About to start TTC#2 - does anyone want to come along for the ride?

Hi there,

So, DD is going to be 3 in June and I'm going to be 38 two weeks later. About a year ago I wanted a 2nd DC but DH didn't. I then changed my mind at Xmas.

DH has now changed his mind and persuaded me so finally we're in agreement and ready to go.

CD1 is due this week and then we can start.

Is anyone else ready to TTC#2?

Hi everyone - room for another one?

My DS is 19 months and we decided to try for #2 last month. First cycle didn't work and I'm now CD3 of cycle 2. I'm charting temps like I did to conceive DS - which happened in cycle 3.

Hope everyone had a great Fathers Day with their families today :)

Welcome Jen and good luck!!

Lastbox, I am feeling very similar to you this month. Felt really low on Friday when I knew that AF was imminent, ridiculous to feel this crap when it was only our 2nd month of trying, but like I said earlier on this thread, when it's happened first time previously, it's difficult to get your head around the fact that it's actually more the norm for it to take longer. DH and I had a major row over the weekend aswell and it's made me think twice about everything. He can often say quite cutting things but being told to 'go and die a slow painful death' was a little extreme to say the least. Sad

What doesn't help is that I've started reading '50 shades of Grey'. It's been absolutely slated but then when I looked at the reviews on Amazon, there were more people giving it a 5 than a 1 (although not significantly different) but I'm actually really into it. But it's making me think about romance and I'm having some lovely dreams none of which involve DH Blush... One involved Robert Pattinson (I've always been in club Jacob, so very odd) and the other involved my Brother's best mate!! Who's only 23!!! How on earth will I look him in the eye...

I so miss those initial couple of (sex-free) dates where it's all anticipation and butterflies... ...

Ahhhh well, back to reality. Sorry for the waffle. Enjoy your week everyone!!

cycle 3 for us to!

Em2010 · 18/06/2012 13:11

Hi jen welcome!

posy sorry about your bfn.

Lastbox and Aday sorry to hear you're feeling down. The whole ttc thing is rough and it does put a strain on relationships. Also quite a frosty weekend in our household whilst dh and I fight. Feel so stressed out in this 2ww. It's absolute torture!!

aday those dreams sound good! I keep hearing so much about 50 shades of grey so I think I will read it just out of curiosity! I hardly get to read much anymore since ds though.

I'm currently hiding in my car outside my office! Going to hit the shops for a bit to try and take my mind off all this waiting business. Hope everyone else is doing well xx

Bazzle · 18/06/2012 13:46

Un mumsnetty hugs to Lastbox and Aday - really crossing my everythings that this cycle is the one! x

Em2010 · 18/06/2012 21:19

I'm officially a crazy woman. Just poas about Blush 5dpo. Predictably bfn. Chances of me holding out until 29th look slim to none.

Jodiebodie · 18/06/2012 22:40

Congrats Bazzle! I bet that was the best prize for daddy at the finish line!
I am cd14 but no signs of ovulation so I guess just keep up with DTD for at least the next week!

jessi0343 · 19/06/2012 04:11

Welcome Jen!

Sorry to hear about the recent bfns. Fingers crossed for next cycle!

Am doing really well to keep busy during this 2ww, that ive hardly thought about it! DD has also been so cute recently, and just yesterday took her first steps, awww. Have really been keeping positive, and i know if I get AF this month to keep optimistic for next cycle.

Lol have heard about this 50 shades of grey book! Think I may get it... It may help to get in the mood for next cycles SWI!

EddieIzzardIsMine · 19/06/2012 08:26

Hi Jen!

Sorry things are a bit rough for you both Lastbox and Aday, you too Em, ttc can be really trying sometimes cant it?

Glad DD is walking Jessi, that'll help rather than carrying her when heavily pregnant!

Still a 'shagger' atm, in fact according to dates I should be ovulating today, although no ewcm yet....dtd last night but wont get a chance to today with work stuff so tomorrow will be the next time, hope we manage to catch it

Fingers crossed for everyone, who's next for AF/POAS?

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 19/06/2012 09:28

Congratulations something & bazzle!

Brilliant news!

somethingwittynot · 19/06/2012 09:42

DP will be doing the carrying when im heavily pregnant Grin

EddieIzzardIsMine · 19/06/2012 09:47

something I'm hoping to delegate carrying too!

Although DS has started to walk small distances without pram/being carried which really helps - he and Daddy went to the park on a 'bear hunt' yesterday while I was at work!

Came home to a muddy toddler and some lovely pictures of them both running around the woods and fields!

somethingwittynot · 19/06/2012 10:53

awwwww thats so cute! DS will be 13 months when DC2 is here

bbface · 19/06/2012 12:49

Hi All,

Pls can I join?!

I have read this thread with interest, but never posted because tbh I didn't want to accept that maybe I was having a little trouble getting preggers. Today I have accepted that getting pregnant a second time is seemingly not as easy as my first (was was not planned but hugely welcome. Like 'OMG I am pregnant, how did that happen? Shit!, and then a minute later, 'Yipppeeeeeeeeee, I am pregnant!' kind of reaction).

Anyway I am now in month 4. I have no idea what the hell is going on with my body. When I got pregnant the first time around I was extremely skinny and had not had regualr periods for about 6 years. I was on about 50 days cycles. I didn't havea clue about ovulation etc. I have a sneaking suspicion that my pregnancy was a miracle.

There is no pattern whatsoever to my periods. One month - 40 day cycle. Next month 21 day. Day 1 was 25th May. I have tested everyday since June 10th and I STILL have not ovulated. SOmetimes I have been testing 4x a day, so no chance missing. I even took an early pregnancy test today, but negative.

Any advise was would be hugely graefully received. No idea where to start with the temperature tracking, but I think next month I will start. I am so baffled as now 25 days into my cycle and no bloody ovulation yet?

Sorry for this waffle. It just feels so good to get it all out. I have said nothing to anyne in RL because everyone assumes that falling pregnant will be as easy as the frist time for me because of my first. No one (other than dh) has any idea that first pergnancy was likely a chance in a million.

xxx

bbface · 19/06/2012 12:52

Sorry so many types. DS (22 months) on lap and 'helping' me type

babyjames · 19/06/2012 13:38

BB - I have been lurking on this thread too. Didn't want to read and run. Sorry you're having a tough time. My cycle is all over the place like yours but unlike you took me ages to catch with DS. These threads are sure a good place to vent and seek support. XXX

babyjames · 19/06/2012 13:39

PS Hi all, sorry for jumping in!!! I bring chocolate :)

Em2010 · 19/06/2012 14:03

Ooh chocolate! Yum! Ta!

Just a quick note to welcome bb your situation sounds quite similar to mine and when I'm not hiding in the loos at work I will type a linger message! Anyway, welcome to the thread! x

Em2010 · 19/06/2012 14:04

Longer message that is, not linger!

Bazzle · 19/06/2012 14:24

bbface welcome - i had really wacky cycles this year - ranging from 19 days to 38. Sometimes i would get a pos OPK on day 24 - i got pregnant this time round (attempt 3) so don't give up!

P.s my DS is also 22 months :)

somethingwittynot · 19/06/2012 16:02

so have just been to the doctors and she was lovely. has sent of my refferal for an early pregnancy scan and ill get the appt through the post

have my booking next thursday

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 19/06/2012 16:16

Bazzle I can't wait till your scan GrinGrin

WhosPickleisThatOnion · 19/06/2012 16:17

Actually is there any way you could be more pregnant than you think? Was thinking this morning that could explain all the positive opks as they pick up hgc too??

bbface · 19/06/2012 19:23

Thanks so much for the welcome.

Oh I do not think I got pregnant the first time around quickly! I had not bothered with the pill for 6 years as my periods were so shockingly irregular that I convinced myself I was infertile (and I hated what the pill did to my skin!).

So it actually took me 6 years to get pregnant the first time around, but because I was not even remotely tracking it and it wasn't even slightly on my radar, I didn't think about it... until now that is.

6 years!!!! I am 31 already. And I am desperate for DS (22 months) to have at least one sibling.

Just tested. Again. for ovualtion. No joy. 25 days and OPK positive. Smething is up. Added to which, my CM, which is usually the only thing that is obvious about my cycle, has completely dried up. I am practically as dry as a bone and have been for the whole of the last 25 days, other than just one day of very creamy CM.

Any thoughts? Out of curiousity, when would be the earliest I could do a preg test. May 25th Day 1. Started OPK on Day 16 (no point before as never been recorded before but I have stupidly allowed the tiny droplet of hope that I ovulated before then. Unlikely if I am brutally honest with myself). Anyway, let's say I did ovulate on Day 15. And I have a 34 cycle (like last month). When is the earliest I can test? (I tested today but BFN)

So bloody swept up in me me me atm. So sorry. Going to properly read everyone's posts to get an good idea of everyone's history.

Thanks
xxx

Em2010 · 19/06/2012 20:17

Hey bb sorry, no I didn't mean you were similar to me in getting pregnant quickly the first time, I meant in that I also suspect ds was a bit of a miracle baby on account of, like you my periods stopped for years and I always thought it was because I didn't weigh enough... It's really hard not get panicky and a bit obsessed and then having people saying "try not to get stressed, it won't help" is THE MOST AGGREVATING phrase because then you get stressed about being stressed! Sorry, I'm not sure in helping, just rambling a bit! Have you mentioned any of this to your gp? In my experience, the more sympathetic female ones would listen to your worries and offer some practical advice.

eddie and jessi your little ones sound very cute! My ds is the best distraction from all this ttc malarkey. Can't wait to finish work tomorrow and spend some time with him. No more hiding in the loos and stressing! x
