About to start TTC#2 - does anyone want to come along for the ride?

Hi there,

So, DD is going to be 3 in June and I'm going to be 38 two weeks later. About a year ago I wanted a 2nd DC but DH didn't. I then changed my mind at Xmas.

DH has now changed his mind and persuaded me so finally we're in agreement and ready to go.

CD1 is due this week and then we can start.

Is anyone else ready to TTC#2?

I posted upthread about my worries.

I am in a state of shock.

Just took a Clearblue and I am pregnant. Shaking. So so happy

Cocochops · 21/06/2012 18:13

woo hoo! Congrats bbface

Em2010 · 21/06/2012 18:32

Fab news bb!! Really pleased for you. Gives hope to all of us with irregular cycles! x

Em2010 · 21/06/2012 18:37

Hey jodie I have been thinking a lot about my first symptoms with ds not that I'm not obsessively spotting for them again I think being thirsty, going to the loo more often, vivid dreams, sore boobs, ewcm and, ahem, constipation all before I tested! I just didn't notice them the first time! At the moment I only have slightly sore boobs and the weird dreams to go on so I'm not holding out much hope for this month! x

Jodiebodie · 21/06/2012 18:45

Wow BB that's fantastic news! Here here to irregular cycles!

Thanks Em. I'm definitely obsessing! I think sore boobs is a good sign, but you don't want to get your hopes up either. It's soooo difficult. When are you testing?

Em2010 · 21/06/2012 19:03

I think I'm trying to play my hopes down a bit this month so I don't get disappointed! I'm aiming to test on the 29th if I don't crack sooner as I think AF is due around then, but never quite can tell! When are you going to test? x

Jen0226 · 21/06/2012 21:09

I go away for a few days and this thread has moved so fast! Some more new faces and some fantastic bfps - brilliant news :)

littleduck · 21/06/2012 23:24

Hi everyone

BBface many congrats on your BFP!

Shamefacedly must admit that I cracked and tested again today - still BFN even on First Response but poss not surprising as AF not due till 26th so still 5 days before that. Recall testing for DD 4 days before AF due and BFN, but tested on day AF due and got BFP so hoping for same again.

Symptoms now (like Em I'm not at all obsessively symptom spotting, honest), as well as mildly sore boobs and kind of tingly feeling from time to time, like a let-down reflex when you are about to bf, I have now started burping since yesterday (sorry if tmi) and feel a bit off my food. As result of BFNs am starting to wonder if this is all in my head. The wait is killing me.

To add my details

Eddie - CD15, cycle 2, cycle length 28(ish) days, poas/af date 4th July
Coco - CD12, cycle 1, cycle length 34(ish) days, poas/af date 13th July

Thanks so much for lovely kind words, esp considering I am a very new and late joiner.

I woke at 3am last night and did not get back to sleep, just thinking, thinking thinking. Took another one this morning and positive so going to book a doc app I guess.

Thanks again and all the best to you all.xx

EddieIzzardIsMine · 22/06/2012 08:31

Congratulations BBFace! How are you feeling?

I've updated the stats with peoples most recent and the previous BFPs so we have a list of 'graduates' (and it helps me work out the percentages!)

Pickle ? BFP!
Bazzle ? BFP!
Posy ? BFP!
BB ? BFP!

So far, according to everyone whos put their stats up we have had 12 in the running and 6 BFP's so a 50% success rate so far!

Hows everyone doing today?

Still a 'shagger', no idea if I've ovulated though, should have done by dates a few days ago but no trace of ewcm yet, only have one ovary after an operation to remove a cyst whiost pregnant with DS so stressing myself out that its going to be even harder....need to think positive I think!

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 22/06/2012 08:59

There were a few people at the start as well who got bfps straight away! Congrats bb! Lovely news Smile

EddieIzzardIsMine · 22/06/2012 10:34

Pickle do you know your edd yet?

I'll have to go back from the start, I only worked from page 20 or so...

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 22/06/2012 11:50

There seemed to be a run of people saying hi im x, oh fuck I've got a bfp!

This thread is so lucky. That's a really high rate!!

bbface · 22/06/2012 12:32

Atm I am feeling horribly horribly guilty and asking myself whether I deserve to be a mother for a second timeSad. I really shouted at my DS at lunch. He has got into this habit of shaking his head and saying no to almost whatever I put in front of him to eat. He loves food and once he gets going, devours it. Not today, and I really shouted and threw a little toy in frustration. I mean come on bbface!!!!! My darling boy was so upset, I put him down for bed and climbed in the cot with him, he was clinging on to me like his life depended on it. I just hate hate hate that I get bothered about food. It is literally the only time I get worked up, and boy do I get worked up. I shouted, and I do not mean I raised my voice, I mean I SHOUTED.

Anyway, going to try to move on from that. This whole month I was as dry as a bone. Combined with the fact that I nevered recorded a positive OPK (i thikn I must have done literally the day before I started testing), I was convinced that there was problems. I know ewcm is often crucially important, but I promise you I have had not even a drop of it the last 5 weeks.

I feel good. A hint of nausea and a breast tingle. I feel pregnant though. It is the same feeling as before. Just different

xx

Em2010 · 22/06/2012 13:25

Oh bb don't feel guilty! I did exactly the same thing once and then posted on fb about it. I had about 20 comments from my mum friends saying they'd all done the same thing! It's really frustrating when dc refuse to eat and I bet your hormones are all over the place at the moment!

Just a thought but some opks don't work on some people. Well the first packet I ever tried registered as a negative when I knew I was ovulating! x

EddieIzzardIsMine · 22/06/2012 13:44

Bodes well for me if you got a bfp on a month you had no ewcm - day 17 of a 28 day cycle and still none here....

Dont worry bb sure most parents have gotten stressed at something at some point

Bazzle · 22/06/2012 14:04

Wooo congrats bb and Posy! Super news :) bb don't feel bad, everyone does that sometimes. I have more than i would like with DS - he is very wilful and sometimes drives me mad!

I looked through the thread and added a couple more BFP from earlier on = 57% success rate (although i think there may be a few infrequent or one time posters not included as shaggers below).

All ok here - starting to feel a bit sick and tired which is comforting but am really worried about how i'm going to cope with DS soon as i get very bad nausea from 7 ish weeks!

Ah BB the eating issues are getting to me too. My DS used to be so good when weaning but now he will hardly eat anything! It's so annoying as I want to make all these nice meals for him, but have given up as I know I'll end up eating them myself.

Littleduck that all sounds really positive, fingers and toes crossed for you.

Bazzle · 22/06/2012 15:00

Maybe it's a phase. How old are your LO's? DS is 22 months and way to busy to eat! I sometimes have to resort to spooning it in while he is playing!

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 22/06/2012 15:01

Mine is the same, it's awfully frustrating. I spent ages making him nice meals but all he really likes is things like fish fingers!

Jodiebodie · 22/06/2012 15:09

Sorry Em this thread is moving fast... I'm going to try and hold out until my poas date (3rd July) but if I get any symptoms I know I'll cave in and test before that. To be honest though I don't hold out much hope this month as have no ovulation signs and I think my body is still recovering from bf DS :(

Jodiebodie · 22/06/2012 15:12

Yes fish fingers are a life saver although he even chucked those on the floor yesterday! My DS is 15 months. He only just got his first tooth ( I know very late!) so maybe teething is really the problem..

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 22/06/2012 16:01

As a rule of thumb the more time and effort I spend on the food the more he is likely to throw it on the floor. Some days all he will eat is cheese and sausage. Sad

Jen0226 · 22/06/2012 16:09

My DS is the same bb - really really reluctant to get into his booster seat and start eating. We get screaming, back arching, food throwing etc. Then 10 mins later when he's calmed down he scoffs the lot! I've shouted at him a few times and tried dumping him in the hallway as a kind of time out but I don't know if he understands.

Another week for me until ov - feels like ages....
