The advice with the CBFM is to dtd every day you have a peak, though every other day will be fine.

Don't forget CBFM is not a guarantee that you will ovulate, it is only a guide that your hormone levels are rising.

(BTW, this is CaveMum under a name change Grin)

http://www.drmalpani.com/book/chapter2d.html Here's another site about conception. It's such a small window to get up duffed...does make you wonder how people manage it by accident!!

NicolaHazel · 01/08/2012 07:25

www.drmalpani.com/book/chapter2d.html Or even here!!

letsdothisthing · 01/08/2012 07:33

Thanks nicola just had a read, really is miricle to get pregnant when you read that :)

I'll be having some interesting toilet trips today, think AF on the way :(

NicolaHazel · 01/08/2012 08:09

Nooo...AF stay away for lets.

It truly is a miracle. I won't feel so bad if it doesn't happen now, hopefully!

Roxyjade · 01/08/2012 08:22

I all, sonif I fit my first leak today and AF due on 11th August , that means my lutheal phase is 10 days (that's if ovulation is today of course) so that means my lutheal phase is 10 days. I no lutheal phase should be 12/24 days. This might be why progestrone is low , does this make sense or am I talking rubbish :-/

MissMedusa · 01/08/2012 09:04

Newbie yeah it sounds like you didn't OV. if I were you I really would get checked out sooner rather than later. How old are you? Your missing AF is pretty strange. I don't think it's normal for it to take so long.

Don't get discouraged though, you never know, OV could be right around the corner but best get these things checked out soon.

LisaC2611 · 01/08/2012 09:11

I agree with missm I had some tests done and had to go see a gynae yesterday and if it's what he thinks it is I will be back to my dr next week demanding fertility checks as they should have found it 3 years ago when I first went about it! Get yourself some tests newbie just for your own peace of mind Smile

Newbie2 · 01/08/2012 09:13

That is really depressing news :( I've moved my doctors appointment to 10th now :( Oh dear maybe I should have kept this Friday.

LoveinNY · 01/08/2012 09:19

Morning all. Still rather bloated today, really not sure what's going on. On the plus side though, went to bed last night ready to go to sleep when my dh said, 'should we not be bonking?' lol. I had ov'd yest and forgot! He's more determined than ever, bless his wee cotton socks. Smile so dtd twice around ov - fingers crossed!
Congrats Roxy , sound like you've hit the nail on the head there with your ov etc.
frankel thanks for all the great info, and Nicola for the link!!
What did everyone think of midwives last night? I thought it was a lot more 'real' than obew, showed a lot more of the stresses and worries. Xx

Newbie2 · 01/08/2012 11:10

Love I thought it was far more emotional and closer to reality. I will be interested to hear what my friends who are new mummy's thought of it!

I'm feeling blue :( My backache and ovary pains are back. My boobs are sore and hormonal. Can't believe there is a good chance that I did not OV after all the talk...boo hoo

OP posts:
Newbie2 · 01/08/2012 12:22

Roxy great news about your peak! I told you it would come :) Don't worry maybe AF won't turn up ;)

MissM I'm 30 years old. My doc appointment is booked for next Friday 10th. If AF hasn't arrived by then I will deffinately be asking for tests. I am slightly anxious today as I've got the cramps, burping and constipation back. These are all signs of Prostegen coming back so maybe it's a goo sign?

OP posts:
Roxyjade · 01/08/2012 12:47

You did indeed newbie, thanks for your support. Just concerned about my lutheal phase now, it seems to short. If the peak mean ovulation in the next 24-36 hours then that means my lutheal phase is 8-10 days which is to short but I can let the doctor no. Def go doctors and tell them to check you out, even if for peace of mind. I do think your ok though, it may still be the pill :)

33andTTC · 01/08/2012 13:44

Hi

Have been off cerazette since 22nd July. Not had a period yet but defo OV'ing since this weekend. Having been on the pill for so long, I'd forgotton about the 'goo' (TMI!). I never seemed to get this on the pill. So if we DTD on Saturday and I've been OV'ing... I'm clutching at straws here aren't I?!!!

I have since found out that the symptoms i'm having (sore boobs, tired, etc) are to do with pill withdrawal.

What should I do after DTD in future to ensure maximum effect....?

MissMedusa · 01/08/2012 14:26

newbie you seem to experience quite a lot of cramping. Could it be your bowels? Ovulation pain is actually not that common, the majority of women don't feel it at all. I think because we're TTC we tend to be hypersensitive to anything going on in that area but a lot of the time it turns out to be nothing.

Stick to your appointment on the 10th, hopefully they'll give you some blood tests. If you've OV'd by then they will be able to tell by the levels of Progesterone in your system.

Newbie2 · 01/08/2012 14:38

MissM I know I do seem to experience more then average strange feelings. They vary so much aswell. Deffinately not my bowels. That is ffine other then experiencing constipation and I've been tracking regular movements. When I google my symptoms it says it all relates to prostegen levels so something must be going on!!

OP posts:
FrankelSaysRelax · 01/08/2012 14:43

Never rely on Google! If you frame the question right you will always find what you want to hear!

The fact is that most pregnancy "symptoms" are exactly the same as many AF symptoms. But because you are looking for them to be pregnancy related you will assume that is what it means.

The only reliable pre-ov symptoms (and not everyone gets them) are increased CM and change in cervical position. The only reliable post-ov change is the rise in temperature.

Unfortunately everything else is too unreliable to trust. In the nicest possibly way, you must try to stop obsessing. We've all been there, I know how exciting it is when you first start ttc. But you will drive yourself mad with all the symptom spotting and end up putting too much pressure on yourself.

Newbie2 · 01/08/2012 15:12

I hear what you're saying however, today is CD 90, I think I went past that line of obsession 20 days ago Grin

OP posts:
Newbie2 · 01/08/2012 15:15

Oooooo I can tell the doctor next Friday that I've been off the pill for 100 plus days with no show or AF...that might make her sit up!!!

OP posts:
NicolaHazel · 01/08/2012 15:20

I think that 17.5 years of hormonal BC without ovulation just means my body is making it known that it's enjoying being natural as my pains around OV time and AF really aren't in my head.

Whether I'm successfully ovulating is something else entirely!

Newbie2 · 01/08/2012 15:23

Nicola agree :)

OP posts:
Roxyjade · 01/08/2012 18:19

Newbie, jut to let you know that I never felt ovulation pains and as soon as I came off the pill I now feel it, and it does hurt. Wondering if that is down to my low prgestrone ? I don't no, I will ask the doctor when I go back :)

NicolaHazel · 01/08/2012 18:21

Ah, that would be great if you found out for us...I'm not sure when I'll next go to the doctor!

Roxyjade · 01/08/2012 18:56

Hey

Just googling (i no i shouldnt google things) lutheal phase and it says if your lutheal phase is shorter then 10 days then you can't conceive :( so if my progestrone comes back low then I think I may ask to get on clomid or some sort of progestrone medication.

This is doing my head in now. You wait, plan for a baby then find out you basically can't have them naturally

DulcetMoans · 01/08/2012 21:40

Aw roxy, you don't know you can't concieve naturally. You can talk to the doctor, see about the clomid.

App reckons I OV today but I am pretty sure i'm not. So much waiting!
