Mojangled good luck today with your appraisal. I have similar non milestones too. It's hard to push them to one side. But we will have REAL milestones before long. Wink

Lexie1970 · 15/03/2012 14:25

Hi all, I am so crap at individually name checking you all - on an iPad and really I should jot down notes as I read so apologies !!!!!

Our appointment has now been moved to Monday morning as doc is elsewhere - does he not realise we are his sole concern Grin

Appear to have ovulated and had 13 day luteal phase and even DTD at appropriate times but AF appeared yesterday -however not going to be fed up it was a normal cycle and that has to be good?

Didn't get first job and waiting to hear about 2nd. The weather has turned out beautiful today after a grim start it makes me think I don't actually want a job .... that's very bad as I should really show willing:)

Pleased to read that uou've booked the appointment pocket and it is all systems go

Scummy - what is your fsh level and what are you doing to try and reduce it?

Hope you all have a great day - it is amazing how much a bit of sun makes you feel a lot chirpier Grin

MiniH · 16/03/2012 09:42

Morning all.

Josie/Italian - hope you are both ok today. I really wish you both the peace and strength to get through this journey.

Lexie - good luck with Monday's appointment. Let us know how it goes.

Wave to everyone else - sorry am on iPhone so can't go back over posts easily to name check properly.

For me, we have pre-treatment consultation next week where we will sign all the forms and get the meds and the should start injections about a week later. Am on short protocol so only about a week of injections - not sure I could face much more than that. Am excited and apprehensive. Not sure how I am going to feel or how it will affect me so am trying to ignore as much as possible but planning who I can lean on if it all gets too much. Have re-started good gym routine about six weeks ago and I feel so so much better for it. I'm stronger physically and mentally and being tired physically really helps me sleep better - except last night where I was sleep talking again Smile. I think they will make me cut back on gym which I understand but I need to try and get a realistic answer from them on what I can do as it will help me mentally to keep active and that's a huge part of it.
Happy Friday all and happy soon to be mothers day to all that already have a dc. Who knows, maybe, just maybe, that will be me next year.

JosieSmith1 · 16/03/2012 15:15

MoJangled how did your appraisal go? It feels quite sad when you set milestones and don't hit them, but one day we all will

Sorry you didn't get the first job Lexie but fingers crossed for the second one

MiniH it's exciting getting all your stuff, well, as exciting as it can be! Hope you get an answer on the gym. It's hard to know what you can and can't do, and you don't want to jeopardise your chances

For me, had 2 stim injections and I'm sure I can feel some twinges in my ovaries. I could very well be imagining it but I'm hopeful. I'm predicted to be a poor responder so I'm hoping and praying they're growing! I feel more positive now that things are actually moving. It's so strange to think I've been on the injections for 4 weeks now but I've only got a week and a half left. I've worked out, all in all I'll have had about 52 injections by the time I'm finished! I'm not complaining, but I fully intend to use it as proof that I'm invincible Grin

Italiangreyhound · 17/03/2012 00:52

Pocket hope your consultant appointment goes well.

Josie HUGE hugs for us both. What my dear is qork! Is it like pork but made with quorm! Don't worry I know you meant work!

Thanks Mojangles lovely to hear from you. What is the next step?

Lexie all best wishes for job and treatment, yes, you are the only concern for your consultant! Always! Thinking of you for Monday and will try and remember to send up an arrow prayer - oh I am forgetful so will do it now!

MiniH well done for getting to this stage, short protocol, so you could be a cycle buddy too! Hurry up and come on in, the water is fine.......

Have found out the meds I was on for my heart MAY be what has been making me so exhausted so am VERY happy the doctors has taken them away!!! Yay....

I have gone back to New ID a course I did about my eating problems a while ago newid.org/

and I have gone to see the course leader and there will be a follow up. I had really wanted the course to work for me but it did not appear top and now I have found out that one drug I am on (not fertility drug) can also contribute to weight gain! So maybe the course and follow up support can help me.

I LOVE this song; love this version

Lucy any news? By the way, I had my intralipids at home this week, all fine. She did not use the big needle! Phew.

Keziah how is it going? How is feeding going?

Lissy Huge hugs for you my dear. How are noisy neighbours.

Sunng you are trying to do a great thing - any news?

Hugs to my cycle buddy. Baby dust to you my dear.

Rowing (if you are still there), hugs and really thinking of you.

Beginnings, Scrummy, Bugsy, Weller hugs an choco boobs and baby dust to you all.

Just found out another friend is having her fourth!

Went to a baby shower last week, my first. I did it all, except paint the bumb and hold the baby that was there.

I was very proud of myself!

I have even offered to visit a friend in hospital when she has a baby! I am brave. I just remember that I visited a friend in hospital just before I found out I was having DD. Hope I am not being superstitious about it! I mean about wanting to do it! I guess the new mum may like it, she is having a C-section and may appreciate it.

Hugs to all.

Italiangreyhound · 17/03/2012 01:55

BUMP not bumb!!!!

Italiangreyhound · 17/03/2012 02:13

Off to bed now but must share this site, the sound of the babies names is said in a really creepy voice and seems to get the names pronounced in a quite weird way. Very unusual. May we all soon be scouring it for ideas!

Hugs to all.....

Keziahhopes · 17/03/2012 18:26

Italian - thanks for asking. My milk has increased, but not enough to feed him alone. However, having worked out how much he needs each day, and how much formula he took a day when offered it after each feed the feeding advisor said I was providing 3/5's of his daily needs which cheered me up. So no more pumping after feed and we are carrying on mixed feeding! Smile how exciting Italian about the NEW ID course - have heard lots of it, but sadly none run near us. Hope you get good stuff out of it 2nd time around.

Josie hope it is going well for you.

sunnyg · 18/03/2012 20:38

Hi all

How's our two new Mums Lissy and Keziah getting on? Both pretty busy with your new bubs I expect. Hope you've both enjoyed your first mother's day. Bet it's been very special.

A big hello to the cycle buddies Italian and Josie. Italian you did very well at the baby shower. Specially seeing you are midst-cycle and meds and probably feeling all over the place. When will you be joining these two Mini? Must be soon if you are doing short protocol?

welcome back my old cycle buddy Mo. It's great to see you back. I'm eager to hear your news.....

Scrummy I've been to the gym this week and a yoga class inspired by you. It's a start at least. When do you kick off treatment?

My med records finally arrived in the mail friday (almost 50 days) which at first I was estatic about. However it was short-lived happiness. They had forgotten to include DH's - which I was promised. Are you kidding me?!? Are these people for real?!? So after a few major tantrums should be getting them Tuesday - am going in to collect them and not leaving till I have them!

best of luck for your appointment's pocket and Lexie. I will be thinking of you both.

Hope you've all had some sunshine today, wherever you are. Lexie I'm with you, a little sun makes all the difference.

Big hugs to all (and anyone I've left off).

Italiangreyhound · 18/03/2012 21:11

Keziah great news, hope it goes well. How was your first mother?s day?

Lizzy how was it for you, honey?

Sunng you will get those notes soon I hope, hugs to you.

Pocket, Mojangles and co, any news?

Hoping to visit a new mum after her C-Section, think I can stand it, am in the right place.

Hugs to all.
Does no one watch The Good Wife? It is brilliant, it combines a sort of who done it, with court room drama, with sexy romance story with American politics BUT all in doses you can manage and all in an hour! There is the hottest man on TV

www.imdb.com/name/nm0194516/

Backed up by an also quite hot man....

www.imdb.com/name/nm0001038/ - minus the beard

Check it out www.imdb.com/title/tt1442462/ and watch on on demand .... then come back and talk to me..... (I can fill in the blanks!)

www.channel4.com/programmes/the-good-wife/4od

Please send up arrow prayers for me, scan tomorrow to see if we will be ready embryo transfer soon, keen to do it soon, but scared!

MiniH · 19/03/2012 09:13

josie I'm sure you are not imagining it - here's to some wonderfully ripe eggs growing as I type this.

Italian - I have the DVD of the first series of good wife but still not watched it. Am too busy watching homeland and suits and body of proof - I should really get out more but in our defence we just series link stuff and then watch it of an evening after work when there's nothing decent on.

Sunnyg - I cannot believe how rubbish they have been getting you your records!!! I don't blame you for collecting them yourself this time.

Not sure if I'll be cycle buddies/ with whom. I was told we start injecting day 2 of cycle so likely to start end of march so egg retrieval will be round Easter then - ill be growing my very own Easter eggs!!!

Good luck to Lexie and Italian for appointments today - hope I've got that right that you both have one today.

JosieSmith1 · 19/03/2012 10:37

GrinGrinGrin Italian I hadn?t noticed that. I?m glad you?re off the heart medication and I hope you?re feeling better for it, and I hope you enjoy the course. I think you did amazing at the baby shower and by agreeing to see your friend after having her baby, it?s so difficult but I think it?s great that you?re in the right place to be doing it

I?m glad you?re feeling better Keziah and I hope your mind is a bit more at ease

SunnyG you?ve had a hell of a time getting those records! Hopefully soon you?ll have everything you need (finally!)

MiniH I hope they?re growing! I haven?t felt anything else, which I know might not mean anything, but I?m worried for Wednesday?s scan nonetheless. Grin at growing your own easter eggs

I?m full of the joys of spring at the moment, I feel like donning a cheerleading outfit and cheering us all on Grin Come on, we can do it! Got my scan on Wednesday, I?m nervous but hopeful. I hope they?re wrong and that I?ve made loads, or a few at least. If it all goes to plan, EC should be next week, eeeekkk!!!! It felt like it was dragging at the time but I can?t believe it?s all happening next week, it seems really quick from starting stims. And I can?t believe I?ve been injecting every day for the last 4 weeks, I?ve had 35 injections so far. It?s unbelievable what you can do with the right motivation

Pocket1 · 19/03/2012 19:23

Italian and Lexie hope you have good news after your appointments today.

Mini love your easter egg idea. Here's to loads of juicy easter eggs for us all!

Josie go cheerleader go. An exciting week for you. I've got everything crossed. Waiting for your news Smile

Italiangreyhound · 19/03/2012 22:33

My lining not plump enough for this week, try next week.

Keziah hope it goes well with feeding.

Josie massive hugs and baby dust.

Mini love your Easter eggs.

Sunnyg any news?

Pocket what's next honey?

Lissy have those neighbours shut up yet?

Mojangles and all chocolate boobs to all Biscuit Biscuit

JosieSmith1 · 20/03/2012 09:31

Sorry to hear that Italian, fingers crossed next week is your week

Not much to report here, nervous for tomorrow's scan but I also want today to go quickly so I can get an answer one way or another. I just want to know what's going on in there. Anyway, I'm going to get my head down and get lots of mumsnetting work done Grin

Lexie1970 · 20/03/2012 09:56

Good morning Grin

So, had consultation yesterday and I think he just confirmed what we thought.

Firstly he took my medical history and thinks that my appendix removal could potentially have caused damage at 15 (couple of hours from rupturing, had massive drain inserted :(), then my crash c-section and ERPC could all potentially have done something to impede fertility. He believes that our TTC problems are related to ovarian issues. My raised fsh levels and low AMH all point to this and he basically said that IVF is not the route for us as he believed that statistically speaking we have just as much likelihood of conceiving and sustaining a pregnancy naturally, as we would by having IVF.

That said, he recommends having a HSG scan to see if there is any damage as it is always worth investigating. Been looking that up on t'internet - that doesn't look particularly pleasant :(

He also said that it was just probably coincidence that my periods became erratic at time of miscarriage and looking at my past fsh levels they have been quite high, again indicating that the quantity and therefore quality are just not there anymore, which is probably why last pregnancy failed.

We liked

Lexie1970 · 20/03/2012 10:03

Pressed too soon!!!!!!

We liked the fact that he was direct and honest. He told us not to waste our time and money on IVF treatment, but said there was the option of donor eggs - the waiting list in this country is a year minimum, could find somebody to be a donor for us and speed up the process, or go to Spain where the anonymity guidelines are different.

So, the stage we are at now is waiting to see what the HSG tells us, and in about 4-6 weeks will have a clearer idea of what the next options are.

josie good luck with the scan tomorrow

That baby name site - weird :) :)

X

JosieSmith1 · 20/03/2012 11:52

Lexie I've had an HSG and it sounds awful but itsn't half as bad. It's uncomfortable and is quite intense cramps but it doesn't last long and is perfectly manageable. I was a nervous wreck beforehand and when I came out I was surprised how quick and easy it all was. I have high FSH and low AMH so it's interesting that your doctor has said not to try IVF as that's what we're trying at the moment. I suppose every area is different. I wondered about donor eggs too but didn't realise the waiting list was that long!

Pocket1 · 20/03/2012 18:38

Sorry to hear that italian. A week can make a huge difference - am sending you positive vibes. As you may remember, my meds had to be upped twice as the lower levels weren't doing the plump thing. What are you taking btw? Sad

Lexie are you heartened about your natural chances or confused as to what to do next? Its no consolation but nothing is ever easy in his game! Not sure of avg donor wait times but for the record, I was matched within two months! My London clinic is/was new so had short wait times - also they, like many clinics, network to share donor/recipient info. Hopefully you won't need to go this route, but if you do, you may not need to wait a year. I also looked into going overseas. If at any time you want to ask anything please feel free. Smile

Josie hope tomorrow goes well. Let us know won't you Smile

My appt is tmw eve. Will update you after. Fingers crossed we can do FET quite soon - I'm in the mood to get things moving now!

Hi to all you other lovely ladies. Hope everyone is well.

BiscuitBiscuit

Italiangreyhound · 20/03/2012 22:37

Lexie so sorry for you, hope you will find the right course of treatment or whatever for you.

Josie massive hugs to you. Good luck for your appointment.

Pocket How are you? What's the plan for you? How many frosties do you have for FET? Good luck for your appointment.

Pocket What am I not taking is the question! Buseralin, injections, Progynova, aspirin and Presisolone for now. Hugs to you.

I came back from the clinic feeling very happy and relaxed yesterday. I feel my family is complete; me, God, DH and DD. If we get another child through having a baby - fab, if not, we will either look at adoption or stay as we are. Or possibly foster. Anyway, I do feel OK about it all now. I feel relaxed and ready for whatever.

Sending hugs to you all.

JosieSmith1 · 21/03/2012 12:16

Scan went badly. I haven't responded to the stims at all. They've done a blood test to see if it's maybe just working really slowly, or if it's not working at all. Get the results at 4pm. It could be the end of the road for us SadAngry I'm not at work. I went in, burst into tears then promptly left. DH phoned work to see if he could have a half day and I caught him in the kitchen on the phone to his boss crying his eyes out. It's the first time he's cried since this all started. I feel like I've let us both down. I honestly wasn't expecting there to be nothing at all.

MiniH · 21/03/2012 12:54

oh Josie - i'm so, so sorry it didn't go well. Please don't give up hope though. It doesn't mean its the end of the road. Wait for the 4pm results and even if they say you are not responding that's not the end. My clinic, for example, specialises in treating poor responders and are happy to do natural cycle IVF (so no injections/stims at all!). I can't remember if you ovulate normally on your own, but if you do that would still be an option. And there's also egg donors. None of it is ideal and I know it is very very little comfort right now, I just couldn't leave you feeling that there is no hope.

A massive, massive hug to you. Be kind to one another as it's not easy. Don't for one second think you've let anyone down. Infertility is incredibly hard and it tests all our relationships to the max. Our issue happens to be male infertility but i've never felt like my DH is any less perfect for it, or has in any way let me down, and I'm sure your DH feels the same about you.

Let us know, if you can, what they say at 4pm. Thinking of you.

MiniH · 21/03/2012 13:01

Italian - fingers crossed next week is your week.

Pocket - good luck for tonight. I'm off in fifteen mins for my appointment so will update later.

Lexie - It sounds like you had a very good consultant and its heartening that he was so honest about options. I wouldn't worry about the HSG - as others have said, it wasn't all that bad. Depending on whether you have the X-Ray or Ultrasound one there is a little difference, but essentially with ultrasound one they use dildo cam (sorry, that's what I call it) to have a look at ovaries, then pass a small tube in and inject the fluid. It does feel like really bad period cramps while they push the fluid, but its all over within about 30 seconds. I have heard if your tubes are blocked it can be more painful, but i'm quite a pragmatist about things like that as i'd rather know there was an issue (even if it hurts to find out) as at least then they can do something about it - sorry if that sounds awful, and i'm not saying they are likely to find anything, just thought i'd add that some people do find it painful. I assume the x-ray one is very similar, just probably not with dildo cam! Do remember to take a sanitary towel with you though as its a little messy after!

Right, got to dash.
