Ladies! Can I join you?
i had mc just over 2 weeks ago and TTC again asap.

MC was at 5-6 weeks, was natural loss and complete so it wasn't so bad. I had a wobbly couple of days and thought I'd just get over it. I'm finding my hormones are going mental and to be honest its really really annoying. The few days leading up to the mc I was certain that I was going to start bleeding (despite having no reason to), and the constant worry was exhausting, so when it happened It kind of made sense.

I got a BFP after my first month using a Clear Blue Fertility Monitor and I've started using it again. The hospital found my HCP levels were low, so I'm assuming that it shouldn't interfere with CBFM readings. I would have expected to see a high fertility reading by now but still showing low. Is anyone else familiar with using these monitors? I did read that the cycle after mc can be longer than normal - is that true?

Anyway, hoping for a BFP soon!

I notice a few of you already have!

TitsalinaBumSquash · 11/04/2012 07:01

Can u just say Ergh and a bit more Ergh. I don't feel very brave today going in for my scan. I wish DP were here. Sad

Great news on your scan Tiago Smile

TitsalinaBumSquash · 11/04/2012 07:02

Also welcome bottlered

And good luck on all other scans/ plans for the day. Smile

JaffaSnaffle · 11/04/2012 07:16

tiago, wonderful news! Go go baby tiago!

midget, tits, good luck today, giving you both a big squeezy crushing hug to banish doomy voices and give extra courage.

Welcome to the thread bottlered.

I am so unsure about how this pregnancy is going. I do have some symptoms, and I am starting to show, (that's 4 pregnancies for you I think), but I just cannot believe that this one might stay.

Tiago · 11/04/2012 08:18

I am due on 6 November. The baby will find itself being dressed in festival outfits (John Lewis did a lovely reindeer all in one last year) :)

Good luck tits- I have everything crossed for you.

Tiago · 11/04/2012 08:22

bottlered sorry to see you here but welcome to the madhouse. Your cycle post MC might well be longer than expected, so don't worry - its called the 'what the f**k' cycle for this reason. All you can usually do for it is keep dtd- ing and see what happens. If you are successful - great - bout if not things usually settle down after your first 'normal' AF.

Midgetm · 11/04/2012 08:30

Great news tiago, that should cure the metalling for a wee while.

Good luck tits, if you are at the Whittington, I'll come hold your hand.

In car on way for scan, feel like puking on my shoes.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 11/04/2012 08:35

Sadly no where near midget I'm south, west Sussex way so I shall have to be brave!
Good luck. Smile

Midgetm · 11/04/2012 08:57

I am Sussex born and bred, next time, I'll pop down. good luck tits, so far I've managed not to puke on my shoes.

TitsalinaBumSquash · 11/04/2012 10:36

We have a baby with a heart beat!!! Smile

Although bittersweet, the lady before me had a very large established bump, she left the room screaming and crying with her children and her DH Sad creating life is such a horrid, soul destroying thing sometimes.

Midgetm · 11/04/2012 11:07

tits happy happy joy joy.

So do we, and a healthy nuchal measurement for an old girl like me. Everything where it should be. Huge relief and hopefully at least a day or two without metalling. I may get an actual baby to go with my otht actual baby. I may be approaching normal. How weird is that?

If I metal in the next 2 weeks someone please hit me over the head.

BlueCrane · 11/04/2012 11:17

Just dropping in to say congrats Grin to tiago and tits fab news!! tits so sorry to hear about the lady who was in before you though - v tough to see!!

midget hope you're doing ok?

How is everyone else?

I am plodding along...now 33+1 and the tiredness has seriously kicked back in...and speaking of kicking LO is getting ever more aggressive with the kicks now that space is getting limited (although bump just feels as though it's getting bigger and bigger!!). I have my first NCT class on saturday which is making everything seem very real all of a sudden! Poor DH my hormones seem to be going haywire so have had plenty of blubbing moments about anything/everything over the last week or so too!! This time last year I was in the 2ww before my first (and doomed) BFP on 16th April...seems very odd that was a year ago...which reminds me that my due date is rather close to my 12wk scan date from last year where we found out about the MMC and the date of my ERPC. Really hoping none of it coincides...LO arriving before both those anniversaries would be preferable though that does require an early arrival!

leedy · 11/04/2012 11:20

Oh, brilliant news tiago and tits and midget!

BlueCrane · 11/04/2012 11:22

x-post midget fab news Grin

MissCoffeeNWine · 11/04/2012 11:47

tiago Grin tits Grin and midget Grin Congrats on tinytiago nipple and midgetgem So pleased for you all! Let the two minutes without metalling commence! Grin

Blue it is real you know, it's a real baby. Even if it does manage to co-incide with something it'll become your baby's birthday first and foremost very quickly. I know dates are hard. Thankfully this one would need to be four weeks overdue to share mini-toe's birthday but I had a wobble before I worked it out.

Welcome bottlered and others. I conceived 3 weeks after my first MC and 7 weeks after my second MC.

I am now 18+2 Shock check me out

BlueCrane · 11/04/2012 12:39

18+2 missc Grin go girl!!! That's definitely cause for a belly wobble dance!! I would join you but would fear doing more damage to my already rather sensitive lower back and pelvis Blush which is still recovering from DTD a couple of times at the weekend (think DH has finally realised that it may not be possible from now on, though he has got the sulks about that a bit!!). The reality is definitely kicking in though and as you say the anniversaries will be eclipsed by beany's arrival but I'm not sure they ever fully disappear from your head!

WhyAlwaysBoris · 11/04/2012 12:55

Hello all,

Welcome bottlered, In terms of cycle length I'm a 28 day without deviation girl, my WTF cycle lasted 5 1/2 weeks. This seems to be shorter than most. I don't think I OV'd during the WTF (but it was a late loss- 20 weeks, which i think might make a difference- my body just seemed to be in shock there for a few weeks).

tits :) midgetm :) Tiago :) Really lovely news.

MrsN How are you? i hope your scan was OK this morning, I'm thinking of you and sending you love xxx

Sunshine Please don't feel you have to wander off the thread if you need a rest from the TTC for a while, I was allowed to loiter here till I was ready to try again despite clearly contravening the thread title :)

farfallarocks · 11/04/2012 13:25

Great news tiago tits and midget, that is what we like to see on this thread!!!!

tits the 2 women who went in for a scan before me both came out crying, I felt awful :(

mrs N thinking of you and hoping you have good news too.

I am 10 weeks today, saw a heartbeat again last week and just 2 weeks to go until 12 week scan, it feels like such a long time though, wishing it away!!

How is manda getting on, not seen her for a while.
pebs have you managed to get referred to St Mary's?
Welcome to bottle and I am sorry for your loss. Your cycle is likely to be disrupted for a bit and also the Clear blue can get a bit confused by residual hormones etc.
Waves to everyone else :)

pebspop · 11/04/2012 13:49

hello far havn't seen you on here for a while. glad to see everything is going well.

i have got an appointment with my consultant in a couple of weeks so will be asking about referal to st marys then. i am thinking of going to see raj rai privately as i want to get things moving asap. am i right in thinking you saw him privatley - i want to ask you some questions.

did you go to the clinic on harley st?

i am hoping someting shows up on the TEG test as i had blood clots in the placenta last time. does he do this test at the private clinic?

How much did it cost?

How long did the results take to come back?

farfallarocks · 11/04/2012 14:43

Yes I am trying to limit mumsnet as I am drawn to MC threads and I am trying to stay positive!!!!

Right Raj Rai -

did you go to the clinic on harley st?

My first appointment was on Harley Street and then all subsequent appointments were at St mary's. He does evening appointments which was great as it meant my DH could come without taking time off work. Just a warning, he is always running late, sometimes up to an hour late but that is because he takes his time with each patient, I never felt rushed so I did not mind having to wait for others to have the same service!

i am hoping someting shows up on the TEG test as i had blood clots in the placenta last time. does he do this test at the private clinic?

The test is only carried out at St Mary's (something about the lab I believe) so I went there to have this test done. It might be worth speaking to his secretary and asking about having initial consultation and blood test in one sitting as you are not London based are you? She is very good on email, less so on the phone [email protected]

How much did it cost?

His consultation is about £200 for the first visit and £180 for the follow up.
The TEG was about £150. If you have other tests then take then with you. I did full set of tests including karotyping and an internal scan which was expensive but I think you have done this already? He might want to check your thyroid as he likes TSH to be under 2.5 not the usual 5. That test is about £60 I think. He is quite good about not making you spend money unecessarily if you are self funding. He also has a lovely manner if a little eccentric and always had plenty of oppportunity to ask questions etc.

The TEG brought up the problem I am taking the heparin for, my local hospital screen came back normal. I took heparin from BFP to help implantation.

How long did the results take to come back?

We had them all back in a couple of weeks, it would have been less time if not for the karotyping so could be as much as a week?

Best of luck!!!
