlife will hopefully get the results next week which will no doubt mean a trip to see Mr S.

Have been reading with interest about this new test with ivf called time lapse embryo imaging which helps to pick the healthiest embryo. They do it at Care so am having a look into it as sounds pretty good.

Breezy the ammount of money these things cost makes it hard to be relaxed!! Wink

ChoccyPud · 17/05/2013 15:09

Thanks breezy. I've decided to shrug my shoulders over the whole thing and be grateful I'm ovulating and have two weeks after ov to af. I'll skip Pred again this month until (if) I get a bfp.

Blimey Ari pin cushion is about right! Fingers crossed at least one emby sticks :)

I think NLC do the photos thing that's been on the news today.

I'm sure there's news I've missed on a quick skim but on phone at work. Sorry for anything I've missed will try to catch up properly later :)

buzzybee123 · 17/05/2013 15:14

ari congrats on being PUPO, are you going to test sooner or wait until OTD

mel sorry about the itching :(

sue the other clinic in Brno called Reprogenesis use that technique which you pay an extra 500 euros for but claim its improves your chances by 10% Confused

choccy sorry about the cycles

pebbles its hard seeing others like that

AFM I was feeling rather despondent the other day, 2ww will be up on Monday but the clinic said not to test until next Thursday 23rd yeah right Hmm anyway I thought I'd try today and I have got a faint line, so we shall see what happens over the next few days

Arianrhod · 17/05/2013 16:01

Yes sue I heard about that on the news this morning. I wonder if anywhere is planning to combine that with the new culture medium developed (can't remember where) which I think if I remember rightly neupogen? in it, to give those embies an even better chance?

choccy sounds like a wise plan ... the less worrying we do, surely the better for our bodies?

breezy nope, OTD it is for me. If it's bad news, I can wait for it :) Hey, your faint line sounds positive, you're not even at two weeks yet! The clinic told you not to test till, what, 18 days past transfer? Why so late? Or have I misunderstood??

Interesting to hear other clinics are using this time-lapse photography already? I thought from what I heard on the news that it was a completely new thing, just pioneered by CARE? I haven't had a chance to read up on it today, though, that's just what I heard on the radio news. Sounds excellent though, anything that helps has got to be good.

Relaxed pebbles? Wassat? I'm waaaaaaaaaay past relaxed, almost in the completely-numb-don't-care-anymore stage! ;)

OP posts:
buzzybee123 · 17/05/2013 17:22

ari Maybe it is a completely new thing for the UK Wink most clinics say that long after ET for some reason, did you have any frosties, so when is OTD for you

Breezyweezy · 17/05/2013 18:21

I was reading on FF today that they also do it at CRM in Regent's Park but they call it EEVA. Sky News this morning said it would reduce the cost of IVF to £750 and my OH's eyes lit up and said why aren't we having that? I had to explain that I believed Sky had got it wrong and that it would cost an additional £750 on top of whatever you were paying for IVF!! If only IVF for £750!! Wink

Here's the link:
www.ivfcliniclondon.com/en/treatments/eeva.html

Breezyweezy · 17/05/2013 18:32

Ari I think if you test positive for the fragile x chromosome then you get referred for genetic counseling. You can still get pg naturally and then would have pre-natal testing like amnio or CVS or if doing IVF you'd have the PGT testing like duggs had. Luckily I came back as not having it so still nothing to explain my very, very low AMH but perfect FSH!

Buzzy tentatively crossing fingers for you!!

It's so exciting on here at the moment with so much happening!

duggs1976 · 17/05/2013 18:45

I know it's been like a huge drought for so long now there are embies kicking about all over!
I finally have my letters etc in order waiting for my next NHS app 12 June. Hopefully to go straight onto being referred thinking my IVF cycle will be end July. Just finished my last gonal F shot and have scan Monday.
Having weekly acupuncture to and my lady says my hormones are imbalanced and I am "cold" inside. Correlates to the low thyroid ish issues. Anyway she is working on that and I've the drugs to take to rebalance thyroid. I just need to sort my diet out now as I could do with shifting a bit of weight. Anyway loving coming on here these days with all this proactivity. GrinGrin

Breezyweezy · 17/05/2013 19:36

duh I have just realised I put PGT testing...meant PGD testing obviously. That'll be the result of my cheeky glass of vino on an empty stomach!! Wink

duggs fingers crossed for a good scan on Monday.

suemays · 19/05/2013 09:06

breezy I think the difference between the two of us is that I am 41 with an amh of 0.57 whereas I think you are a lot younger. My acupuncturist said that they do the short protocol on women over 40 with low amh as they respond better. So I am on dexamethasone from day 21 until af arrives to improve egg quality. Once it does I am then on injectable buserelin to turn off my hormones and then the max amount of stim drugs, 450 menopur. If I don't respond to the stims then ivf won't work for me! I haven't been told about the endo scratch so will ask - what stage do they do it in the treatment?

All of my scans and bloods are locally but collection and transfer are in London if I get that far.

ari and buzzy good luck with the 2ww.

Waves to everyone else!

suemays · 19/05/2013 09:10

duggs have you thought about using a hot water bottle on your stomach? Crazy I know but the 'cold' thing is a big part of Chinese medicine so it might help. Also make sure you have something hot with your lunch and dinner so a jacket spud with a salad etc rather than a solo salad. Might be a load of rubbish but worth trying?

duggs1976 · 19/05/2013 09:36

Thanks Sue! It is worth a try! Best of luck to you. There is no reason to think you won't respond. My friend is going through a cycle at ARGC she is 45!

Mel3062 · 19/05/2013 09:59

Ari just wondered what nk protocol you are on? I think I want to be on the highest one too! X

Mel3062 · 19/05/2013 10:09

Also does mr s approve of resveratrol? Just debating if to get that or start my Wobenzym again??

Arianrhod · 19/05/2013 10:30

Just a very quickie as I'm supposed to be in the shower :)

mel I've been taking resveratrol for ages, it's supposed to help fight NK cells but also good for egg quality. I never bothered to check with Mr S, as it's a herb rather than a medication, and I found early on that Mr S dismisses a lot of herbs that many other immune-specialists agree with.
As for the NK protocol I'm not following Mr S's anymore as Serum have me on a whole different protocol, one which high-dose Pred and hydroxy aren't compatible with.

duggs Other than what your acupuncturist is doing for you with needles/mocsa (not sure how you spell that!) has she suggested any herbs/teas etc that you can take in between sessions to help with your 'cold'? My acupuncturist is forever suggesting things to help - she's got me on nettle tea and kafir at the moment - or will be when I get hold of some!

sue Great to hear your plans .. interesting you're taking dexamethasone for egg quality - it's a steroid, isn't it? I've had to have 3 injections of that 2 days apart after ET - well I did the 2nd yesterday, hurt like heck :(. It's interesting to hear what the different meds can be use for.

buzzy No, they didn't even ask us about frosties as we said right at the start this is our absolute last go, we just cannot do any more. OTD is I think Tues week (28th?) but I'm honestly forgetting about it. I'm just trying to get through every day taking meds and injections right now! And ignoring any body feelings (cramps etc) as they could be absolutely anything, including reactions to the meds. How are you doing??

duggs Best of luck for your scan tomorrow!!

/waves to everyone and sorry about typos, I hate the iPhone keypad!!

OP posts:
buzzybee123 · 19/05/2013 19:37

ari I did a digi yesterday and got 1-2 weeks, I did a test this morning as well, I need a lot of reassuring, I'm going to call my GP tomorrow and see about a blood test, still no symptoms of any sort though Hmm although I did have a bit of indigestion, back pain and the usual cramps

Mel3062 · 19/05/2013 20:48

Oh wow buzzy whispering congrats xx

Arianrhod · 19/05/2013 21:26

Fantastic buzzy, so very pleased, and of course we all understand the need for lots of reassurance! Are you on Pred? If so, remember it can mask all symptoms!

OP posts:
buzzybee123 · 19/05/2013 21:46

well with a 25 year olds eggs I was hoping for some success, yes i'm on Pred and Hydroxy

Arianrhod · 20/05/2013 08:48

lol I know what you mean! Apparently our donor is 23, just turned 24 last week, you have to hope that counts for something!

OP posts:
suemays · 20/05/2013 20:30

Congrats buzzy I hope it works out for you!

BellyD · 21/05/2013 10:57

Ari sorry I haven't been on sooner to wish you loads of luck and positive vibes for your 2ww. Really keeping everything crossed for you, you thoroughly deserve for this to work.

Buzzy whispered congrats to you, it is great news for you (obviously) and those of us starting our cycles.

Sue thanks for all the useful ivf tips.

Duggs how did your scan go yesterday?

Choccy best of luck ttc this month.

I am on day 2 of downregging, and am taking dexamethasone like Sue. No ill effects so far although had slight localised allergic reaction to buserelin injection last night, but I think it was a reaction to the needle rather than the drug. We are having our egg collection at crm so will definitely ask about EEVA. Had a total nightmare sorting out my ivig infusion but too long a story to bore you with, just make sure you google independent nursing services if anyone recommends using them and then make your own decision! Luckily Dr N came to my rescue.
