About to start TTC#2 - does anyone want to come along for the ride?

Hi there,

So, DD is going to be 3 in June and I'm going to be 38 two weeks later. About a year ago I wanted a 2nd DC but DH didn't. I then changed my mind at Xmas.

DH has now changed his mind and persuaded me so finally we're in agreement and ready to go.

CD1 is due this week and then we can start.

Is anyone else ready to TTC#2?

Looks like any dtd the deed is out for me for today, DP off work with a sickness bug...

Adayforthinking · 14/06/2012 08:58

Eddie, thanks hun. I'm just not used to it taking more than the first month so it's really frustrating when it takes longer. I guess we'll just have to hope for next month.

I'm having horrid cramps again today which is odd as there's no signs of AF yet, but there you go. Our bodies like to play tricks when we're TTC!!

Sorry that your DH is ill, hopefully you won't pick it up and then you can DTD tomorrow.

Ah big hugs to you Aday. It's rubbish and there is nothing that anyone can say to help.
I know what you mean about losing that sparkle. DTD seems so scientific and organised sometimes!

somethingwittynot · 14/06/2012 11:18

Hugs to aday I'm on dray four of this bad headache am considering painkillers AF based on last cycle but have no clue when it's going to come have no spots yet and usally get them just before AF

Bazzle · 14/06/2012 12:14

Aday so sorry - that sucks. At least you can have a fantatic birthday though!

Know what you mean about finding it frustrating when it happened so quickly last time - i just don't know how people carry on TTC long term, it's just so all encompassing!

Eddie can you not just jump DH on his sickbed?! Perhaps if you do all the work he won't mind ;)

EddieIzzardIsMine · 15/06/2012 09:11

Bazzle sickbed? No such chance with a 17 month old who sees Daddy lying down and thinks it is the most fun to jump on his head! Did dtd though when he went down for his nap - DS not DP!

Think ovulation should be Tuesday so plan to dtd Sat, Sun, Mon and Wed (Tuesday completely out with work stuff) and see how that goes...hope its enough this month.

So did everyone get DC1 pretty much the first time of trying?

DS was a slightly drunken New Years Eve decision and got pregnant end of April so 4 months/5 cycles of trying

somethingwittynot · 15/06/2012 09:18

We first response says I'm pregnant!

posypoo · 15/06/2012 12:06

Eddie I am not sure if I conceived dc1 first time as we weren't using contraception for a year but weren't actively trying (didn't stop me thinking I might be pregnant every month mind). I then did the smep and it did work so I have tried the same thing this cycle 1.

Sorry my scant replies last few days, I've been peeking in but haven't had chance to type anything!

Bazzle · 15/06/2012 13:12

Yay for Something super news!! xx

jessi0343 · 15/06/2012 13:13

Yay!!!! Congrats something!! How exciting!

Eddie, I was also first month of trying for DD so I know i'll be slightly disappointed if it's not as quick this time around. Although I'm trying to stay realistic

Hugs to aday hun

Bazzle, are you going to test tmrw???

Cocochops · 15/06/2012 13:15

Congrats something and hugs to aday fingers crossed for next month. Are you testing tomorrow bazzle?

dd was conceived in first cycle albeit a long cycle having just come off the pill. Hope it happens quickly this time.

How old is everyone else dc? My dd is 14 months

Bazzle · 15/06/2012 13:22

Umm i 'think' i will try and test tomorrow. I know it's odd but i just don't like the power those tests wield - it's like your whole life is in their hands and i hate it! I would rather let nature reveal it by symptoms of AF.

My son is 22 months and was luckily concieved first time and i didn't test till about CD50 with him! I didn't get any symptoms till i was about 7 weeks at all though.

I hate this - wish i wasn't such a pansy!

somethingwittynot · 15/06/2012 13:40

Well we have conceived DC2 on cycle 3 DS was cycle one

EddieIzzardIsMine · 15/06/2012 13:55

Bazzle I know what you mean, its like if its not the result you want that 'crash' of feelings stays with you all day/for a few days...

Can you set up a really busy day so that if it is a bfn you have stuff to do straight away and not have time to 'dwell' for a few hours...probably stuff you could blow off though if (when!) you get a bfp

Bazzle · 15/06/2012 14:14

Exactly Eddie! And it's worse now as I have almost convinced myself I am pregnant so I'll be really sad if not (although will be able to have a more fun holiday!)

I think I'll test on sat at some point as we have a busy day and are out in the evening so like you say a good distration if bfn. Will let you guys know when I manage to psyche myself up! X

posypoo · 15/06/2012 16:49

Good luck for Sat Bazzle. I didn't test for ages with dd1 either, and only tested when I became convinced I was. I had had a year of not really trying but at AF stage being obsessed with possibly being pregnant and I hate that before test mad feeling so much!

Aday, hugs to you too. I forgot to say that before. That said, 10dpo is still quite early to test... You never know!

EddieIzzardIsMine · 15/06/2012 17:20

Crossed fingers and toes and any other body part I can manage for you Bazzle!

EddieIzzardIsMine · 15/06/2012 17:21

Except legs - might need those!
