About to start TTC#2 - does anyone want to come along for the ride?

Hi there,

So, DD is going to be 3 in June and I'm going to be 38 two weeks later. About a year ago I wanted a 2nd DC but DH didn't. I then changed my mind at Xmas.

DH has now changed his mind and persuaded me so finally we're in agreement and ready to go.

CD1 is due this week and then we can start.

Is anyone else ready to TTC#2?

I was taking Royal Jelly and Bee Propolis. Ive put them away now, I read on the internet that you shouldnt really self medicate herbs which may/may not effect your hormones as until you have been tested you have no idea what you may be deficient in, or have too much of. I think I`ll stick with the Vitamins for now!

But you know im going to be googling isoflavones. Macca was another one. didnt get it though, and DHEA or something like that.

Fingers crossed for you anyway. I suppose you could test over the next day or two? Or would it be too early?

oceanstwo · 17/05/2012 13:49

Don't do DHEA unless you're properly researched it! I know women take it for low AMH but it's a seriously hardcode thing to take!!

Think I agree about the herb stuff. I'm going to cut down on the vitex next cycle (have been taking 4 tablets/day) and see if that makes any difference, with a view to stopping entirely. Would be better to go au naturel if possible.

Period is due Monday/Tuesday. So still have quite a while yet. And DD didn't test positive until 12dpo (which is Saturday) and that was seriously faint. So it's still way too early I think (in my more rational moments..). Am torn between testing every day so I know, temping every morning to give me an idea, or just waiting it out until I get my period. Don't know which is the best/least bad option. Am scared also that I won't get my period and then will excitedly take a test, only to get a BFN!!

I think that next cycle I will try to forget everything - no temps, no OPKs, just lots of shagging until my period doesn't arrive. This is just too much stress.

PickledFanjoCat · 17/05/2012 13:54

Ive stopped myself now! I am just going to take extra vitamins and if it takes a while I`ll see the doctors and see whats what rather than start taking things. My cycle has been getting longer and its probably my own fault taking all this gubbins.

I dont mind taking vitamins as they should affect your hormones I dont think.

I tested about 14 DPO with my DS. Im going to try and stop early testing as well, as if you wait until 14/15 DPO and test negative you know really thats that.

Its these internet cheapies, I sent off for 15 and I cant stop myself with them, I am not going to replensih my supply.

There is nothing like TTC to send you bats. Its just that its out of your hands isnt it. If you want a new car you can just save up/ go out and get one. This is one thing you cant control!

PickledFanjoCat · 17/05/2012 14:00

If I were you Id probably test Saturday, partly because I would not be able to control myself, and partly because like you say I wouldnt get over excited if my period was late only to get more upset.

cheeseandmushroomtoastie · 17/05/2012 14:48

Just a quick one from me cd17 here. According to fertility friend I ov on day 9 (?) but will start using CBFM next month to get a more accurate Ov day. I have had a headache for a couple of days now and my boobs are soooo sore hurt when they touch my top (NEVER had that before). Don't want to drive myself crazy by making up symptoms though.
Can I just ask what SWI stands for again? Last time we were ttc I knew all the acronyms but I seem to have forgotten them all now Sad

Good luck to all testing in the next few days.

somethingwittynot · 17/05/2012 15:16

just to let you know i didnt get s positive till a week late with my son so testing on 14/15DPO is not "it"

PickledFanjoCat · 17/05/2012 15:25

No not totally, though about 90% of people test positive before then.

I check this website for the rough success stats:

I tested negative at this point this month, and I knew really not to get my hopes up too high.

PickledFanjoCat · 17/05/2012 15:26

Link didnt work!

Good luck as well Cheese. I dont exactly know what that means either.

oceanstwo · 17/05/2012 15:53

Shagging with intent ;)

Much better than the horrendous 'bd' (baby dance) everyone on fertility friend uses. People who'll happily describe their cervix to me but won't say the word 'sex'..

PickledFanjoCat · 17/05/2012 16:11

Baby dance!

thehomesecretary · 17/05/2012 17:00

Snagging with intent. I like that. I have been using BD not knowing what exactly it stop for just guessing from the context I've seen it in Blush

PickledFanjoCat · 17/05/2012 17:19

I'm going to have to tell dp that it will put him right off! I do the same thing using abbreviations. I think sticking with swi for me! I've seen dtd which I assumed was doing the deed?

oceanstwo · 17/05/2012 17:23

I hate 'AF' too. Not as bad as bd by any stretch of the imagination but still a bit twee..

Well still getting bfns. Keep thinking I see a line but it's just a shadow-they're cheap ones so lots of evaps!!

I looked at that website and 2/3 of women have positives by 10dpo so there's still hope but fading fast..

Just wish I'd get a positive or my period. One or the other. Bored of waiting now ;)

PickledFanjoCat · 17/05/2012 17:29

We should think of something new for af!

I use the website and tend to give up about 14dpo. I thought it was lower than that for 10 though? That's still quite early as implantation can be about 6-10 days can't it?

cheeseandmushroomtoastie · 17/05/2012 23:43

Was just about to order some cheap pregnancy tests off amazon but I resisted.... If they're not in the house I can't do them at stupid times like 2 dpo....

Now just need to apply that idea to chocolate and wine Grin

oceanstwo · 18/05/2012 05:54

Haha! I used up all of mine yesterday so that I couldn't take any more unless period was late. They're too addictive to have in the house and not pee on...

PickledFanjoCat · 18/05/2012 11:47

I still got about 8 left. I ordered 4 frers I won't waste those so I know I'll wait next month until I need too, once I've used up those pesky Internet cheapies.

oceanstwo · 18/05/2012 16:47

Well I'm out. Doctor ran hcg test along with others today at my check-up and my levels are under 1. So not pregnant. He was really surprised given my symptoms, and told me that it's not over yet by 11dpo: might only just have implanted. But I got a positive hpt at 12dpo with DD and there's no way that'll happen, so I feel like it's all over.

Just so frustrated that I've been feeling so pregnant and I'm not: how can I ever trust my body again?!

oceanstwo · 18/05/2012 17:06

Plus I'm now having period like cramps, suggesting that my LP has got shorter.

This really sucks. I hate cancer for putting me and DH through this.

EddieIzzardIsMine · 18/05/2012 17:06

Hi, just checking in on how everyones doing?

I'm sorry its been a rough time for you ocean, hopefully get the result you want soon

No idea this month as to when the 'right' time is as AF decided to play silly beggers last month and be late, have a hunch it might be this weekend but its my brothers brthday and my family are going to be here...that might be awkward!

Although given the mega-strops and throw-ourselves-to-the-floor-and-scream-so-loudly-everyone-turns-to-stare tantrums DS has had all day, I'm rapidly reconsidering the idea of DC2!

PickledFanjoCat · 18/05/2012 17:35

That's why I'm doing it now eddie I don't think I'll get another one out of dp when ds starts having tantrums! How old is he?

PickledFanjoCat · 18/05/2012 17:36

So sorry to hear that ocean hope your ok.

oceanstwo · 18/05/2012 17:43

Thanks Pickled - DH is coming home from work early and I'm going to have a large glass of wine :)

Just furious I've felt so pregnant: really got my hopes up despite me knowing that the odds were tiny. Have only ever felt like this before when I was actually pregnant. If I'd have felt normal then I wouldn't have minded so much about a BFN.

lastboxoftampons · 18/05/2012 18:26

oceans so sorry. Sad I know it's so disappointing when we get our hopes up. I was so sure I was first cycle, and now I always tell myself I'm not and ignore all "symptoms". But, I was reading my copy of TCOYF the other night and she actually says implantation occurs between 8 & 12 dpo, whereas most other sources say 7&10 days. Fingers crossed for you.

Eddie Know what you mean about tantrums. Also waking at night, making a mess etc, etc Grin it's a wonder anyone ever has more than one! Wink

Thanks for "shagging with intent" - always wondered what SWI meant! Grin

FF says I ov'd three days ago, which was a complete surprise to me. So hoping we did enough. Our timing was pretty good, but not as good as i hoped. But just found out a friend has an old CBFM that she said I can have! So excited as I was about to drop £40 on one on ebay! Can't wait to pee on those sticks! woo hoo! Wink

Hi pickled Smile

Wine all around then? Happy Friday!

PickledFanjoCat · 18/05/2012 20:34

HI lastbox crikey, youve laid an egg already!

Im starting on the CBFM this month, im on cycle day 4 now, and last month I ov'd on day 24 so Ill have a bit of a wait, and its going to make me POAS from day 6 so ill get plenty of wee-stick action.
