Hi posy! I'm also very proud of myself for being organised. Ordered 5 nhs type tests online as well as 2 cb digital so as I'm ready!
Now just need to be brave and poas.

Vixjane · 16/08/2012 10:56

hi Posy, thanks for your message.

Fx for you lol - i've got a coupe of cheapie tests left over so am going to use those up before i buy anymore.

First day back in work for me today which does feel strange! Everyone knows i've been off sick but only a couple know why. People keep asking me if i feel ok and i just say 'yes thanks' and leave it at that. I know they mean well but i wish they could just let me get on with it!

think i felt ov pains yesterday but we had friends staying last night so need to dtd tonight to try and catch the eggy! I never tell DH when i'm ov'ing as he feels pressuried then and it doesn't end well!!

Almond301 · 16/08/2012 11:29

Lol my bathroom cabinet looks like a mini version of boots. I literally have 10 pg tests and 60 OPK sticks! So I'm prepared too! Going to poas on 26th if no AF before.

We DTD again last night so feeling a bit more hopeful. Had some cramping over last week but don't know if it's OV pain. We'll keep trying though just in case.

Vix hope work is ok. I was a bit like that and just told everyone I'd had a kidney infection. A few people know but TBH it's almost worse as they try to say things like 'it wasn't meant to be' or 'better luck next time'. Which isn't what you want to hear! I haven't told many of my friends either as I don't really want to have the same with them either. Have you told many friends?

Vixjane · 16/08/2012 12:12

i don't use opks but i find if i have any hpt's in i tend to use them everyday and get a bit obsessed!! I don't feel as guilty if i use the cheapie ones but gonna try and be more relaxed this time!

We've told a couple of friends whats happened but not many. I also skate in a roller derby team so i've had to tell the coaches as i've just started skating again but not doing any contact drills until i feel 100% (lost a bit of confidence with being off my skates for a month!).

I tend to find that i'm generally ok with it now but if people know and they start being nice about it i just get upset again which i don't want to do (especially at work!).

FX crossed for you almond!

suzydelarosa · 16/08/2012 17:43

hi everyone, Hope you don't mind if I join. I've had 2 m/cs over the last 5 months. Preg in April then mc at 6 weeks, then preg again end July and m/c at 5 1/2 weeks. My first m/c was a year before at about 8-9 weeks but I knew things weren't developing as my HP test kept reading '1-2 weeks' of development for weeks!

Am TTC again and hope 3rd time this year will be a charm. For 42 I seem to get pregnant easy but body just doesn't keep the pregnancy. This time I waited for my period which has turned out to be carnage(!) but will be trying again in a few weeks time even though DP is 'sick of doing it'. nice!! :)

suzydelarosa · 16/08/2012 17:44

woops just realized the dates I posted were all wrong - its so hard to keep track but my mc was sometime in April and the next in early or mid July....

Lolcbcb · 16/08/2012 18:16

Hi suzie. Welcome and sorry you find yourself here. Have u had any successful pregnancies yet?
I haven't and am working on it!
Almond my friend at work said the same thing! I've a mini boots being slowly delivered at work!

posypoo · 16/08/2012 18:19

Hi Suzy, welcome! sorry to hear about your miscarriages, that must have been really stressful to miscarry twice in a short space of time. Fingers crossed you'll get to keep one your pregnancy next time! My DH also gets sick of dtd around ovulation time. He pulls a face as though I've suggested visting my mother!

Almond301 · 16/08/2012 18:30

Hi Suzy! Welcome to the gang.

Sorry too to hear about your mc. Sounds like you have been through the mill with it but we are a good bunch here to support you through (if I do say so myself Wink)!

So ladies...question. Only got a few CB digital OPK sticks left. I havent had a smiley face on them yet (been testing for a couple of weeks). Do I use what I have got an then forget about them or order some more? They are expensive bad boys but in someway I quite like the control or testing or at least thinking I will at least I know I will know when I have ovulated! I cant help but feel I have missed my OV this month but who knows. This is the WTF cycle after all!

Posy giving my OH a night off as he was starting to pull that exact same face as yours!! Not to mention the amount of food he is having to consume to 'fuel up'!

Lolcbcb · 16/08/2012 18:56

Hi almond
I've not given it to expensive cb ov sticks yet so can't give u any advice I'm afraid. I can't get my head around them! What does the smile face actually mean? That you are ovulating on that day!?
Maybe stop them if u think u missed it so as not to waste any?

suzydelarosa · 16/08/2012 19:36

Hi thx for the welcome! I'm not so sure about the ov sticks. The time I've used them I've had no luck and the times I haven't.... Pregnant. When I got pregnant with my dd we dtd way before I was to ovulate so maybe it's all about the timing of the sperm.. Maybe some have a short life and others are more prone to hang around. Grin

There is nothing more frustrating than getting pg by mistake, having normal pregnancy then years later when you really want it.... nada! Sods law!

I'll be ovulating over the long wknd so lots of time to try....Wink

posypoo · 17/08/2012 08:45

Hi Almond I don't use OPKs I'm afraid so have no advice, but I did hear that in the first cycle they can be confusing to use because of old pregnancy hormones. I have decided to have a couple of cycles not using them, then buy some if I'm having no luck. I go by ewcm monitoring (nice!), and did notice it this time, despite it being the WTF cycle (it was then that I pounced and got 'the face')

OP posts:
posypoo · 17/08/2012 08:48

PS, having thought about it though, I reckon if you've had no smiley face yet then you can't have ovulated yet - I would have thought it would be more likely to give a smiley face reading that isn't true, than a not smiley face that isn't true! (but that is only a supposition - like I say I haven't used them)

Fwiw, I from my cm I ovulated at least 5 days after I was expecting I might, based on start of mc.

PedanticPanda · 17/08/2012 09:01

Hi everyone, I mc two days ago, had the scan confirming it all yesterday. We were only ttc for 5 months, but mc last year too. Dp wants to try again straight away, I'm not sure if I can deal with the waiting again, every month hoping you don't get AF. How do you all cope with the waiting when ttc after a mc?

Vixjane · 17/08/2012 10:25

hi suzy and panda sorry to hear about your mc's, i've found this group of lovely ladies to be wonderful so you'll be well taken care of!

I usually work from cm and and ov pains to pinpoint ovulation (and rough dates as well) and just to try dtd every couple of days during that time.

we'd been ttc since the beginning of the year but we had a couple of months of one us being ill so not much happened then. The one month we're we had loads of social activities and lots of drinks and i didn't watch dates or anything was the month we conceived (beg of July) so sometimes i think the body needs to be relaxed to let it happen.

Panda i think the way i'm dealing with the waiting is by throwing myself into other things as well. I enjoy doing craft stuff so while i've been off work i've got all my stuff out and organised it and planned what i'm going to work on next etc. do you have something else to take your mind off it?

Didn't manage to dtd last night as DH had an upset tummy :( will try again for tonight :) !

suzydelarosa · 17/08/2012 10:40

Quick question --- I've been given a referral to the fertility clinic here in Oxford as I've now had 3 miscarriages... has anyone else had tests at a fertility clinic like this. I have a feeling they will just say that it's age (I had my m/cs at 39, 42 and 42) and luck (or lack thereof).

Would love to know if anyone else has been there and what's involved. I don't want to do IVF I just want a test to know what's up!

Lolcbcb · 17/08/2012 10:45

Suzy I'm sorry u gone through this 3 times. Once is bad enough for me. I don't know about age though. I'm 38 and not been told that.
Panda welcome and sorry. It must all be very raw for you still. I try to take my mind off babies and focus on work. I've enough to worry there!
Vix where are you on your cycle?

kittykatsforever · 17/08/2012 11:00

Hi, can I join, I've been following you for a few weeks anyway after I had a mc in may but after having my second confirmed yesterday feel itd be nice to chat with others who know how it feels,
I have used opk for a long time and always get a + days 17-19 but after mc in may the next wtf cycle was cd23 so alot later then normal I didn't think it would happen by that time but I think it depends on how pg you were when mc and how long your levels take to drop before your body realises it needs to ov again
Suzy I've not had fertility tests but it wont be anything to do with ivf, you don't have a problem getting pregnant and ivf doesn't have a higher success rate, it will be for things like checking your progesterone levels or sticky blood etc
Woody your being very strong holding out on testing

Vixjane · 17/08/2012 11:09

suzy i think it is standard practice to be referred when you experience 3 miscarriages. Don't know what will be involved but fingers crossed you get an answer.

lol i think i'm on CD15/16 based on the CD1 being the day i mc'd.

Vixjane · 17/08/2012 11:31

hi kitty so sorry to hear about your losses. It's def helping me to be be ablo to chat to others who know what you're going through. V x

suzydelarosa · 17/08/2012 12:17

dear kittykats,

That is really dreadful - 2 m/cs in the space of a few months. What's particularly rubbish is you have one and accept it as a fact of life but then the 2nd one you can't help but think - 'again?!!!' Very unfair!

I hope you're doing okay. I got p/g right away after my last m/c so there is definitely hope and hope that two m/cs wont put you off trying again.

Lolcbcb · 17/08/2012 12:28

Welcome here too kitty. We are a Lovely bunch Smile
And we have had a bfp on this thread so it might be the lucky one after mc!

kittykatsforever · 17/08/2012 12:39

Thanks girls
I'm not put off trying again, I really want a sibling for dd but at the same time I'm not in a desperate haze I was following the last mc where I just had to be pregnant right away, I may change as the weeks go on but then it was like nothing I'd ever felt where as right now I just feel the need to step back abit but I think that is because I found this one harder and more mentally draining, your right with accepting one as bad luck but feeling this time why me. I don't deserve this again.....
It's hard, still it's difficult to make head nor tail of this next cycle so part of me thinks lets just see what happens, the last one was the cycle after af, I'm hoping the tests go negatively quickly this time as hcg only 500 odd yesterday

Almond301 · 17/08/2012 13:24

Hi everyone,

A lots happened on here in a morning! Welcome newbies!

Kitkats - so sorry to hear about ur 2 in a row. TBH that is one of my major fears but just try to stay optimistic! What OPKs do u use? I'm new to them and doing CB Digital in morning and Boots own in evening. I'm on CD20 and no luck yet.

Suzy welcome too. So sorry to hear about your losses too. There is another thread similar to this one that had lots of people pings ping through fertility checks. Can't remember the name but have a look and you might find it. I've only had 1 mc so no experience of tests yet.

Panda hope your ok. I felt very confused and emotional just after my mc and now 3 weeks on feel a lot stronger and more positive about TTC. I got to the point where the 2WW was worth enduring for the chance to be pg again!!

Posy/Lol - CD20 and still no LH surge but CM changing and getting watery (tmi) so hoping its just v late and I'm still in for Aug BFP!!!

kittykatsforever · 17/08/2012 18:31

Almond I've used cheep and cb digi, I used to use cheep until I got what I thought was a + then use the digi to confirm saving myself money lol that in mind I always got a + every month on cheepies anyway and it was always right, my cycle after mc was cd23 so I'd keep going, one women told me and this is the only time I've ever heard someone say it but she'd had a few mc and if you counted cd1 as the day you stoped bleeding it always tied in with her normal cycles
