Hi all I'm updating from my phone so can't really catch up but just wanted to let you know that mini IQ is here.....she is a big baby (8lb 12) but is currently in SCBU as she is struggling to breath on her own. I'm totally shattered and have a fanjo which has been stitched to within an inch of use but we managed it with a c section or a spinal block so I'm pleased.

Once were home I'll do a proper update on everything but for now - love to all!! Xxx

Midgetm · 25/03/2012 08:45

Hurrah for mini IQ and big IQ. Not hurrah to the poor fanjo. Fingers crossed she is out if SCBU and next to you as soon as possible. Congratulations IQ, joyous news indeed. X

pebspop · 25/03/2012 08:57

Congrats iq. Hope your baby is back with you soon.

boris and midget thanks for info on the clinics. After my 20 week mc the post mortem found blood clots in my placenta so I think st marys is my best shot. The tests at my local hospital all came back clear so I am hoping I can get a proper diagnosis at st marys.

I tried taking 75mg of aspirin this time but it didn't work ( that could be down to the twins thing though rather than clotting problems). I was also supposed to take heparin but I couldn't as I was spotting all way through.

The thought of waiting ages for more testing is really hard but I really want it to work next time and feel that going to st marys will really help me. Arrrgghhh!

My other option is just to get of again asap and hope the aspirin and heparin prescribed by my consultant works next time.

eve34 · 25/03/2012 09:08

IQ just caught this in active conversations - sorry I haven't posted recently. I wanted to wish you and baby well. 8lb 12 Wow. Hope you are resting and are both back home soon.

Good luck to all those with bfp and those waiting it will happen.

I am now 31 weeks with a little girl. And she kicks for England!

Wishing you all well.

leedy · 25/03/2012 09:38

IQ! Super big welcome to MinIQ and fingers crossed that she's out of the SCBU as soon as possible. (also sending fanjo-healing vibes across the water...)

Poppyjen · 25/03/2012 10:15

IQ congratulations, well done to all of you Grin ! Hope that miniIQ only has a brief stay in SCBU and you can all get home soon. Take care lovely!

Before I had DS my friend gave me a bit of advice re the whole fanjo/stitches thing...apparently sanitary pads with soothing cream/gel on them (can't quite remember what it was, may have been something like arnica gel) and kept in the fridge so they are nicely cool on your delicate parts Wink

Didn't have chance to test the theory myself as ended up with EMCS but she swore by it!

Eve34 good to "see" you - wishing you all the best for the next few weeks - do let us know how you get on won't you!

WhyAlwaysBoris · 25/03/2012 10:16

Hurray! welcome baby IQ

tasmaniandevilchaser · 25/03/2012 10:25

congrats iq, hope mini iq comes home soon
congrats leedy!

Midgetm · 25/03/2012 10:40

peb I also had clots in the placenta with DD, who made it but was low birth weight. also took aspirin, but this was pre ST Mary's so I was only on 75mg. Dose of aspirin with st Mary's is 150mg. Really does sound like St Mary's would be a good place to start. Good luck with your referral. It has reassured me and given me back some hope so here's hoping it does the same for you. X

JaffaSnaffle · 25/03/2012 10:52

Iq, wonderful news! And welcome to the world mini-IQ! I hope she is soon out of SCBU and you are all home soon. Such a special time for you and your family. And well done you! 40 metalling weeks and a great big labour is over and she is with you and your DH now.

Boo to the battered fanjo. Sadly have experience there - DD decided she was superwoman and was born with her hand out on face. Gave herself a lovely bruise and me lovely tear, forwards not the usual backwards. I found having a jug of warm water to pour when peeing helped a lot. They were really strict about washing down there - no bubble baths for weeks, but they did say a few drops of lavender oil in the bath was ok. I was considering this for a while but healed quickly- you can hire little inflatable ring cushions if you are struggling to sit, I think maybe from NCT? But I will say, even though I had quite a bad time if it, I healed quickly and the memories faded rapidly. Hope the same for you x

PieMistress · 25/03/2012 11:06

Congrats leedy on the BFP !

Congrats iq on daughter's arrival - are you comfortable sharing the name on here? Am so happy she made it safe and sound! Hope your battered fanjo heals up soon, have heard great things about arnica and putting tea tree oil in the bath? Oh and sitting on a rubber ring! Hope you get home soon and baby IQ gets out of hospital xx

Nice to hear from you eve, congrats on expecting team pink! We are going to stay on team yellow .....

NoMoreMarbles · 25/03/2012 11:55

leedy congrats on the BFPGrinGrin

IQ excellent news on the arrival of DDGrin lovely weight too! My DD was 8lb 12oz and I had a 2nd deg tear too so I feel your pain! Hope her breathing settles and you get to bring her home very soon Smile{{{{big hugs}}}}

Moominsarescary · 25/03/2012 16:56

Well done iq and welcome to the world mini iq, hope she is back with you soon. Ds1 was 11lb 2 so I feel your pain x

Tiago · 25/03/2012 18:48

Congratulations IQ. I hope you are both home soon. :)

Midgetm · 25/03/2012 18:53

moomin blimey 11 2. That made my fanjo feel pain in sympathy. Sending virtual good vibes to get that mini IQ out of SCBU.

mrsnesbit · 25/03/2012 19:00

Dont know about any one else, but i just cant stop thinking negative throughts.
"when is this going to end?" counting down to loss instead of counting up to a baby.
Feeling especially low today. No bleeding but symptoms just there, gently on the edge. All meaning absolutely nothing.

I booked a scan at EPAU for Wednedsay because i just need to know if there is anything there. I havent had the courage to tell dh as he wants us to carry on untill something happens, or until we reach 12 weeeks.

I have reached 13 weeks before now, and there was nothing there, i cant be tortured like that again. Waiting, not knowing. Dont know whether to tell him or cancel it.

tasmaniandevilchaser · 25/03/2012 19:08

mrsnesbit you need to do whatever keeps you sane, personally I would go for the scan as I would need to know. Will your DH not support you in your decision?

mrsnesbit · 25/03/2012 19:12

he will, he has his way of coping, he will always go along with whatever i say.

He bases his opinion on tons and tons of previous scans with all of our mcs. Getting sent away for a week or 10 days or 2 weeks as nothing showing up...that i think he finds worse.

Midgetm · 25/03/2012 19:37

MrsN I would have the scan. Always choose knowledge over limbo is my moto.

pebspop · 25/03/2012 20:26

mrs I would always go for the scan. If something is wrong I would rather know asap rather than turn up to a twelve week scan and get bad news.

I am a big annoyed with myself that I waited two weeks after my six week scan for the next one. I should have gone weekly as I would have found out about this last mc a week earlier. They offered me weekly and I turned it down.

Will be having weekly scans next time.
