The BESH Republic Of Rulvakia

Welcome to The BESH Republic Of Rulvakia. The national drink is of course gin, state funded to get you into a state. We have many traditions and customs, such as sechsing, swearing for the fun of it (optional) and urinating on little white sticks.
Enemy of the state is Droid, who must be heckled heartily should it put in an appearance. There is an ongoing lottery to win a baybee, being granted citizenship of The Republic is your ticket to the lottery.

As a democracy all members are entitled to put forward any customs or rules they would like and we can all adopt important but silly titles if we like. See the George Carlin sketch about hats and religion and make your own mind up about whether you would like a ceremonial hat to accompany whichever title/role you bestow upon yourself.

Newcomers should find and complete the BESHtionnaire so we can make sure you are cynical and non-fluffy enough to be granted Citizenship.

Ooo, several promising menkuls going in I see [tweaks. Nipples all round]

Day 36 and still haven't laid my egg [sigh]. HWHNN flies out to Dubai next Friday so the bloody ovaries need to get a move on! The OPKs have reverted back to pale, without ever reaching positive and the pant snot has disappeared. If I wasn't temping I'd have thought I'd laid it by now, but as you can see from my mountain-range-like chart, I haven't!

Northey · 17/06/2012 12:54

Finally managed today's shag before AMNH had to leave apparently saying "if it's not going to work, let's just leave it" was not helpful

Now off for a fathers' day walk.

cavey, this was the Clomid fuck up cycle, wasn't it? Any news on what drug they are going to try next if this cycle ends in droid?

CaveMum · 17/06/2012 13:06

I've got to wait until my appointment with the consultant on 10th July to see what happens next.
I do have one set of Clomid tablets left and the nurse said they wouldn't stop me from taking them if I wanted to, but that there would be no blood tests available to confirm ov.

HaveALittleFaith · 17/06/2012 17:11

Well, well done for those who managed the sechsing this weekend. Sorry to hear there's no obvious ovulation yet cavemeister :(

Not the most romantic phrase ever norf! Did you enjoy the walk?

bugs I do have the cheapy stuff but will try to hold off testing for at least another week I think. Not at all menkul well maybe a little bit

eurochick · 17/06/2012 18:43

Heh. It was a chocolate orange cake. It's a Nigella recipe. I've made it before. It uses marmalade for the orangey bits so it's nice and moist. It was a big hit. KFZK made a lovely main course to go with it for a Father's Day lunch. So we had that and then headed over to Canary Wharf for the MotoExpo to look at expensive bits of shiny metal. It has been a busy weekend after shooting all day yesterday!

My buzzwams are swollen and tender faify. But BFN. Sigh.

Norfy I'm feeling ok about the injections themselves. Needles don't bother me. I still feel like IVF represents failure for me though. Why won't my stupid body work? Hopefully the head dr I am seeing next week will help with the mentalling.

I sympathise with the swi comment. Who'd thunk sexy time could ever have become such a chore?

Cheers on cavey's egg. Come on, get cracking! This is no yolk! (You can all groan now).

HaveALittleFaith · 17/06/2012 18:53

Yes I believe the words 'No don't waste the sperm' have been uttered in our bedroom Hmm

euro it's good that you can be positive about the injections. I do get that feeling of your body not being good enough to win a baybee on your own. I get that's how you feel and I won't try to convince you otherwise. Keep your eyes on the prize though...that's all we can do!

Now I'm about to go and explain why we've done a crap job of educating our yoofs this year and that we don't want to carry on. Epic fail :(

HaveALittleFaith · 17/06/2012 22:31

Ouch. Just, ouch :( called in sick. Can't be a hero any more!

eurochick · 17/06/2012 23:06

Poor faify

I've just done my first downregging injection. Meh.

queenrollo · 18/06/2012 08:35

faith sorry you're still feeling so rubbish Sad

I'm nervous this morning, but thankfully I sort of know the nurse who heads the EPAU so will have a friendly face on hand when I go for the scan.
This morning I woke up feeling nauseous and have the constant mouth watering. It's a good sign. I've been having total exhaustion late afternoon to. Just hoping this bean is in the right place! I think this morning is going to drag. I have no-one to talk to about it other than you guys as we haven't told anyone about this pregnancy at all.

CaveMum · 18/06/2012 08:42

Morning everyone. Good luck with the scan Rollo, sickness def sounds like a good omen Smile

Faith, sorry you are feeling so rotten. Did you have any joy with a Drs appointment?

Still no ov here. Got my hopes up as I had a few stabby pains, but temp still down this morning. We did the sechs last night and HWHNN can come back either tomorrow or Weds to get a last one in before he flies off on Friday.

HaveALittleFaith · 18/06/2012 08:54

Morning all! Definitely the right decision to call in sick. Walking is rather challenging. I did get my pain under control with the top up painkillers but I can't work on that - it's liquid morphine! I'm going to ring the secretaries after 9 to see if I can find out with my urology appointment is going to be. GPs don't know what to do with me do they're not much help!

Good luck queenie! Definitely a good sign that you're feeling sicky and exhausted. What time is your scan? I'll be putting in a good word with Him upstairs too!

I'm sure the first one is the toughest euro. Sorry you have to face the reality of it though. Meh indeed.

How annoying cavey! Let's hope the pains are predictive of ov in the next day or so.

queenrollo · 18/06/2012 09:17

I'm booked in for midday faith - so, you know I could be in straight away or could have a long wait! As usual though I will have to attend with a full bladder even though I know they will ask me to empty it for a dildo-cam because I am too early for a normal scan to show anything.

OP posts:
HaveALittleFaith · 18/06/2012 09:40

I'd anticipate a bit of a wait at that time of day to be honest. Latter end of appointments queenie so ouch at the bladder stretching.

Still trying to establish an appointment date...why is this so difficult?!

queenrollo · 18/06/2012 09:45

that's what I'm expecting faify. The nurse said she only had one appt left so clinic is obviously going to be busy. The dept covers EPAU, regular maternity scans, gynae, fertility clinic and female cancers - so it's likely to be busy, and so I'm taking a book!

OP posts:
HaveALittleFaith · 18/06/2012 09:50

I was going to say take a book!

queenrollo · 18/06/2012 09:53

Can you phone the dept direct that you're waiting for an appointment from faith? As much as my Cons secretary can be a mardy arse she's been quite good at chivvying things along when I've pestered her.

OP posts:
HaveALittleFaith · 18/06/2012 09:56

Talked to a secretary total bitch who said talk to choose and book. 'no operators availbale' so I've left a message. Essentially it's been identified I needed an appointment but no appointment has been arranged.....I've left a message asking them to call me.

FriendofDorothy · 18/06/2012 10:10

Do you remember a couple of weeks ago I mentioned a friend who had a win on her first IVF attempt?

She just emailed me to say she had a scan on friday and it is twins! I am a bit envious of twins though - would have quite liked to get it all out of the way in one go! Really pleased for her though.

Hope everyone else is hanging on in there. I am ok. Getting fatter by the day and I am not sure I can blame it all on baby I am afraid!

queenrollo · 18/06/2012 10:13

booo for bitchy sec faith hope they call you back. You could invoke the threat of PALS if they don't. I found that properly put a rocket up the dept when I mentioned it! But the thing is we shouldn't have to get stroppy just to get a bloody appointment sorted out.

Wow dor what great news for yoru friend. I keep thinking about what I'd do if i was told i'm having twins. It was hard enough for me carrying one baby, i'm so small. If i had twins I'd be immobile!

OP posts:
HaveALittleFaith · 18/06/2012 12:15

Hurray we're back on! MSB is home :) tis luffly. He has made me a Cuppa.

How exciting for your friend. I know what you mean about getting it all done in one go. My sister has twin boys through IVF although she had it just before the cut off point when they stopped transferring more than one embryo - she has severe endometriosis and couldn't conceive naturally - and she feels exactly that way. Twins are intense though. And expensive.

Stil waiting to hear back.....ooh but have ordered a nice dress for my friend's wedding in 4 weeks see here which should come Friday. I have shoes to match and can borrow a bag off my sister. Just hope it looks nice on!
I always, always wanted two DC but I don't knwk if I could face TTC again. Even though things are supposedly resolved...I think if we did we wouldn't leave it long after dc1 and would probably set a time limit,

CaveMum · 18/06/2012 12:24

You're sounding a bit perkier now Faith, are the pain meds kicking in?!

Euro, what lovely news for your friend. My mum is an identical twin and there are several sets of twins in the family, so my odds (when I get round to diffage) are disconcertingly higher than normal Confused

Any news Queeny?

I've had my day made: I had to pop out of the office to collect something from the Post Office and a man walking towards me stopped in his tracks, looked at me then said "I thought you were Kate Middleton for a moment!" Grin

[ponders trying to blag her way into the Royal Enclosure at Ascot tomorrow] Wink

FriendofDorothy · 18/06/2012 12:29

OK. who broke Mumsnet this morning?

CaveMum · 18/06/2012 12:39

Oh it's all over the place isn't it Dor! I've had to do some work instead!!!

HaveALittleFaith · 18/06/2012 13:31

I think I'm just happy to have MSB home! Missed him. Think it does us good to have some time apart, we don't do it that often.

Yes broken MN was rubbish! Snot like I had work to get on with. That's why I went shopping instead..Wink

queenrollo · 18/06/2012 13:41

I've just posted in the PESH but I am Grin because not only is my bean right where it should be but the scanning lady (sonographer?) was happily surprised that she could see a very faint heartbeat.

I cannot get a booking in appointment with the midwife until I am 11/12 weeks.....Hmm looks like i'm going to have to go into battle again to get bloody ante-natal care!!
