Hi Girls,

Lol - the midwife told me to consider my CD1 to be the heaviest day of bleeding of the miscarriage which was the 29 July for me. So I should be on CD16 today. I have been using the CB ovulation things but no smiley yet. Just hoping it comes in next few days as really want to get a BFP with you all Wink! If it was me I would try my best to hold out for 25th but knowing me I would cave in and get a First Response test a couple of days before! Keep me posted!! Also, I dont live in London (Bristol) but I am from Surrey originally.

Jessie - big fingers crossed for Thursday! I am still plucking up the courage to mention the email idea to OH. OH and I have always been pretty straight laced so not sure what his reaction would be although I like the idea!!

Posy - where are you in your cycle?

Woody - sounds like you had a lovely weekend too. I went home to see my family too and did a lot of similar things (apart from the Olympics). It certainly took my mind off things. We got pg the first time but just doing it x3 a week and didnt really think about it let alone obsess about CD days/OPK but funny how things change when you have had a MC isnt it. I didnt even know about these things until this month!!

Question - do you guys always get the change in discharge (forgotten abbreviation) around ovulation? Keeping an eye out for that now...

Thanks for the answers girls. I think my heavy bleeding started on thu 19th July so I might not be due until 20/21st. Really should not poas. Let's see Blush
I agree how things have completely changed since mc. Some for the best I have to say. Before mc I didn't know MNGrin
I also don't want to get too obsessed and will not involve DH in ttc conversation. He will not get it and I will end up putting him off DTD altogether.
So we have a few poas soon! Let's keep fx!

Hello ladies! Jessie I am loving your email idea - I missed that when you first wrote it. Seriously considering suggesting it to DH but he is so rubbish at things like that - could be quite funny though!

I agree Lol that mc has had a hidden silver lining - it is lovely to have 'met' all you other mums who have been through the same thing for example!

Woody I am SO jealous that you saw the diving! I was watching it on the TV, must have been fabulous to have been there.

Almond I used to live in Bristol! I am on CD27 but only 8dpo. I am definitely not testing until at least the weekend, because last time I didn't get a line til CD13, and even then it was very very very faint, as Woody will vouch for ;) So I think I'm a late liner! Which is quite good to know as I now have no desire to test early and get a rubbishly uncertain BFN. Would rather wait and get a definite one so I can stop thinking about it.

Woody I know what you mean about pressure on DH. We dtd on Sunday afternoon while LO was napping and it was lovely - spontaneous, fun, relaxing. Whereas when you're busy totting up CDs and thinking about ewcm it's not such a turn on, and the men can probably sense that too.

My strategy is to not use OPKs and just to try and dtd on about day 11, day 13 and day 15, or whenever I see ewcm, which for my cycle is usually around then. I then usually give up 'trying', and then we just do it when we feel like it. It's a rough version of the smep, without having to think about it too much or enlist DH in too much scheduling!

ps ... didn't get a line til 13dpo, not CD13 - sorry, confusing myself with all these acronyms!

Yes posy I am also going to avoid OPKs for a while.

Have had some brown discharge today - not sure if it's start of af but it's only there when I wipe. Will have to wait and see...

I was thinking of giving up the OPKs too as I don't seem to be having much luck with them (but that could be the WTF cycle as I only started after the mc). But asked my OH last night how he felt about me discussing OV days with him and he said he wanted to know so we could target our efforts. He's an engineer so likes targets and practical things! So despite me feeling depressed with every passing day that there is no surge I will perservere!

We DTD last night and it was much better (more relaxed) but still no end product as OH had a hypo!!! He's diabetic and forgot to sugar load beforehand. He's promised to try again tonight so we will see but I'm CD17 now so chances of get pg this month are slim now Sad.

Woody hope it's not the witch!! Angry

Posy where do u live now? We live in Southville if you know it. Small world.

I'm also not very convinced about opk. They seem to be too much of a faff and I worry it will obsess me even more. It's not like I need it! So I will give it a miss for a couple of months and re-access the situation then.
Posy- I'm not a mum yet Sad but I know what u meant!
I'm getting a bit confused with poas plans etc for this thread. Is anyone doing it this week?

posypoo · 14/08/2012 22:56

Ah yes Lol I meant mumsnetters, brain not working this week after I stayed up to watch the olympic ceremony on Sunday then couldn't sleep all night! Still recovering now.

Almond I used to live in Southville! A long time ago though - I'm in Hampshire now but still have friends in Bristol - it's a fab place.

Ladies am so very very pleased to announce the threads first BFP!!!!!

Am shaking as I write this!! After 8 days of getting BFNs on internet cheapies I broke out the CB digital and got a pregnant 1-2 weeks! I had initially predicted ovulation around 18 days ago, so obviously I released the egg later than I thought. This happened when I fell pregnant with DD where my dates didn't quite match the conception dates, and midwife said DHs sperm must be lingerers...

So DH and I had a moment of excitement, and now enter a new phase of worrying!! I started spotting last time around 5.5 weeks so will be knicker checking like crazy. The only difference this time from MC last month is I'm experiencing way more symptoms now (sore boobs, weird taste in mouth, tiredness and nausea) and didn't really have any last time. So hopefully thats a good sign!

Thanks to all of you for all your support, this thread has been such a lifesaver.

Fx for more BFPS!

Oh my god, that's AMAZING Jessie! Woo!!!!! I'm so chuffed for you. And how brilliant that this thread has a bfp already! Just goes to show you were right about your feeling not to wait.

I've only done a digital one once and can still remember how in shock I was when it said 'pregnant' - there is no two ways of interpreting that is there? So pleased for you. xxx

ooo woody early preg symptoms?? fx!!

Almond I definitely think I ov'd later than normal, and I've heard of many others having a longer than normal cycle post mc so your timing might be spot on! I would say keep at it for the next week just to be sure

Jessie what CD do you think ovulated? Fingers crossed for me!

Woody ooo when are you poas??

Vic I feel the same. It's so lovely to have support on her and ask silly questions! At least we're not alone Wink

I felt strong Ov pains starting on CD14 (counting CD1 as the first day of heavy bleeding in the mc, and the day I passed clots). But conception must have occurred more like CD 18 I think.. that would make sense with my dates

I would love this nausea to be an early symptom but not sure if it's too early! I suppose I don't really know when I did ov but I think I'm going to start poas from Saturday. I still think this will be too early but I've got a night out on Sat night and wouldn't want to drink if I am.

Jessie I'm CD 18 so fingers crossed I can still catch that egg!!

Hello Vix, welcome! Sorry to have missed you earlier in the excitement of Jessie's BFP. I am sorry to hear about your mc. Hope you're feeling OK now. We are all in the same boat here, ie going for it again straight away! I do feel more relaxed this time, I have to say.

Oooh Woody am getting excited for you now. I am also testing on Saturday! I have also ordered some HPTs online, so I am prepared in advance, rather than doing my usual chemist dash. How organised is that? Almond I think I ovulated about CD20 this time, as opposed to about day 15ish usually. You might definitely still be in!
