About to start TTC#2 - does anyone want to come along for the ride?

Hi there,

So, DD is going to be 3 in June and I'm going to be 38 two weeks later. About a year ago I wanted a 2nd DC but DH didn't. I then changed my mind at Xmas.

DH has now changed his mind and persuaded me so finally we're in agreement and ready to go.

CD1 is due this week and then we can start.

Is anyone else ready to TTC#2?

Not great news here.

After having a wee earlier today I found a little streak of red blood when I wiped. Only a tiny little streak in some kind of clear mucus (sorry if TMI), AF doesn't start like that and I never spot in between. AF not due until 26th anyway so hoped maybe something to do with implantation and not AF on its way.

However I'm starting to cramp now and some more blood/mucus around, not a streak any more and so I think I'm out for this month. I can't believe that AF is this early - don't think I've ever had a 22 day cycle although I used to have 23/24 days sometimes before I had DD, settled to around 25/26 subsequently.

With all the symptoms I was having I really thought this might be the month for us. Must have been in my head after all. I feel really sad and like having a little cry, if I'm honest, but I know I've got no right to complain when it's only cycle 2 and there are some on MN who have been trying for ages.

Best pull myself together and go and give DD her bath

Here's to some BFPs for all the rest of you guys who are still trying!

xxx

EddieIzzardIsMine · 22/06/2012 19:08

littleduck I'm really sorry. You're perfectly justified to feel upset, dont feel you have to apologise for it. I know its crappy so take it easy on yourself, have a little cry if that helps and then try and think of 1 thing you could do tonight that'll help you feel even the tiniest bit better - chocolate, bath, magazine, glass or 3 of wine?

Its its any consolation I got AF exactly the same last month (its on here if you read back a bit) started with blood streaks a few days even before AF was due

Hope you come back on later and say how you're doing x

Jodiebodie · 22/06/2012 19:27

Ah Littleduck that's so awful. Eddie's advice is very good though. Big hugs xx

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 22/06/2012 19:45

It dosent matter how long you've been trying it gets you some months! Look after yourself and three seems a very lucky cycle for a lot of us x

jessi0343 · 22/06/2012 21:56

Sorry bb to hear about DS and food frustrations. I think it's a battle we all go through! And luckyduck, very sorry about arrival of AF.

I think Eddie had some great advice for us all: whenever we feel upset to allow a little cry, then do something just for you, like a bath, glass of wine, time for yourself is important. Mine is if I'm having a bad day I get dh to take dd for a walk and I get caught up on east Enders with a bag of haribos...

littleduck · 23/06/2012 08:16

Thanks so much everyone for all your kind thoughts - the wicked witch of the south seems to have properly arrived this morning so it's definitely out for me this month.

I ended up popping out to the shops after DD had gone to bed and bought a nice pizza and some profiteroles to eat for dinner. It felt like a little treat at least. DP was very nice when he came home and said 'Oh well, we'll just have to keep practising!' which I suppose is the only way to look at it really. Still feel a bit sad but am trying to be positive.

The big plus of it all is that I will be able to have a few drinks on my 40th which is a week next Fri - going out for dins with a small group of close friends who would definitely have noticed if I wasn't drinking and it would have felt a little bit early to tell them.

Any good tips for vitamins/supplements or anything? what with DD havng been a surprise i've never had to think about it before. I've seen a couple of mentions for B6 and did i see something about Royal Jelly and Evening Primrose Oil? Any tips/ideas would be great. I'm also thinking about buying ovulation sticks as I haven't bothered before and it might help. Am completely thrown by this 22 day cycle I've just had - shortest one ever I think and totally out of character.

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 23/06/2012 11:40

I took zita west vitafem and vitafem boost & b6 and I ov'd on day 14 the cycle I got pg which is unheard of!

Cocochops · 24/06/2012 10:06

Morning all hugs to littleduck.

Cd 16 here so I think I will be ov this week have been DTD every 2 to 3 days for the last week so will carry that on for the next week or so.

Feeling a bit down here think our house purchase is about to fall through and this weather is starting to really get to me. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

littleduck · 24/06/2012 18:06

Thanks pickle I will have a look for those. Are they easy to get hold of (the Zita West ones I mean - B6 I know is easy to find)?

Coco thanks for your kind hug, here's one for you and I hope your house sale goes ahead. We have just put ours on the market and are crossing our fingers it all goes smoothly.

Just had emails from 2 of the girls from the NCT group I belonged to when DD was on the way, to say they are both having second babies in the late autumn. I'm chuffed to bits for them, of course, but would so dearly love to be able to say 'me too!'.

Feeling bit sad again.... will stop being a miseryguts soon, promise.

Hope everyone else is well and fingers crossed for some new BFPs soon!

xx

Em2010 · 24/06/2012 18:28

Hiya All, really sorry evil AF got you little duck. Felt so positive for you, you've every right to feel disappointed. coco also, house moves are really stressful! Will keep my fingers crossed for you that things get back on course next week.

Well, some news here too. Cracked and did a ridiculously early test again on Friday... there was a very very very faint second line on it! Not one to get my hopes up (especially as bf arrived to stay 5 mins later and she is about to start ivf on Monday!) I waited till I couldn't hold out any longer (4am this morning to be precise) and did another. This time the line is a bit stronger! Still in complete denial. Punctuated by brief periods of giddy excitement. Won't believe anything till I've actually missed AF which i reckon will be about Thursday?! x

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 24/06/2012 18:47

Aw congratulations! That's how early I tested, I've known for ever and am not even 6 weeks yet!

jessi0343 · 24/06/2012 19:18

Wow! Congrats em!! What great news!

Jodiebodie · 24/06/2012 19:51

Ah congrats Em! That's brill news. I know I will definitely cave in and test early now, even if I get no symptoms at all! Have you worked out your EDD?

Littleduck I took the pregnacare vits for conception and pregnancy when trying for DS but didn't take anything else x

littleduck · 24/06/2012 21:26

Em2010 that's fantastic news, huge congrats! Let us know your EDD.

Thanks Jodiebodie for the vits suggestions and fingers crossed for a BFP for you.

likesoxinbed · 25/06/2012 13:15

tentatively joining in...
should be 'too old' for all this really - 40 nxt bday and DS is just turned 13.After running out of pill DH and I got a bit chancy and then wondered if I was pregnant.. Eventually found out, after much debating, that I wasn't and both found to our surprise that we were disappointed! No idea how we were going to cope, but you just do and we'd kind of decided we were happy and would get on OK. Probably better off this time than last TBH but we do both lead v busy lives..
So now we find ourselves throwing caution to the wind and looking for that BFP again..
Didn't seem too hard last time but then it was 14 years ago!
Interestingly all the time I was OTP my libido was non existent and off it I find myself hornier than in years!
So it's fingers crossed, legs uncrossed, and much luck and love trying! XX

Em2010 · 25/06/2012 21:39

Hi Everyone! Welcome sox! 13 years sounds like a good age gap to me- at least you won't have ds1 waking you up at the crack of dawn wanting to watch postman pat!

Thank you all so much for your kind words! I'm very nervous because it's still so early. Coping by total denial mostly! Going on when I ov'd I think my edd is 6 March. Felt pretty sick this morning! Didn't get ms until 6 weeks with ds so rather worried about how bad it's going to be this time. Hoping it's a good sign of a strong pregnancy though.

Hope for some more bfps this week and happy shagging to all those who are ovulating! x

Jodiebodie · 26/06/2012 13:00

Welcome sox. Don't worry about age gap. My brother is 13 years younger than me, me and my sister (3 yrs younger than me) really enjoyed it. We were also on hand a lot to help our parents out! It's interesting to hear about ur libido changes since stopping the pill. I was always very suspicious of how the pill affects us and not sure I will ever want to take it again (which obviously isn't an issue at the moment!).

I like the 'fingers crossed, legs uncrossed' comment!

Bfn x

likesoxinbed · 26/06/2012 13:01

Thanks Em and congratulations! xx Am sure it is a sign of a good pregnancyxx

No, our 13 yr old just wakes us up with heavy metal, or to complain about the speed of the broadband... LOL

OH and I still v much enjoying baby dancing, so here's hoping.

likesoxinbed · 26/06/2012 13:16

Hi Jodie, we cross posted. Nice to hear you enjoyed the age gap - I have a twin and love it - but have no conception of what the age gap means!!

As for the pill - I am enjoying feeling normal again and hadn't realised how different it made me feel being on it.

EddieIzzardIsMine · 26/06/2012 17:21

Em Congratulations! I can barely keep up with the BFPs! How are you feeling?

Welcome Sox

Ho hum, still a week to go for me before AF....

Thread seems to have been going a bit slow, hows everyone else doing?

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 26/06/2012 20:08

You can get the Zita West from Amazon littleduck

They are £20 for a months worth, I was also using Boost tables which cost £25 I wouldnt have been able to keep it up very long but thought i would give myself a headstart!

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 26/06/2012 20:08

Good Luck eddie will check in next week to see what happens!

jessi0343 · 26/06/2012 20:09

Hi everyone! And congrats Em on the BFP!!

I think I'm out this month. I still don't have AF, but it's CD32, and I did a test today: sad to see BFN. I have no idea how long cycle is so I just want AF to come now so that I can start fresh on a new cycle!

Welcome sox!

WinterLover · 26/06/2012 21:50
